Daniel "Dan" Joe Verhoeff February 14, 1983 ~ February 16, 2024

Daniel "Dan" Joe Verhoeff passed away peacefully at Salina Regional Health Center after a short battle with cancer on Friday, February 16, 2024, with his family beside him.&nbsp; He was born in Salina, KS, on February 14, 1983, to Bill Joe Verhoeff and Teresa Joann Gill.

Dan graduated from Salina High School South and also Salina Area Vo-Tech in Auto Body.&nbsp; Dan worked in the parts business over 20 years, spending 13 years with an automotive parts company in Salina, then switched his parts career over to heavy duty trucks.&nbsp; He started with Freightliner in Salina as a parts counter salesman in 2013, soon realizing his knowledge and great qualities, he was promoted to Parts Manager in 2019 for Truck Center Companies.&nbsp; He was passionate about anything with moving parts, engines, and his valued customers.

While Dan could be quiet and reserved, he was always concerned and cared about his customers and whatever needs they had and was always eager to help them.&nbsp; The satisfaction he got out of the parts business was that he could help solve someone's problems and get them back out onto the road while never taking anything in return.&nbsp; When he made up his mind that he was going to do something, he was extremely focused and determined to accomplish whatever task it was with whatever means it took.

Dan was a very intelligent man and loved to research and read about everything. Being an all around handy man, he could fix anything!&nbsp; If you needed information about something, no need to ask Google, just ask Dan!&nbsp; He had a lot of hobbies which included vehicles, motors, watching football, and listening to AM radio. &nbsp;He spent a lot of time in his shop fixing vehicles, most of the time for other people at his own expense.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dan is survived by his father and stepmother, Bill and Lisa Verhoeff of Lone Jack, MO; mother, Teresa Gill of Salina; and sister, Kelly Verhoeff of Cleveland, OH.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth Street, Salina, KS 67401.&nbsp; A small reception will be held there following the service.

Memorials can be made to Make-A-Wish as Dan generously donated to children's charities.

William Anthony Eilert, 35, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 in Wichita, Kansas. William was born October 30, 1988, to Kathleen (Ackerman) Eilert and Mark Eilert at US Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. He was their fourth child of five.

Born to a military family, William moved frequently as a child, first to Tennessee, and then again to Kansas where he began school, attending St. John’s Catholic Schools in Beloit. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, where he studied Engineering, and Manhattan Area Technical College, where he studied Computer Science. William worked as a bartender at Finn’s Neighborhood Pub for several years before finally returning to Beloit to work on the family farm, which he found much to his liking.

William was known for his gentle personality, agreeable demeanor, and brilliant sense of humor. He made fast friends in every walk of life and was quick to volunteer his help to a friend or family member’s personal problem or dizzying home construction project.&nbsp; William proved loyal to a fault, and many friends and family found themselves in his debt as the technical genius quickly absorbed a problem and set to work on their solution. William loved gaming with his friends and siblings, hunting, fishing, and playing with his beloved dog Trout.

Surviving are his parents: Kathleen (Ackerman) Eilert of Park, and Mark Eilert of Beloit, his grandparents: Robert and Alice Ackerman of Park, and Donald and Dolores Eilert of Beloit. He is also survived by his siblings and their families: Kenneth, Jillian, Josselyn, and Thomas Eilert of Indianapolis, Indiana, Matthew, Emma, Charly, Ellie, and Ralph Eilert of Park, Kelly, Manny, Emery, and Isabella Sandlin of Manhattan, and Benjamin, Sadie, Adalynn, Wyatt, and Rylee Eilert of Beloit. His many nieces and nephews held William as a doting and favored uncle.

Rosary and Funeral Services will be held at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. The rosary will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 7 p.m., and Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the rosary on February 20, 2024 at Schoen Funeral Home And Monuments, from 1﹘5 p.m. with family present from 4 - 5 p.m.

