John Steven “Steve” Petersen Jr., 77, passed away Tuesday, April 18,
 2023, in Hays, KS. He was born July 8, 1945, in Salina, KS to John 
Petersen Sr. and Virginia (Jorgensen) Petersen. Steve married Vicki 
Nelson in WaKeeney, KS on March 30, 1967. He retired as a heavy 
equipment operator for KDOT.

Steve is survived by his wife, Vicki Petersen of Lincoln, KS; son, 
Sean Petersen (Shawn) of Ellsworth, KS; sisters, Carla Petersen of Port 
Charlotte, FL and Wenny Plunkett of Salina, KS; step-grandchildren, 
Mitch Wolf (Tyler) of Kansas City, MO, Cheyenne Hellebust (Kaden) of 
Fairview, TX, Savannah Hellebust of Ellsworth, and Nash Hellebust of 
Ellsworth; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; brother-in-law, 
Richard Nelson (Karen) of Lucas, KS; and sister-in-law, Jan Leach (Tim) 
of Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and 
brother-in-law, Dennis Nelson.

As most of you know Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman.&nbsp;He 
thoroughly enjoyed his and his family and friends’ time spent at Wilson 
Lake. He would often teach countless kids how to waterski after a 
morning spent fishing.&nbsp;He was always there for anyone who needed help 
and would give the shirt off his back or lend a hand to any task 
necessary.

As one friend put it… “All I can say is if you knew him he will be 
missed. And if you didn’t know him, you have no idea what you missed.”&nbsp;

She was currently employed at the Tin Roof Pantry in Galva. Evelyn Ruth Sommerfeld, 80, of Newton, died April 19, 2023 at Newton Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born December 1, 1942 in Larned, the daughter of Frederick and Dorothy (Burres) Dorland.

On October 13, 1961 she married Milford Sommerfeld in McPherson. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1989. 

She was a former owner of a floral and gift shop in Canton and had been a Newton resident for 30 years, moving from Canton. She was a member of the Canton Christian Church.

Survivors include her three daughters, Christine (Jeff) McMannis and Jackie Ewert, all of Canton and Tami (Greg) Kohlman, Wichita; a sister, Mary (Charles) Fleming, Big Cabin, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and her best friend, Laurie Hall of Newton. 

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kyle McMannis and Jill (Ewert) Lee, a son-in-law, Bob Ewert, two brothers, Leonard and Glen Dorland, and two sisters, Sylvia Flaming and Margaret Morris.

Marc Lane Fosdick, 62, of Oak Hill, KS, died 
Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in a farming accident at the farm where he 
lived with his girlfriend, Rose Scott.

Marc was born April 6, 1961, in Concordia, KS, the son of Patricia (Craig) Bonde and Darrel Fosdick.

Marc graduated from Miltonvale High School in 1980 and attended Beloit Vo-Tech.&nbsp; He married several times and lived in various locations and states.&nbsp; 

He was a carpenter at the time of his death.&nbsp; In
 his spare time, you might find him with a chainsaw in his hands cutting 
firewood or cedar trees in the pasture, at a local pond (or a secret 
honey-hole) trying to catch the most elusive fish, in the garden 
planting, watering, weeding and harvesting produce, or in the kitchen 
cooking, canning or baking something flavorful and yummy.

Marc is proceeded in death by his mother Patricia Bonde, half-brothers Patrick Smith and Tracy Fosdick and his grandparents.

Survivors include his girlfriend Rose and their 
pets, several friends, and neighbors he loved dearly, his father Darrel 
Fosdick of Clyde, KS; sister, Jacque (Fosdick) Kimble; brother, Lance

NARKA - Jackie “Jack” Gene Chapman was born on August 3, 1955, to James and Marie (Mobley) Chapman. He left this earth on April 19, 2023.

Jack grew up in Missouri, but he had a wondrous heart. His adult life was spent in Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas.

He was a carpenter by trade, and did a lot of handy-man jobs. He liked making things from wood, and loved giving his home created projects to others.

The last couple of years he spent in Narka, Kansas. He did many odd jobs for several people in town.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents James and Marie, two brothers, Jimmy Dale and Danny, one sister, Edna, three nephews, Pete, Jimmy D., and Clayton, and two nieces, Theresa and Resa.

He is survived by his significant other Trisha, children Caina, Kelly, Katrina and Jessie, brother Robert, sisters Kathy and Kitty, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A private family graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, rural Narka, at a later date.

