Eileen Frances Mull, 102, passed away peacefully on Nov. 24, 2024 in Salina, Kansas.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1922, to John J. and Helena (Geerdes) Barenberg in Herndon, Kansas.&nbsp; Eileen was the 4th of 12 children in the family.&nbsp; She grew up on their family farm in Herndon and graduated from Herndon Rural High School in 1940.

After high school she attended St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Wichita, Kansas, graduating in 1943.&nbsp; She then joined the love of her life, George A. Mull, in Marysville, California where he was stationed.&nbsp; They were married on Jan. 13, 1944 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

After George was discharged, they settled back home in Wichita.&nbsp; Eileen worked as a nurse at St. Francis.&nbsp; She and George had two sons before moving to Great Bend, Kansas in 1958, and then they welcomed another son into the family.&nbsp; Eileen was a nurse at St. Rose Hospital until moving to Salina in 1966.

In Salina, Eileen was hired as a head nurse for St. John’s Hospital, but she valued time with patients over administrative duties.&nbsp; She retired after 21 years in 1987.&nbsp; After retiring, Eileen was a nurse at Drury Place Retirement Center and volunteered as a reading mentor at Stewart Elementary.&nbsp; She dearly loved helping children learn and become successful readers.&nbsp; &nbsp;

After moving to Salina, George and Eileen became parishioners at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church.&nbsp; Here they raised their boys in their strong Catholic faith and became involved in various committees.&nbsp; Eileen was a member of St. Mary’s Ladies Guild, Alter Society, Time, Talent and Treasure Committee, Health Ministries and St. Mary’s Quilters.&nbsp; She also belonged to the District of Kansas Nurses’ Association and served on their board.

Eileen’s strong, deep faith and love of God and her family was the foundation of her caring and dedicated life as a mother, grandmother and nurse.

She loved playing cards, quilting, growing roses in her flower garden, and cooking/baking.&nbsp; She also adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. &nbsp;

One of her favorite things to celebrate was Midnight Mass at Christmas.&nbsp; She loved putting together a large breakfast at their house with homemade cinnamon rolls for family, friends and neighbors to enjoy after Midnight Mass.

Eileen lived at McCall Manor for 11 years, after George’s passing.&nbsp; She enjoyed the residents and staff immensely.&nbsp; It felt like home for her.&nbsp; She then moved to Brookdale-Fairdale Senior Living for her new home for the next 7 years.&nbsp; Again, she loved the friends she made and thought so very much of the staff.

George, her husband of 57 years, passed away in 2001 at the age of 83.

Eileen was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alvina, Rosemary, Lucille, Dorothy, and Carol Jean; brothers, Ernie, Gene, Chuck, and Dennis; 4 sisters-in-law, including best friend Cecilia Mull, and 5 brothers-in-law; and 3 nieces and nephews.

Eileen is survived by her 3 sons, Doug (Jean) Mull of Salina, Jerry (Diana) Mull of Texas, and Mike (Bobbi) Mull of Salina; her 8 grandchildren, Sara McAsey, Nathan (Jamie) Mull, Brendan (Angela) Mull,&nbsp; Jordan Mull, Alex Mull, Annie (Matt ) Woodruff, Chad (Rachel) Hermes, and Ashley (Bruce) Evans; 17 great- grandchildren; her sister, Mary Anne Marney of Wichita; brother, Maurice (Donata) Barenberg of Kansas City; and sister-in-law,&nbsp; Nancy Barenberg of Urbana, Illinois; and 31 dear nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a Vigil will be Friday, November 29th, at Ryan Mortuary from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.&nbsp;&nbsp; Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30th, at St. Mary Queen of the Universe Catholic Church.&nbsp; The burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.&nbsp; Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s or Mass Intentions.

The family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at Brookdale-Fairdale and Interim Hospice in Salina.&nbsp; They were very compassionate, thoughtful and caring to our mother.

Janelle Nicole Slingsby (43) went to her eternal home on November 24, 2024, at her residence in Topeka, KS. &nbsp;She was born on December 6th, 1980, in Clay Center, KS to Carol and Walter Slingsby.

