Evonne M. Moe, age 78, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS. She was born on July 27, 1943 in Concordia, KS to Don E. and Leola M. (Huber) Abbey.
She graduated from Concordia High School class of 1961. She married Eldon E. Moe on June 10, 1962 in Concordia. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2006. They farmed in Thief River Falls, MN for over 40 years before returning to Glasco, KS.
She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries in both Thief River Falls, MN and Concordia, KS. Evonne was passionate about the farming lifestyle, operating the Ortner Steam Engine at Rollag and card playing with her friends.
She is survived by her son James Moe, Vidor, TX; sister Alta Jean Ginn, Great Falls, VA; special friends, Mike and Pam Blochlinger, Concordia and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eldon; her parents and brother Don Abbey.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2021 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Burial will follow at Morrison Cemetery, southwest of Concordia. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., all at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the WMSTR, P.O. Box 627, Hawley, MN, 56549 to be used for the Ortner Steam Train.