Gary Wayne Helms, 67, died April 17, 2023, in Topeka, KS.&nbsp; He was born on August 11, 1955, in Washington, KS, the son of Edgar and Betty (Meier) Helms.&nbsp;

 Gary grew up in rural Linn.&nbsp; He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and was a class of 1973 graduate of Linn High School where he participated in track and basketball.&nbsp; 

Gary had a specific love and talent for music and played the trumpet for most of his life, playing for church services and in city bands. &nbsp;&nbsp;

After high school, he attended Concordia College in Seward, NE.&nbsp; 

Following college, he found other talents in the construction industry, specifically fine woodworking, and cabinetry.&nbsp; He worked on many projects in NE Kansas but one of his favorites was the KSU Alumni Center in Manhattan.&nbsp;

 In September 1979, Gary married Annette Beckman.&nbsp; To this union were born two sons, Scott and Kevin.&nbsp; In 1988, Gary moved his family to Clay Center.&nbsp; Gary and Annette later divorced.&nbsp; 

He was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.&nbsp; 

Gary was proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time outdoors after his retirement.&nbsp; 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

Marilyn Ruby Bunger, 94, of Lindsborg passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Bethany Home, Lindsborg.  Marilyn was born October 3, 1928 in Salina, KS to the late Luther and the late Ruby (Norquist) Frost.

  She married Donald Bunger on February 12, 1950 at Assaria, KS.  

Marilyn worked as a telephone operator and for many years in the kitchen at Bethany Home.

She was a member of Assaria Lutheran Church, where she was active in many functions.  Marilyn was also a member of W.E.L.C.A.  

Survivors include her daughter Darlene Shields (Mike) of Lindsborg, KS; sons Terry Bunger (Beth) of Salina, KS, and Steve Bunger (Vicky) of Haysville, KS; as well as six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many extended family members. 

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; and brothers Emery Frost and Merrill Frost.

Visitation will be Friday, April 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 am on Saturday, April 22 at Assaria Lutheran Church, 124 W. 1st St, Assaria, KS with Pastor Dean Apel officiating.  Burial and committal services for the family will take place prior to the celebration of life.

Kathy K. Gomer, 79, of Bella Vista, Ark. passed away January 10, 2023. She was born, Kathleen Kay Richardson, on July 8, 1943 to Harold and Dorothy (Moxham) Richardson in Belleville, KS.

She married her high school sweetheart, Chuck Gomer, on June 2, 1963.&nbsp; They spent their first five years of marriage with Chuck in the United States Air Force, the last three years living in Germany while stationed at Sembach Air Base.&nbsp; They returned to the states in 1968 with two children and built a life in the Kansas City area for the next 33 years.&nbsp;

 Kathy worked in the Shawnee Mission School District and retired in 2001 from her position as an elementary school secretary.&nbsp; Kathy was a founding member of two esteemed organizations, ESRM and Yahoos.&nbsp; 

Kathy and Chuck moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 2001 where they have enjoyed their retirement years.&nbsp; She played golf for several years with the Metfield Mommies.&nbsp; She enjoyed camping in Colorado, kayaking, and was a member of Bella Vista Community Church.&nbsp; 

She was a loving grandmother, and thoroughly enjoyed her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Dorothy Richardson; infant brother Ronald; and two sisters, Corinne Meadows and Linda Butler-Woods.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Chuck Gomer; two children, daughter Chris Bergman (John West) of Phoenix, AZ, and son Charlie Gomer (Christina) of Lake Quivira, KS; four grandchildren, Abby (Gomer) Strauss (Ben and great-grandson Bear), Josh Gomer (Monica and great-granddaughter Vida), Cassie Gomer, and Chloe Bergman; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS with Pastor Amos McCarthy, officiating.

The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the services at the church.

Inurnment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, rural Wayne, Kansas.

ELLSWORTH - Della Fern Ranker, 93, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 in Salina, KS. She was born November 29, 1929 in Ellsworth County, KS to William Wachs, Sr. and Minnie (Haase) Wachs. 

Della was a graduate of Ellsworth High School. 

She married Dorsey “Duke” Ranker in Ellsworth on October 9, 1950. 

She was a bookkeeper at IGA, the weed department, and for Duke’s trash service. Della was very active in the Ellsworth VFW Auxiliary and the Immanuel Lutheran Church LWML. She also served as a Cub Scout den mother.

Della is survived by her daughter Linda Jackson (Jack) of Jackson, NJ; sons Virgil Ranker (Connie), Dwayne Ranker (Geri), and Eugene Ranker, all of Ellsworth; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Alice Bednasek of Holyrood, KS and Nancy Wachs of Ellsworth; and brother Bill Wachs, Jr. of Ellsworth. 