She was raised in Clay Center and graduated from Clay Center Community High School. After high school, she graduated from Bethany College with a degree in elementary education. She taught in Catholic schools until she became a mother and devoted her life to raising her family.

Her three children were the joy of her life. The time and experiences she shared with them were her most cherished moments. Whether taking them on trips or immersing them in the music she grew up with, they always found a way to have a new adventure.

Janelle had a kind heart, a free spirit, and the ability to make anyone feel loved. Her motherly nature made everyone in her orbit feel cared for.

She is survived by her three children; Lucas, Anna, and Joseph Bergman of Topeka, KS; her father Walter Slingsby of Clay Center; brothers Shon &amp; wife Haylle Slingsby (Kaitlyn &amp; Francis) of Wichita, KS; Adam and wife Alicia Slingsby (Emerson &amp; Dylan) of Clay Center, and Patrick and wife Amy Slingsby of Clay Center.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Slingsby.

Sharon Kay Krisher was born January 27, 1938, to Benton and Madelene Krisher of Niles, Kansas. After nearly 87 years of life, she left this world for heaven on Monday, November 25, 2024, in Salina Kansas where she had been lovingly cared for by Choices Network for thirty plus years, and in the past 18 months Gentiva Hospice has assisted with her care.

She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by sisters Lois Herbel (Jack) of Bel Aire Ks, Wilma Heikes (Dave) of Minneapolis Ks, and Benita Coffman (DeWayne) of Kechi Ks, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her well.

Sharon attended school at R-12 country elementary near her childhood home on the banks of Coal Creek near Niles. Her best days and favorite stories revolve around living on that little farm. It was a simple life that fit her well. In 1952 her family moved to Minneapolis Ks. Sharon loved to draw and paint, especially roses. She was quite adept at playing Pitch with the family, a skill that her father cultivated in her. In 1991 she moved to an independent living apartment in Salina and then in 2004 to a Choices Network Group Home. Her days were filled with activities at Choices, the Sunflower Day Center, and the Senior Center in Salina. And she still spent a lot of time painting pictures and playing cards with anyone willing to play. Sharon was a member of Belmont Nazarene Church in Salina where she was loved and spiritually nurtured well.

Sharon was a spirited, friendly person who never considered anyone a stranger. She was also braver and stronger than the average person and endured a life that was quite challenging.

Her family meant everything to her. And she was deeply loved by them.

Naomi Baxter, 62, of Clay Center, Kansas, passed away on November 22, 2024, at Advena Living in Clay Center. She was born on March 28, 1962, to Rama and Violet (Beals) Hughes in Miltonvale, Kansas.

Naomi was raised on a farm in Miltonvale, where she grew up with six siblings, learning the values of hard work, dedication, and the importance of family. She graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1980, and in 1982, she married Victor Baxter. Together, they raised four children: Victoria, Gloria, Jason, and Gary.

A devoted grandmother, Naomi cherished every moment spent with her three beloved grandchildren—Taylor, Brooke, and Kiersten. She delighted in spoiling them with love, attention, and laughter, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by her family for years to come.

Naomi’s career spanned several local establishments, where she worked with compassion and dedication. She contributed to Key Mill, Presbyterian Manor, Medicalodge, Wakefield Rehabilitation, and Clay County Medical Center, always offering her help and support to those in need.

Her faith was a cornerstone of Naomi’s life. As a longtime member of Clay Center Wesleyan Church, she fostered a deep and personal relationship with God, which shaped her actions, relationships, and the love she shared with others. Naomi’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident in everything she did—from daily moments to special occasions. Her kindness, warmth, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Naomi Baxter

Christy (Ade) Smith, 49, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family after a brief but courageous battle with illness.

Born in Salina on October 3, 1975, Christy was the cherished eldest child of Brenda (Swisher Ade) Peterson and Eldon Ade. She grew up as a proud Southeast of Saline Trojan, graduating in 1994, before pursuing her dreams at Kansas State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Christy was a true Wildcat at heart, proudly donning purple six days a week, reserving Sundays for cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs in red and gold.

