Jack J. Robinson, DVM, age 79, formerly of Centralia, KS, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS.

Jack was born on July 10, 1945, in Frankfort, KS to Joseph Lowry &amp; Martha Mae (Shearer) Robinson. He grew up in Frankfort along with his younger brother, Phil Robinson. Jack was involved in a variety of activities, but particularly enjoyed playing baseball, football, and basketball during his school years.  In addition to playing sports, Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family in Frankfort.  Jack graduated from Frankfort High School in 1963. After graduation, Jack went to Kansas State University and graduated with a BS in Animal Sciences.  From there, Jack continued his education at Kansas State to pursue his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.  During this journey, Jack joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Fort Riley after his training.

It was at the College of Veterinary Medicine where Jack met his future bride, Mary Beth Kelley. Jack and Mary Beth would marry on May 20, 1972.  They both graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1974.  They started their veterinary career together in Wetmore, KS in 1974.   After one year, they moved to Centralia, KS to start the Centralia Animal Clinic in partnership with his brother, Phil Robinson, DVM.  They fell in love with the Centralia community and practiced there for 38 years until they retired in September of 2013.

In 1975, Jack and Mary Beth had their first son, Casey. Three years later, they welcomed their second son, Todd, into the world. Jack loved his boys, and you would always see them together “helping” dad out.

Jack poured his love of baseball into the Centralia community. He was a proud member of the Centralia Ball Association and worked hard to bring the new baseball field to Centralia. Jack coached every level of Centralia baseball at different times over the course of many years and he spent countless hours prepping the field for games.

Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was known to never get a good night’s sleep the night before pheasant/quail season opened because of his excitement.  He enjoyed raising Brittany/English Setter bird dogs for over 45 years.

Jack enjoyed raising and showing registered Paint horses.  He was active with the Centralia 4H program. Jack loved sports, particularly Centralia and Kansas State athletics.  He has been a K-State season ticket holder for nearly 40 years.  Jack also enjoyed being the public address announcer for Centralia basketball for many years.

Jack’s biggest joy later in his life was his four grandsons (Grant, Gavin, Jack, and Charlie).  He was very proud of them and their biggest fan.  Jack was known to be a very nice, hardworking man who had a good sense of humor, but his biggest accomplishments were being a great husband, father, and grandfather.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents (Joseph Lowry &amp; Martha Mae). He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth, Concordia, KS; sons, Todd Robinson (Leah), Concordia, KS and Casey Robinson (Jenny), Ft. Collins, CO; grandsons, Grant and Gavin Robinson, Concordia, KS and Jack and Charlie Robinson, Ft. Collins, CO; brother, Dr. Phil Robinson, DVM (Vicki), Salina, KS and many friends and other relatives.

A memorial service to celebrate Jack will be held Monday, November 25th at 11:00 AM at the Centralia Community Church, Centralia, Kansas with Pastor Deborah Hanes-Nelson and Pastor Ora Martindale officiating.  The burial will be at the Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, KS.

Jack J. Robinson

John Burton Pinder, 73, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, November 5th, 2024.

John was born in Concordia, Kansas on September 9, 1951, to Chauncy and Marie Pinder.

John and Mary Ann (Zachmann) Pinder were married August 19th, 1977.

After graduating from Salina High School, he received his degree in electrical engineering. He later started working as a General Manager at Little Valley Nursery Brighton in Colorado where he fulfilled his passion of growing and nurturing plants. In 2012, he was Colorado Nurseryman of the Year.

In John's free time, he enjoyed going to the mountains, photography, yard work, and birding.

Survivors include his two step sons, Mike Fuller (Mechelle), Mark Fuller (Judy); and brother Bob Pinder (Bernadette).

He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Andrew, Mallory, Curtis, Kristi, David, Kelly, Katie; and 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Pinder and parents.

Cremation has been chosen and a memorial service will take place for John and his wife, Mary, at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellis, Kansas with Pastor John Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Ellis, Kansas.

