Katie Sue Haag, 70, of Hays, died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, after the results of a fall at her home.,

She was born on July 3, 1952, in Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Vernon and Eunice Steele Witwer. Katie graduated from Abilene High School in 1970 and later attended Fort Hays State University where she met Dale Kent Haag. They were married on January 15, 1973 in Abilene.&nbsp;

Katie and Dale returned to Hays in 1983 where she was a Supervisor at the ALCO Store for 20 years and a Co-Manager at Tandy’s Hallmark for 10 years.

While in college, Katie was a member of Tri Sigma, in recent years she enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Ladies and having coffee with her friends. You could always find Katie on the phone with either family or friends.&nbsp;

Please remember Katie each time you are drinking a Starbucks coffee or listening to a George Strait song.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dale of the home in Hays; sons Jonathan Haag and wife Peggy of Great Bend, Jason Haag of Orlando, Fla., and James Haag of Alexandria, Va.; brothers Lee Witwer and wife Bev of Iowa City, Iowa and Wayne Witwer and wife Mary Katherine of San Antonio, Tx.; sister Karen Courtney and husband Lynn of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and three grandchildren Emma and Kaylee Haag of Great Bend and Bentley Haag of Redding, Calif.

As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Humane Society of the High Plains in Hays, Kansas, or the charity of your choice.

Jeanette Ann Harris of Mead, Colo., passed to her heavenly home on April 19, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society of Loveland, Colo. She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Walker to Ed and Sally (Roth) Wellbrock.

One of 12 children (six boy and six girls), Jeanette graduated from Victoria High School in 1957. After graduating, she moved to Salina. There, she met the love of her life, Arthur Harris, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. They married Jan. 20, 1962, and recently celebrated their 61st anniversary.

Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved anything that involved family and was always up for planning family events. She and Art made their home at many different Air Force bases in their early married years as Art made a career in the military, and Jeanette kept the home fires burning.

Jeanette and Art have four children: Kim Holley (huband Michael), Hugoton, Cindy Redfield (Denny Craddick, Utica, Neb., Linda Pennock (Husband Doug), Berthoud, Colo., and Bryan Harris, Dacono, Colo. They have seven grandchildren: Matt, Amanda, Ashley, Andrew, Aaron, rebecca and Susan and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jeanete loved to sing and play various instruments. She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church of Mead, where she was involved in the women's group and helped with numerous events.

Jeanette was always walking to see the beauty of God's creations and for exercise. She took part in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk, walking 60 miles from Fort Collins to Boulder. She and Art went on many adventures and traveled extensively.

Jeanette always said, “life is beautiful” and “all girls need huggies." She lived her life by those mottos. She saw the beauty in all things and gave hugs freely.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Art, of the home. In addition to her immediate family, Jeannette is also survived by her bothers and sisters: Lee Wellbock (Bonnie Dolata), Dianne Paciello, Jim Wellbrock (Jan), Dennis Wellbrock (Theresa), Kathleen Cooper, Better Woodruff (Dennis) and Brenda Gross (Gary), and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Guardian Angels Catholics Church, Mead, on May 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. at 109 S. Third St., Mead. A Rosary will be said beginning at 10:30 AM at the church. A Celebration of Life Mass will follow at 11:00.

Vila Marie Cooper, 81, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by family at Salina Regional Health Center.

Throughout her life, she cooked for the McPherson High School and the McPherson Senior Center.&nbsp; Many might have known her also while working at Daylight Donuts in McPherson.

She was born on January 26, 1942, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Harold and Opal (Harder) Lafferty.&nbsp; She grew up on a farm outside of Inman, KS.&nbsp; 

She graduated from Windom High School in 1960.&nbsp; 

On November 25, 1961, Vila was united in marriage to Robert Cooper at the Andover Lutheran Church in Windom, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two daughters, Kay and Patti.

She was a member of Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors of America.

Vila enjoyed cooking for the entire family for birthdays and holidays, her specialty being fried chicken.&nbsp; She also enjoyed collecting owls and would tell everyone, “No two are alike!”&nbsp;&nbsp; In earlier years, she enjoyed family vacations with the kids and in later years, she and Bob traveled on their own.&nbsp; Above all, Vila loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Kay Graham and husband, Jerry, of McPherson, KS and Patti Cooper of McPherson, KS; her brothers Keith Lafferty of Inman, KS and Bob Lafferty of Bishop, GA; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Bob in 2022; her parents; brother Jim Lafferty; and sisters Doris Richards and Sharon Lafferty.

