Gerardo “Jerry” Torres&nbsp;passed away peacefully October 24, 2024. Jerry was born January 21, 1990 in Los Angeles, California to Juan and Irene Torres. Raised in Salina, Kansas, he was a graduate of Salina South High School in 2008 and later graduated from Old Town Barber College.

Jerry was a devoted, loving father to his son, Noel. Nothing brought him more joy than cheering on Noel during his sporting events. Jerry was often known as the life of the party and could always bring a smile to your face. He loved to host and grill for all his family and friends, especially for “Sunday Funday”. Forever the “Fun Uncle”, his nieces and nephews often looked forward to family gatherings where they knew an adventure awaited with Uncle Jerry. Beloved by many he will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all those around him.

Jerry is survived by his son, Noel; parents, Juan and Irene Torres; brothers Jorge Torres (Marisol); Juan Torres Jr. (Imelda); and Willy Torres (Brenda); sisters Lupe Solis and Blanca LeSage (Parker); 11 nephews; 6 nieces; and 2 great-nieces.

Preceded in death by sister Hioana; maternal grandparents, Agustin Murillo and Lidia Ortega; and paternal grandmother, Consuelo Martinez Gurrero.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.&nbsp; Rosary will begin at 8 p.m.&nbsp; A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Cathedral.&nbsp; Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.&nbsp;

Dennis Eugene Levering, 82, of Salina, KS, was born June 16, 1942, to Donald and Juanita Levering. He fell asleep in the Lord's arms on October 26th, 2024.

Dennis was a devoted husband, father, and Papa. Many would know him as being a businessman, a jack-of-all-trades, compassionate, never knowing a stranger, and his readiness to serve others.

Dennis was raised and graduated in Burlington, KS, where he began work as a bank teller at the Burlington State Bank in 1960.

Dennis joined the Army National Guard in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1969. During his time served he received a Kansas Nation Guard service medal (5 years service), and a Commendation award for his meritorious service rendered during the disastrous June 8th of 1966 tornados, by guarding the Kansas State Capital for 5 months. &nbsp;

Dennis was set up on a blind date with Connie Baker in 1964 by his sister Judy. It was love at "First Radish Thrown". Dennis's humor stood out at the first meal with Connie's mother and father. Ruby, Connie's mother, hit him right between the eyes with a radish after he made an ornery joke. Her father, Glen, said, "He is the one." as they drove away. Six months later they were wed at the Burlington, KS, Church of Christ, on September 26th, 1965.

They welcomed their son Jeffrey Levering in May of 1967. After 3 babies were born into heaven Dennis and Connie decided to pursue adoption. They received word their 4-day-old baby girl was ready to be brought home. Julie Levering was brought into their loving arms on October 30th, 1975.

From an early age, Dennis had a career in the Agriculture and the Cattle Industry. He began his career helping with his father's farm, hay business, and ranch. He worked his way up to his first assistant manager position at Black Jack Feeders in Yates Center, KS. Dennis held his 2nd assistant manager position for 5 years at Sublette Feeders in Sublette, KS. With Hard work, Dennis accepted a manager position at SBar Feeders in Garden City, KS. Dennis then partnered in the creation of the Billy Allen horse feed company. Dennis partnered in purchasing Cattle Resources Incorporated (CRI) Feeders in Guymon, OK in 1980, and managed it for 9 years. He also consulted on a Brazilian feed yard shortly after. Dennis's cattle work came to a culmination when he and his son Jeff, breathed life into a family-owned and operated Feedlot/Ranching business, DJ Feeders, in 1989, supported by his wife Connie and daughter Julie.

Dennis had a dream to be successful enough to own and pilot a private plane. He was able to achieve this dream in 1984 by receiving his private pilot's license. He purchased a 4-passenger plane and then a 6-passenger plane and received his IFR rating. He enjoyed about 3500 hours of flight time.

Dennis was diagnosed in 1990 with Myasthenia Gravis, a rare auto-immune disease. In light of his diagnosis, Dennis left his beloved business, and gave up his plans to pursue an Associate of Technology degree at K-State Salina, graduating in 1997. So began his love for K-State football.

In his later years, Dennis's compassion led him to careers of serving his church, community, and others. Dennis worked at St. Francis Ministries as a maintenance worker, transporting kids and supervising parent visits. He transported train crews for Union Pacific Railroad. He then worked as a security guard for Salina Regional Health Center.

Dennis suffered his first grand mal seizure leading to his diagnosis of TIA and Vascular Dementia. He persevered through the disease with love and acceptance.

Dennis had many memorable years adding time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He taught many of them how to hunt, fish, play baseball, do immaculate yard work, work on vehicles, grow a garden, horseback riding, team roping, and enjoy old westerns.

Wisdom Dennis imparted to us includes "Everyone has something and this is mine" (regarding hard times), "It's always good to invest in people", and "grace is for everyone, that was a hard lesson."

He was preceded in death by his 3 Levering angel babies, grandchild Baby D. Bolay, father Don Levering, mother Juanita Levering (Gooch), brothers Richard and Daniel Levering.

Left to celebrate his life are his wife Connie Levering (Baker), son Jeff Levering, daughter and son-in-law Julie (Levering) and Nick Clayson; grandchildren Jasmine (Clayson) and Kyle Bolay, Cameron Manaugh (Levering), Bailee Levering, Cody Levering, Cooper Levering, Neena Clayson, Nicholas Clayson; Great-Grandchildren Madison Manaugh, Caylee Manaugh, Esther Bolay, Ana Bolay, Louis Bolay, baby Vera Bolay, and an abundance of other family and friends.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp; Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 31, at Church of Christ, 1646 N 9th Street, Salina. &nbsp;

Marla Heinen was born on March 23, 1937, in Beloit, Kansas to Dean and Velma Reddick. She passed away on October 21, 2024, in Salina Kansas. She graduated from high school in Red Cloud Nebraska.

Marla was a lifetime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church where she participated in the church choir.