John Burton Pinder

Betty Anne Beach (Wagner), 97, passed away peacefully at home in Salina KS on November 5, 2024. She was born June 19, 1927, in Ellsworth KS.

Betty grew up on a farm in the Ellsworth/Brookville area where she met her husband Charles H Beach.&nbsp; They wed on April 7, 1946, and raised 4 children, Connie, Charles, Cheryl and Cindy.&nbsp; She was a long-standing member of the Fidelity Rebekah Lodge, the Brookville United Methodist Church, and Brookville Senior Citizens.

She did many things in her lifetime; from teaching in a One Room Schoolhouse to working on a Military Project at Cal Tech University to owning a Moving and Storage company.&nbsp; But her most rewarding experience was being with her children and grandchildren.&nbsp; Charles and Betty traveled and lived all over the United States.&nbsp; She was always up for anything and could make friends with anyone she met.&nbsp; Her joy lit up any room she entered.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Beach; son, Charles V Beach; parents, George and Clara (Warta) Wagner; brothers Joe Ray Wagner and George Wagner; Sister, Mary (Wagner) Lolley; son-in-law, Harold Kincaid; and great-granddaughter, Katie Breanna Laumann.

She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Loel) Laumann, Cheryl Kincaid, Cindy (Earon) Lawson; grandchildren, Darrel, Dan, Tony, Matt, Laura, Felicia, James and Joey; great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Jackson, Charlie, Jocelynn, Avery, George, Molly, Brynna, Oliver, Harry, Jack, Betty, Hudson, Saylor, and Frank; and many other family and friends.&nbsp; Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.&nbsp;

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 16, at Brookville United Methodist Church, burial will follow at Brookville City Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, November 15 at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp;

Anita Louise Phelps (Marez), 78, of Brookville, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born October 22,1946 to Louis and Charolotte (LaBarr) Marez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alan Phelps, brothers, James and Alan Marez, and her son, Tarry Joe Fluke.

Ilene and her husband, John, ran a typewriter sales and repair shop in Ann Arbor, MI, and later she worked many years at Target in Garden City, MI, before retiring. In her free time Ilene loved to crochet, do puzzles and arts and crafts, and watch her gameshows.

Survivors include her daughters, Kellie Funk (Scott), of Larned, KS, Shanda Betzold (Dusty Stuart), of Salina, and Nicole Rundle (Shawn), of Parrish, FL; grandchildren, Skyler and Austin Coffey, Shayla Hernandez (Robert), Brandyn Betzold, and Charity, Jordan, Ethan, and Jamie Rundle; great-grandson, Oliver Hernandez; and sister, Patsy Castor (Doug), of Glendale, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Alice (Crawford) Vaughn, and husband, John Pruett.

Kelly Clyde Wild, of Smolan, KS passed away on October 29,2024, at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS, at the age of 76.&nbsp; He was born on August 24, 1948, to Clarence and Leore (Walker) Wild in Emporia, KS.

Kelly is preceded in death by his significant other, Selena Rogers, his parents Clarence and Leore Wild, and his sister Jo Ann Wild.

He is survived by Selena's daughters that he cared for as his own Kiley Havlas (Scott) of Minneapolis, KS, Heidi Rogers of Salina, KS, Jamie White of Stockton, KS, and four grandkids Jacob Rogers, Jason and James Berens, and Ella Starr Snyder.

Kelly, known to many as Wildman, lived a long life filled with many adventures.&nbsp; He will be greatly missed but will live on through memories of family and good friends.

A private family viewing was held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.&nbsp; There will be a Celebration of Life planned for a future date.

