It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gene Dudley Priem, a loving father, and grandfather, who passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025, at the age of 85.
Gene was born on a visit to Dayton, Washington, to Herbert and Melinda Priem. Gene was a lifetime resident of Abilene, Kansas. After graduating high school in 1958, he joined the Carpenters Union and went to work at Fort Riley. He later started his own construction business and built many houses in the Abilene/Solomon area.
Gene leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, hard work, humor, and will be deeply missed by his daughter, Gina Priem Millard, son-in-law, Alexander Shawn Millard, and his grandchildren, Rachel Priem Millard and Samuel Priem Millard. Gene was preceded in peace by his daughter, Kimberly Bryant; brother, William (Bill) Priem; sisters, Daisy Morris, Joyce Weber, Linda Baley, Elsie Hayden, Betty Rock, and Anna Skelly.
A memorial service will be 10:00 am Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Danner Funeral Home. His final resting place will in the Abilene Cemetery. The family plans to keep the 4-plex in his honor.