Marla was a loving and faithful wife of 38 years; she loved attending sports and activities of her 7 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was known for her famous pumpkin pie when celebrating special occasions.

Marla and her husband John loved to travel and went on several cruises and visited all 50 states. She owned and operated a clothing boutique in Red Cloud, Nebraska and later represented KATZ Corporation as a sales representative for the next 20 years. She and John retired to South Texas where she enjoyed living on the beach, aerobics, volunteering at the community center and entertaining winter Texans. Upon returning to Salina Kansas in 2022 Marla and John enjoyed reconnecting with friends and spending time with family.

Marla is survived by her husband John of the home and her stepdaughters Becky Jones, Salina Kansas, and Shelly Farha (Dan) Concordia Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Scot Mathew, her parents Dean and Velma Reddick and stepdaughter Roberta Huseman.

A Celebration of Life for Marla Heinen will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salina, Kansas November 17th, at 4:00PM.

Kathy Jo (Tartar) Potts, 72, a former resident of Salina, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024, after a long illness.&nbsp; She was residing at Mayberry Gardens, Denton, TX to be near her sister.

Kathy was born in Columbus, KS on July 31, 1952, to Ralph and Gloria (Groshong) Tarter. Kathy married Doug Potts on July 2, 1980. He preceded her in death in 2017. She is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Paul. She grew up in Scammon, KS area and graduated from Southeast High School, Cherokee, KS.&nbsp; She then attended Fort Scott Community Junior College in Fort Scott, KS. graduating in Sept. 1973. She obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing and worked at several different hospitals before joining COMCARE, comprehensive family health care, in Salina. She received recognition for 30 years of dedicated service in 2006. She retired in 2018.

Kathy is survived by a son, Brian, of McPherson, KS; daughter, Dina Hanson (Roy) of Garden Grove; CA, grandchildren, Isaac, Zoey (Potts) Barenberg, Gunner Potts and Corin and Kira Hanson; a brother, Jim Tarter (Jan) of Pittsburg, KS, and sisters, Barbara Coy (Dale) of Lake Dallas, TX, and Pauline Keal of Independence, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Saturday, Nov 2, 2024, at 1 pm at Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E. Beloit, Salina, with Pastor Deb Schmidt officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Darrell Lee Wilson&nbsp;passed away Thursday evening October 24, 2024, at home surrounded by his wife, two sons and two daughters in law, as he wished to do. Darrell led a life of service laced with adventurous pursuits. He was born on July 26, 1931, in Asbury Hospital, Salina, Kansas and immediately thrust into the Great Depression. He would say he was “dirt poor” which is an accurate depiction of his family’s condition. At an early age his parents separated. Darrell was raised by his father who earned a living as a traveling millwright. Darrell, his dad and brother Jim traveled the country and lived in various communities, such as Danville, Illinois, Springfield, Missouri and a few others before landing in Denver, Colorado for a longer stretch.

Seeking adventure, Darrell decided to work on the railroad, so he started as a Gandy Dancer (google it, quite interesting) on a stretch of track in Wyoming. Not long after getting into the swing of his exciting occupation the U. S. Army communicated an urgent need for his presence, meaning, he had been drafted into service. After completing basic training in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri he returned to Colorado on leave before shipping out to Korea.

While on leave his best friend introduced Darrell to a beautiful young lady by the name of Carol Robertson who was a rancher’s daughter and cowgirl. The courtship began, then, two weeks after meeting for the first time they decided to marry in Raton, New Mexico on August 24, 1951. (Hasty? Maybe. But the marriage lasted 73 years.) On September 3, 1951, Darrell left for Korea. Upon his arrival he was trained as a Combat Medic. He served in that capacity until he returned home in April 1953. Darrell and Carol exchanged many letters during his stint in Korea. He later said that the letters helped them get better acquainted while he was away. No doubt it worked. He was honorably discharged soon after returning and began civilian life with Carol always by his side. His first job was with Western Electric in Denver. He was later transferred to El Paso, Texas, then returned to Salina to work with his brother, Jack Wilson. Jack and Darrell were Master Electricians by that time and started their own company, W&amp;W Electric, working in new home construction. Darrell owned W&amp;W Electric until July 1962.

Darrell met and became friends with a Salina Police Officer one day. The officer invited him to ride along in his patrol car in the evenings. Darrell loved it and was hooked so he applied for a job at the Salina Police Department. In July 1962 he was hired as a patrolman. Darrell rose through the ranks rapidly, to detective, then lieutenant and finally to Assistant Chief of Police in 1970. He worked under Chief John Woody, but aside from the employment aspect they were close friends. Where you saw one you usually saw the other in their personal and professional endeavors. Countless stories of their adventures are floating in the ether to this day. Darrell retired from SPD in late 1984. He campaigned for Saline County Sheriff and won to begin his tenure as County Sheriff in 1985 that lasted 12 years thru 2 re-elections. Darrell’s reputation and respect shown for him grew immensely while serving as sheriff.

In 1987, Darrell retired as Sheriff then took on the duties of Executive Director of the Kansas Sheriffs Association where Carol was already serving as Secretary/Treasurer. Together, they grew the KSA and met many people around the state, and nation. Darrell retired from KSA in 2011 to spend more time with his family. The retirement also resulted in retirement party number 3 where one of his sons pleaded with those in attendance to NOT hire him for anything because he was tired of attending retirement parties. Even then he didn’t disconnect himself from law enforcement. He remained actively involved with the SPD and Sheriff’s office whenever called upon for advice or to serve on boards and committees. Many in the field looked up to him as a mentor, especially newcomers who worked under him.

Darrell discovered his calling in the law enforcement field. His eye for detail, intelligence and personal drive for excellence made a perfect fit in his chosen occupation. Bonus attributes included a charismatic personality, great sense of humor and keen wit. He maintained a cool head at all times, even in very stressful situations. He was also quick with a joke, sometimes poking fun at himself but he never hesitated to take opportunities for the occasional, well-crafted practical joke. One of his favorite activities was sitting on his front porch next to Carol, drinking coffee and welcoming daily visitors, of which there were many. A fair number of passing cars would honk and wave to the Sheriff. The porch will never be the same without him.