She was preceded in death by her parents William, Sr. and Minnie Wachs; husband Dorsey “Duke” Ranker; sister Mona Peterman; and brothers-in-law Clarence Peterman and Vernon Bednasek.

Visitation: 1-8 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Parsons Funeral Home. Family will be present 6-8 p.m.

Pat grew up and graduated from high school in Stella, Missouri.&nbsp; 

She married Jimmie Nichols, Sr. in 1960 and they were later separated. 

Pat attended Cloud County Community College.&nbsp; 

She worked at Gilmore-Tatge in shipping and accounts payable for nearly 40 years, Clay County Medical Center as an admissions clerk and for USD 379 food service.&nbsp; Pat also owned many rental houses in Clay Center and Nichols Tax Service.&nbsp;

 In her spare time, Pat was an avid artist.&nbsp; 

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Mary Hunter, Dorothy Button and Leta Francisco and two brothers, Larry and Leon Pogue.

She is survived by her son Jimmie and wife Jan Nichols of Clay Center, Kansas; daughter Tammy and husband Larry Roetter of Palmer, Kansas; three grandchildren, Jessie Nichols, Denton Roetter and Jared Roetter, and three great-grandchildren, Henry, Toby and Gabe Roetter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clay Center United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, Kansas.

She passed away at the age of 80 on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, in Beloit, Kansas, at Mitchell County Hospital. Lola graduated from Abilene High School in 1960, and was united in marriage to Gerald E. Everett on August 20th, 1960, who preceded her in death in 2017. In 1963, their son, Donald E., was born. Donnie preceded Lola in death in 2018. In 1968, their daughter, Julie D., was born. Lola was also preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister, Sandra J. (Enger) Miller. As a homemaker, she became fascinated with and spent many hours studying her family’s genealogy and history. Lola compiled newspaper articles, certificates, and other resources into several volumes. She also enjoyed game shows, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing card games with her children and grandchildren. Lola is survived by daughter Julie Boyd and her husband Steven of Abilene; their children, Shannon and Michelle Young of Abilene; Talon Combes of Abilene; Megan and Hunter Gregory, their sons Keaton, Kade, and Kolter of Gore, Oklahoma; Ashley Boyd and Hugh Boyd of Oklahoma City; daughter-in-law Debra Everett of Salina; Debra and Donnie’s children, Jordan Everett and her son, Watson Solis, of Wichita; Brooke Burr and husband Landon of Billings, Montana; and Sydney Everett and Emilee Everett of Salina. Lola is also survived by her siblings Caroll (Lowell) Eye, Melvin (Sherry) Adee, Bruce Enger, Linda (Steve) Myers, Christine Enger, Janice (Steve) Dester, Rhonda Keating, and many nieces and nephews. Lyle Irwin Jilka, 63, of Salina, Kansas passed away on April 18, 2023.

Lyle was born to the late Adolph and Zelma (Glenn) Jilka in Salina on July 11, 1959. &nbsp;

He was a graduate of Salina Central and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture from Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; He grew up working at the sale barn in Salina where his father worked as well as helping Bill Giersch on the farm.&nbsp; He spent a few years with Evans Grain traveling the state collecting grain samples.&nbsp; Before retirement he spent many years with Great Plains Manufacturing as well as part time in the lawn and garden department at Walmart.&nbsp; After retirement, he worked part time for Hedville gas station.

Lyle is survived by his son Trevor of the home; and daughter Taylor (Drew) Coad of Salina; grandchildren Aubree Kasper, Dax Kraft, and Aris Coad; brothers Ken Jilka of Minot ND, Robert (Linda) Jilka of St. George, UT; and sister LuAnn (Larry) Morris of Salina; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary Tuesday April 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present 6 to 8.

A funeral service will be held at Ryan Mortuary Wednesday April 26th at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Shiloh Cemetery on W. Pleasant Hill Rd.

James Dean Brown, 89, of Beeler, Kansas, passed away on April 17, 
2023 at Shawnee Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center, Overland Park, 
Kansas. 

