HERINGTON - A small earthquake struck northwest of Herington this afternoon.
The 2.3 magnitude quake struck at 2:13 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. It was centered just west of Union Road between 600 Avenue and Kansas Highway 4.
