James L. “Jim” Bettles was born May 7, 1942 near Delavan Kansas the son of Jessie and Marjorie (Platz) Bettles. He grew up in the Wilsey area and graduated from Wilsey High School. On April 5, 1970 he married Patricia Ann Harrison in Abilene. Jim and Patricia made their home in Enterprise where Jim worked for CE/ABB and worked as a part time policeman. Following the closing of CE/ABB, Jim became the police chief of Enterprise where he retired after receiving recognition for 25 years of dedicated service. He was very well respected and honored in his community. Jim was an ornery man who had no shortage of jokes, keys hanging from his belt loop, embellished fish stories and a smile for everyone he met. Jim was a longstanding member of the Shriners/Masons Society as well as the Lions Club. Jim loved fishing, hunting, camping, playing pool and watching sports. He is survived by his children Roger Brock of Herington, Debra (Ryan) Elder of Hope, Sheryl Ward of Abilene, and Michael (Penny) Bettles of Salina, sisters Juanita Roberts of Council Grove, Karen Redding of Waverly, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia in 2006 and his son Steven Bettles in 2009, and his parents Jessie and Marjorie Bettles. Funeral services for Jim will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene with Pastor Stan Norman officiating. His final resting place will be in the Hope City Cemetery with Masonic burial rites. Jim’s family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Jeffrey Dean “Jeff” Scott, 66, of Roxbury passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Salina Regional Health Center.  Jeff was born July 23, 1954 in Salina, KS to the late Aldon “Scottie” and the late Retha (Anderson) Scott.  

Jeff married Amy Johnson on October 14, 1973 in Roxbury.  He was the owner and operator of Scott’s Well Service. Jeff was also a past member of the township board and the water and sewer board for Roxbury.

He is survived by his wife: Amy, of the home; daughter: Nicole Birkes of McPherson, KS; son: A.J. Scott (Diedre) of Roxbury, KS; sisters: Jolene Hilty of McPherson, KS, Janis Ellis of Lindsborg, KS, Jill Scott of McPherson, KS, and Jazell Bersuch of McPherson, KS; brother: Jay Scott of Roxbury, KS; grandchildren: Kirk Barnes, Mia Birkes, Zane Scott, Hank Birkes, Tinley Scott, Wyatt Scott, and Emily Flora; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and sister: Jennifer Jantz.

Phyllis June Goering, 90, of McPherson, KS, passed away at 10:35 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021, peacefully, at Pine Village, Moundridge. Phyllis was born in McPherson, Kansas on August 1, 1930, a daughter of Mildred Helene (Casstevens) and Lester A. Brown. Phyllis attended Roosevelt grade school, McPherson Junior High, and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas, in 1948. She then attended one year at McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas, before transferring to Kansas State University at Manhattan, Kansas, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, McPherson, Kansas. Phyllis was baptized upon her confession of faith at McPherson Methodist Episcopal Church and transferred to First Mennonite Church after her marriage to Lyle. She served the church singing in the choir, teaching an adult Sunday school class, and was Chairman of Trustees for eight years. Phyllis was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years she worked in her Dad's grocery store till senior year and then went to work at Hubel's Drug Store and Miller's Printing and Book Store. She later worked at Hinkles Department Store, McPherson Citizen's State Bank in the bookkeeping department, McPherson Farm Sale Barn, and Sterling-Winthrop Pharmaceutical retiring from Sanofi Drug. She was a member of Tri-Delta, Beta Omicron Sorority, Hospice, and Trustee at MCDS for 6 years. Phyllis enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, race walking, and spending time with her family and friends. She also volunteered her time and talent with Hospice, the Red Cross and MCDS. Phyllis June Brown was united in marriage to Lyle Gene Goering on September 15, 1950 at McPherson, Kansas. Georgia Faye Goodheart, 92, of Beloit passed away Tuesday, March 9th at the Mitchell County hospital.

She was born to parents Elbert W. and Eula Maude (Genson) Morrison in Corning, IA on February 13, 1929.&nbsp; The family moved back to Missouri before she was 2 years old.

