HERINGTON - A 2.8 magnitude earthquake struck west of the north side of Herington Wednesday evening.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, the earthquake hit at 9:59 p.m. Wednesday. It was centered just east of the Trail Road/600 Avenue intersection.