He was preceded in death by his father Art and mother Gladys, brothers Jack and Jim, and great grandson Tristan.

Darrell is survived by Carol, wife of 73 years, son Scott and wife Teresa of Edmond, Oklahoma, son Mark and wife Diana of Overland Park, Kansas, brother Jeff,&nbsp; granddaughters Jessica (Ryan), Chelsey (Daniel), Danielle, grandsons Jarrett, Brent (Ryan), Nick (Lindsey), great grandson Caleb, great granddaughter Quinn, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends too numerous to mention.

The family extends deep and sincere thanks to Interim Healthcare. Amanda, Christina, Christy, Megan and Lonnie provided the best in hospice care in Darrell’s final weeks.

The Celebration of Darrell’s Life will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 11:00am at The Temple, 336 South Santa Fe, Salina, Kansas. The Celebration will be held in the theatre on the third floor. In addition to the stairs, an elevator with operator will be available.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kansas Sheriffs’ Association, P.O Box 1122, Pittsburg, Kansas 66762.

Leonard Wood, Missouri he returned to Colorado on leave before shipping out to Korea.While on leave his best friend introduced Darrell to a beautiful young lady by the name of Carol Robertson who was a rancher’s daughter and cowgirl. The courtship began, then, two weeks after meeting for the first time they decided to marry in Raton, New Mexico on August 24, 1951. (Hasty? Maybe. But the marriage lasted 73 years.) On September 3, 1951, Darrell left for Korea. Upon his arrival he was trained as a Combat Medic. He served in that capacity until he returned home in April 1953. Darrell and Carol exchanged many letters during his stint in Korea. He later said that the letters helped them get better acquainted while he was away. No doubt it worked. He was honorably discharged soon after returning and began civilian life with Carol always by his side. His first job was with Western Electric in Denver. He was later transferred to El Paso, Texas, then returned to Salina to work with his brother, Jack Wilson. Jack and Darrell were Master Electricians by that time and started their own company, W&amp;W Electric, working in new home construction. Darrell owned W&amp;W Electric until July 1962.Darrell met and became friends with a Salina Police Officer one day. The officer invited him to ride along in his patrol car in the evenings. Darrell loved it and was hooked so he applied for a job at the Salina Police Department. In July 1962 he was hired as a patrolman. Darrell rose through the ranks rapidly, to detective, then lieutenant and finally to Assistant Chief of Police in 1970. He worked under Chief John Woody, but aside from the employment aspect they were close friends. Where you saw one you usually saw the other in their personal and professional endeavors. Countless stories of their adventures are floating in the ether to this day. Darrell retired from SPD in late 1984. He campaigned for Saline County Sheriff and won to begin his tenure as County Sheriff in 1985 that lasted 12 years thru 2 re-elections. Darrell’s reputation and respect shown for him grew immensely while serving as sheriff.In 1987, Darrell retired as Sheriff then took on the duties of Executive Director of the Kansas Sheriffs Association where Carol was already serving as Secretary/Treasurer. Together, they grew the KSA and met many people around the state, and nation. Darrell retired from KSA in 2011 to spend more time with his family. The retirement also resulted in retirement party number 3 where one of his sons pleaded with those in attendance to NOT hire him for anything because he was tired of attending retirement parties. Even then he didn’t disconnect himself from law enforcement. He remained actively involved with the SPD and Sheriff’s office whenever called upon for advice or to serve on boards and committees. Many in the field looked up to him as a mentor, especially newcomers who worked under him.Darrell discovered his calling in the law enforcement field. His eye for detail, intelligence and personal drive for excellence made a perfect fit in his chosen occupation. Bonus attributes included a charismatic personality, great sense of humor and keen wit. He maintained a cool head at all times, even in very stressful situations. He was also quick with a joke, sometimes poking fun at himself but he never hesitated to take opportunities for the occasional, well-crafted practical joke. One of his favorite activities was sitting on his front porch next to Carol, drinking coffee and welcoming daily visitors, of which there were many. A fair number of passing cars would honk and wave to the Sheriff. The porch will never be the same without him.He was preceded in death by his father Art and mother Gladys, brothers Jack and Jim, and great grandson Tristan.Darrell is survived by Carol, wife of 73 years, son Scott and wife Teresa of Edmond, Oklahoma, son Mark and wife Diana of Overland Park, Kansas, brother Jeff,&nbsp; granddaughters Jessica (Ryan), Chelsey (Daniel), Danielle, grandsons Jarrett, Brent (Ryan), Nick (Lindsey), great grandson Caleb, great granddaughter Quinn, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends too numerous to mention.The family extends deep and sincere thanks to Interim Healthcare. Amanda, Christina, Christy, Megan and Lonnie provided the best in hospice care in Darrell’s final weeks.The Celebration of Darrell’s Life will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 11:00am at The Temple, 336 South Santa Fe, Salina, Kansas. The Celebration will be held in the theatre on the third floor. Wilma Lea Mosby&nbsp;departed from this world and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Christ on October 24, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on November 15,1946 in Council Grove KS to James and Velma (Campbell) Davis.

Wilma’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving mother to Tony, Mickey, Jerry and Christina. In addition to being a loving mother, Wilma also loved serving at the church, fishing, watching her KC Chiefs football and KU basketball games. Throughout her entire life she held an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ which she shared with those who surrounded her. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she has touched and we will hold her close in our hearts and remember the light and love she brought into this world.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, James and Velma, her brother, James Davis Jr, and sister Phoebe Hamilton. She is survived by her life partner, Darrell Hyman. Her four children, Mickey (Shelly) Davis, Jerry Forbes, Christina (Jeff) Martinez and James Davis Satterfield; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren. Her sisters, Gloria Evans, Juanita Oaks, and Joyce Whittaker.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 at Peter’s Rock Ministries, 256 South 8th, Salina KS.