Georgia, as she was called when young, grew up on a farm near Plattsburg, MO.&nbsp; She graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1947.&nbsp; After high school she lived and worked in St Joseph, MO including jobs at a candy factory and a factory which made Christmas tree lights.

Faye, as she was called for most of her adult life, moved to Russell, KS and worked as a book keeper at the local Studebaker dealership and later the local Cadillac dealership.&nbsp; It was in Russell that she met William H. Goodheart.&nbsp; They were married September 22, 1956.

After living in Russell, Bill and Faye moved, to follow Bill's career, to Prairie View and Beloit, KS, then to Sioux Falls, SD before moving to Rapid City, SD, where they made their home for 32 years.

Faye was active in her churches, helping with funeral dinners and bible studies, especially at Trinity Lutheran while they lived in Rapid City.

She had a great love and talent for sewing.&nbsp; For many years she made most of her family's clothes, including even Bill's suit coats and pants.

In their retirement Bill and Faye were volunteers with the Pennington County Sheriff's department community volunteer program and they enjoyed a few years traveling in the southwest in their 5th wheel camper during winter months.

In 2010, due to declining health, Bill and Faye moved to the Hilltop Lodge Independent Living facility in Beloit, KS to be closer to family.&nbsp; Faye had been living the last couple of years in the Hilltop Assisted Living facility.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband Bill, in 2012, her parents, her brother Elbert, Jr (Bill) and sister-in-law, Lois (Faye) Morrison.

She is survived by her son Todd (Lisa) of Glen Elder, nieces Sherry Farwell (Howard), Kathy Ralston (Trevor) and Kristy Morrison, and nephew Scott Morrison, all of Kansas City, MO, also in-law nephews and cousins on the Goodheart family side, and many friends in all the places she'd lived.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 7 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Beloit. A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Summer Kids Cafe.

Marlene Ann Corpstein was born in Tipton, Kansas, on August 5, 1936, the fifth of the seven children of Leo and Margaret (Koenigsman) Corpstein. She passed peacefully with family by her side at the age of 84 at the Resident Care Center in Beloit, Kansas, on April 2, 2021, after a lengthy, valiant bout with colon cancer.

Marlene graduated from Tipton High School in 1954. After graduation she worked for Hallmark Cards in Topeka. In 1956 she was hired by Southwestern Bell and moved to Wichita. After her 35-year career in management with Bell, now AT&amp;T, Marlene retired. She and her close circle of friends were avid Shocker fans and enjoyed the many activities of the Wichita Ski Club. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.

In 2013, Marlene moved to Tipton to be closer to family. She loved being involved in all aspects of farming, especially harvest times. She artfully decorated her home for every season and took great pride in her summer lawn and flowers. Some favorites of Marlene were reading, fishing, golfing, deer season, playing Texas Hold-em, and going to garage sales and the casino. But most important to her were all family activities and gatherings. Marlene’s love for her family and faith were central to her life. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.

Marlene was beautiful both in spirit and in demeanor. Her kindness, warmth and generosity made her a special friend to many. Her nieces and nephews will cherish “Aunt Marlene” forever.

She passed peacefully with family by her side at the age of 84 at the Resident Care Center in Beloit, Kansas, on April 2, 2021, after a lengthy, valiant bout with colon cancer.Marlene graduated from Tipton High School in 1954. After graduation she worked for Hallmark Cards in Topeka. In 1956 she was hired by Southwestern Bell and moved to Wichita. After her 35-year career in management with Bell, now AT&amp;T, Marlene retired. She and her close circle of friends were avid Shocker fans and enjoyed the many activities of the Wichita Ski Club. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad.In 2013, Marlene moved to Tipton to be closer to family. She loved being involved in all aspects of farming, especially harvest times. She artfully decorated her home for every season and took great pride in her summer lawn and flowers. Some favorites of Marlene were reading, fishing, golfing, deer season, playing Texas Hold-em, and going to garage sales and the casino. But most important to her were all family activities and gatherings. Marlene’s love for her family and faith were central to her life. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.Marlene was beautiful both in spirit and in demeanor. Her kindness, warmth and generosity made her a special friend to many. Gene's life began on October 26, 1925 in Lewistown, MT.&nbsp; He was the son of LeClair William Winfield Obee and Ora Elizabeth (Oursler) Obee.&nbsp; Gene was a 1942 graduate of Burns High School and attended the University of Kansas.&nbsp; He served his country proudly during World War II from November of 1943 until November of 1945 and was a POW. He was united in marriage to the former Marie Melson of April 4, 1948 in Burns. &nbsp;