LINCOLN - Charles Quentin Deiter, 85, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 in Beloit, KS. He was born November 10, 1937 in Hunter, KS to Charles E. and Nellie A. (Cambridge) Deiter.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Berta Whittemore; sons David Deiter, Daniel Deiter, Rudy Gaytan, and Raul Gaytan; sisters Allene Wiles and Ardis Jensen; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Darcine Sulsar and Charlotte Overman.

Charles was loved so dearly and brought so much happiness to the many hearts he touched. He grew up in Hunter on the family farm alongside his mother, father, and four sisters with whom he had a very close and loving relationship. Charles traveled many places, but Kansas was always where he called home. 

He achieved a tremendous deal throughout his lifetime. Charles was a master carpenter, an enthusiastic gardener, a kind brother, a veteran who served in the U.S. Army for four years, a devoted father, and above all, a devout Seventh Day Adventist who loved his church family dearly.

Burial service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Greenwood Union Cemetery, Hunter.

 years.

Judith Carol Robison, the daughter of Carrol Anderson and Mildred (Aspergren) Anderson, was born May 18, 1933 in Scandia, Kansas and passed away on April 13, 2023 at Republic County Hospital at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Judith grew up in Scandia, KS, attending the local public schools and graduated from Scandia High School in 1951.&nbsp; 

After graduating Judith began her banking career.&nbsp; She worked at the Scandia State Bank for 24 years.&nbsp; She was a teller and the Assistant Cashier.&nbsp; She was in charge of making sure every penny was accounted for, in and out of the bank.&nbsp; Her boss (Walter Boyles) reports “Judith runs a tight ship” so did he, so they were a great match.

Judith was a member of the Amana Lutheran Church in Scandia where she held many positions, including being the Sec/Treasurer for over 25 years.&nbsp; She was a member of the Amana WELCAN Ladies Group, an Eagles Club member, a Moose Lodge member, enjoyed the Red Hat Ladies Club, and later became a member of the Scandia United Methodist Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On September 6, 1975, she was united in marriage to Charles Robison.&nbsp; She instantly became a mom to three teenagers (Delton, Debbie and Doyle) and took on the role of a farm wife.&nbsp; 

Robison Farms soon needed a bookkeeper and chef, and Judith accepted those positions willingly.&nbsp; She delivered food to the family out in the field and, of course, at the farm. Robison Farms Custom Harvesting ran six combines from Texas to the Canada border, harvesting wheat, and then returning home to harvest the fall crops.&nbsp; Charles and Judith would meet the crew toward the end of the season, Judith would help cook and Charles would fill in wherever he was needed.&nbsp; They would come home with Delton and Belinda’s children, take care of them and send them to school until the entire group was home. Judith learned how to run a computer, do books on the computer, backup files, send records to the accountant on jump drives, read Facebook, upload, download and copy family pictures, read emails, find the weather forecast and play solitaire.&nbsp;

Judith enjoyed sewing and she made a lot of her own clothes, wedding dresses and even suits for others.&nbsp; She was an awesome seamstress and had many customers who had her do alterations to their clothing.&nbsp; As the years went by she made baby blankets, teddy bears, Care Bears, Cabbage Patch dolls, other dolls and doll clothes for her grandchildren.&nbsp; 

She enjoyed traveling anywhere Charles or the family would take her Florida, Colorado, fishing and cruising in Alaska, Montana, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Nevada, California to name a few.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Judith was a collector. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, spoons, cookie jars, rolling pins, shoes, clothes and redbirds.&nbsp; She loved to shop a lot and give gifts to those she loved.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The most important thing in Judith’s heart was family.&nbsp; She enjoyed cooking and having the family over for all the holidays.&nbsp; She enjoyed going to family reunions, meeting and visiting with extended family. She kept family tree records, extended family pictures and labeled them for younger generations to come.&nbsp;&nbsp; She enjoyed sharing those memories/pictures with the younger generation.&nbsp; Even in her last few months, she had a list of her immediate family and reviewed the list multiple times daily as she did not want to forget anyone.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Judith was preceded in death by her parents Carrol and Mildred Anderson; her husband Charles in 2018; sister Anita Sothers; grandson Christopher Simmons; daughter-in-law Linda Robison; and brother-in-law Dean Sothers.&nbsp;