Esther (Engel) Weber, age 95, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Esther was born and raised in Grainfield, Kansas.&nbsp; She learned the value of hard work, both on the farm and at school.&nbsp; During high school she played basketball, softball, volleyball, and graduated valedictorian of her class. After high school she worked as a switchboard operator until she married the love of her life, Sil Weber, on October 26, 1949.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Following their wedding day they moved to Brookville, Kansas.&nbsp; They owned and operated a gas station on Highway 40. Esther ran the gas station and cared for three small children while Sil held down a full-time job in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; In 1958 they moved to Salina, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp; Esther and Sil were partners in all things including raising five children, operating a large chicken farm, and managing the Salina Interparochial Credit Union.&nbsp; Esther loved to dance, play cards, and board games.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Esther had a deep, abiding faith demonstrated by attending daily Mass, praying the rosary daily and serving in many Church volunteer positions over the years.&nbsp;&nbsp; One of Esther’s greatest joys was instilling a deep faith in her children.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In recent years, Esther participated in many activities at Eaglecrest Retirement Community especially being a proud member of the Charming Chimers bell choir.&nbsp;

Esther is preceded in death by her husband Sil Weber and daughter Kathleen Weber.

She is survived by her children Ruth (Ron) Evel, Verla (Frank) Hoffman, Father Keith Weber, Norma (Mike) Knipp, Duane (Bonnie) Weber.&nbsp; Esther is also survived by her grandchildren Kevin Evel, Eric Evel, Khara Raatz, Sister Mary Gretchen RSM, Emily Jansen Van Rensburg, and Joseph Knipp as well as four great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Marie Meier.&nbsp;

An obituary is defined as the brief biography of a deceased person. A biography is defined as the telling of someone's life. The task of taking a long, well-lived, event-filled life and turning it into something brief, is next to impossible.

Billy Gene McWhorter, known as Bill to his friends, and he had many, was born on July 12, 1936, and returned to his beloved wife, Bernie, on Oct. 27, 2024. Bill had friends. Not acquaintances. To know him was to be a friend and to be his friend meant being family. It meant being loved and valued and meant he'd do anything for you. And to be clear, he didn't have to know your name to consider you a friend. If a car was stalled on the road, he'd stop to help. When an ex-employee showed up one bitterly cold day and Bill discovered that he'd walked to the factory, Bill gave the man his car, not to borrow. To keep. When he discovered a homeless man had slept in his van one night after he forgot to lock the door, he made sure he kept the doors unlocked every night so the man would have a place to sleep, and he invited the man inside his shop every morning to use the restroom, to drink coffee with him, and to provide an ear so the man, also named Bill as it turned out, could talk about his life. So he could feel like he mattered in a world that seemed to have forgotten him.

If you knew Bill, you knew that he told the best stories. His life hadn't been easy, but no work of fiction could stand up to the stories of Bill and his brother Charlie growing up: Bill working three jobs, sleeping in his car for three years, and how devastated he was one Christmas when he'd promised his parents and siblings a holiday worth celebrating, only to find out the “big bonus" he was expecting, was five dollars. A certain young lady who would become his wife helped him, and together, they made Christmas wishes come true.

Not only did he tell the best stories, but Bill was also a collector of them. He kept twenty-dollar bills in the front pocket of his shirt and drove around town looking for people down on their luck so that he could not only give them enough money to buy a meal or two, but he could give them an ear. He could give them the validation of knowing someone cared to hear their story. To acknowledge their humanity.

While tough childhoods are often springboards into bitterness, Bill had none of that in him. There was no one unworthy of his time or concern. And while he did not carry his faith on his sleeve, it was the steel in his character that kept him from worrying about whatever crisis life might throw his way. His faith kept him always focused on how he could be of help to someone else.

Bill and LaVerne were childhood sweethearts and their devotion to each other never waned. He would always say that the best years of his life were the ones totally devoted to caring for her. They raised five children who are still living; William McWhorter, Bryan McWhorter, Chris McWhorter, Greg McWhorter, and Debra Dockter. Bill and Bernie are loved by daughter-in-law and a son-in-law, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry their legacy of love and devotion on for generations.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Oscarine McWhorter, his brothers Owen, Charlie, and Jake, and his sister, Patty. He is survived by his siblings Dave and Jim McWhorter, Sandy Smith, Libby McWhorter-Ahrens, and Ruth Bartuska and sister-in-law Helen Corby.

As his life and character are celebrated, it is worth noting that there is a guardian angel in Heaven who is receiving a well-earned retirement. That angel served Bill very well and his family is very grateful. Rest well dear angel, and thanks for watching over one of God's best children. He will be missed, but his love will live on.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at St. Mary’s Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery, Salina. Jean Marie Loader, residing at Presbyterian Manor in Salina, KS, passed away peacefully at age 87, on October 25, 2024.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;She was born in Grinnell, Kansas on October 24, 1937 to Nick and Lucy Nieman.&nbsp; Jean married Donald Loader in Salina, on August 30, 1969.&nbsp; She graduated from Marymount College with a bachelor’s degree in education.&nbsp; She was a volunteer and served for three years in Jamaica.&nbsp;&nbsp; Jean was a favorite grade school teacher for many years at Salina Catholic Schools.&nbsp; She also co-owned Don Loader interiors and worked at the Market Shop until she retired.&nbsp; She was avid bridge player, bowler, sports fan and book reader.&nbsp; Spending her spare time with family.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jean is survived by her two sons, Jon Loader and Jim Loader (Michael Chambers); grandson, Stephen Loader; her brothers Kenny Nieman and Jerry Nieman, Lawrence Nieman; brother in law, Jerry Belt; many nieces and nephews.

Jean Loader

Robert Joseph Allen, 54, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, lovingly surrounded by members of his family.