Above all, Christy’s greatest joy and accomplishment in life were her children. In February 2005, Christy and then-husband, Todd Lauer, welcomed Emily Christine into their lives. In June 2012, Jaxson Dean joined the family, born to Christy and Larry Smith. When Christy and Larry united in marriage on July 3, 2018, their family became complete with the addition of stepson, Gage.

Christy’s professional journey was as vibrant and dynamic as her personality. After college, she began her career at GTM Sportswear, managing Kansas State apparel. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found “Simply Baby,” a children’s boutique in Salina, alongside her mother and best friend, Brenda. For 15 years, the boutique was a hub of creativity and connection. After closing the store, Christy found unexpected fulfillment in providing childcare from her home, nurturing countless children, including her cherished nieces, Landyn &amp; Camryn. Her daycare families will forever hold a special place in their hearts for the love and care Christy gave so generously.

Christy’s warmth and humor were unmatched. Her love for her family and friends was fierce and unwavering, often expressed through playful banter and a healthy dose of competitive spirit—especially when it came to poking fun at her rival sports teams. Christy cherished her role as an aunt, building special bonds with all her nieces and nephews. She was their biggest cheerleader and a constant source of joy and encouragement in their lives. Her laughter, loyalty, and zest for life will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Christy leaves behind her devoted husband, Larry Smith; children Emily Lauer and Jaxson Smith; stepson Gage Smith; her parents Eldon and Hallie Ade and John and Brenda Peterson; siblings Clint (Jill) Ade, Clay (Brandi) Ade, and Cara (Heath) Griggs; stepsiblings Angela (Mark) McGraw, Annette (Kevin) Mannel, Arlee (Maggie) Butterfield, Jason (Jeannie) Peterson, Michelle (Kalvin) Simmons, and Christopher (Leslie) Peterson; mother-in-law Earlene Smith; her beloved dog Annie; and countless extended family members and friends.

She is reunited in heaven with her infant sister, Holly Ann Ade; maternal grandparents, Dean and Nancy Swisher; paternal grandparents, Nathan and Idelle Ade; step-grandparents, Robert and Jean Myer, and Neil and Joyce Peterson; aunt Rose Ann Swisher Taylor; uncle Brad Swisher; cousin Jonathan Taylor; and father-in-law Larry Smith Sr.

A celebration of Christy’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salina, Kansas. Private burial will follow at Gypsum Valley Cemetery in Gypsum, Kansas.

In February 2005, Christy and then-husband, Todd Lauer, welcomed Emily Christine into their lives. In June 2012, Jaxson Dean joined the family, born to Christy and Larry Smith. When Christy and Larry united in marriage on July 3, 2018, their family became complete with the addition of stepson, Gage.Christy’s professional journey was as vibrant and dynamic as her personality. After college, she began her career at GTM Sportswear, managing Kansas State apparel. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found “Simply Baby,” a children’s boutique in Salina, alongside her mother and best friend, Brenda. For 15 years, the boutique was a hub of creativity and connection. After closing the store, Christy found unexpected fulfillment in providing childcare from her home, nurturing countless children, including her cherished nieces, Landyn &amp; Camryn. Her daycare families will forever hold a special place in their hearts for the love and care Christy gave so generously.Christy’s warmth and humor were unmatched. Her love for her family and friends was fierce and unwavering, often expressed through playful banter and a healthy dose of competitive spirit—especially when it came to poking fun at her rival sports teams. Gary Lee Gilpin, 76, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024. He was born April 9, 1948, at Ellsworth Hospital, Ellsworth, KS, to Sam Gilpin and Dorothy (Wachtler) Gilpin.

He attended school in Holyrood, KS, served in the United States Air Force and was active in the Isis Shrine of Salina. Gary moved from Great Falls, MT, to begin the last phase of his career at Salina Regional Health Center in Radiology, as a supervisor, before retiring in 2017.

Curtis Howard Thompson, 84, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 12.

Curtis was born in Matador, Texas on February 5, 1940, to Lucious Thompson and Bobby Reed.

Curtis became an ordained minister in 1968 and was a Pastor at Zion Baptist Church and Allen Chapel for many years.