James (Jamey) Robert Schallock November 10, 1972 ~ February 9, 2024

James (Jamey) Robert Schallock, 51, of Overbrook, KS died Friday, February, 9, 2024 at his home.&nbsp; He was born November 10, 1972 in Frankfort, Germany the son of Terry Schallock and Sondra (Hayes) Gustin.&nbsp; He attended Overbook Grade School and graduated from the Santa Fe Trail High School with the Class of 1990.&nbsp;

Jamey was united in marriage to Amy Gunnells in September 2002, they later divorced.

Jamey loved to cheer on his favorite team, the Raiders.&nbsp; He also loved his puppy Diamond.

Mr. Schallock was preceded in death by his stepfather, Dale R. Gustin, brother, Brian K. Schallock; and father, Terry Schallock.

Surviving family includes his mother, Sondra Gustin, Overbrook, KS; son, Draven (Abby) Schallock, Oak Grove, MO; two step daughters, Lindsey Ramos (Matt), Topeka, Andrianna Dai (Toby), Wichita; two grandchildren, Myra Ramos and Lian Dai.

Nancy Womochil of Abilene, passsed away February 14, 2024.at Homestead of Abilene (formerly Abilene Place) Nancy was born October 1, 1943 in Abilene to Harold and Mildred Houlton. Nancy attended local schools.

On April 29, 1962 Nancy married Larry Womochil, they later divorced. To this union two children were born. Diane Ferris (Steve) of Abilene and Mike Womochil (Kelly) of Abilene. Nancy worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and worked for the Wilson’s the longest.

Nancy is survived by her children as well as her sister Linda Houlton of Des Moines Iowa and 17 grandchildren. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Houlton, and sisters Thelma Knopp, Phyllis Fager, and Janice Kleinsorge.

Family visitation will be held at Martin Becker Carlson Funeral home Thursday evening February 22 from five to seven p.m. A memorial service for Nancy will be held February 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace United Church of Christ 8th and Buckeye in Abilene. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery south of Enterprise, KS. Nancy Womochil

Ralph Ivan Maddox &nbsp;July 5, 1930 ~ February 15, 2024

Ralph Ivan Maddox of White City KS left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the age of 93 after a short stay at Via Christi Village, Manhattan KS.

Ralph was born July 5, 1930, in New Raymer, CO to Terrell and Jenny (Botts) Maddox. Growing up he worked with his father in a hauling business and later was employed in construction from 1948 to 1952. On July 20, 1950, he married the love of his life, Joyce Todd in Benkelman, NE.

Ralph served as Corporal in the US Army, from 1952 to 1954 and stationed near Cavite City, Philippines, he was notified of the death of his infant son Alan. He was given leave to return to the States and in 1955 they moved to Junction City, KS with their one-year-old daughter, Jan. The couple was also blessed with two sons, Danny and Jeff. In 1969, Ralph moved his family to White City.

Ralph was employed with civil service at Marshall Field, Ft. Riley, KS as Coordinator of Aircraft Maintenance for 27 years, retiring in 1982.

He started painting and remodeling homes in the area until he took a position with White City Schools as head custodian from 1988 to 1992. In 1992, he returned to carpentering to help his daughter and son-in-law build a new home.

Ralph was a volunteer EMT for Morris County Ambulance Service logging over 10,000 hours during his 10 years of service; a volunteer firefighter for fourteen years; served on the White City Council for 8 years; served at the chairperson for the White City Centennial Celebration in 1985; he was a dedicated Red Cross blood donor; served on the board of trustees of the White City United Methodist Church; served on the White City Library board; was member of the Teddy L. Wilde #299 American Legion Post for 21 years where he served as commander for two years and finance officer for six years. More recently, he volunteered at the Rolling Hills Senior Center, White City. Ralph was always willing to help his neighbors and his community. He had a kind heart and was very well-liked by those who knew him well.