Rob was born on December 7, 1969, in Belleville, Kansas, the first of two children of Roger and Pam Allen. When he was a kid, Rob always had a basketball, tennis ball, or football in his hands, and he loved being in the middle of any action. He spent hours on basketball and tennis courts, playing high school varsity in both sports. After Rob graduated from Salina South High School in 1988, he went on to study journalism at the University of Kansas and was a brother of the KU Chapter of Phi Delta Theta.

After graduating from KU, he started his first job as a sales executive at Unum, kickstarting a thirty-year career in insurance and employee benefits. Along the way Rob spent time golfing and traveling for work, and he found a new calling as “Uncle Rob” to Izzy.

In 2005, Rob met Meghann Johnson at the office. Five years later on March 19, 2010, with close friends and family, Rob and Meg married in a snow-covered cabin in Allenspark, Colorado. On September 30, 2013, they welcomed twin boys, Jack and Gus, who became the center of their universe. Four-legged babies – Whiskey and Bruce – were also important Allen family additions.

In June 2022, Rob was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He continued to work full-time for the better part of two years. Between surgeries and treatments, in true Good Vibes – Be A Goldfish – Never Give Up fashion, Rob and his family became road-trip warriors. Destinations included St. Louis to catch a Cubs game (of course!) and to ascend the Arch, and multiple western National Parks and sites: the Badlands, Devil’s Tower, Grand Tetons (including Colter Bay – where Jack gets his middle name), Yellowstone, RMNP, Grand Canyon (North and South Rims!), Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands. Rob loved the open road, American history, and introducing his boys to these special places.

A happy Rob would be found watching thoroughbred horse racing, his Cubbies, the Celtics, the Jayhawks, the Stars, and college football. He enjoyed reading with a particular interest in historical books. His favorite was Lonesome Dove, where he found the name Gus.

Rob was predeceased by grandparents Clarence and Elise Lott, Bernard Allen, Elva Lee (Allen) Jones and cousin Luke Allen.  </figure>Robert Joseph Allen, 54, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 19, 2024, lovingly surrounded by members of his family.Rob was born on December 7, 1969, in Belleville, Kansas, the first of two children of Roger and Pam Allen. When he was a kid, Rob always had a basketball, tennis ball, or football in his hands, and he loved being in the middle of any action. He spent hours on basketball and tennis courts, playing high school varsity in both sports. After Rob graduated from Salina South High School in 1988, he went on to study journalism at the University of Kansas and was a brother of the KU Chapter of Phi Delta Theta.After graduating from KU, he started his first job as a sales executive at Unum, kickstarting a thirty-year career in insurance and employee benefits. Along the way Rob spent time golfing and traveling for work, and he found a new calling as “Uncle Rob” to Izzy.In 2005, Rob met Meghann Johnson at the office. Five years later on March 19, 2010, with close friends and family, Rob and Meg married in a snow-covered cabin in Allenspark, Colorado. On September 30, 2013, they welcomed twin boys, Jack and Gus, who became the center of their universe. Four-legged babies – Whiskey and Bruce – were also important Allen family additions.In June 2022, Rob was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He continued to work full-time for the better part of two years. Between surgeries and treatments, in true Good Vibes – Be A Goldfish – Never Give Up fashion, Rob and his family became road-trip warriors. Destinations included St. Louis to catch a Cubs game (of course!) and to ascend the Arch, and multiple western National Parks and sites: the Badlands, Devil’s Tower, Grand Tetons (including Colter Bay – where Jack gets his middle name), Yellowstone, RMNP, Grand Canyon (North and South Rims!), Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands. Rob loved the open road, American history, and introducing his boys to these special places.A happy Rob would be found watching thoroughbred horse racing, his Cubbies, the Celtics, the Jayhawks, the Stars, and college football. He enjoyed reading with a particular interest in historical books. His favorite was Lonesome Dove, where he found the name Gus.Rob was predeceased by grandparents Clarence and Elise Lott, Bernard Allen, Elva Lee (Allen) Jones and cousin Luke Allen. Melvin Vincent "Skip" Hansen Jr., a beloved husband, father, entrepreneur, outdoorsman, and U.S. Navy veteran passed away peacefully on the evening of Oct 24th after a long courageous battle with cancer leaving behind a legacy of outdoor sportsmanship, hard work, and dedication to everyone and everything he loved. 

Born on January 17, 1948, in Albuquerque, New Mexico,Skip proudly served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971 as a boatswain's mate, instilling in him a strong sense of duty and commitment.

In Las Vegas Nevada, he married Jan Hansen, and together they shared 42 wonderful years filled with love and adventure. For over 50 years, Skip was a fixture in the used car business, dedicating himself to helping customers find reliable used vehicles. 

In 1982, he moved to Kansas, where he founded J &amp; S Motors in Salina and later opened Truck Store LLC with his son Michael. Their shared passion for the outdoors provided Skip immense joy as they shared countless adventures together.

An avid outdoorsman, Skip loved fishing and archery hunting, often enjoying these activities with his son Michael as well as his friends. He cherished time spent with his family and pets, and had a particular passion for restoring and selling old trucks. He enjoyed fishing trips, hunting excursions, listening to classic country music, dancing, and traveling with Jan, all of which showcased his love for nature and adventure. 

He was a very generous man that gave a lot and expected nothing in return. He loved to joke, had a great sense of humor, and had a true sense of how life should be lived to the fullest. Skip was easy to forgive and never let much bother him or bring him down. He was always happy and enjoyed the life he lived. His fun and competitive nature shined bright on all he was around.

Skip is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Dean Hansen; father, Melvin Vincent Hansen; sister, DeAnne Kenney; and granddaughter, Kayla Hansen. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jan Hansen; children: Michael Hansen of Brookville, Kansas; Tamara Sanchez of Castle Rock, Colorado; Kristal Cisneros of Taos, New Mexico; and James Hansen of Overland Park, Kansas; as well as six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A private graveside service will be held at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Fort Riley/Manhattan. Skip will be remembered for his generosity, fun spirit, kindness, laughter, and the profound impact he had on those around him. His entrepreneurial fun-loving spirit will always be remembered. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of his loved ones.

