Lawrence Wayne Spohn, 83, of Marquette, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, surrounded by family at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born on February 19, 1941, in McPherson, KS, the son of Leo Ray and Helen LaMae (Anderson) Spohn.&nbsp; Lawrence graduated from Windom High School in 1959.&nbsp; On April 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Saundra Kay Johnson at the Andover Lutheran Church, Windom.&nbsp; This union was blessed with three children, Tina, Jerry, and Tom.

Lawrence worked at the Marquette Grain Elevator (ADM) for over 42 years.&nbsp; He was a member and Past President of the Marquette Saddle Club, Board Member and Past President for DS &amp; O Rural Electric, and Past President of the Marquette Senior Center Board.&nbsp;

Survivors include his loving wife of over 62 years, Saundra of the home; children, Tina (Chris) Dauer of Falun, KS, Jerry (Marilyn) Spohn of Marquette, KS, and Tom (Virginia) Spohn of Marquette, KS; four brothers, Ross (Effie) Spohn of Westmoreland, KS, Cary (Pauline) Spohn of Newton, KS, Raymond (Leslie) Spohn of South Daytona, FL, and Doyle (Pat) Spohn of Holton, KS; six grandchildren, Sarah (Chris) Lohrey, Logan (Emily) Spohn, Jodi (Jonathan) Reazin, Josh (Britta) Dauer, Lori (Gabe) Dierksen, and Quaid (Tyann) Spohn; 13 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The family will receive friends&nbsp;from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2024, at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held&nbsp;at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 17, at Elim Lutheran Church with Pastor Amy Kay Pavlovich officiating.&nbsp; The final resting place will be in Marquette Cemetery.&nbsp;

Peggy Kiser, age 72, was born Margaret Anne Butler in Hebron, Nebraska, on January 16, 1952, to Ken and Bette Butler and protective brothers Kayo and Bill. Peggy received her wings on Sunday, December 8, 2024, and has taken flight to join all the other angels in heaven. Twenty years later, she became a proud mother to her daughter, Amee Dawn, and later to her son, Michael Dominick Urich.

When Peggy was young, her father introduced her to the art of restoring furniture and upholstering. Soon, she and her father landed a job at the popular downtown Hilton Hotel, restoring furniture in the rooms, lobby, and bar areas. She kept busy with many jobs and enjoyed working not only on furniture but also on cars. She was especially excited when she had the opportunity to help restore an antique Bentley for a local owner.

Peggy met Jim, the love of her life, and they were united in marriage in the summer of 1984. They later started the business PJ’s Upholstery. Before long, they began working with a local business to provide protective padding for basketball score tables used by major colleges nationwide. Peggy and Jim worked as a team, and customers often commented that Peggy’s upholstery work was the best. In the spring of 2019, Peggy retired after over 38 years due to advancing dementia.

Family and friends struggled with Peggy’s health challenges but stayed upbeat with her ever-present smile and short bursts of laughter. Peggy was able to remain at home over these years, with Jim by her side as her loving care provider. Something as simple as a smile can have an unbelievable influence on our lives. Peggy’s smile certainly did, and we love and thank her for that great gift.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Jim Kiser; children, Amee Quiriconi, Michael Dominick Urich, Nikole Greene, Jesse Kiser, and Jamie Kiser; brothers, Kenneth Butler Jr. and William Butler; and many loving grandchildren, family, and friends.

She did her best to create heaven on earth with Jim during the 40 years they were married. She lived for each day and made sure each one counted. There are so few like Peggy that we will meet in life on this earth. May God bless Peggy, a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on her next journey, knowing we will meet again.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at Ryan Mortuary. &nbsp;

BAYTOWN, TX -&nbsp;Trace Hunter Cutbirth, 28, formerly of Salina, died November 26, 2024 in Baytown, Texas. &nbsp;He was born December 19, 1995 in Salina.