Gene was in business with his father, and brother with he and his brother working together 29 years.&nbsp; He later worked for the Burns Co-Op and Walton.&nbsp; Gene attended the Burns Community Church (formerly the United Methodist Church), belonged to the American Legion and the 99 Division Association, and supported the POW/MIA organization.&nbsp; He was also the long-time caretaker and record keeper of the Burns Cemetery and very involved in the Burns community.&nbsp; 

His greatest joy was his family which includes his children Donald (Cindy) Obee of Emporia, and Cheryl (Stanley) Smith of Emporia; grandchildren Chad (Danielle) Smith, Kristi Smith, Traci (Joe) Hekele, Erin (Henry) Volante, and Landon (Jenny) Obee; twelve grandchildren, "bonus" daughter Phoebe Janzen and several nieces and nephews.&nbsp; 

Gene passed away on April 1, 2021 at NMC Health in Newton.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marie, daughter in law Dayla, brothers Frederick and Hugh and sisters Dorothy Smith and Ruth Ott.&nbsp; 

His family will gather with friends on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Burns Community Church where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday led by Pastors Steve Hysom and Jim Helzer.&nbsp; Gene will be laid to rest in the cemetery he lovingly cared for following the service.&nbsp;

Raymond C. “Ray” Legleiter, 74, Hays, Kansas, formerly of La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at his home.

Ray was born January 29, 1947, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Michael A.
 and Frances F. (Kreutzer) Legleiter.&nbsp; He was a lifelong resident of 
Rush County, Kansas, before moving to Hays, Kansas, in 2020.&nbsp; A 1965 
graduate of Schoenchen High School, Schoenchen, Kansas, he retired as 
station manager at the Rush Center Co-op, Rush Center, Kansas, after 34 
years.&nbsp; He was then employed at Essex in Hoisington, Kansas, for eight 
years.&nbsp; He spent his remaining work days working part time at the La 
Crosse City Landfill, La Crosse, Kansas.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus Council 2970, both of La Crosse, Kansas.

On May 29, 1971, he married Janice “Jan” Wilcoxson at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas.

Survivors include:&nbsp; his wife, Jan Legleiter, Hays, Kansas; his son, 
Lee Michael “Mike” Legleiter (Randi), La Crosse, Kansas; his daughter, 
Rayna Bittel (Blake), Salina, Kansas; two grandsons, Steven Atteberry, 
and Mason Brackney; a great grandson, Kason Michael Ray Pfeifer; and two
 sisters, Elsie Jacobs, Lakewood, Colorado, and Dorothy Roth, Mulvane, 
Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alvin 
Legleiter, Paul Legleiter, and Gilbert Legleiter; and two sisters, 
Rosanna Herrman, and Cilerina “Sally” Kuhn.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 4, 2021, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
 at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas, with the family 
receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.&nbsp;

Funeral service will be Monday, April 5, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at