Pearl L. Besecker, 95, a lifetime McPherson County resident, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, surrounded by family at Pleasant View Home, Inman.&nbsp; She was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress and a factory worker.

Pearl was born on January 30, 1929, at her home near Lehigh, KS, the daughter of David and Mary Elizabeth (Schneider) Winter.&nbsp; She attended a country grade school near Lehigh and graduated from Galva High School.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Pearl was united in marriage to William Albert “Bud” Besecker on June 17, 1948, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson.&nbsp; Pearl and Bud spent their entire married life in McPherson County, living in the towns of Roxbury, Canton, Windom, and McPherson.&nbsp; They were married for 65 years prior to his passing on April 15, 2014.

Pearl was a devout Christian and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and most recently, she attended the New Gottland Lutheran Church.&nbsp; She was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #2715 and enjoyed being part of the Gently Aged Ladies, which is a group of special ladies who make quilts and present them to veterans in appreciation of their service.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Peggy) Besecker of Benton, WI; daughter, Judy Jennings of Lakin, KS; son-in-law, Van Bacon of Canton, KS; grandchildren, Scott Wayne (Martha) Besecker, Amanda Ross, Jennifer (Sean) Wilson, Jolene (Dave) Schmidt, Justin Bacon, Jessica (Matthew) Boller, Joseph Jennings, James Jennings, Julie Jennings, and Jodie (Leighton) Werth; 11 great-grandchildren; and many more extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Pamela Bacon; son-in-law, Russ Jennings; seven sisters, Lydia Huenergardt, Olinda Meier, Esther Smith, Dorothy Converse, Helen Minns, Mary Jane Carlson, &amp; Ruth Ann Dick; and two brothers, Albert Winter, and Robert Winter.

Lester's family grew to include numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Emily Brown, Michael Brown, Keith Brown, Andrew Brown, Garrett Brown, Brandon Burton, Miranda Drouillard, Brooke Burton, LaToyia Burton, Kenda Barker, Kylee Wiegand, Kody Tremblay, Kirsten Tremblay, Adrian Castelli, Emma Castelli, Crystal Duchesneau, Brittany Forseth, Chase Burton, and 33 great-grandchildren. Lester's professional life was dedicated to floor coverings, while his personal life revolved around hunting, camping, fishing, and family. Edith Marie Hatton, 81, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Dodge City, KS, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, KS.

Edith was born on April 13, 1943, in Dodge City, KS, the daughter of Lawrence George and Loretto Margaret (Downey) Conrardy.&nbsp; She graduated from St. Mary of the Plains High School and Wilcox Beauty Academy, both in Dodge City.&nbsp; On June 15, 1974, Edith was united in marriage to Eugene Hatton in Wright, KS.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on April 18, 1992.

She lived in Dodge City most of her life and was a licensed cosmetologist, owning &amp; operating five different hair salons in Dodge City.&nbsp; She also served four years on the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology.

Survivors include four siblings, Francis (Susan) Conrardy of Lodi, CA, Paul (Peggy) Conrardy of Meade, KS, Mark (Earline) Conrardy of Dodge City, KS, and Mary Ann Conrardy of McPherson, KS; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces &amp; nephews, and great-great-nieces &amp; nephews.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Patricia Ashline, Judy Sexson, Sister Marietta Conrardy, CSJ, Larry Conrardy, and Martin Conrardy.

Karen Ruth Gilbert entered this world on December 30, 1946 and left us on October 22, 2024. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, and a friend to many. She enjoyed playing board games, cards, piano, as well as singing karaoke and dancing. She loved all types of animals; specifically, cats or dogs that would sleep on her lap for extended periods of time.&nbsp;

&nbsp;She was born Karen Wendt in Marysville KS and was adopted by Evans and Lillian Newton in 1953, who raised her in Green KS. She attended elementary and grade school in Green, then graduated high school from Blue Valley. She worked as a bookkeeper in the Clay County area for 40 years. She started that bookkeeping career at the Morganville Grain Co in 1972 and she retired from Farmway Coop in Clay Center in 2012. She served on the board of C &amp; R Credit Union, was the pianist for the Clay Center Bible Church for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Lighthouse For Christ after retirement.

&nbsp;Survivors include her son, Greg Gilbert and daughter, Amy (Jim) Green; sister, Charlotte (Dennie) Braddock; sister-in-law, Connie Richardson; grandchildren, Matt (Elizabeth) Gilbert and Corey (Jazarae) Gilbert and Kayla Green, along with great grandkids, Naomi, Lennox and Sophia and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brothers Jim Richardson and Clayton Glick; half-sister, Joan Davis and grandson Tyler Green.&nbsp;

Our beloved wife and mother, Betty Louise Norton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born April 28, 1927, in Newton, Kansas, to Emma Marie (Holinde) and Hyron Floyd Leckington.

Betty married Ellis R. Norton on July 14, 1953, and together they were blessed with four children: Jennifer S. Skidmore (Rick, deceased), Jeffrey R. Norton (deceased), John P. Norton (Amy), and Janet E. Gagna (Joe). She was a loving grandmother to: Tyler N. Skidmore (Catherine), Justin C. Gagna (Caitlyn Niemczyk), Parker R. Norton (Tatum), and Zoe B. Norton. Her anticipated first great-granddaughter, Sophie J. Skidmore, is expected November 1, 2024.

Betty was employed by USD 305 for 35 years, and after her retirement in 1991, she enjoyed travel, playing golf, watercolor painting, shopping, and trips to the casino. Betty was born to be a mother and a grandmother. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.

There will be a private family service at a later date, with burial at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

Pamela Dean, 67, passed away on October 19, 2024 at her home in Salina, Ks. She was born on December 12, 1956 to Ernest and Cleta (Havely) Bradshaw in Lincoln, Ks. She was one of twelve children.