James, known by most as Jim, was born to George Mason and Carrie
 Etta (Smith) Brown on July 14, 1933, on the family farm in Alamota, 
Kansas.&nbsp; He was a graduate of Dighton High School&nbsp; and enlisted in the 
Army during the Korean War.&nbsp; He served as a paratrooper and completed 27
 jumps and had many adventures in Greece including a meeting with some 
suspicious farmers with pitchforks during one landing.&nbsp; He liked to 
travel but returned home to help on the farm.&nbsp; He worked on the railroad
 and retired from the Union Pacific as a foreman in&nbsp;1997.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He&nbsp;continued 
to farm, share jokes with friends and family on email, and explore 
herbal cures and natural remedies.&nbsp; He liked to stay abreast of 
technology and built several televisions.&nbsp; He enjoyed keeping up with 
the news on his computer, using Amazon Alexa and good food, particularly
 ice cream.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was a&nbsp;quiet man, practical yet stubbornly optimist, who
 dared to dream impossible dreams. Jim marched to his own drum and 
loved&nbsp; the only way he knew how.&nbsp; He said 90% of success in life was 
just showing up and he made sure that he showed up for his family and 
friends.

Jim said that he was ready to move on to his other dimension and 
looked forward to being reunited with beloved daughter Jamie Dea who 
proceeded him in death in 1978. Jim was also predeceased by his parents,
 George and Carrie, his sisters Vera Whipple, Velma Stramel, Kitty 
Fisher, his brother William Brown and nephews Terry Brown and Dick 
Stramel.&nbsp;

Jim is survived by his daughter, Misty Brown Polo and Matteo 
Polo (Kansas City), son James G. Brown (Hutchinson), his step-daughter 
Lorrie Little (Salina) and step-son Marlin Portenier (Dodge 
City),&nbsp;granddaughters Annagrace and Giulietta and grandsons&nbsp;Damon, Jamon
 and Gianluca and 25 step grand and great grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on April 21, 2023, at 
the Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City, Kansas followed by burial in

Eleanor F. Stafford, 94, of Belleville, passed away April 14.

Eleanor “Ellie” Faye (June) Stafford was born on August 25, 1928, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Russell Edward and Faye Marie (Campbell) June. 

Eleanor grew up in Mansfield, graduating from Mansfield Senior High School. She then attended Mansfield Business College.

She was united in marriage to Richard Lee Stafford on June 8, 1947, in Mansfield, and to this union four children were born. The family made their home in Mansfield, Ohio, for many years before relocating to Republic County in 1983.

Ellie worked as a CNA at the Republic County Hospital for many years before she retired. She was active in the United Presbyterian Church, and community organizations.

Ellie passed away on April 14, 2023, at the Republic County Hospital, at the age of 94 years, 7 months, and 20 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard in 2015, son David Lee Stafford in 2019, her sister Dorothy E. Hargrave and brother Donald L. June.

She is survived by her children, son Alan Richard Stafford of Goldfield, Nevada; daughter Lisa Marie Rider-Stafford of Ft. Worth, Texas, and son Gregory Scot Stafford of Belleville. Eleanor is also survived by her grandchildren Sara Isaccson (Greg) of Salida, Colorado, Josh Stafford (Christina) of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, Kelly Bauer of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Sean Stafford of Emporia, Kansas.

Graveside memorial services will be held at the Belleville City Cemetery at a later date.

Alberta Frances (Johnson) Peters. She was united in holy matrimony to 
James Francis Moloney on August 31, 1967, at St. Xavier Catholic Church 
where she was a lifelong member after joining the Catholic Church early 
in 1967. They resided in rural Junction City, KS on the family farm for
 54 years together. Left to honor her memory are her loving 
children; Donny Moloney of Wichita, Michelle Moloney (Jane) of Leawood, 
Cecilia (Brian) Aruskevicius of Wichita, Jean Moloney of Mariemont, OH, 
Patrick (Erin) Moloney of Shawnee, Sheila (Dan) Smith of Hillsboro, IA,

State Basketball Tournament and playing with the band at halftime. Ella
 spent her life raising children, farming with her late husband, and as a
 rural mail carrier. She began as a substitute carrier in 1989 and 
retired from her long-time route in Chapman in 2015. She was proud to 
be a mail carrier and looked forward to her job every day. If she was 
your mail carrier, you could always expect a smile, a wave, fun notes in
 your mailbox, and that she and her Jeep were dressed for the season! 
She always stopped to talk as well, if she felt someone needed it, even 
if it put her off schedule. She was honored to have been chosen as the 
Kansas Rural Letter Carrier of the Year in 2012. She served as a 
national delegate for 8 years, held the office of chaplain, and 
continued to be involved at national conventions. In 2016, she joined 
Johnson Funeral Home as a support staff member to assist with funeral 
services. She was a lover of music, a devout Catholic, an avid 
bowler, and devoted to her family. She was a member of St. Xavier 
Catholic Church, the Christian Women’s Club, the Kansas Bowling 
Association, and a former school board member of St. Xavier Catholic 
School. She loved music theatre and was a part of many productions with
 Junction City Little Theatre. She was always singing or saying 
nursery rhymes. She was known to put the children in the station wagon 
on a whim and take them into town to “perform” (dancing, singing, poems)
 for the residents at the local nursing homes. To know her was to know 
the size of her heart. There was always room for one more at the dinner
 table, always an extra dollar for someone in need, and always time to 
stop and chat. In all of Ella’s travels near and far, she always 
managed to find someone with a connection to her, whether it be “she 
used to be my neighbor” or “that’s where my son-in-law is from.” She 
was a devoted Grandma, and it was truly her favorite endeavor. She was 
at every possible activity, cheering the loudest, and bragging all the 
way through. We will always cherish her memory. Family will 
receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
 at St. Xavier Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. A
 Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 
21, 2023, at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be at Vine Creek

 Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 
21, 2023, at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Burial will be at Vine Creek

Flora Mae Weigel, 90, passed away on April 17, 2023, at Hays Medical 
Center, Hays, Kan. She was born on July 17, 1932, in Walker, Kan., to 
Anselm “Lefty” Braun and Anna Marie Braun. On July 17, 1954, she married
 Robert Leo Weigel in Walker, Kan. He passed on March 9, 2001.

A longtime Great Bend resident, Flora was a dedicated homemaker.
 She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima, 
Altar Society and helped with the Adoration Chapel. Flora Mae enjoyed 
spending time with her family, especially watching her grandchildren’s 
activities.

Survivors include two sons, Robert “Bob” (Doris) Weigel of Great 
Bend, Kan. and Brian Weigel of Salina, Kan.; two daughters, Pam Hitz and
 Michelle (Eric) Moore, both of Great Bend, Kan.; five grandchildren, 
Tyler (Brooke) Weigel, Jocelyn Weigel (Zac), Jessica Walters, Esten 
Moore and Braylon Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Oren Talukdar and 
Bobby Troughton. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a
 brother, Donald Braun; and two infant sisters, Darlene and Lorine 
Braun.

Visitation will take place from noon to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 
2023, with Altar Society rosary at 4:00 p.m., family receiving guests 
from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at 
Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 
a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at St. Rose of Lima Church with Father 
Prakash Kola presiding. Interment will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in 
Walker, Kan. 

Memorials have been designated to the Holy Family Endowment
 Fund or the St. Anne’s Cemetery, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

Mary Ellen Maxey, age 87, died on April 17, 2023, in her home in Salina, Kansas.

She was born on her parent’s farm at Lost Springs, Kansas in Morris County on September 25, 1936, to Isaac and Nettie Bergen.&nbsp; She lived with her parents until 1950 when she moved to Herington, Kansas. &nbsp;

She attended school in Burdick, Kansas graduating from high school in 1956.&nbsp; In 1979 she moved to Salina, working at Marymount College and the Best Western Hotel.

She married Benjamin Franklin Ford November 6, 1970, Benjamin died July 17, 1979. Then married Gaylord Maxey June 26, 1987, Gaylord died November 16, 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Benjamin Franklin Ford and Gaylord Lee Maxey, her parents Isaac and Nettie Bergen, and two half-sisters, Mada McClain and Caroline Banks, and one half-brother, Howard Bergen.

Mark O. Pruitt, a longtime resident of Florissant, MO passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the age of 69 years. He was born on April 18, 1953 in Chicago, IL to the late Ralph O. and Marjorie A. Pruitt (nee Henry).

Mark attended grade school and jr. high in the Matteson School Dist.(Chicago south suburbs). He went on to attend Rich Central High School and graduated in 1971. While in high school, Mark participated in running track and also played baseball on summer leagues when he would be out in Kansas helping with the wheat harvests of his grandad and grandma's farm. He also was involved while attending Rich Central H.S., with music/band-playing the trombone. 

Upon high school graduation, he attended University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering in 1977. He later completed a master's degree from Washington University-St. Louis. Mark was a fervent fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Fighting Illini for the rest of his life.

Mark landed his dream job with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing designing military aircraft for them for 33 years, retiring in 2011. During his career there he made significant contributions to the F-18 military fighter jet and C-17. He patented products still used today and accumulated many honors with the company.

After retirement, he remained active in the Commemorative Air Force-Missouri Wing. Some of his favorite activities were guiding visitors through tours of the museum, helping with their hangar dances at Smartt Field-St. Charles and working their booth during the Spirit of St. Louis Airport air shows.