Judith is survived by one stepdaughter, Debbie (Kevin) Simmons of Scandia, KS; two stepsons, Delton (Belinda) Robison of Scandia, KS, Doyle (Brenda) Robison of Kinsley, KS;&nbsp; eight grandchildren, Jeffery (Katie) Simmons of Devine, TX, Nicholas (Heather) Robison of Republic, KS, Daniel (Leslie) Robison, Belleville, KS, Kyle (Brandi) Robison of Courtland, KS, Adam Simmons of Scandia, KS,&nbsp; Kelli (Perry) Johnston of Buhler, KS, Nena (Cody) Shepard of Solomon, KS, and Dustin Robison of Kinsley, KS; 19 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, Scandia, KS with Pastor Sandra Jellison-Knock, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, KS.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, KS. The family will greet friends at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

 </figure><a href="https://www.bachelor-surber.com/obituary/Judith-Robison">https://www.bachelor-surber.com/obituary/Judith-Robison</a>Judith Carol Robison, the daughter of Carrol Anderson and Mildred (Aspergren) Anderson, was born May 18, 1933 in Scandia, Kansas and passed away on April 13, 2023 at Republic County Hospital at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 25 days.Judith grew up in Scandia, KS, attending the local public schools and graduated from Scandia High School in 1951.&nbsp; After graduating Judith began her banking career.&nbsp; She worked at the Scandia State Bank for 24 years.&nbsp; She was a teller and the Assistant Cashier.&nbsp; She was in charge of making sure every penny was accounted for, in and out of the bank.&nbsp; Her boss (Walter Boyles) reports “Judith runs a tight ship” so did he, so they were a great match.Judith was a member of the Amana Lutheran Church in Scandia where she held many positions, including being the Sec/Treasurer for over 25 years.&nbsp; She was a member of the Amana WELCAN Ladies Group, an Eagles Club member, a Moose Lodge member, enjoyed the Red Hat Ladies Club, and later became a member of the Scandia United Methodist Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;On September 6, 1975, she was united in marriage to Charles Robison.&nbsp; She instantly became a mom to three teenagers (Delton, Debbie and Doyle) and took on the role of a farm wife.&nbsp; Robison Farms soon needed a bookkeeper and chef, and Judith accepted those positions willingly.&nbsp; She delivered food to the family out in the field and, of course, at the farm. Robison Farms Custom Harvesting ran six combines from Texas to the Canada border, harvesting wheat, and then returning home to harvest the fall crops.&nbsp; Charles and Judith would meet the crew toward the end of the season, Judith would help cook and Charles would fill in wherever he was needed.&nbsp; They would come home with Delton and Belinda’s children, take care of them and send them to school until the entire group was home. Judith learned how to run a computer, do books on the computer, backup files, send records to the accountant on jump drives, read Facebook, upload, download and copy family pictures, read emails, find the weather forecast and play solitaire.&nbsp;Judith enjoyed sewing and she made a lot of her own clothes, wedding dresses and even suits for others.&nbsp; She was an awesome seamstress and had many customers who had her do alterations to their clothing.&nbsp; As the years went by she made baby blankets, teddy bears, Care Bears, Cabbage Patch dolls, other dolls and doll clothes for her grandchildren.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling anywhere Charles or the family would take her Florida, Colorado, fishing and cruising in Alaska, Montana, Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Nevada, California to name a few.&nbsp;&nbsp;Judith was a collector. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, spoons, cookie jars, rolling pins, shoes, clothes and redbirds.&nbsp; She loved to shop a lot and give gifts to those she loved.&nbsp;&nbsp;The most important thing in Judith’s heart was family.&nbsp; She enjoyed cooking and having the family over for all the holidays.&nbsp; She enjoyed going to family reunions, meeting and visiting with extended family. She kept family tree records, extended family pictures and labeled them for younger generations to come.&nbsp;&nbsp; She enjoyed sharing those memories/pictures with the younger generation.&nbsp; Even in her last few months, she had a list of her immediate family and reviewed the list multiple times daily as she did not want to forget anyone.&nbsp;&nbsp;Judith was preceded in death by her parents Carrol and Mildred Anderson; her husband Charles in 2018; sister Anita Sothers; grandson Christopher Simmons; daughter-in-law Linda Robison; and brother-in-law Dean Sothers.&nbsp;Judith is survived by one stepdaughter, Debbie (Kevin) Simmons of Scandia, KS; two stepsons, Delton (Belinda) Robison of Scandia, KS, Doyle (Brenda) Robison of Kinsley, KS;&nbsp; eight grandchildren, Jeffery (Katie) Simmons of Devine, TX, Nicholas (Heather) Robison of Republic, KS, Daniel (Leslie) Robison, Belleville, KS, Kyle (Brandi) Robison of Courtland, KS, Adam Simmons of Scandia, KS,&nbsp; Kelli (Perry) Johnston of Buhler, KS, Nena (Cody) Shepard of Solomon, KS, and Dustin Robison of Kinsley, KS; 19 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, Scandia, KS with Pastor Sandra Jellison-Knock, officiating.Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, KS.Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, KS. Gwen married Bryan Bunch in Kanopolis on December 8, 2012. 