Trace attended Salina Central High School where he participated in football, wrestling, and track. &nbsp;He enjoyed drawing and spending time with his family. &nbsp;

He is survived by his mother, Kelly (Cutbirth) Black (J.P. Stevens) of Salina; father, Micheal Sharp (Jaclyn); sister Wynter Sharp; brother, Layton Hansen all of Idaho; grandfather, Gary Cutbirth; grandparents, Steve and Deby Muller all of Salina; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. &nbsp;Trace was preceded in death by grandparents, Shirley and Eddie Sharp. &nbsp;

Linda Joyce (Jasso) Komlofske&nbsp;passed away on Thursday December 5, 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;She was born on October 4, 1951, in Tahoka, TX to Severino and Rosa (Deleon) Jasso.

She resided in Salina with her husband of 35 years Joesph Komlofske. She worked as a health care professional/ Activity director. &nbsp;

Linda was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and an active member of The Daughters of Isabella in Garden City, KS.

She is survived by her husband, daughter Rebecca Harvey and son Johnathan Adam, six grandchildren and a great-grandson. Two sisters, two brothers and a bunch of nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and an older sister Mary (Gomez) Rodriquez.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 5-7 pm at Ryan Mortuary in Salina.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Tahoka, TX.

Forrest "Rob" Koob, 61, left this world to be with his lord and savior on Monday, December 2, 2024.&nbsp; He was born in Oklahoma City on August 18, 1963. Forrest loved NASCAR and dirt track racing, at one time owning his own race car. He loved shooting pool and was a part owner and operator of R&amp;R Karaoke in Hutchinson, KS. He loved to sing and encouraged others to join in.

Forrest was a member of Heartland Worship Center and for a while worked on their sound system.&nbsp; For most of his life, Forrest was an over the road trucker and loved traveling the county. Until health issues sent him into early retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jan and Albert Koob Jr. of Wichita, KS.&nbsp; Forrest is survived by his brothers, Shannon Koob and wife Kim, and Tim Koob all of Wichita; two sons, Devin Osborne and wife Kassidy of Kanopolis, KS, and Randall (Scott) Osborne and wife of Oklahoma. He is leaving behind 9 grandchildren, aunts, uncles and many dearly loved cousins, ex-wife and best friend, Kathlyn Koob of Salina and his beloved cat Oliver.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Heartland Worship Center, Salina.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the Heartland Worship Center.&nbsp;

Gaylene Ann (Deines) Lindsay, 91, of Brookville, KS, passed away at Salina Regional Health Center on December 5, 1924. She was born to Esther and Sieghardt Deines in Salina, Kansas, on December 5, 1933. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and remained an active member there throughout her life. She attended South Park Grade School, graduated from Salina High School in 1951, and graduated from Marymount College with a Bachelor’s in Biology in 1955.&nbsp;

She met Charles Lindsay on a blind date, and their love grew through handwritten letters during a long-distance relationship, which resulted in a lifetime of love. They were married in 1956, and this loving union brought about four children—Luke, Brian, Kate, and Paul.&nbsp;

Gaylene was known for her radiant spirit, love of nature, and uncanny ability to find joy in the simplest moments. As the originator of ‘Moon Alert’ texts, she shared her passion for the sky—whether clouds, sunsets, or the quiet magic of the moon—with everyone she met.&nbsp;

In stores, clerks knew her by name and greeted her like an old friend, as she had a gift for making connections wherever she went. She had an exceptional talent for finding the best sales and was always ready with a kind word or a clever remark that brightened the day for those around her.A playful spirit, Gaylene was also known for her love of entering family, friends, and even pet aliases in the KWCH 12 Umbrella Drawing, winning more than 100 times—a true testament to her luck and fun-loving nature. Her quick wit extended to her daily ritual of playing Wordle with her family group and solving the newspaper’s word games, where she often outshone everyone with her cleverness.Survivors include her sister Donna Oliver, children Luke (Jan) Lindsay, Hillsboro, Brian (Cindy) Lindsay, Brookville, Kate Lindsay, Salina, and Paul (Teresa) Lindsay, Olathe. She is also the loving grandmother to Holly (Ben) Dalke, Laura Lindsay (Mike Anslow), Suzy (Sam) Carlson, Steph (Tim) Bremerman, Morgan (Regan) Doyle, Brooke Lindsay, John Lindsay along with great-grandchildren Summer and Charlie Dalke, August and Harrison Carlson, McCoy and Callan Bremerman, Claire and Nolan Doyle. She is loved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.&nbsp;

Gaylene was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and “Slick” Deines, and her husband, Dr. Charles Lindsay.