Kelly Clyde Wild

Marilyn Jean (Ewy) Sauber, 92, passed away in Salina, KS on Nov. 2nd, 2024. Born Oct. 11th, 1932 in Hanston, KS she was the daughter of Otto and Vivian Thelma (Salmans) Ewy.&nbsp;Marilyn graduated from Ellinwood HS in 1950 and later Grace Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She married James Sauber&nbsp;at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood on July 16, 1953.&nbsp;In addition to raising children&nbsp;Marilyn was an accomplished seamstress, cook,&nbsp;andcanner/gardener.&nbsp;Marilyn was a bus dispatcher for the Commission&nbsp;on&nbsp;Aging&nbsp;in Ellinwood&nbsp;for 27 years. She also worked&nbsp;as an RN for Ellinwood District Hospital&nbsp;before retiring in 1992.Memberships include St. Joseph Catholic Churchand&nbsp;Altar Society,&nbsp;Ellinwood Hospital&nbsp;Auxiliary,and Twilight Stichers.&nbsp;Marilyn loved quilting and collecting antiques.&nbsp;

Born Oct. 11th, 1932 in Hanston, KS she was the daughter of Otto and Vivian Thelma (Salmans) Ewy.&nbsp;Marilyn graduated from Ellinwood HS in 1950 and later Grace Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She married James Sauber&nbsp;at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood on July 16, 1953.&nbsp;In addition to raising children&nbsp;Marilyn was an accomplished seamstress, cook,&nbsp;andcanner/gardener.&nbsp;Marilyn was a bus dispatcher for the Commission&nbsp;on&nbsp;Aging&nbsp;in Ellinwood&nbsp;for 27 years. Garold “Wayne” Vignery Sr., 95, passed away peacefully in his house on October 24th, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Wayne, as he is affectionately known, was united in marriage to his beloved Clara Krone in Minneapolis on May 20th, 1961. Like his artwork, together, they created a lifetime of memories filled with laughter and joy, sharing countless moments with family and friends. Wayne had a deep passion for the outdoors, and he especially treasured the times spent hunting and fishing with his sons and friends, and camping at local lakes.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. After returning from his military service, he dedicated himself to his work at Super Sweet in Salina, KS. He took on various roles as a lumberjack and at grain elevators across the Midwest, showing his strong work ethic and determination. He was sadly preceded in death by his grandson, Derek Edgerton.

Wayne’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through his devoted wife, Clara of Bennington, KS, his daughters Cindy Coleman of Kennewick, Washington and Debby Edgerton of Salina, KS, and his sons, Melvin Vignery of John Day, Oregon, Garold Wayne Vignery Jr. (Jennifer) of Bennington, Kansas, and Allen Vignery (Denise) of Bennington, Kansas. Garold “Wayne” Vignery Sr.

Mary Josephine Anne Teepen passed away peacefully&nbsp;in Salina, KS on November 1, 2024, at the age of 82.

Mary was born in Kansas City, Mo., October 2, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Eulalia (nee Sullivan) Teepen, brother, Albert P. Teepen, and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Herron-Teepen, nephew, James Patrick Teepen, a great nephew, Alexander Teepen, several cousins, Charles Clavin, Mary Ann English,&nbsp;Susan Riley, Carol Beason, Sally Crane&nbsp;and many dear friends, especially Shelly and Brian Gaskill of Salina.

Ms. Teepen attended Holy Trinity Elementary school, East High School, Kansas City/ Penn Valley Community College, before graduating from the University of Kansas City / University of Missouri, in 1966 with a bachelor’s in business administration (Personnel and Accounting) degree.

After graduating from college, she moved to St. Louis to begin an Inventory Management Specialist career. She served several years&nbsp;as a&nbsp;union steward and recording secretary of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE), Local 405 in St. Louis, and worked part time as a Spiegel order- clerk / cashier and in the business office of a hospital as a cashier, insurance billing clerk, and performed other clerical and bookkeeping tasks. She was chosen to attend a yearlong Management Intern Training Program in Rock Island, IL, graduating second of twenty- four graduates. During her federal employment, Mary moved frequently for promotions and lived in Joliet, Il., Davenport / Bettendorf, IA., Warren, MI., and several times traveled for training to Petersburg, VA.

