Minor earthquake strikes NW of Herington Saturday

A 2.3 magnitude earthquake shook part of southern Saline County this morning. 

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, the quake struck at 6:34 a.m. Friday and was centered just east of S. Niles Road between E. Hobbs Creek Road and E. Lapsley Road.

A 2.3 magnitude quake struck at 5:08 p.m. Wednesday just north of Assaria, according to the Kansas Geological Survey.

Minor earthquake strikes just north of Assaria Wednesday

Three minor earthquakes shook parts of southern Saline County and northern McPherson County Tuesday.

According to information from the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.2 magnitude quake struck northwest of Roxbury at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. It was centered northwest of the 23rd Avenue/Svensk Road intersection.

At 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, a 2.1 magnitude quake struck southeast of Assaria. It was centered south of E. Hedberg Road between S. Woodward Road between S. Simpson Road.

Another 2.1 magnitude quake struck the area at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, this time southwest of Gypsum. It was centered just south of E. Assaria Road between S. Niles Road and S. Cunningham Road.

Small earthquake shakes part of SE Saline County Sunday

DICKINSON COUNTY - A series of earthquakes have struck parts of Dickinson County overnight and into Sunday morning.

The quakes followed two small quakes that rattled parts of Dickinson County Saturday morning.

A 2.4 magnitude quake struck at 11:47 p.m. Saturday northwest of Herington, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. The quake was centered south of Kansas Highway 4 (K-4) between Trail Road and Sage Road.

A 2.2 magnitude quake struck in the same area at 12:36 a.m. Sunday. It, too, was centered south of Kansas Highway 4 between Trail Road and Sage Road.

At 1:59 a.m. Sunday, a 2.0 magnitude quake struck a little more than a mile west of the previous quake. It was centered just east of Rain Road between 600 Avenue and K-4.

A 2.1 magnitude quake then struck at 9:08 a.m. Sunday west of Herington. It was centered southwest of the Trail Road/600 Avenue intersection.

Four minor quakes rattle parts of Dickinson County

HOPE - Two small earthquakes rattled parts of Dickinson County this morning.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, the first quake struck at 12:29 a.m. Saturday northeast of Hope. The quake was centered southwest of the intersection of Sage Road and 1000 Avenue.

The second, a 2.4 magnitude quake, struck at 8:44 a.m. Saturday, a little more than two miles north-northwest of the first. It was centered just southeast of the Rain Road/1200 Avenue intersection.

GYPSUM - A small earthquake shook part of Saline County early Tuesday morning.

The Kansas Geological Survey today reported that a 2.7 magnitude quake struck at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday southwest of Gypsum. The quake was centered just north of E. Hedberg Road between S. Whitmore Road and S. Niles Road.

The 2.1 magnitude quake struck at 9:23 p.m. Saturday and was just west of S. Niles Road between E. Hedberg Road and E. Assaria Road, according to the Kansas Geological Survey.

GYPSUM - Two earthquakes struck southeastern Saline County Tuesday.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey the first, a 2.6 magnitude quake, struck at 11:11 a.m. Tuesday southwest of Gypsum. It was centered north of E. Hedberg Road between S. Niles Road and S. Cunningham Road.

The second earthquake, a 2.8 magnitude quake, struck at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday southwest of Gypsum. I was centered just south of the S. Whitmore Road/E. Hedberg Road intersection.

 </figure>The second earthquake, a 2.8 magnitude quake, struck at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday southwest of Gypsum. I was centered just south of the S. Whitmore Road/E. Hedberg Road intersection.

Two small quakes rattle part of SE Saline County Tuesday

Did you feel the ground shaking a little after 11 a.m. Monday? Believe it or not, it wasn't an earthquake in southeastern Saline County this time.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake struck northwest of Medford, Okla., at 11:10 a.m. Monday.

The quake was felt as far north as Salina, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

UPDATE 7:45 a.m. Sunday: A fourth small earthquake has hit Dickinson County.

The 2.0 magnitude quake struck at 11:29 p.m. Saturday southwest of Woodbine. It was centered under Rain Road between 1000 Avenue and 1100 Avenue.

UPDATE 8:50 p.m. Saturday: A third small earthquake struck Dickinson County Saturday.

The 2.6 magnitude earthquake struck at 8:05 p.m. Saturday, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. It was centered south-southwest of the 1100 Avenue/Rain Road intersection.

UPDATE 8:30 p.m. Saturday: A second small quake struck in Dickinson County Saturday.

The Kansas Geological Survey reported that a 2.3 magnitude quake struck southwest of Woodbine at 4:09 p.m. Saturday. It was centered just north of 1200 Avenue west of Quail Road.

HERINGTON - A minor earthquake struck northwest of Herington Friday evening.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.0 magnitude quake struck at 7:36 p.m. Friday. It was centered north of 600 Avenue between Union Road and Trail Road.

ASSARIA - A small earthquake struck northeast of Assaria early this morning.

A 2.0 magnitude earthquake struck at 2:18 a.m. Saturday, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. It was centered just west of S. Woodward Road about a mile south of Kansas Highway 4.

The Kansas Geological Survey reported that a 2.4 magnitude earthquake struck southwest of Woodbine. It was centered just east of Rain Road between 1000 Avenue and 1100 Avenue.

UPDATE 8:59 a.m. Thursday: A second earthquake has struck southeastern Saline County this morning.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.8 magnitude quake struck at 8:21 a.m. Thursday southwest of Gypsum. It was centered just east of S. Niles Road between E. Hedberg Road and E. Assaria Road.

ASSARIA - A small earthquake shook part of southeastern Saline County this morning.

The 2.2 magnitude quake struck at 7:52 a.m. Thursday east-southeast of Assaria, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. The quake was centered just west of S. Woodward Road between E. Hedberg Road and E. Assaria Road.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.0 magnitude quake struck at 3:44 a.m. Wednesday. It was centered just south of 320th Street between Remington Road and Quail Creek Road.
