Minor earthquakes shake southern Saline, northern McPherson counties

Three minor earthquakes shook parts of southern Saline County and northern McPherson County Tuesday.

According to information from the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.2 magnitude quake struck northwest of Roxbury at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday. It was centered northwest of the 23rd Avenue/Svensk Road intersection.

At 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, a 2.1 magnitude quake struck southeast of Assaria. It was centered south of E. Hedberg Road between S. Woodward Road between S. Simpson Road.

Another 2.1 magnitude quake struck the area at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday, this time southwest of Gypsum. It was centered just south of E. Assaria Road between S. Niles Road and S. Cunningham Road.
