Mariel Lorene (Ohlde) Kolle passed away on April 24, 2025, in Clay Center. She was born on September 13, 1937, in Palmer, Kansas, the daughter of Oscar and Olga (Moddelmog) Ohlde. Mariel attended St. John's Lutheran School at Palmer and Linn Rural High School, graduating in 1955.

She married Norman Kolle on December 18, 1955, and lived in Clay Center for about 10 years before moving to the Overland Park area in 1965. They returned to Clay Center in 1973.

In 1974, Mariel worked for Pfeifley's Jewelry, and in 1976 she was employed at the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor as a bookkeeper. She returned to school, taking courses to become the Executive Director of the Manor which she became in January of 1979.

Mariel was a KAHA member during her employment at the Manor and served on various committees for State health care organizations as well as served as a board member for 2 years for KAHSA, Kansas Assn. for Health care Services for the Aged. She also served on health care committees in the local community. She retired in June of 2003, but assisted when needed at the Manor for several more years.

She was an active member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she served on various committees and volunteered. She was also a BPW member during her employment years and served on committees in that organization.

Mariel loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, attending their school and sports activities. She also enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing cards and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Debra Ann, parents, and brother Wayne.

Survivors include: Daughter: Cynthia (Bob) Olson of Green, KS Daughter: Saundra (Joe) McCurry of Wakefield, KS 5 grandchildren, Aubrianna (Jeremy) Nienhuser, Allysa (Rich) Schurle, Gabriella (Lance) Stafford, Colby (Paige) Smith, Cassie Danielle (Zac) Laird 10 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services: 10:00 AM Friday May 2, 2025, at St Paul Lutheran Church in Clay Center, KS. Inurnment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Palmer.

Visitation: 5-7 PM Thursday, May 1 at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center Memorial contributions to St. Paul Luther Church or Meadowlark Hospice c/o the funeral home.
