Two small quakes rattle part of SE Saline County Tuesday

GYPSUM - Two earthquakes struck southeastern Saline County Tuesday.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey the first, a 2.6 magnitude quake, struck at 11:11 a.m. Tuesday southwest of Gypsum. It was centered north of E. Hedberg Road between S. Niles Road and S. Cunningham Road.

The second earthquake, a 2.8 magnitude quake, struck at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday southwest of Gypsum. I was centered just south of the S. Whitmore Road/E. Hedberg Road intersection.