A service to celebrate Gaylene’s life will be held on December 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 702 S. 9th Street, Salina, KS.&nbsp;

Georgiana "Marie" Wynne-Jewell, 62, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, December 5.

Marie was born in Los Angeles, California on July 27, 1962, a daughter of Maxine Gray and Kenneth Fishburn.

Marie and her husband, Gary Jewell, were married on February 14, 2000.

In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, listening to Coast to Coast, and cooking for her family.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Jewell; sons, Derek Wynne, Shawn Wynne (Jolene); daughter, Nadine Wynne; sisters, Anita Fishburn- Martin (Glenn), Paula Fishburn- Arroyo; and brother Michael Fishburn.

She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Rose, Brooke, Joseph, Jackson; one great grandchild, Leland; two step grandchildren; 16 nieces and nephews, and numerous other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leonard Fishburn; daughter, Ashley Stafford; and step son, Travis Jewell.

Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned at this time.

Ruby F. McBee passed away peacefully at Presbyterian Manor in Salina, Kansas on November 6, 2024. She was 101 years old.

Ruby was born in Braymer, Missouri on October 9, 1923 and grew up on a farm nearby in the Black Oak community. She graduated from Braymer High School in 1941 and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Wallace McBee, in July the following year.

A long-time Salina resident, Ruby was a devoted wife and mother. She served as a deacon at Sunrise Presbyterian Church and was active in church groups. She sat on the dialysis board at Asbury Hospital, now Salina Regional Medical Center. She had many friends.

Ruby was a talented and industrious homemaker, a charming hostess, a fabulous cook, a prolific gardener, a fine seamstress and quilter, an artistic photographer, a bold traveler, and a savvy bridge player.

She kept the Sabbath faithfully and worshipped her Savior. She faced hardship with grace, and adversity with courage and fortitude. Hers was a worthy life.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Cordia Clevenger, her husband, Wallace, her daughter Marilyn Jean, her son Stephen, her brother Irvin Clevenger, and her second husband, Ray Eichler.

She is survived by her daughters, Sally Gutzman of Salina and Jane Shahi of Lawrence, her grandsons, Derek (Becca) Moline of Salina and Cole Moline (Samantha) of Michigan, her step kids, Tricia Lehane of Scottsdale, Arizona and Ralph (Gayle) Eichler of Teulon, Manitoba, grandchildren Riley, Kayden, Sophie, Kane, Alexander and Victoria, and many cousins and extended family members.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until the service begins at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, both at the Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel; 1920 E. Crawford, Salina, KS 67401. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Christopher Timothy Smith of Wichita, Kansas, passed awayat home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He was bornJuly 17, 1954,in Frankfurt, Germany,the son of Edward Joseph and Justine(Mulhearn)Smith.&nbsp;He later became a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Chris&nbsp;graduated from&nbsp;Salina&nbsp;High School South&nbsp;(Kansas)&nbsp;with the class of 1972.

He&nbsp;served in the U.S.&nbsp;Air Force&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;Kansas&nbsp;Air National Guard, retiring from both. &nbsp;He&nbsp;was employed with Southwestern College&nbsp;Professional Studies&nbsp;as&nbsp;Coordinator of Military Education.&nbsp;He was passionate about assisting Veterans in furthering their education.

Chris&nbsp;was united in marriage&nbsp;in&nbsp;2013&nbsp;with Tammy&nbsp;Ann Smith of Wichita, KS.

Chris’ Irish sense of humor was often&nbsp;on display among his family and friends, who were very important to him, whether at a family gathering, a work event, or a golf&nbsp;or bowling&nbsp;outing with his buddies.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was&nbsp;an&nbsp;ardent fan of KU basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lorna Jones Putnam, 81, Minneapolis, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024, in Minneapolis. Lorna was born January 8, 1943, in Kansas City to Martin and Norma (Roether) Schmedemann.&nbsp;

Lorna worked as a housekeeper for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joanna Jones; and siblings, Bobby, Richard, Wayne, and Jane.

Survivors are her children, Becky Karabinas and Frank Jones; sister, Judy Murrison, and a host of grandchildren.