She worked in daycare for 13 years, and then went on to work at the Holiday Inn for 10 years before retirement. She loved being a caregiver to all of the daycare kids through the years. She enjoyed dancing to country music and her favorite colors were blue and white. In the last months, she loved to give hugs and make sure everyone knew that she loved them.

She is survived by her spouse of 48 years, David Collins, two children; Tony and Kevin Dean.

Pamela Dean

Marvin D. Petersen, 88, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 in Concordia, KS.  He was born December 13, 1935 in the Northwoods of Wisconsin far from the nearest settlement, southwest of Danbury, nestled in the dark green of the northern pine.  He was the seventh of eleven children born to Anton M. and Selma E. (Schmichel) Petersen.  Marvin spent his early years helping on the family farm, attending Bluff Lake School, fishing, playing baseball, picking berries and going to movies on Saturdays in Webster.

He joined the US Army in 1953 and served through 1955 as part of the Army of Occupation in Germany.  He joined the US Air Force in 1956 serving in the Weather Squadron.  During this time he was stationed in Wichita, KS, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sonderstrom AFB in Greenland, and Topeka, KS.  While in Argentina Marvin was part of Operation Crowflight, a top-secret Cold War project involving the US Air Force.  He provided meteorological support to U2 pilots on high altitude radiological sampling missions.  Marvin completed his military service in 1962 and took the skills he had acquired to the National Weather Service.

While stationed in Wichita, Marvin met Eudora Speelman and they were married on April 29, 1962 in Dodge City, Kansas.  On April 30 they moved to Concordia.  In 1963 they moved to Sioux Falls, SD and remained there until they had the opportunity to return to Concordia in 1968.  He served the NWS until 1990.  Subsequently, he delivered RVs and busses, giving him the opportunity to see much of the United States and Canada.  He also took time to grow tomatoes, plant trees, serve the community through the Lions Club and First United Methodist Church, and be a devoted Papa.  Marvin and Eudora were Cooperative Weather Observers for 23 years, documenting and reporting weather data for the National Weather Service.  In 2020 they were presented the John Campanius Holm Award by the US Department of Commerce National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in recognition of exemplary reporting of meteorological observations through highly accurate and detailed temperature and precipitation records providing a valuable resource to the Nation’s climate and weather programs.

In retirement, Marvin enjoyed time in his garden, reading a few pages from one of the hundreds of books that lined his bookshelves or browsing the latest edition of National Geographic. He enjoyed any chance to travel – near or far – to see new things or visit friends and relatives. His greatest joy was his family and the simple pleasure of being with those he loved. Family vacations, evenings watching the news, telling stories with his brothers, and, of course, finding any reason to spend time with his two grand-daughters. In all endeavors and activities, Marvin led with quiet confidence and empathy for all he encountered, be they the people in his life, or the dozens of dogs and cats fortunate enough to have received a gentle stroke of his hand.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Anton Jr, Denver, Venzel, and Dewey, and sister Mary Garcia.  He is survived by his wife, Eudora, Concordia, KS; daughter Emilie, Wichita, KS; son Nelsen, Superior, NE; granddaughters Greta (Sam) Dee, Chicago, IL; and Sara, Wichita, KS; brothers Albert (Evelyn), Eau Claire, WI;  Calvin, Webster, WI;  Chlorn (Karen), Chippewa Falls, WI;  Dorsey (Andrea), Ellsworth, WI; and Wilkie (Rita), Webster, WI;  sister-in-law Effie Petersen, Marion, NC: brother-in-law Joseph (Sheryl) Speelman, The Woodlands, TX; numerous nephews and nieces, and many friends.  

Visitation will be held on October 27, 2024 from 1pm to 7pm at Nutter Mortuary in Concordia, KS. 

Funeral services will be on October 28, 2024 at 10am at Concordia First United Methodist Church, Concordia, KS with Pastor Mark Crist officiating.

Marvin D. Petersen

Richard J. Northam was born June 8, 1937 in Maud, Oklahoma the son of Floyd and Bessie (Gillham) Northam. He passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at the Salina Regional Health Center in Salina.

Following his graduation, Richard received his bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement from Sacramento State University in Sacramento, California.

Richard was a Police Officer for several years and was then a Highway Patrolman for many years before retiring. Following his retirement he was a school bus driver the Abilene School District.

Richard enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved spending time with family especially his grandchildren.

On August 31, 1958 he was united in marriage to Rosa Lee White in Petaluma, California. They spent 66 years together. Rosa survives of the home. Other survivors include his daughters Barbara Reynoso and her husband Boni of Abilene, Betty Halterman and her husband James of Abilene, sons Richard L. Northam of Abilene, Kevin Northam of Abilene, brother Doyle Northam of Branson, Missouri, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Lowell, sisters Jean Rose, Wilma Kilgore, and his parents.

Memorial services for Richard will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the United Brethren in Christ Church (200 S. Kuney) with Pastor Donald Goodwin officiating. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew "Matty" Chavez, who left us on October 16, 2024, at the age of 56. A vibrant soul, Matty was known for his infectious love for life, quick wit, and an unparalleled sense of humor that could brighten even the darkest of days.

Matt was born on July 25, 1968, in Frankfurt, Germany to Antonio and Rachael Chavez. Matt's passion for sports was evident from a young age. He loved playing baseball and fast pitch as well as coaching little league or just sitting in the stands. He was a dedicated fan of the Denver Broncos, New York Yankees, and Michigan, often rallying friends and family alike to cheer for his teams. Sundays were not just game days; they were a time for family, filled with laughter, stories, and love, as Matt would make his routine calls to check in on those he cherished most.

Matt had a gift for forming lasting friendships, many of which began in childhood. His ability to connect with others made him a beloved figure in his community, and he took great pride in maintaining those bonds throughout his life. His friends often remarked on how Matt could make any gathering feel special with his humor and warmth.

Matt is preceded in death by his father Antonio, his brother Christopher and nephew Tyrone and&nbsp;is survived by his mother Rachael, his loving wife, Karen; his son, Tyler; his treasured siblings and&nbsp;beloved furry pal Pretty Boy Floyd who were the lights of his life. He leaves behind a community of friends who will forever hold dear the memories of his laughter and love.

