Carolyn Lucille Larson, daughter of Harold A. Larson and Mildred S. (Tillberg) Larson, was born March 3, 1943 in Salina, Kansas. She passed from this life Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Salina, Kansas at the age of 78 years.
Carolyn graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1961 and Bethany College in 1965 earning her bachelor’s degree. Carolyn then attended the University of Kansas graduating with a master’s degree in education. In 1968, Carolyn established Four Wonders Pre-Kindergarten at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina, where she was the director and teacher for 46 years.
Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, and being involved in several community organizations. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Choir, WELCA, Salina Association for Education of Young Children, Kansas Association for the Education of Young Children, Delta Kappa Gamma, and chairman of various committees.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mildred Larson and sister Rosanna Fredrickson.
She is survived by her nephews, Jon Fredrickson of Omaha, NE; Jeremy Fredrickson (Amanda Jensen) of Scandia, KS; brother-in-law Ron Fredrickson of Courtland, KS; several cousins; other relatives and a community of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina, KS with pastor Nancy Mitchell officiating. Inurnment to follow at Salemsborg Lutheran Cemetery in Smolan, KS at 1:00 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Foundation. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, Kansas will be in charge of these arrangements.