Matthew “Matt” James Howell, 39, of Formoso, Kansas passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Hilltop Lodge Nursing Home in Beloit, Ks surrounded by his loving family after a brief but courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born on May 1, 1985 in Salina, Kansas to James and Nancy (Weir) Howell. Matt Grew up in Formoso, Kansas and graduated from Mankato High School in 2003. Once graduated he attended Fort Hays State University and majored in Criminal Justice.

Matthew was a gentle giant and loved people but especially animals. He also loved Notre Dame Football, professional wrestling, and gaming. During Jr high and high school Matt played the center for the Cougars, and threw the shotput and discus for the track team. He was especially good at throwing the discus.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Jim and Nancy Howell, Formoso, Ks; a sister, Melissa Herrman (Michael), Great Bend, Ks and their two children Jacob and Ashley Herrman.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldon and Theresa Howell, and Jimmy and Beverly Weir; Aunt and Uncle Martha and Rodger Barrett; and Matt's family dogs Blue and Ellie Mae which were Dachshund’s..

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday,&nbsp;&nbsp;December 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Formoso Community Church in Formoso, Kansas with Pastor Daniel Waide officiating. Family would like everyone to dress casually.

Matthew “Matt” James Howell

John William Clapsaddle Sr. of Gypsum, Ks, passed away at Cedarhurst of Salina with his loved ones December 1st, 2024. John was born at Camp Stoneman in California to Bill and Donna (Kelley) on March 29, 1945.&nbsp; He graduated from Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California. After high school he served in the Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years. During this time, he married former wife Penne (Greer) Clapsaddle and welcomed two children John Clapsaddle Jr. &amp; Michele (Oard).

John worked as a serviceman at the City of Longbeach Gas Department for many years after his time in the service. In 1980, John decided he wanted to replant his roots back in Gypsum, Kansas, where his family originated. He purchased a farm to raise his family and continued to grow his operation through the years. He met many lifelong friends through his careers, some he viewed as extended family. John always had a farmer mentality. He would drop anything to go and help a neighbor in need without asking for anything in return.&nbsp;

In 2003, John then married Christine (Carl) Clapsaddle with friends and family surrounding them. He gained a son Brett Wilson (Lindsey) and daughter Lindsey Sibley (Lance). He and Chris spent much of their adult life traveling while not on the farm.&nbsp;

John was a man of great knowledge and was eager to gain friendships wherever he went. He held many roles in his community including serving as a Board Member for the Southeast of Saline School District and Farm Bureau.

John is preceded in death by his late parents, Donna (Kelley) and his father William “Bill” Clapsaddle. His mother-in law Donna Johnson and son-in-law Jeff Oard.&nbsp;

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 21 years, Christine (Carl) Clapsaddle, his step-son Brett Wilson (Lindsey) and grandchildren Brynn &amp; Maddox Wilson, step-daughter Lindsey Sibley (Lance) and grandchildren Addison &amp; Jake Sibley; his sister Patricia Van Otterloo (Alvin),&nbsp;father in law, Marvin Johnson, and nephews Todd Van Otterloo (Mary) &amp; their son Jack, Ryan Van Otterloo (Jenna) &amp; their children Kelley and Alex, his son John Jr. Clapsaddle, his daughter Michele Oard (Jeff) and granddaughter Alicia Cox (Christopher), his 4 great-grandchildren Carson, Boyce, Blake, &amp; Charlotte Cox. He leaves many cousins and beloved friends.

John’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, Kansas, with a light lunch to follow. He gained a son Brett Wilson (Lindsey) and daughter Lindsey Sibley (Lance). He and Chris spent much of their adult life traveling while not on the farm.&nbsp;John was a man of great knowledge and was eager to gain friendships wherever he went. He held many roles in his community including serving as a Board Member for the Southeast of Saline School District and Farm Bureau.John is preceded in death by his late parents, Donna (Kelley) and his father William “Bill” Clapsaddle. His mother-in law Donna Johnson and son-in-law Jeff Oard.&nbsp;He leaves behind his beloved wife of 21 years, Christine (Carl) Clapsaddle, his step-son Brett Wilson (Lindsey) and grandchildren Brynn &amp; Maddox Wilson, step-daughter Lindsey Sibley (Lance) and grandchildren Addison &amp; Jake Sibley; his sister Patricia Van Otterloo (Alvin),&nbsp;father in law, Marvin Johnson, and nephews Todd Van Otterloo (Mary) &amp; their son Jack, Ryan Van Otterloo (Jenna) &amp; their children Kelley and Alex, his son John Jr. Clapsaddle, his daughter Michele Oard (Jeff) and granddaughter Alicia Cox (Christopher), his 4 great-grandchildren Carson, Boyce, Blake, &amp; Charlotte Cox. He leaves many cousins and beloved friends.John’s memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, Kansas, with a light lunch to follow. On December 2, 2024, Maria Dolores Gardea Granados, who resided in Salina, Kansas, lost her fight against cancer.