Curtis and Claudia Thompson were united in marriage July 5, 1971 and spent many happy years together before her passing in 2004.

In Curtis’s free time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, and going on long walks.

Survivors include his daughter, MattieMae Lytle (James); sons, Charles S Thompson, Curtis Howard Thompson Jr.; step sons, Bennie Williams, Michael Williams (Lisa); sisters, Sallie Mae Jackson, Patrica Thompson; brothers, Hurbert Thompson, Robert Nelms; nephews, Don Jeffrey, Tyrone Morris (Lisa), Raymond Jeffrey; and niece, Mary Jackson.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dr. Matthew Joel Wimer, 39, of Geneseo, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, November 20th, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita.

Matthew was born in Salina, Kansas on January 24, 1985, son of Joel W. Wimer and Jeri LeLynn (Swagerty) Wimer.

After graduating high school, he attended Kansas State University before graduating Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine. Matthew finished his Journeyman Farrier certification while completing his final year of veterinary school. He then interned at Rood &amp; Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

After finishing his internship in 2015, he returned home to Smolan, Kansas to start Ranchland Forge Veterinary Medicine and Equine Podiatry Services.

Matthew and his wife, Abby, were married in Salemsborg Lutheran Church on July 24, 2020.

In his free time, he enjoyed being with people he loved, being out in the pasture, checking cattle, and helping horses.

Survivors include his wife, Abby Wimer; father, Joel W. Wimer; brother, Michael Wimer (Rylee); and sister, Melissa Haverfield (Michael).

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Blayke, Bronson, Ridge and Rawlin; and numerous aunts, uncles, family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jeri LeLynn (Swagerty) Wimer.

Daniel Robert Aker died from a heart attack at Salina Regional Hospital on November 20, 2024. He was at peace and surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born June 19, 1952, in Salina, the only child of Robert Paul Aker and Patricia (Murray) Aker. Dan, a lifelong farmer, was born during the middle of the 1952 wheat harvest, and the night he was born, the Abilene grain elevator’s leg caught on fire.

Dan learned quite young to work very, very hard as he took over the family farm at the age of 13 when his dad went blind. Dan farmed for the next 60 years. His favorite tractor was his 1982 John Deere 4440, which he bought brand new from Shouse Implement in Abilene.

Dan raised hogs, fed cattle, and raised crops. The men he dealt with in business were his father’s age or older and Dan was a man before his time. He was a tireless worker and honest.

Dan went to St. Andrews School in Abilene and graduated from the 8th grade there. His mother made him go to the new St. Andrews School because her dad, Joseph Murray was an Abilene Architect, and he drew the plans for the school. While at St. Andrews, Dan’s dad began to lose his sight. To feed the hogs at home, Dan would load milo on the truck and drive it to the Abilene Coop. After leaving the truck at the Coop he would walk to St. Andrews, attend school, walk to the Coop after school, drive the truck home, and scoop the ground feed to the hogs. Although at the time, Dan did not have a Drivers License, this was overlooked by the County Sheriff who knew Dan’s dad. Dan was only 11 when he started driving the truck to the Coop for feed, it was a 1946 International, and he could barely reach the pedals.

Dan graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1970. He was the Abilene FFA President while in school. In June 1970 Dan bought his first farm. Also in June 1970, 18-year-old Dan Aker received his Draft notice for the Vietnam War. Dan’s draft number was 44. He received a hardship deferment because he was the only child to a blind father whose sole labor kept the farm going.

In 1971 he built a farrowing house and nursery for his farrow to finish hog operation. Before the farrowing house was finished, he had sows in it pigging. For over thirty years Dan ran the hog houses from farrow to finish. Throughout the coming years, Dan would buy more land and build the farming operation. Dan baled thousands of bales of hay, raised thousands of hogs, fed thousands of cattle and binned and hauled thousands of bushels of grain to local elevators.

On November 22, 1985, Dan married Jean Ann Feigley. They were two days shy of celebrating 39 years of marriage when Dan passed away. Jean Ann survives of the home.