She did enjoy going out to breakfast at her favorite places which changed over time as McPherson changed. She particularly enjoyed going to Mr. B’s with her daughter, Samantha, and granddaughter, Talya. She didn’t have many hobbies, but was fond of collecting things, particularly angels. While she could be blunt and opinionated, she also had a soft side. A fierce protector of her loved ones, she had a big heart but was quick to put someone in their place when needed. She loved her family and friends, but had a special fondness for animals, often saying she liked them more than most people. She didn’t have much but when someone was in need, she did what she could to help. Iona is loved and will be missed by her friends and family. Her circle wasn’t large, but it was special. She had a particularly close relationship with her granddaughter, Talya. Talya was the light of Iona’s life and they spent many hours enjoying each other’s company. Learning, playing, creating, and just being. For the last year she struggled with lung, and then brain cancer. She fought hard, and it looked like things were getting better. Apparently, the universe had different plans. Her body became too weak to handle the harshness of the chemotherapy and radiation treatments, but still she fought. She continued the battle until March 28, 2021 at 11:53 PM when she departed this transitory life. The family that was able said their goodbyes that afternoon and are grateful for the gift of being able to do so. Iona was born at her grandmother’s home in St. Joseph, MO to Norman Sr. and Martha Clark. The family moved around quite a bit in the early years. Mainly between Missouri and Kansas. In 1978 they moved to a farm in Arkansas. Iona had said that was the most treasured time in her early life. In 1981, the family moved to Galva, KS where Iona met her first husband, Dennis Snow Jr. Two children were born of this union. The whole family settled in McPherson in 1984. Iona met her second husband, William Wille, in 1990 and they had one son. She’s lived in McPherson with husband Sean Meyer since 2009. She was a retired registered nurse, working at St. Joseph Hospital, Larned and Larned State Hospital. Carol was born on November 17, 1940, in Medicine Lodge, KS, the daughter of Louis and Edna Martha (Warner) Suhler. She graduated from Larned High School in 1958 and received a BSN from Fort Hays Kansas State College. Carol was united in marriage to Leon Ray Fishburn on November 9, 1963, in Larned. Survivors include: her husband, Leon of the home; three children, Sidne R. Erwin (Chance) of Stephenville, TX, Lee Michael Fishburn of McPherson, KS, and Steven Fishburn (Karyn) of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren, Harley Anne Burns, Justin Leon Burns, Cooper Grant Erwin, Kyle Manuel Fishburn, and Connor Leon Fishburn. Duane worked for Agco "Heston Corporation" for many years as a welder. He enjoyed growing his garden at home, tinkering in his shop with his son, building demolition derby cars, hunting and was the all around "Fix-it" man.&nbsp; Duane was easy-going and was always close at hand to help anyone.&nbsp; 

His loving family includes his son Mitchell (Taylor Vogt aka Happy) Neuwirth of Marion, his father Bob Neuwirth of Marion, and siblings Diana Stanfill of Salina and Laurie Brunner of Herington.&nbsp; Duane passed away at his home on Sunday March 28, 2021.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by his mother Rose Mary.&nbsp; 

Duane's family will gather with friends on Saturday April 2 from 2-5 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion.&nbsp; Funeral services will be held at a later date in Pilsen.&nbsp;

Beverly June Hyde, was born in Courtland, Kansas at “Grandma’s House” the second-born of twin girls on November 8, 1925 to J. Oran and Marguerite (Fritzinger) Hyde.

Beverly and her twin sister Shirley Jean grew up in Courtland learning the importance of education. Their father taught them to play cribbage and they were able to count and add before they went to school. After graduating from Courtland High School with the Class of 1943, Beverly and Shirley enrolled at Kansas University in September 1943.

It was war time, and the campus looked more like a naval station than a college campus. The Navy took over the ballroom for a mess hall and they looked for “motherly” type gals to serve breakfast, lunch and supper. Shirley and Beverly and six other co-eds served the supper meal every evening. The administration said it was the girls' “patriotic” duty. It took five years to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.&nbsp;

They spent two and half years in Lawrence and two and half years at the Medical Center in Kansas City. There was no problem finding employment, and they worked at KU Medical Center for five years and then took a year to travel. Beverly and Shirley moved to Denver and the Rocky Mountains where they worked as Registered Nurses until retirement.