In 1974, Mary was selected as one of three people to assist the U.S Coast Guard (Department of Transportation) in establishing a Ships’ Inventory Control Point Center at Curtis Bat, MD., while living in Glen Burnie, MD. She retired after 12 ½ years and returned to Kansas City, Mo., to provide in home care to her parents and an aunt and uncle.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Following the deaths of her parents, she moved to Roeland Park, KS and became employed by the Community Service Center Inc., in Kansas City, Ks, under the Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City, KS. In this position Mary wore many hats: childcare food program coordinator for two large daycare centers, executive director’s administrative assistant and personnel and benefits coordinator, donations and Christmas gift coordinator, secretary for GED family counseling / teen parents and childcare programs and as a secretary for the special children’s center auxiliary program.

Mary then moved to Salina, KS in 1989 for a vocational education&nbsp;and attended Salina Vo-Tech, where she earned certificates in computer applications and programs. Mary then worked temporary jobs while attending Kansas Wesleyan University, where she studied to become a special education elementary teacher, but due to medical issues, did not graduate.

Her latest position was through the SER/ SCEP and Experience Works federal / state programs where she was employed part time by the Older Kansans Employment Program (OKEP) under the North Central Flint Hills Area Agency on Ageing as a Career development assistant and briefly for Experience Works, as a field operations assistant, both programs physically located at the Salina Senior Center. She once again retired in 1995 and devoted her time to pursuing other interests.

Mary volunteered for many years as a certified CCD teacher, 2nd&nbsp;grade to junior high students, through various Catholic parishes as she moved and served on the Parish council in Maryland. She was an active member of the Greater Kansas City’s Altrusa Club, performing many community related activities. She volunteered though Salina’s RSVP / Volunteer Connection /Foster Grandparent (one on one school-based reading program) and enjoyed reading to children at the Martin Luther King Jr Child development center.&nbsp; Other interests include genealogy, reading, solving puzzles of all varieties, attending the arts, theater, festivals, rodeos, volunteering, and teaching.&nbsp; Mary always strived to keep learning, to stay active, and be optimistic.

Funeral services for Mary will be held at 10 a.m., Friday November 15, at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N. Ninth St, Salina, KS., with a rosary taking place before the service.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Kansas City, Mo, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

Geraldine was born on May 13, 1934 in Delphos, KS to parents Alvin L. and Willa Marcy Bellows.

Geraldine retired as a Home Healthcare Nurse.

Geraldine was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed going out to eat, traveling, shopping, dancing, camping and her jewelry. She was always the best dressed and loved to get her hair done at PinUps Hair Salon. She loved her family and friends and was very, loving, kind and giving.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Husband: Hobart Gagna; Brothers: Ronald Bellows and Edward Bellows.

He was currently employed at Little Apple Lanes.

He is survived by his daughter Haley Linke of Colorado Springs, Colorado, his parents Gena and Rudy Munoz, a brother Rudy, a sister Sadie (Bryan) and two nephews, Robert Snider and Kyson Vereen, his grandmother Lois Arnold, Uncle Phil Matous (Kim) and Aunt Jana Roth.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Charles Matous, Great-Grandmother Wilma Pistole, and Great-Grandfather Lewis Pistole.

Patricia Lee "Cho Cho" Crenshaw, 84, of Fairburn, Georgia, passed away Thursday, October 31st, at Salina Regional Health Center, in Salina, Kansas.

Patricia was born in Herington, Kansas on September 13, 1940, to Juanita (Morris) and Charles Brown.After graduating from Herington High School, she had a career as a respiratory therapist.

In 1984, Patricia married Maurice Crenshaw in Tuskegee, Alabama. They spent many happy years together before his passing in 2017. Patricia was a devout Christian with a passion for teaching and helping anybody she met with the Word of God. There was never a person she met that she didn't think she could love

Lynn Ann Anderson (Schmedemann), born on December 14, 1948, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Good Shepherd Homecare &amp; Hospice in Manhattan. Her life was defined by a strong Christian faith and a deep love for her family, friends, and neighbors. It is difficult to capture all the wonderful things she accomplished in her time here on earth, but her legacy will continue to touch many lives.