Three children were born to this marriage: Benjamin Daniel Aker, Marie Elizabeth Haycook, and Joseph Robert Aker, all of Abilene. Dan has one grandchild, Brayden Daniel Haycook, Abilene. Dan is also survived by several cousins.

Grandpa (Dan) and Brayden would sit at the kitchen table and talk about the farm.

Dan was proceeded in death by both parents.

Dan was a 51-year member of the Abilene Elks Club, served 35 years as Saline County Rural Fire District Number 1, including several years as Garfield station’s Chief, and many years as the Abilene Coop Board President. He annually supports Dickinson County 4-H.

Dan could fix anything, doctor livestock, and never complained about long days. He was honest and loyal, with strong values, and he never quit. He raised his children to be the same.

Rosary will be held at St. Andrews Church, Abilene on Tuesday, November 26 at 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Wednesday, November 27 at St. Andrews Church in Abilene with Father Peter O’Donnell. Mary Jeanita Goetz, 96, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 21st, 2024.

Mary was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on January 24, 1928, a daughter of Barbara (Riedel) and Joseph A. Bieker.

She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Ellis and was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Salina, from the beginning.

She worked in Food Service at USD 305 for 10 years and as Food Service Director at USD 400 in Lindsborg.

On December 28, 1948, Mary married Donald Goetz in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Santa Ana, California.

Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Hiner (Cain), of Assaria, Rita Billips, of Salina; sons, Joe Goetz of Hoyt, Kansas and Ernie Goetz (Michelle), of Minneapolis, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is also survived by two sisters, Viola Billinger (Joe), of Hays, Kansas, and Marlaine Gottschalk, of Schoenchen, Kansas; and sister-law, Sheryl Bieker, of Scranton, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; son-in-law, Larry Billips; and daughter-in-law, Laurie Goetz.

Clarence J. “Jerry” Henderson, 74, Bennington, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Salina Regional Health Center. Jerry was born June 15, 1950, in Salina to Clarence E. and Magdalena (Krone) Henderson.

Jerry and Karen R. Cherry were united in marriage on November 27, 1968, in Bennington. Jerry worked for many years as a road grater for Ottawa County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen on March 13, 2005; and siblings, William, Alfred, Albert, Martha, and Steve.

Survivors are his daughters, Janet Beemer and husband, Richard and Teresa Clements and husband, Gary; siblings, Donald, Gloria, and Mary; granddaughter, Shelbee Fontes and husband, Matthew; and two great-granddaughters, Brynlee and Kynzlee.

Jerry was born June 15, 1950, in Salina to Clarence E. and Magdalena (Krone) Henderson.Jerry and Karen R. Cherry were united in marriage on November 27, 1968, in Bennington. Jerry worked for many years as a road grater for Ottawa County.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen on March 13, 2005; and siblings, William, Alfred, Albert, Martha, and Steve.Survivors are his daughters, Janet Beemer and husband, Richard and Teresa Clements and husband, Gary; siblings, Donald, Gloria, and Mary; granddaughter, Shelbee Fontes and husband, Matthew; and two great-granddaughters, Brynlee and Kynzlee.Visitation will be Friday, November 22 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 23 at the funeral home. Born Patricia Ann Bodine on August 26th 1943 in Delano, California. Jeanne was adopted at age 3 by John C. &amp; Dena Reimer, then taking the name Jeanne Ann Reimer. Jeanne grew up in Shafter, California. Jeanne came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a young age, forever securing her eternal life.

In Jeanne’s adult life she had a heart for teaching, and upon graduating from Tabor College, she would teach Sunday school, VBS and elementary age school classes. Jeanne had a calling to minister to children. One of Jeanne’s greatest desires was for her children and grandchildren to come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior, as she did.

After a long and rewarding career as a greatly loved teacher, Jeanne retired. Over the years during retirement she would substitute teach. Jeanne also volunteered at a small Christian school in Salina, KS up until her glorious ascent to meet her beloved Savior.