He loved woodworking and was an accomplished carpenter. Ralph and Joyce enjoyed bowling, dancing, bingo and playing cards. He was an avid reader of Louis L’Amour. His family kidded him because he should have been a cowboy. Traveling with Joyce to family reunions was always special. He enjoyed spending time with his grand and great grandchildren.Ralph was preceded in death by his infant son Alan, a brother Lynn Maddox, his parents, a sister Shirley Hollars, grandson-in-law Chance Sanderson and wife, Joyce.

Survivors include Children: Jan (Richard) Gustason, White City; Danny (Brenda) Maddox, Marion, KS; Jeff (Kerry) Maddox, White City. Grandchildren: Malia (Jode) Dennison, Branson MO; Kelly Sanderson (fiance Jeff Johnson), Abilene KS; J. Kyle Maddox and Jordan Maddox, White City; Todd Maddox, Marion; Allison Maddox, Overland Park KS; Drew (Ashley) Maddox, Olathe KS; Kandice Orr (fiance Phillip Weir) Ardmore, OK and Michael Gustason, Manhattan KS. Great-Grandchildren: Kylie, Casen, and Corbin Sanderson; Avery and Carter Orr; Avery and Grayson Maddox; a sister, Carole Ann Wurtz, Pueblo, CO; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rudy and Janet Todd, LaSalle CO and Larry and Vonda Brown, Lakewood CO along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

Cremation services are in the care of Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel in Chapman. A Life Celebration will be held for Ralph later this year with a private graveside service to follow.

Richard “Dick” Spracklin January 20, 1943 ~ February 12, 2024

Richard “Dick” Spracklin&nbsp;of Salina peacefully passed away at Salina Regional Health Center Monday February 12, 2024

Dick the son of Elroy and Violet (Naegele) Spracklin was born January 20, 1943, in Fort Riley, Kansas later moving to Sylvan Grove Kansas where he grew up and graduated from Sylvan High school.

Dick had fond memories growing up in Sylvan Grove with all of his aunts, uncles and cousins, the Naegeles.

Dick moved to Salina and was working at a gas station when he met the love of his life, Alma, who lived next door. The two were married and soon after had a son, Tom.

Dick was very proud of his almost 30, year career with the Salina Fire Department as well as his off-duty job installing carpet with Alma working by his side.

Dick had a passion (obsession) for cars. In the mid to late 70’s he began customizing vans then turning to street rods. Dick built from the ground up many old hot rods.

He enjoyed traveling the country with Alma and countless friends going to car shows, showing off his amazing cars and winning many awards. He also enjoyed traveling the countryside with his trusty side kick Paul buying, selling whatever car treasures they could find and sharing his years of car wisdom.

But his main passion was his family. Spending time with Alma, Tom and his grandkids. For their entire school years Dick could be found taking Emily, Lucas and Tanner to and from school and activities.

After Alma’s passing in 2020 Dick took a part time job driving for Conklin’s. He loved his new job and the new Conklin friends he made.

Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife Alma, parents Elroy and Violet Spracklin and sister, Leeann Nelson. He is survived by his children Brenda Mettlen, Cindy (Lee) Soldan and his son Tom Spracklin. Grandkids, Andrew and Logan Mettlen, Daryl Armstrong, Morgan Soldan, Emily, Lucas and Tanner Spracklin.

A memorial service has been planned for Monday February 26 at 10 am at Ryan Mortuary. There will be no procession but if anyone would like to drive their hot rods to the service, I know Dick would have loved it! Please dress casually.

Richard “Dick” Spracklin

Ruth Ann (Brown) Betts, 80, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell.

Ruth Ann was born December 5, 1943 in Russell, Kansas. She was one of two children born to George W. and Clarissa L. (Miller) Brown. She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School in 1961.

Ruth Ann was united in marriage to Gene D. Betts on April 21, 1963 in Russell. This union was blessed with a daughter, Vickie. They made their home in Russell.