Mrs. Maria Dolores Gardea was born on March 8, 1947 in Torreon Chihuahua, Mexico. She received her education in Sauz Chih and worked in the Gastronomy Area until her retirement.

In her Catholic faith he regularly attended the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Salina, Kansas.

After spending most of her life in Chihuahua, Mexico, she moved to the United States to be with her family.

She was a happy woman, she enjoyed music and she loved painting, knitting, gardening, plants, flowers, crafts. She was a creative, intelligent woman who always sought the well-being and safety of her family.

She was a Woman of Faith, strong and Independent.  Her grandchildren will miss her because she was a light to them, and they called her “Sunshine.”

Leaving behind three daughters, Maria D’ Gardea, Alba Yudith Gardea (Joselus Montoya), and Aida Aly Gardea; her eight grandchildren, Itzel, Leonardo, Patricia, Omaira, Ivanol, Renata, Varleria, Sebastian and her special nephews Sergio Gardea, Mayra Gardea.

Precededher in Death; Her Mother Piedad Gardea, and her sisters, Maunela Cardona, Ramon Gardea, Berndbe Gardea and her nephew Oswaldo Gardea.

Jack Duane McChesney, 93, of Clay Center, Kansas, passed away on December 4, 2024, with his wife of more than 72 years by his side. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Jack will always be remembered for his good coffee and his kindness and willingness to help those in need, even strangers.

Born on June 5, 1931, on a farm near&nbsp;Narka, Kansas. Jack was the son of John and Ella (Saip) McChesney. Jack shared the family farm with his three brothers and one sister Chester "Chet", Warren, James "Jim", and Neva. Jack graduated from&nbsp;Narka&nbsp;High School in 1950 and entered the U.S. Air Force where he served as B36 mechanic from 1951 to 1955.

Jack attended junior college in Fairbury, Nebraska and Emporia State Teacher's College, following his discharge from the Air Force where he earned his teaching degree. He also went on to attain his master’s degree from Emporia. Jack's first teaching experience was at Centre High School near Herington, Kansas. From there, Jack and his family moved to Belleville, Kansas where he taught science and math; he later moved his family to Hamilton, Illinois, where he taught junior high science in Keokuk, Iowa, so his wife could complete her college education. Finally, in 1971, Jack moved his family to Clay Center, Kansas, where he taught chemistry and physics at the Clay Center Community High School for the remainder of his teaching career. Jack believed that every child had potential, and he sought to help as many young minds as he could.

On June 22, 1952, Jack married the love of his life, Eleanor Fry. To this union, four children were born: Patricia&nbsp;Obourn(husband Malcolm "Mac"); Vicki Streit (husband David); James "Jim" (wife Kathy); and Bryan (wife Lisa). He was also the loving grandfather to Jennifer Willis, Chelsea McChesney, Alexandra McChesney, Kellen Berkenpas, Rebecca&nbsp;Obourn, and Robert&nbsp;Obourn&nbsp;along with great-grandfather to Mikaylin Willis, Jalen Mason, Parker Berkenpas, Kale Shumate, Aurelia&nbsp;Chastangner, and Frances&nbsp;Obourn. In addition to his love of family, Jack also had a love of animals, especially his dogs. His hobbies included flying, even building and flying his own Kit Fox airplane.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ella McChesney, his brothers, Chester,

Warren, and James; his sister, Neva Joy Hermes; and a great-grandson, Archer&nbsp;Chastangner.

