Duane’s life began on April 8, 1935, the son of William C. and Thelma (Glenn) Biehler in Delavan, Kansas. He graduated from Herington High School Class of 1953.
He started out as a brakeman for the Rock Island Railroad. He farmed, and had chemical training with the military. He then worked for the Corps of Engineers at Milford Lake and Fort Riley. He was an entomologist and pest control manager for 20 years at Fort Riley until retirement in 2003.
Duane loved traveling, camping, fishing for large mouth black bass, hunting and he also enjoyed dancing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse Mary Ann Biehler; life partner Mary Ann Brown; brother Gerald Biehler; sisters Marilyn Anderson and Joyce Trent.
Duane William Biehler passed away, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the age of 86 years old.
His loving family includes his sons and their wives Tim and Karen Biehler, Steve and Cindy Jo Biehler all of Herington, Brad and Beth Biehler of Towanda, Kansas, Chris and Rhonda Biehler of McPherson, Kansas, Ron and Glenna Biehler of Erie, Colorado; life partner Mary Ann Brown’s children Bobbie Ann and Kyle Korgal; sister Margaret Dillon of Abilene, Kansas; brother-in-law Daniel Trent of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
His family will greet friends at St. John’s Catholic Church on Friday, September 3 from 5-7 p.m. Rosary will be held Saturday, September 4 at 10:15 a.m. and Mass at 11:00, both at St. John’s Catholic Church with interment to follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