Ruth Ann was a devoted wife and homemaker. She also worked as a Clerk for Dawson Pharmacy for many years before working at Burton Pharmacy. Then she worked for USD 407 as a Custodian for Simpson Elementary School. She was also the owner of Playdium Bowl along with her husband Gene, and their daughter Vickie. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Russell. She also was a member of Order of The Eastern Star Russell Chapter #332, where she was a Worthy Matron, the Eastern Star of Hays Chapter #228, Russell VFW Ladies Auxiliary #6240, Russell American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #99 and the Jeffco, Colorado VFW Ladies Auxiliary #1111. She was an avid Coca Cola collector and drinker. She enjoyed sewing, taking classes, doing silk flower arrangements, bowling, playing Bingo, and dominoes.

Ruth Ann’s surviving family includes her husband of 60 years, Gene of the home; daughter, Vickie Hill (Tom) of Russell, Kansas; four grandchildren; Tabitha Seldomridge (Philip), Tiffany Renteria (Jimmy), Thomas Hill, and Trevor Hill (Sarah), and seven great grandchildren with one on the way.

Ruth’s granddaughters have been her pride and joy since they were born, even though she made her daughter Vickie promise she would not make her a grandma until she was 50. Her nickname from her grandkids and her great grandkids was GMA and GGMA. Pepsi was a bad word that was to never be said around Ruth. It was ALWAYS Coke with extra ice. If asked if Pepsi was okay, her response was “Is Monopoly money okay?”

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents; step father, LaVern Brack; and brother, Buddy Obe Brown.

Celebration of Ruth Ann’s Life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. This is a Celebration of Life and Ruth went through life in jeans, so please respect her wishes and come casual to her Celebration. A private burial of ashes will follow at a later time. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Tamyla was born on August 25, 1956, the daughter of Kenneth A. and Bonnie L. (Graham) VanAmburg.&nbsp; She had worked at Ferguson Production, McPherson Senior Center, and at Taylor Mart.

Survivors include: her children, Misty Einfeldt (Jeff Hartzell) of McPherson, KS and Alan Record of McPherson, KS; siblings, Becky Henry (Rick) of McPherson, KS, Darcy Wann (Tom) of McPherson, KS, Randy VanAmburg (Julie) of McPherson, KS, Jana Bitel of McPherson, KS, Cindy Vincent (Keith) of Arizona, and Sherry VanAmburg (Lorin) of California; six grandchildren, Jasmine Reed (Terry), Skyler Einfeldt, Blade Einfeldt, Savannah Record, Dakota Record, and Cody Chrislip; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

Tamyla Gail Sawyers

Roger Joseph Reiter, 66, of Jewell, KS, went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the University of Kansas Health Systems, Kansas City, KS. Roger was born in Beloit, KS, on October 23, 1957 to Arnold Joseph Reiter and Pauline Lucille (Abram) Reiter.

Roger grew up on the farm south of Lovewell Lake until moving to Mankato in 1969. He attended Montrose Elementary until 7th grade. He went to Mankato Junior High and graduated from Mankato High School in 1975.

Roger married the love of his life, Angelia Gail Pierce, on May 28, 1978. To this union four children were born – Bradley Pierce, David Joseph, Cecilia Peggy and Evan Matthew.

Roger held many positions for many people. He was never apprehensive about learning a new trade. He developed his work ethic by working various jobs in Jewell County starting on farms to grocery stores, then onto Dubuque Packing Plant. He earned top salesman and manager position at Superior Motor Parts in Mankato. Upon closing of the NAPA store, he sought employment with Charlie Jacobson when he also began his farming career. He started his first cow herd with his wife in 1986 eventually leading to the start of Gilly’s Gelbvieh, becoming members of the American Gelbvieh Association in 1999.

He was a farmer and rancher who worked hard to provide for his family, a husband who loved his wife, a father who treasured his kids, a grandfather who cherished his grandkids, and a neighbor always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed his time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. He loved them fiercely!

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Pauline Reiter; his brother Don Reiter; his in-laws Cecil and Peggy (Nutsch) Pierce, Wayne “Dink” and Charlene Snyder, Cathy Pierce and Sheila Shoemaker.

Gale William Walle, 85 of Culver Kansas sadly left us on January 24, 2024 surrounded by family at Presbyterian Manor.

