
Olivia C. Rojas, 92, of Salina passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born on June 17, 1932, to Jesse and Celeste (Robles) Vargas in Black Wolf, Kansas.
Olivia loved the holidays, bringing the family together to decorate for every holiday. She always had seasonally appropriate candy for her children and later for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On the 4th of July Olivia gathered the family for a big BBQ and party to celebrate and shoot fireworks. The biggest holiday was Christmas and Olivia made sure everyone made it home for Christmas. Olivia enjoyed making cakes and especially cakes for birthday parties. During family get togethers her Mexican music was always playing. Olivia also loved to dance, often going to dance halls with her friends and family. Most of all Olivia loved her family.
She is survived by daughters Connie (Hershel) Hopper, Salina, and Amelia (Eric White) Rojas, Salina; sister Lillans Sanchez, Salina; Aunt Evelyn Vargas, Salina; grandchildren James and Erick Hopper, Salina; great grandchildren Briaunna Hopper, Salian, Nathan Hopper, Salina, Ryan Hopper, Salina, and Elisabeth (Raymond) Bryant, Lincoln; great-great grandchildren Wyatt, Gary, and one on the way.
She is preceded by Husband Ernest Rojas; son Ernie Rojas; brothers Manuel Vargas, and Gilbert Vargas; sisters Alberta Montoy, Anna Merryfeild, and Julia Morales.
A visitation will be held 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday March 22, 2025, at Ryan Mortuary. Rosary will be at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral in care of Ryan Mortuary.