She was an executive assistant at Maico Industries, Inc. in Ellsworth, KS.

Gwen is survived by her husband Bryan of Kanopolis; son Devon; daughter Hailey Fithen (Austin); granddaughter Avah Fithen; niece Rickale Glover (Logan); great-nieces Remington, Rory, and Rosie; sisters Lavina Casteel and Sharlene Ashworth; mother-in-law Sandra Bunch; and brothers-in-law Michael Bunch and family and Joel Bunch and family.

Sheila Rose Petty, 84, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 21st, 2023.

Sheila was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 21, 1938, a daughter of Catherine (Toney) and Hugh Smith.

On March 21, 1959, Sheila married Robert Petty in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Oriental Chapter #228 of St. Louis for over 50 years.

Survivors include her daughter Melissa (Donny) Miller of Salina, Kansas; son Alan D. Petty=, of Salina, Kansas; grandchildren Christopher, Colton, Carson, Kenny, Wayne; great-grandchildren Tristian, Lucinda, Ryder, Blayzin, Arkin, Leighton, Zaylei, and Skyla.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert Petty; and son Kenny Petty.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 27th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas.

She was born to Gladys and Ronald “Frosty” D. Clegg on June 4, 1954, in Superior, Nebraska. 

Pat graduated from Beloit High School in 1972.

Pat married her husband Hilton on June 4, 1972, and lived briefly in Herington before moving to Hope.&nbsp; 

She was a devoted wife and mother, her love for her family was unconditional and never wavered. Pat always looked for the good in people and was a source of great comfort and support to the people whose lives she touched.&nbsp; Her smile and sense of humor will be missed.&nbsp; Pat enjoyed sewing, gardening, spending time with her family, and was an avid Chiefs fan.

Pat is survived by her husband Hilton, sister Mari Tyler, and three children Mindy (Derek) Huston, Michael Helbach, and Margo Helbach.&nbsp; She is predeceased by her daughter Marcy Helbach, brother Michael Clegg, and her parents.

Graveside services were held on Friday April 21, 2023, at the Hope Cemetery.

Jesse V. Downs, 99, of Salina, passed away, Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Salina Regional Health Center.&nbsp; He was born in Industry, Kansas, to Jesse C. and Verna F. (Loader) Downs, on January 15, 1924.&nbsp; 

He graduated Salina High School in 1942 and joined the Army Airforce, that same year.&nbsp; He served for four years during World War II.&nbsp; 

On November 3, 1946, Jesse married Margaret Elizabeth Burk, in Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; They were married and inseparable for 74 years. &nbsp;

He is survived by his children Cheryl Utech (James) of Manhattan, Stephen Downs (Rosalie) of Colorado Springs, and Greg Downs (Eileen) of Hutchinson; one sister, Doris Tuttle of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Kimberly Splawn (Robert), Melissa Kendall (Jeremy), Jesse A. Downs (Dana), Nancy Erickson (Lewis), James M. Utech (Lora), David Green (Kathleen); 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Monday, May 1, 2023, in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. &nbsp;

Larry Lane&nbsp;was born on April 30, 1948, to Everton and Lillian (Christ) (Dowden) Lane, in Salina, Kansas. He passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, surrounded by family in his home.

Larry suffered from COPD and had returned to his home under the care of Gentiva Hospice.

He graduated from Salina High School in 1967. 

He then was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. Larry returned to Salina after his service in 1972, where he began his career with the City of Salina, until his retirement in 2010. 

He was married to Neva (Davis) (Yeagley) on May 12, 1990. Larry spent much of his free time fishing and boating.

Larry is survived by his son Trenten (Hannah) Walters, Salina, and stepson Jared (Marie) Yeagley, of Wichita;&nbsp; sister Roma (Troy) Zachary, and brother Hal (Cindy) Lane, and sister-in-law Patricia Lane of Oklahoma; nephews Josh (Amanda) Lane, Jeremy (Lori) Lane, nieces Barbara Bauman, Belinda McDaniel, Stacy (Barry) Doyle, and Alyssa (Eric) Lane-Blancho; great-nieces and nephews, and his companion cat, Indiana Jones.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Everton and Lillian Lane, his wife Neva Lane, brother Ronnie Lane, and nephew Eric Bauman.