Billy Wayne Holder April 1, 1959 ~ February 10, 2024

Billy Wayne Holder, of Salina, KS, passed away peacefully at the age of 64, on February 10, 2024. He was born April 1, 1959, in Anthony, KS, to Elmer and Eleanor (Morgan) Holder.

Billy had to always be on the go. He loved working, watching movies, working in the garden, and raising chickens with his wife Charlene. He served in the Army then later became a carpenter, which he was doing until his passing. He will always be loved and remembered by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Holder; infant sister, Mickey Lynn Holder; son, Tommy Yeadon; and stepdaughter, Michelle Thigpen.

Survivors include his mother, Eleanor Starks; wife, Charlene Yeadon-Holder; children, Mikkie Holder, of Iowa, and Lisa Good (Don), Jamie Yeadon, Edward Yeadon, all of Salina; many stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Holder (Ramona), of Wichita, KS, Kyle Holder (Dene), of Oklahoma, and Gene Holder (Susan), of Liberal, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

Carol Earlene (Rhodig) Duree, 80, died Tuesday February 13, 2024 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.

She was born to Harvy and Iona Rhodig on May 22, 1943 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Aurora Colorado.

Carol married Richard Gale Duree December 28, 1965. They have three children; David, Jonathan, and Rebecca, and shared 58 years of marriage together.

She graduated from Colorado State University in 1967 with a dual degree in Math and Art Education. Carol had a love for teaching and being creative. Over the years this was seen by being a substitute teacher, tutoring a grandson through Algebra, owning The Golden Thimble, and instructing her oldest granddaughter in the art of quilting. She was truly gifted in quilting, drawing, painting, and setting a beautiful table.

Early on in her role as “Maga” she took immense delight in planning creative activities for her grandchildren. In turn, her grandchildren took delight in sneaking individual coffee creamers to drink.

Of the things Carol treasured the most, was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. After professing Christ at an early age Carol served in various ministries within her local church, First Covenant. The Silver Needle quilting quilt and her Tuesday night group, The Block Party, were among her other beloved treasures.

Carol is proceeded in death by her father Harvy and mother Iona Rhodig. She is survived by her husband Richard Duree of Salina Kansas; children: David and wife Shelli Duree of Hutchinson Kansas, Jonathan and wife Christine Duree of Aurora Colorado, Rebecca and Mark Miller of Salina Kansas; her grandchildren: Victoria and husband Aryn Byard, Bethany and husband John Murphy, Joshua Miller and girlfriend Jesse, Julianne and husband Jonny Orpin, Jackson and wife Paisley Duree, Abigail Miller and boyfriend Eric, and Richard Duree;&nbsp; great grandchildren: Jack, Grayson, and Rylee Byard, Madison, Patrick, and John Murphy, Claire and Ingrid Orpin; sisters: Penny and husband David Caughey of Arizona, Kathie and husband Niles Sundstrom of California, and Sue and husband Tollie Johnson of Colorado.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday February 17 at 10:00am at First Covenant Church, 2625 E Magnolia Rd, Salina, KS 67401.

Melvin L. Wood, 76, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024.&nbsp; He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Donnie and Carol Wood. &nbsp;

Melvin served three tours in Vietnam and retired from the National Guard.&nbsp; He met Karen while serving at Fort Riley in 1971. They have lived the last 52 years in Kansas.

He worked in the manufacturing field as a painter and retired from Power Ad 14 years ago. Prior to his death, he worked part time at Dillons on Planet Avenue.&nbsp; Woody (as everyone knew him) loved bowling, fishing, golfing, hunting, corn hole and playing pool with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; sons, Tony Wood (Trisha) and Jamie Wood (Jenner) all of Salina; daughter, Lori Voight (Craig) of Freedom, Wisconsin; brothers, Maynard Wood (Darlene) of Wellington, Kansas, Dwain Wood (Karyn) of Helena, Montana; and sister, Dorothy Wagner of Paulding, Ohio; grandchildren, Carissa Sommerlund (Joe), Tyler Wood (Kelssey), Trevor Wood (Peyton), Trey Wood (Kashia), and Livianna, Alexia and Elizabeth all of Salina, Jacob Wood of Junction City, Trent Wood (Schai) of Chapman, Kansas, Alexis Liles and Allie Voight of Freedom, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Adlee and Wesley (Carissa), Axell and Axten (Tyler), Zaida (Trey), and Willow (Trent).