A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 1330 15th St, Clay Center, Kansas with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.&nbsp;

All are welcome the family requests guests dress in casual attire.&nbsp;

Visitation will&nbsp;be&nbsp;Friday, December 6, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. &nbsp;at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, 918 7th Street, Clay Center, Kansas.&nbsp;

Jack Duane McChesney

Donna Jean Kroeker, 87, passed away December 2, 2024, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born November 30, 1937, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Albert J. and Sarah Ediger Regier. Donna graduated from Buhler High School and went on to get her associate’s degree in education from Bethel College. In addition to being a homemaker and farm wife, Donna worked for Gregory, Inc. in Buhler for 17 years prior to retiring. Donna was an active member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, where she enjoyed singing, Friendship Circle and her ladies Sunday School class. She especially cherished time with family, attending countless activities for her children and grandchildren.

On December 1, 1957, she married John W. Kroeker at the Buhler Mennonite Church. They shared 67 years of marriage.

Donna is survived by her husband John; her children, Loren (Kathy) Kroeker, Inman, Mark (Andrea) Kroeker, Salina, Lyle (Julie) Kroeker, Salina, and Lisa (Justin) Jensen, Hutchinson; sisters, Renetta (Elmer) Kroeker, Inman, Jan (Alvin) Kroeker, Inman, and Sylvia Schmidt (Ken Meyer), Wichita; sister- in-law, Ella Regier, Newton; grandchildren, Andrew (Caitlin) Kroeker, Daniel Kroeker, Matthew Kroeker, Kelsey Kroeker, Kyle (Anna) Kroeker, Katy Kroeker, Kaleb Kroeker, Karly Kroeker, Nathan (Michaela) Kroeker, Timothy Kroeker, Landon (Paige) Stucky, Mallory (Tyler) Cottam, Colton Stucky and Caden Stucky; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Christopher Dean Rorabaugh

Ronald Eugene Currie, age 77, entered into rest on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation in KC, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ronald was the first child of Merle E. &amp; Helen (Regnier) Currie.&nbsp;

He attended his first five years of grade school at District 28 rural school, where his great grandfather lived.&nbsp;&nbsp;He graduated from Hopewell rural school and was a 1965 graduate of Concordia High School and went on to graduate from Cloud County Community College in the first graduating class.&nbsp;

He drove a school bus while attending CCCC and then worked for the US Post Office for 12 years and farmed with his father.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 1979, he built an underground home near his parents, and in October 1981, he moved to Kansas City, where he was employed by J&amp;L Construction.&nbsp;&nbsp;He then owned and operated his own construction company called C&amp;R Construction.&nbsp;

Ron enjoyed playing pool and cards, mostly pitch.&nbsp;

He is survived by his sister, Sheryl Williams (Dennis), Concordia, KS; nieces &amp; nephew, Jason Williams (Nancy) and their children, Jace Williams (Allexis Menghini) &amp; Josie Armstrong (Brooks); Julie Redden (Stephen) and their children, Garrett, Brooks &amp; Sydney and Jana Roush (Corey) and their children, Tyson, Taryn &amp; Jaylin and a host of cousins, other family and friends.&nbsp;

Friends may sign the register book&nbsp;from 1-5 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2024&nbsp;at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS.&nbsp;

 </figure>Ronald Eugene Currie, age 77, entered into rest on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Riverbend Post Acute Rehabilitation in KC, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ronald was the first child of Merle E. &amp; Helen (Regnier) Currie.&nbsp;He attended his first five years of grade school at District 28 rural school, where his great grandfather lived.&nbsp;&nbsp;He graduated from Hopewell rural school and was a 1965 graduate of Concordia High School and went on to graduate from Cloud County Community College in the first graduating class.&nbsp;He drove a school bus while attending CCCC and then worked for the US Post Office for 12 years and farmed with his father.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 1979, he built an underground home near his parents, and in October 1981, he moved to Kansas City, where he was employed by J&amp;L Construction.&nbsp;&nbsp;He then owned and operated his own construction company called C&amp;R Construction.&nbsp;Ron enjoyed playing pool and cards, mostly pitch.&nbsp;He is survived by his sister, Sheryl Williams (Dennis), Concordia, KS; nieces &amp; nephew, Jason Williams (Nancy) and their children, Jace Williams (Allexis Menghini) &amp; Josie Armstrong (Brooks); Julie Redden (Stephen) and their children, Garrett, Brooks &amp; Sydney and Jana Roush (Corey) and their children, Tyson, Taryn &amp; Jaylin and a host of cousins, other family and friends.&nbsp;He was preceded by his parents.&nbsp;Friends may sign the register book&nbsp;from 1-5 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2024&nbsp;at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, KS.&nbsp;Memorial services will be&nbsp;at 11:00 am, Friday, December 6, 2024&nbsp;at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas, with Pastor David Redmond officiating. Geraldine “Gerri” Wehrli, formerly of Stockton, Kansas, passed away on November 26, 2024, at the Phillips County Retirement Center in Phillipsburg, Kansas, at the age of 95. She was born on November 8, 1929, to James “Jim” and Bonnie (Montgomery) Lantz in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was married to John L. Wehrli on August 14,&nbsp;1947,&nbsp;in Russell, Kansas. He passed away on September 4, 2018.