Lynn grew up in rural Dwight, KS and was a graduate of Dwight High School. She married John Heublein and together the two of them raised what Lynn called her greatest blessing from the union - a daughter, Dawn, and a son, David. In 1995, John and Lynn divorced.&nbsp;

Lynn earned her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from Stormont Vail School of Nursing in 1968 and later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Marymount College in Salina in 1989. Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to caring for others, working most of her professional career in the Salina area as a nurse at the Salina-Saline County Health Department and USD 305 as a school nurse. After a long career of service, she retired as a school nurse from USD 475. Her kindness and compassion made a lasting impact on her colleagues, students, and the many lives she touched.

Around 1997, Lynn met her soulmate, Ronald Anderson, when she asked him to start a colt for her. Thus began the greatest of love stories, and in 2000, Lynn and Ron were married in the mountains of Colorado on horseback - and muleback! For many years they would travel the countryside going on different trail rides and riding clinics, riding whenever they could. Together, they retired from their professions to begin a new one together: running the ranch that had been in her family for decades, working cattle, driving them on horseback, and sharing the daily responsibilities of tending to livestock. This partnership was a true testament to their love and dedication to each other.&nbsp;

Lynn is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Elizabeth Schmedemann; her son, David Heublein; and her son-in-law, Steven Rohrer. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Anderson of the home; Dawn Rohrer of Salina, sister, Gail (Dale) Williamson, grandsons Cooper and Soren, Step-son Jack (Sara), niece Amy (Scott) and their daughters, Mackenzie, Elizabeth, and Alexandra, of Stuttgart, Germany; her daughter-of-her-heart, Ruth Ann Zimmer of Hays, and her sisters-in-law Carolyn, Sharon, and Linda, of Oklahoma, and many cousins. Lynn leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and understanding. She lived her life by the commandment to "love thy neighbor" and exemplified kindness and generosity in all she did.&nbsp;

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. There will be a Celebration of Life next spring, her favorite season, as Lynn wants family and friends to remember the good times and not the sad ones. She also requested that in lieu of a memorial to simply do something kind for someone else.

Frances Laurel Lewis aged 100 passed peacefully on October 23, 2024 at Royal Oaks Lifecare Community in Sun City, AZ. She was born April 25, 1924 in the Rosedale District of Kansas City, KS to A. J. and Frances Honeyfield. Frances was Salutatorian of her 1942 graduating class at Collins High School in Collins, MO.

Frances and George were married on April 7, 1945, in Santa Maria, CA. After a few years in Kansas City, they moved to Salina, KS in 1948. They had 2 children, Sharon and Dean. Frances was a homemaker as well as a bookkeeper and scheduler for George's floor-covering business for 30 years in Salina. Semi-retirement found them in Pine River and Longville, MN operating The Quiet Place Retreat. After tiring of the cold snowy winters of northern Minnesota for nearly 20 years, they settled for retirement in Sun City West, AZ in 1997.

Frances was a devout Christian and it showed thru her loving and caring spirit. Her wisdom and generosity will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace embraced by the love of her family and the grace of her savior.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, husband George Lewis, daughter Sharon Moyer, and her 6 siblings. She is survived by her son Dean (Debra) Lewis of Salina, KS, 5 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A special big thank you to family friend Jim Schriber, for his continuous companionship and caring for Frances since George's passing 10 years ago. He is a true blessing from God.

A Living Celebration of Life was held in 2017 for Frances and her sister Mahala.

Marilyn I. Zimmerman passed away in Salina on October 28, 2024. She was 85 years old.

Marilyn was born on January 22, 1939, in Rooks County, Kansas to Raymond and Dorilda LaBarge.&nbsp; She moved to and attended beauty school in Salina, Kansas after graduating High School where she met John Zimmerman of Jewell, Kansas.&nbsp; They were married in 1959 and moved to Topeka, Kansas where John, who was in the Air Force, was stationed at Forbes Air Force base.&nbsp;&nbsp; John and Marilyn had three children while living in Topeka, and John later took a job at a steel plant in South Bend, Indiana, so the family moved to nearby Mishawaka, Indiana in 1968.