Though Matt may have departed from this world, his spirit, love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever celebrated for the beautiful life he led.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 100 Burr Oak Lane, Salina on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 10am. A Rosary will be held at 9am prior to the service. (LeRoch) Joseph Brin, 91, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully in his
sleep on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Brookdale Senior Living Home. He was
born October 13, 1933, in Damar, Kansas, the son of Adrian and Emma (Lanoue)
Brin.

LeRock
graduated from Damar High School in 1952. During his high school years, he
played baseball, loved dancing and enjoyed driving his hot rods. As a teenager,
he bought his very first Model T for $25 that he drove 131 miles with his
grandmother, from Aurora, Kansas to Damar.

After
graduating from high school, he married Germaine Thyfault on June 12, 1952.
They were married for 24 years in which they loved to go out dancing with their
friends. LeRock was a jack of all trades, he was the first owner/operator of
the filling station located on highway 18 at Damar. He also owned heavy dirt
moving equipment and was a soil conservation contractor, spending countless hours
building terraces and water ways throughout Rooks and Graham counties. LeRock
was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

LeRock
and his family moved to Salina, KS, in 1969, where he started a remodeling and
drywall business. Later in life, he purchased and drove his own semi-truck for
Stress Cast of Salina. 

He
was married to Beverly Mauk and later in life he had a long relationship with
June Rotach. In his final years he enjoyed working in his welding shop where he
made all kinds of unique gadgets, planting a large garden, and hanging out with
his best buddy, Spike (the dog.)

Survivors
include his four children: Jerry Lee (Tillie) Brin of Wichita, Randall Joseph
(JaNae) Brin, Janelle Marie (Mike) Hull, and Mark Alan (Darla) Brin all of
Salina. LeRock was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Louis Brin in 2007. 

LeRock
is also survived by his siblings: Connie Desbien of Palco, Verlee Burton of
Salina, Carrol Brin, Adrienne Cargile, and Mallone Normandin all of Hays. He is
preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Brin.

LeRock
is the beloved Pepe to fifteen grandkids and the beloved Great Pepe to twenty great
grandchildren (with one on the way!) 

Services
are scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday, November 2nd at St. Joseph
Catholic Church, Damar; followed by burial at the church cemetery.

LeRock (LeRoch) Joseph Brin

Delmer Henry Thibault, former resident of Hutchinson, Kansas passed away on October 19, 2024 at Locust Grove Village in Lacrosse, KS at the age of 89. He was born July 15, 1935, in Graham County Kansas to Leo and Lola (Benoit) Thibault, the oldest of twelve siblings. Delmer began his life in Bogue and Damar, KS until the dust bowl, the drought and hopes of a better job moved his family to California in August of 1943 in the midst of WWII. The Thibaults spent the next few years in California until they moved back to Osborne, Kansas to farm in 1946.

Delmer graduated from Osborne High School on May 21st, 1953. He and his cousin Jed Simoneau decided that the military was the best pursuit. Delmer enlisted in the Army on July 28th, 1955, and was a mechanic in the Army’s 2nd Howitzer Battalion in the 6th Artillery Regiment and received numerous decorations for his service. He was honorably discharged on June 30th, 1963.

Returning from the Army, Delmer and friends Marvin Reynolds and Don Forgue worked for contractors to build the Wilson Lake dam and other dams in Kansas. After doing this for a couple years, they decided to enroll at Fort Hays State University where Delmer pursued a degree in psychology with help from the GI Bill and by working as an orderly and operating room technician at Hadley Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.

In 1965 Delmer met Patricia Schuckman at Fort Hays State University then marrying on September 10th, 1966, at St Joseph Catholic Church in Hays, Kansas. They lived in Wooster Place, then Agnew Hall and McMindes Hall as resident managers. After Delmer completed his undergraduate degree in psychology, then his master’s degree in counseling August 1968, he started working at High Plains Mental Health in Hays, KS. They moved to Ellis, Kansas in 1973 where they welcomed their only child Paul in 1976 and later separated.

Delmer spent many of his years in Hutchinson, Kansas where he set roots and worked as a psychologist at Horizons Mental Health Center. He was very dedicated to his profession and enjoyed helping his clients. He looked forward to summer vacations with his son Paul biking, hiking and exploring in Missouri and Arkansas. They played tennis on most summer nights, and had countless weekend trips to Cheney Lake near Wichita, KS to go sailboating.&nbsp;

Delmer met Marilyn Marie Clarke Sherman in May of 2010 at the Elmdale Senior Center in Hutchinson, KS where they danced and visited with friends. Delmer and Marilyn were engaged on September 29th, 2010. They enjoyed vacationing during their time together and attending an annual trip to Branson to meet his Army Battalion friends. They both retired from their careers together in 2011 and have been together ever since.&nbsp;

He loved spending his free time sailing, biking, tinkering, working on old tractors, going to threshing festivals, listening to French Cajun and classical music, and playing cards. Going to auctions was his favorite past time. Delmer will be greatly missed by all that knew him.Delmer is survived by son Paul Thibault (Jennifer), grandchildren Miles and Martin Thibault, significant other Marilyn Sherman and siblings Leola Crittendon, Albuquerque, NM, Sister Carmella Thibault, Concordia, KS, Gerry Peterson, Salina, KS, Joyce (Dan) Rice, Hays, KS, Marion (Paul) Steichen, Salina, KS Gary (Gayle) Thibault, Omaha, NE, Alvin (Danette) Thibault, Omaha, NE, Lonnie (Lea) Thibault, Osborne, KS, Lester Thibault, Osborne, KS, and Bob Thibault, Topeka, KS. He was preceded in death by his sister Darlene Curry of Plainville, KS.Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 215 West 13th Street Hays, Kansas 67601, inurnment, inclusive of Military Honors, will follow the services in the parish cemetery.