Sandra Ann (Koelling) Elliott, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023, in Beloit, KS, surrounded by her loving family. Sandy was born on June 4, 1945, in Abilene, KS. Sandy was the daughter of Herbert and Doris Koelling and grew up in a close-knit family, forming strong bonds with her siblings that lasted throughout her life.

Sandy attended Chapman High School, where she excelled academically and made many lifelong friends. 

Upon graduating, she married Larry Naumann in 1963, and to this union Steven and Wendy were born. This marriage later dissolved. Sandy later married James Elliott on December 24, 2000, and they made a loving home in Detroit, KS, until his passing on March 21, 2015. 

Following James' passing, Sandy moved to Beloit, KS, to be closer to her family.

Sandy was a dedicated and hardworking member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 240 of Chapman, KS. 

Her interests were varied, and she enjoyed many activities throughout her life. In her younger days, she loved riding a motorcycle.She enjoyed country music, but mostly cherished spending time with her children, family, and friends, especially during family gatherings and camping trips. She was a proud and loving grandmother who never missed an opportunity to attend her grandchildren's sporting events and other activities.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Butch, and her husband James Elliott.

Sandy is survived by her son Steven Naumann (Cheryl) of Kansas City, KS; her daughter Wendy Walker (Kurt Abell) of Beloit, KS; her grandchildren Josh Melton (Ana), Zach Melton (Brittany), Brennan Walker, Craig Hams, Heather Marx, Joshua Cochran, Christopher Hills, Ethan Prochaska, and Derryck Walker; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters Judy Wolf of Wichita, KS, Donna Blaylock of Moundridge, KS, and Shirley Koelling of Wichita, KS; and many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her.

Sandy will always be remembered as a loving and caring person who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was loved by many who called her Momma or Grammy.&nbsp; Her warmth, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts and minds of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Marlyce Ann Snay passed away on April 20, 2023. She was born May 12, 1938 to Howard and Merna Snay, Haven, Kansas. 

Marlyce graduated from Haven High School in 1956 and Grace Hospital School of Nursing, Hutchinson, in 1959. She worked as a registered nurse and later, as a certified registered nurse anesthetist. 

Her hobbies included intricate hand-needlework and she loved several dogs as precious pets. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Marlyce was preceded in death by her father, Howard Snay in 2001, and by her mother, Merna Snay in 2020. 

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Fred Saenger, Hutchinson; sister Joyce Snay, Hutchinson; and seven loving nieces and nephews, Stephen Saenger, Merriam, Kansas, Gary and Stephanie Telleen, Haven, Kansas, Doug and Barbara Seibel, Mauldin, South Carolina, and Jeff and Kendra Bent, Austin, Texas.

Luella Schmidt, Moundridge, Kansas, died April 21, 2023 at the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge. She was 95 years old. Luella was born November 20, 1927, at Verden, Oklahoma, to William and Carrie (Nightingale) Schmidt. 

She moved with her parents to Burns, Kansas, in 1946, and later to Moundridge where she lived until her death. She was a member of the Meridian Mennonite Church at Hesston. 

Luella was a nurse and worked at area elder care homes for many years. 

Surviving are sisters Rosena (Gilmer) Koehn, Fairview, OK; LaWanda (Amos) Swarey, Burns, KS; Carol Swarey, Belleville, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Hesston. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 25 at Moundridge Funeral Home, with a visitation to follow from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Mary Elizabeth Herr passed away at age 94, on April 19, 2023, in Hesston, Kansas. Mary was born on July 22,1928, in Plain City, Ohio, to Eli and Ida (Kaufman) Yutzy.

She married H. Eugene "Gene" Herr on May 21, 1955, in Kingview, Pennsylvania. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; and brothers, Earl Yutzy and Vernon Yutzy, who resided in Plain City. She attended primary and high school in Plain City. She graduated in 1949 (AA) and 1953 (BA) from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. Mary had a wonderfully diverse life and career that touched many people. From 1949-51 she taught at a one-room school in Plain City. In 1953, she moved to Chicago where she meet Gene while serving in the Mennonite Church’s Voluntary Service program.