Terry Eugene Holcomb,62 of Salina, Kansas passed away February 12, 2024 at Pinnacle Park of kidney failure.

Terry was born June 9, 1961, in Summersville, West Virginia. He was the son of Don and Shirley Holcomb.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends. He was always looking for treasures at garage sales. He was a fan of KU basketball and The KC Chiefs.

He was preceded by his mother, Shirley Holcomb and niece Joslyn Kejr.

Surviving family includes, his dad Don Holcomb, siblings, Carolyn (Ken) Kejr of Lindsborg, KS, Cary (Debi) Holcomb of Manhattan, KS Holcomb, Donnie Holcomb of Salina and Laura Holcomb of Salina.

Nieces and Nephew, Tasha Holcomb, Andrew (Brandi) Kejr, Jessica Kejr, Sara Holcomb Guerra, Graci Kejr and AnnaMae Feigle. 4 great nephews, Tyler Machor, Brandon Stroud, Joseph Kejr and Jacob Kejr.

Cremation has taken place. His request is to have his ashes spread in West Virgina later this summer. There will be no service at this time.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Angelia “Angie” Rochelle Tucker, 64, of Moundridge, KS, peacefully passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.

Angie was born on November 26, 1959, in Newton, KS, the daughter of Martin Weaver and Eva June (Amos) Tucker.&nbsp; Following high school graduation, she attended Brown Mackie College in Salina, KS.

She was a secretary and member of the Andover Lutheran Church in rural Windom, KS.

She is survived by her dear friend, Janet Carlson, guardian, Danelle Cavender, and her church family from Andover Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held during church service starting at 9:30 AM, on Sunday, February 18, 2024, with Pastor Anna Borders officiating at the Andover Lutheran Church, 117 Dakota Rd., Windom, KS 67491. The final resting place will be in the Andover Cemetery, Windom.

Lawrence Edward Buell, also known as Larry, passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 62 in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on February 10, 1961, in Ontario, California.

Larry is survived by his stepdaughter, Colleen "Kat" and son in law Michael "Squeak" and his daughters, Sara and Katie. He also leaves behind two cherished granddaughters. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Paula, and his beloved mother.

Gary D. Ashland, age 74, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Salina Regional Hospital, Salina, KS. &nbsp;He was born on June 10, 1949 in Concordia, KS to George S. &amp; Annette I. (Cote) Ashland

Gary was part of the Class of 1968 from Clyde High School since he joined the US Marine Corps on March 7, 1968 and served his country in Vietnam. &nbsp;Upon his return from the Marines, he married Katherine Y. Cossel on March 2, 1970 in Concordia.

Gary worked for Cloud Ceramics as a clay and drill supervisor. &nbsp;Gary was a member of The Baptist Church where he and Kathy served as youth sponsors for several years. &nbsp;Gary enjoyed being with his family and doing anything that would help the youth. &nbsp;He helped for many years with Girl Scouts with Kathy and would always welcome anyone who needed help or to be part of a family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy, Concordia; daughters, Jesse Morgan (Jesse), Terri Ashland, both of Concordia, Stacy Stanford (Lee), Salina &amp; Indigo Ashland, Concordia; sons, &nbsp;Tim Ashland, Marco Ashland (Loretta), all of Concordia; grandchildren, Jamie &amp; Haley Morgan, Tristin &amp; Amanda Morgan, Marissa Morgan, Luke Stanford &amp; Nichole &amp; Michael Ashland &amp; great grandchildren, Alex, Jason, Scarlett &amp; Rain Morgan &amp; Thea Morgan.