Jeanne was a loving wife to her husband of 58 years, Stuart Dyck. A caring mother to her three children, Christy, Jennifer and Scott. She had joy in being involved with her grandchildren, Andrew, Caleb, Courtney, Grace, Emma, Natalie, Luke and Gabriel. She absolutely adored her three great granddaughters, Daisy, Ava and Isla.

One of Jeanne’s joys was traveling to Wichita, KS where she would attend church and was involved in a Bible study with a group of dear friends and amazing women. Jeanne is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters in law.

Jeanne is survived by her loving husband Stu, her three children Christy (Scott), Jennifer and Scott (Katey). Her eight grandchildren, Andrew (Ashley), Caleb, Courtney, Grace (Shiloh), Emma, Natalie, Luke and Gabriel. Her three great grandchildren, Daisy, Ava and Isla. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As we gather to mourn our loss, we may also rejoice in heavens gain. Jeanne walks with Jesus, singing praises and rejoicing with loved ones. Rest assured that one day soon we will all reunite in the glorious presence of our Lord.

Graham Cecil Jones, 88, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024.

Born on October 9, 1936, in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, England, Graham's early years were shaped by the dramatic events of World War II. As a young child, he endured the German bombing of his beloved Isle of Wight, experiences that would forge his resilient spirit and later fuel his fascinating stories of wartime Britain. Despite those challenging times, or perhaps because of them, Graham developed the quick wit and warm humor that would become his hallmark. He had a gift for brightening any room with his perfectly timed quips and infectious laughter.

A talented electrical engineer, Graham dedicated his skills to the aerospace industry, ultimately retiring as the manager of FR High Temp in Denver, Colorado. His job took him across the globe, and his journey led him from the shores of England to the heartland of America in the 1970s, where he built a life while maintaining strong ties to his British roots.

Graham was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Cecil James Jones and Rita Margaret (Nash) Jones, and his beloved sister Pauline Cox (husband Ron).

He is survived by his loving wife Joreen (Klein) Jones; his daughters Sue Anne Jones of Ringwood UK, Sally Elizabeth Jones of Southampton UK, and Jennifer Feeney (husband Levi) of Dripping Springs, TX; his brother Stuart Jones of Shalfleet, Isle of Wight; and his cherished grandchildren Matthew Wing of South Sea Hampshire, UK, and Landon and Campbell Feeney of Dripping Springs.

A true craftsman at heart, Graham found joy in home repairs and innovations, always ready to lend his expertise to neighbors in need. His love for adventure shone through his passion for gardening and exploring the United States with his wife in their RV. His sharp mind, helping hand, and ability to find humor in life's everyday moments will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Ruby Frances McBee passed away peacefully at Presbyterian Manor in Salina, Kansas on November 6, 2024. She was 101 years old.

Ruby was born in Braymer, Missouri on October 9, 1923 and grew up on a farm in nearby Black Oak community. She graduated from Braymer High School in 1941 and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Wallace McBee, in July the following year.

A long-time Salina resident, Ruby was a devoted wife and mother. She served as a deacon at Sunrise Presbyterian Church and was active in church groups. She sat on the dialysis board at Asbury Hospital, now Salina Regional Medical Center. She had many friends.

Ruby was a talented and industrious homemaker, a charming hostess, a fabulous cook, a prolific gardener, a fine seamstress and quilter, an artistic photographer, a bold traveler, and a savvy bridge player.

She kept the Sabbath faithfully and worshipped her Savior. She faced hardship with grace, and adversity with courage and optimism. Hers was a worthy life.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Cordia Clevenger, her husband, Wallace, her daughter Marilyn Jean, her son Stephen, her brother Irvin Clevenger, and her second husband, Ray Eichler.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally Gutzman of Salina and Jane Shahi of Lawrence, her grandsons, Derek (Becca) Moline of Salina and Cole Moline (Samantha) of Michigan, her stepkids, Tricia Lehane of Scottsdale, Arizona and Ralph (Gayle) Eichler of Teulon, Manitoba, grandchildren Riley, Kayden, Sophie, Kane, Alexander and Victoria, and many cousins and extended family.

With heavy hearts and deep love, we remember Sheila Lorraine Heart, who passed peacefully on November 3rd, joining her beloved husband of 40 years, Cecil Heart, and her sons Carl, Cecil Jr. (Buddy), and Rodney in the embrace of heaven. 