Gerri grew up in&nbsp;Keifer, Oklahoma&nbsp;and graduated from&nbsp;Bunker Hill&nbsp;High School in&nbsp;1947.&nbsp;After completing her education,&nbsp;she&nbsp;worked for&nbsp;several&nbsp;years at the Rooks County Treasurer’s office&nbsp;and&nbsp;many years for E. Charles Hageman at H. C. Sweet Abstract Co. in Stockton.&nbsp;She was known for her diligent work ethic and dedication.

Outside her professional life, Gerri had a wide range of interests that brought her joy. She was an avid reader, always with a book in hand, and had a passion for learning and exploring new stories. Her competitive spirit&nbsp;was evident&nbsp;in her love of games, whether playing pitch, dominos, or Yahtzee, she found great enjoyment in friendly competition. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Chinese checkers with her father, where she delighted in the challenge of trying to win against him.

Gerri is survived by her son, Gerald (Pat) Wehrli&nbsp;of Plainville;daughter, Dereth “DJ” Claycamp of Goodland; brother, Don Lantz&nbsp;of&nbsp;Olathe;&nbsp;three&nbsp;grandchildren,&nbsp;Christopher (Jackie) Wehrli,&nbsp;Lonnie Claycamp and Adam (Michelle) Wehrli;&nbsp;three&nbsp;great-grandchildren, Savannah Wehrli, and twins, Cole&nbsp;Wehrliand Riggins Wehrli;&nbsp;and many nieces and nephews in Oklahoma.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Bonnie;husband, John;&nbsp;brother, Jack Lantz;&nbsp;and sister, Mary Jane Lantz. &nbsp;

Randall Bradley Hiechel, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024, in Salina, Kansas, at the age of 34. Born on April 21, 1990, in Holton, Kansas, Randall was a beacon of warmth and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life, though too short, was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to his family.

Randall was the beloved son of Amanda Sue Macklin and Richard Eugene Tripp, and the proud son of George Martin Hiechel and Julie Gail Hiechel. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Tripp, and his paternal grandparents, Francis and Harrison Tripp and Donald Hiechel. Randall is survived by his loving siblings, David Hiechel (Vicki), Kimberly Hiechel (Merlan), Samuel Hiechel (Shai), Don Hiechel, Lyle Workman (Chrystal), and Roy Workman (Alice). He was also a devoted uncle to his nephew, Zaden Dawson, and his niece, Scarlett Hiechel. Randall's legacy continues through his ex-wife, Meanna Laurin, and his stepdaughter, who both hold cherished memories of him.

A proud alumnus of Quivira Heights High School in Bushton, Kansas, Randall furthered his education at Kansas State University in Salina, Kansas. He was known for his commitment to learning and his ability to inspire those around him. Throughout his career, Randall found fulfillment in his work, particularly at First Choice Security where he created lasting relationships with colleagues and clients alike.

Randall was not just a dedicated worker; he was also a passionate member of the Ragnorak Larp community, where he found joy and camaraderie. He had a profound love for his family and valued the time spent together at family gatherings, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

A service to honor Randall's life will be held on December 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Ryan Mortuary in Salina, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to come and celebrate his life, sharing stories and memories that truly encapsulate the spirit of a man who gave so much love and light.