Lennie Blixt January 11, 1949 ~ February 9, 2024

Lennie Blixt of Chapman passed away Friday February 9th, 2024 at Ascension Via Christi-Manhattan. Lennie was born January 11, 1949, in Arnold Nebraska, the son of Manfred and Ildie (Wheeler) Blixt.

On February 16, 1979, Lennie married Carole Empson in Abilene, Kansas. They made their home in the Chapman community. Lennie graduated from Arnold High School in 1967 and he then joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his time in the Army Lennie worked at Blixt Construction with his brothers and sister. Later in life Lennie was a civil service plumber at Ft. Riley before his retirement. Lennie was a member of the Chapman American Legion post.

Lennie is survived by his wife Carole of the home, his daughter Jennifer Wadeson and her husband Scott of Junction City, Kansas, his granddaughters Shelbi Mathis of San Diego, California and Kylie Merritt of Tucson, Arizona and his brothers Lyle (Janie) and LeRoy (Tina) Blixt of Chapman and his sister Lydia Blixt of Emporia, KS.

Lennie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry and Leon Blixt, sister Lila Kitch and his daughter Georgi Blixt.

A memorial service will be held on March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 206 W. 5th Chapman, with Pastor Stan Norman. Lennie was a member of the Chapman American Legion post.Lennie is survived by his wife Carole of the home, his daughter Jennifer Wadeson and her husband Scott of Junction City, Kansas, his granddaughters Shelbi Mathis of San Diego, California and Kylie Merritt of Tucson, Arizona and his brothers Lyle (Janie) and LeRoy (Tina) Blixt of Chapman and his sister Lydia Blixt of Emporia, KS.Lennie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Larry and Leon Blixt, sister Lila Kitch and his daughter Georgi Blixt.A memorial service will be held on March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 206 W. 5th Chapman, with Pastor Stan Norman. Dale Louis Yordy February 5, 1940 ~ February 13, 2024

Dale Louis Yordy, 84, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, February 13th, 2024.

Dale was born in Salina, Kansas on February 5, 1940, a son of Dorothy (Tucker) and Daniel Edward Yordy.

He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Salina.

On October 1, 1961, Dale married Martha Collins in Salina.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Yordy; four daughters, Debbie Lorenson (Bryan), Dannette Funk (Doug), Dorothy Hamerman, Dora Wiggins (James), all of Salina, Kansas.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild on the way.

Visitation will be held 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Friday, February 16th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina.

Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am, at the funeral home, with Pastor Greg Savage officiating.

Burial will be at Gypsum Hill Cemetery Salina, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, Dale's wishes were to have donations be made to First Southern Baptist Church, Awana Program or Gentiva Hospice, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.

Mark Abordo Queddeng December 10, 1953 ~ February 2, 2024

Mark Abordo Queddeng, 70, of Ottawa, KS died Friday, February 2, 2024 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas.

He was born December 10, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii the son of Jose and Betty Queddeng.&nbsp; He graduated from Kalalau High School with the class of 1971.&nbsp;

On December 19, 1994, Mark was united in marriage to Angela Teague in Fort Smith, AR.&nbsp; They shared twenty-nine years of loving marriage.

Mark worked as a car detailer, which he thoroughly enjoyed.&nbsp; He loved hot rod cars.

Mark enjoyed going on semi rides with his best friend, Pastor Bell.&nbsp; He loved God and was in love with the Hawaiian culture, such as surfing.&nbsp; He never passed by a single person without making a joke.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Betty Queddeng; and 2 brothers, Kenneth (Blackie) Abordo and Eddie Abordo.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Queddeng; a daughter, Cassie O Keefe; a son, Christopher Teague; a brother, Jose Queddeng and his wife, Lana; 2 sisters, Tillie Apo and Joann Hopps and her husband, Jeff; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Teague and his wife, Terri; a granddaughter, Emma (Sweetie) Pacheco; and many nieces and nephews.