Sheila was born on March 8th, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, one of eight siblings. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and unwavering compassion. For 40 years, Sheila shared a beautiful life with Cecil until his passing in 2004. In the years that followed, she filled her days with the things that brought her joy: her faith, her family, her cherished church, and the friends who became family. Known for her devotion to the Bible, she found comfort and wisdom in its words, which she loved to listen to. 

Sheila’s home was always filled with the warmth of family dinners, the beauty of spring flowers she adored, and the laughter of little children she cared for as a devoted babysitter, foster mom, and grandmother to many. Sheila was a loving mother to six children and delighted in being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She held Bible studies in her home, where her love for her faith and community shone brightly. Her generous heart extended beyond her family; she welcomed countless children into her life, becoming a second mother or grandmother to those who needed one. 

Sheila is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Sandra &amp; Mike Hollenback of Gillette, WY and Lisa &amp; Duane McGowen of Junction City, KS, her son Thomas Heart of Gillette, WY, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous others who lovingly called her “Mom” or “Grandma.” She was deeply loved, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

James better known as Jim worked as a sheriff deputy and as a realtor. He loved spending his time fishing and being around his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Priscilla Morris, brother Thomas Morris, and his son Jason Morris.

Survivors include his Granddaughter Megan Busenitz husband Jed and their children Ava and Audrey of El dorado. Grandson Justin Morris and his children.

Ronald Paul Fredrickson, 84, of Courtland, Kansas, passed away at his home on November 6, 2024. He was the middle child, born on July 21, 1940, in rural Courland to Paul and Clarice (Nelson) Fredrickson.

Ron started his education in a country school before attending school in Courtland schools where he graduated from Courtland High School in 1958. While in high school, Ron had had a small hog operation and helped Loren Austin as a farm hand. After graduation, he joined the Kansas Bostwick Irrigation District in 1961 where he enjoyed a 48-year career, retiring in 2006.

On June 4, 1971, he was united in marriage to Rosanna Larson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas. They were married until her death in 2014. This union brought two sons, Jon and Jeremy.

He was an active member of the Courtland United Methodist Church and served on various functions.

Ron enjoyed farming and working on projects where he could run the excavator. He rarely missed a Sunday at church or a KU or K-State game on TV. He was most proud of his grandson Carter and spoiled him every chance he could.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanna Fredrickson, his parents, and his brother, Reverend Jimmie Fredrickson. Ron will be missed by his sons Jon Fredrickson, Duluth, MN, and Jeremy Fredrickson (Amanda), Scandia, KS; grandson Carter Fredrickson; and sister Janice (Tom) Chandler; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and a community of friends.

He was the middle child, born on July 21, 1940, in rural Courland to Paul and Clarice (Nelson) Fredrickson.Ron started his education in a country school before attending school in Courtland schools where he graduated from Courtland High School in 1958. While in high school, Ron had had a small hog operation and helped Loren Austin as a farm hand. After graduation, he joined the Kansas Bostwick Irrigation District in 1961 where he enjoyed a 48-year career, retiring in 2006.On June 4, 1971, he was united in marriage to Rosanna Larson at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas. They were married until her death in 2014. This union brought two sons, Jon and Jeremy.He was an active member of the Courtland United Methodist Church and served on various functions.Ron enjoyed farming and working on projects where he could run the excavator. He rarely missed a Sunday at church or a KU or K-State game on TV. He was most proud of his grandson Carter and spoiled him every chance he could.He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosanna Fredrickson, his parents, and his brother, Reverend Jimmie Fredrickson. Ron will be missed by his sons Jon Fredrickson, Duluth, MN, and Jeremy Fredrickson (Amanda), Scandia, KS; grandson Carter Fredrickson; and sister Janice (Tom) Chandler; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and a community of friends.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Courtland United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandra Jellison-Knock and Pastor Kathy Aeillo officiating.Visitation will take place at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are requested to the Courtland United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of Tibbett-FischerFuneral Home, P.O.