After raising three children she returned to work outside the home, teaching Language Arts in Harper, Kansas, and Middlebury, Indiana, during the late 1960s to mid-1970s. From 1978-1982, she and Gene were co-directors of the Phoenix Discipleship and Service program sponsored by the Mennonite Board of Missions, and from 1982-1985 she served Director of Service Ministries at the Mennonite Board of Missions in Elkhart, Indiana. From 1985 through 2001, Mary and Gene established The Hermitage Retreat Center in Three Rivers, Michigan—a place where their vision and dreams came together. Located on 53 acres with a barn that was expertly repurposed by a local craftsman and family friend, it is a place for spiritual retreats and to connect with nature on wooded trails. After retiring in 2001, they spent five months in Belfast, Northern Ireland, working at the Columbanus Community of Reconciliation. They also traveled domestically and internationally. Through the years and across different roles and settings, Mary served and mentored others. She was a doting and loving mother and grandmother, a wonderful friend, and a chef known for keeping and starting family culinary traditions. She was also a gracious hostess and opened her home to countless visitors from throughout the world. Those experiences enriched her family and formed life-long relationships. She is survived by three children, son Phillip and his wife Maria of Olney, Maryland; son Karl and his wife Mary Lynne of Bayfield, Colorado; and daughter Ellen Awe and her husband Darryl of Wichita, Kansas. She has six granddaughters along with their respective spouses, Jessica McElhiney, Heather Herr, Alejandra Herr (Brian Boyd), Emily (Chris) Metcalf, Amber Vogts (Matt Wilder), and Avery Vogts (Ethan Oltean). Agnar “Ag” Sheldon Regier, 83, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living, McPherson.&nbsp; 

Ag worked as a maintenance technician at W-R Milling Company in McPherson for 41 years.

Ag was born on April 25, 1939, in McPherson, KS, the son of John James and Edna W. (Christensen) Regier.&nbsp; 

He graduated from McPherson High School.&nbsp; 

On February 13, 1960, Ag was united in marriage to Marlena Marie Clark in McPherson. &nbsp;This union was blessed with two sons, Randy and Jason.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Marlena; two sons, Randy (Jackie) Regier of McPherson, KS and Jason (Melissa) Regier of McPherson, KS; a sister, Merry Persinger of Derby, KS; seven grandchildren, Brittney (Brett) Jennings, John (Kristen) Regier, Tyler Regier, Shelby Regier, Camryn Regier, Alayna Colwell, and Owen Colwell; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Charles Regier, Johnny Keith Regier, John “Jack” Regier, Shirley Rose Smith, and Betty Demieville.

(Christensen) Regier.&nbsp; He graduated from McPherson High School.&nbsp; On February 13, 1960, Ag was united in marriage to Marlena Marie Clark in McPherson. &nbsp;This union was blessed with two sons, Randy and Jason.Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Marlena; two sons, Randy (Jackie) Regier of McPherson, KS and Jason (Melissa) Regier of McPherson, KS; a sister, Merry Persinger of Derby, KS; seven grandchildren, Brittney (Brett) Jennings, John (Kristen) Regier, Tyler Regier, Shelby Regier, Camryn Regier, Alayna Colwell, and Owen Colwell; five great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Charles Regier, Johnny Keith Regier, John “Jack” Regier, Shirley Rose Smith, and Betty Demieville.The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 26, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. She became a licensed insurance and real estate agent. She worked with Heinze and Associates, Land Home Title, Wilson and Associates, and Security First Title. She was a beloved sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.&nbsp;Deb was preceded in death by her father Leonard Heinze; mother Lillian (Nunn) Heinze-Reinert; sisters-in-law Serena (Minear) Gaglardi and Mary (Minear) Maginness; and brother-in-law, Steve Minear.Her memory will be cherished by her life companion Jay Minear (married November 15, 1986); children Jesse Minear (Katee), Meredith Minear (Nathan), Marti Bayles (Reed), and Cory Minear (Lacy); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings Greg Heinze (Kathy) of Salina, KS, Pat Biggs (Mike) of Barnard, KS, Jim Heinze (Lynn) of Apple Valley, MN, and Shelley (Minear) Buchanan of Arkansas.&nbsp;Pallbearers will be Cory Minear, Jackson Minear, Tye Bayles, Blake Bayles, Nathan Garrison, and David Koralek III.&nbsp;The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the employees of Lincoln County Hospital.Memorial contributions can be made to the Deb Minear Grandchildren Education Fund or the Lincoln County Hospital, c/o Hall Chapel, P.O.