Traveling with her parents instilled a lifelong passion to travel as much of God’s beautiful world as one could accomplish. The many travels and cruises opened many horizons all over the world. In 1993 the twins returned to Courtland to enjoy a slower pace of life. Some of the twins' hobbies included a collection of antique cut glass dishes, not for use, but to gleam through the cabinet glass windows, learning bead making and jewelry repair.

Beverly and Shirley had their precious Chinese Chow Chow dogs and St. Peter at the Gates better have an arrangement with “doggie heaven,” so they can take them out for walks. She was an avid follower of the KU Jayhawks and their many pursuits. Music and cooking were also highlights of her life.

Beverly passed away on March 28, 2021, in Belleville, at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 20 days. She is preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister Shirley. She will be forever remembered by her many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., at the Courtland Covenant Church, with Pastor Seth McGregor officiating, burial will follow at Balch Cemetery, rural Formoso. Visitation will be held at the church, one hour prior to the funeral service. &nbsp;

On June 9, 1949 she married Ben Goertz in Durham. She soon joined Ben in running their family business, G&amp;R Implement, as bookkeeper and parts and inventory manager. They worked side by side establishing an award-winning Oliver dealership, setting sales records and were among the top 10 dealerships in the United States for years.

Their success in business however was surpassed by their success in marriage. They shared 54 years of marriage before his death on February 19th, 2004. Anna Mae continued running the business for several years before retiring to spend more time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Anna Mae is survived by daughters; Cynthia Wedel and husband Steve of Abilene, Susan Endres and husband Joe of Emporia, Shelley Klassen and husband Myron of Hesston, 6 grandchildren Ryan Wedel, Stephanie Litton, Erin Endres, Adam Endres, Kyle Klassen and Megan Nieman and 11 great grandchildren, brother Larry Senner and sister Jeanette Schimming. Ronald D. “Frosty” Clegg, age 89, died Sat., March 27, 2021 at the Jewell Co. Hospital, Mankato, KS. He was born on March 21, 1932 in Mankato, KS to Chester T. &amp; Viola I. (Stedman) Clegg.

Frosty grew up in Mankato, KS with 12 brothers and sisters. At age 12 he had his first job setting up bowling pins at the Mankato Bowling Alley. He was a carpenter, trained by his father and specializing in finishing work. He joined the National Guard for six years. His hobbies included motorcycles, tinkering on small engines and mowing the Mankato City Park.

He married Gladys Miller on Aug. 4, 1950 and to this union was born three children, Michael, Patricia and Mari. He later married Joan Golden and she preceded him on Nov. 15, 1998.

He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Helbach (Hilton), Hope &amp; Mari Tyler, Beloit; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Sharon Hunter (Bill), Denver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Clegg; wife, Joan; five sisters and six brothers and one grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 2,2021 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, KS with Pastor Thaddeus Hinkle officiating. The family suggests memorials to the Mankato City Park in care of the funeral home.

Wilma Mall, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in Ellsworth. Born Florence Wilma Knox on January 12, 1931 in Talmage, KS, she was the second daughter to Harry L. “Curly” Knox and Ellen M. “Jim” (Roberts) Knox. With a family of members with nicknames, she would be known as “Panny” to family and friends.

Wilma’s parents bred and raced greyhounds. They moved from Talmage to Abilene, KS to a home on old Hwy 40 where they owned and ran a dog farm. Wilma attended Abilene High School and graduated in 1948. She married her high school sweetheart, Harlan M. “Herb” Mall, on February 5, 1950 in her parent’s home. Two daughters were born to this union, Nancy Kay and Julie Ann.

As a child and an adult, she always volunteered to watch babies and younger children. Even at family reunions or when visiting friends, she was always drawn to the babies. When her daughters were grown and having their own babies, she was always around. She was a much-loved grandmother to five and great-grandmother to 12.

Wilma is survived by her daughters, Nancy (John) DeWeese and Julie Seyfert; grandchildren, Stephanie (Sam) Mills, Christopher (Sharlyn) DeWeese and Heather (Gene) McElroy, Jeremy (Beth) Seyfert and Casey (Amanda) Seyfert; and great grandchildren, Nathan, Austin, and Hannah Mills, Megan and Conner McElroy, Reiley and Gage Seyfert, Grady, Tatum, Crosby, Slade and Sloan Seyfert. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb; and son-in-law, Terry Seyfert.

Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Friday, April 2, 2021 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, Ellsworth.

Burial: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Prairiedale Cemetery, Talmage.

E. Allen “Preacher” Course, Jr., born June 18, 1928 to Ellwood A. Course, Sr. and Jessie (Wormser) Course in Lincoln, KS, peacefully passed away in his sleep March 29, 2021 in Stockton, KS at the age of 92, having lived his life faithfully serving his God, his family, and his country. His reunion with his wife Frances must have been wonderful, but seeing his Savior (whom he loved so much) must have been best of all!

He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. From 1948 to 1952 he served his country as a US Marine during the Korean War. Upon his return from Korea in 1951, he married his sweetheart Frances Jordan. In 1952, having been honorably discharged from the USMC, he attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC to prepare for the ministry. He graduated in 1959 with a BA in the School of Religion. 

He and Frances then moved their family back to Kansas, where he pastored Sun Valley Baptist Church in Vine Creek, KS from 1960-1962, Manchester Baptist Church in Manchester, KS from 1962-1975, and Grace Baptist Church in Chapman, KS from 1975-2008. He also worked for the SS Kresge/Kmart store in Salina from 1960-1990. He loved spreading the Gospel of Christ, spending time with his family and church, and writing poetry.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Frances. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Goodman (Roger) of New Bern, NC; Linda Moore (Mark) of Moore, OK; Lydia Weiss (Jerry) of Greer, SC; Lella Richards (Dale) of Escalante, UT; and Martha Fleck (Brad) of Stockton, KS; grandchildren Joshua A. (Emily), Jeremy, Matthew, Michael (Brittany), Nathan (Christina), Timothy, Sarah (Jon), Caleb (Carol), Joshua J.; great grandchildren Joel, Andrew, Benjamin, Stephen, Olivia, Charlotte, Emmalyn; and his brother Dave Course, as well as many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Services will be held at Abilene Bible Baptist Church, Abilene, KS on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Carson Johnson officiating. Internment will follow at Keystone Cemetery, Manchester, KS. with military honors provided by the United States Marine Honor Guard.

Loren Drake - Loren was born December 1, 1933 on the family farm in Bennington, Kansas to William and Matilda (Reh) Drake and passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021 at the age of 87.

He graduated from Bennington High School in 1951 and spent his career farming in the Bennington area. In the 1960s and 1970s he worked part time at the Bennington Locker Plant. In the 1980s he spent time driving over the road trucks with his friend; Lloyd Sheffler. He was a member of the Bennington Fire Department for more than 30 years.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, brother William and sister Lela Boggs.

He is survived by a son Larry and his wife Diane and dear friends Marvin Ballou, Al Geisen and Clark Rowell.

 </figure><a href="https://www.wilsonfamilyfuneralhome.com/obituary/loren-drake">Obituary | Loren Drake of Salina, Kansas | Wilson Family Funeral Home</a>December 1, 1933 - March 25, 2021 (age 87)Loren Drake - Loren was born December 1, 1933 on the family farm in Bennington, Kansas to William and Matilda (Reh) Drake and passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021 at the age of 87.He graduated from Bennington High School in 1951 and spent his career farming in the Bennington area. In the 1960s and 1970s he worked part time at the Bennington Locker Plant. In the 1980s he spent time driving over the road trucks with his friend; Lloyd Sheffler. He was a member of the Bennington Fire Department for more than 30 years.Loren was preceded in death by his parents, brother William and sister Lela Boggs.He is survived by a son Larry and his wife Diane and dear friends Marvin Ballou, Al Geisen and Clark Rowell.He chose to be cremated and will be interred in the Bennington Cemetery. It is our intent to have a memorial celebration in the near future and a notice will be put out when a date is determined. All will be welcome.
