Rex Dean Copple, 85, Miltonvale, died Thursday, March 13, 2024, in Salina. Rex was born November 27, 1939, in Delphos, to Loyd and Mable Copple.

He and Gayle L. Phillipson were united in marriage on August 18, 1963. They lived in Miltonvale for many years and recently relocated to Salina. Rex was a lifelong farmer, and he wasn’t shy about starting a conversation with a stranger. He was known as an ornery jokester and Rex always had a story to tell. He was often seen entertaining other patients at the dinner table or in rehab sessions.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Loyd Copple and Jolene Copple; and brother-in-law, Steven Cramer.

Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Gayle; children, Dixie Burrows and husband, Bill and Ray Copple and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Bryce Burrows and wife, Alice and Brock Burrows and wife, Hannah; great-grandchildren, who were his Sweetie Pies, Emma Burrows and Olivia Burrows; siblings, Donald Copple and wife, Maria, Max Copple and wife, Alice, Gail Copple and wife, Barbara, Ivanell Bulleigh and husband, Joe, and Debra Cramer; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, March 20, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Graveside services will be at 9:00 A.M., Friday, March 21, at Hall Cemetery, rural Delphos. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., at Words of Light Fellowship Church, Delphos. Memorials may be made to the Miltonvale E.M.S. and left in care of the funeral home.