John and Marilyn, along with their children moved to Jewell, Kansas in the Summer of 1973, where they proceeded to farm with John's father, Frank Zimmerman of Beloit, Kansas.&nbsp;

Marilyn had a passion for gardening, and made many friends, and was active in the community and her church.&nbsp; She furthered her education to become a registered nurse, and was employed at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.

John and Marilyn moved to Salina, Kansas in 1989 where she worked as an RN at Asbury/Salina Regional Hospital until she retired in 2004.

Survivors include, sons Greg Zimmerman (wife Kathy), and Jeff Zimmerman (wife Paula), daughter Lori Hiller (husband Robert), grandchildren: Courtney Gentry, Jacob Zimmerman and other family members.

A graveside service for both John (who passed in April of this year), and Marilyn has been scheduled for Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m., at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Salina, Kansas.

Cheri (Harkness Parks) Santiago, residing in Salina, KS, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was born in Shreveport, LA on June 17, 1944, to Myron and Marcile Harkness. She married Richard Parks in 1962, and they later divorced.&nbsp; There were three children born of that marriage, Stephanie (Shawn) Compton, Kearsten (Mike) Koerner, and Samantha (Dave) Angell.&nbsp; She co-owned several businesses during her time in Hays, KS, including The Coachman’s Inn, Arlo’s Landing, and Wood Concepts. &nbsp;

She later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she met and married Ric Santiago on March 30, 1994.&nbsp; She spent the next several years designing for Custom Cupboards. She returned to Kansas in 2010.

Cheri is survived by her loving husband Ric Santiago; three daughters; grandchildren: Raegan (Josh) Compton, Haelie (Palmer) Boykin, Spencer Angell, Cristina Koerner, Jackson Angell, and Wyatt Angell; and her bonus children: Annette (Steve) Kitts, Jessica Santiago, and David (Alex) Santiago.&nbsp; She also had friends, family and extended family whom she loved and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Harkness; and parents, Myron and Marcile Harkness.

The Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Ln., Salina, KS.

Gary Lee ‘Pete’ Marshall, Jr.

Michael Raye Scheuerman, age 75, former Hays, Kansas resident passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Nursing Home in Amarillo, Texas.

He was born June 26, 1949, in LaCrosse, Kansas to Alvin and Clarinetta E. (Scheuerman) Scheuerman.&nbsp; He married Deborah (Roach) on January 31, 2016.

Michael grew up on a farm outside of Bison, Kansas.&nbsp; He attended Otis Grade School and was a 1967 graduate of Otis High School.&nbsp; After graduation he enlisted in the U S Marine Corps and did his basic training in San Diego and his advanced infantry at Camp Pendleton.&nbsp; He served three years in active duty and served three years in reserves.&nbsp; One of his tour of duty he spent 12 months in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. &nbsp;&nbsp;

After his time in the military he worked for the Hermann’s then attended Salina Area Technical College getting his degree in Diesel Mechanic.&nbsp; Following his training he opened Mike’s Repair in Otis, and later worked for Tupper’s Custom Harvesters, George’s Repair, and I-70 Trucking where he retired from. &nbsp;

Michael lived in Hays for many years and moved to Amarillo in 2016.&nbsp; While in Hays he was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, a Lifetime member of the Hays V.F.W Post #9076, and Edwin A. Schumacher Marine Corps League.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and golfing.

Michael is survived by his wife, Deboarh, of the home; his children, Marci; Micah; and Marc, Scheuerman; and his two grandsons, all of Kansas City; his brothers, Dennis Scheuerman and wife, VirJean, Smithville, MO; Paul Scheuerman and wife, Doreen, Angola, KS; his nephew, Tate Scheuerman; his nieces, Treva DeLeon, and Anna Scheuerman.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 1, 2024, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays with Reverend Kenton Rohrberg Officiating.&nbsp; A burial will be at 2:00 P.M.  </figure>Michael Raye Scheuerman, age 75, former Hays, Kansas resident passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Ussery-Roan Texas State Veterans Nursing Home in Amarillo, Texas.He was born June 26, 1949, in LaCrosse, Kansas to Alvin and Clarinetta E. (Scheuerman) Scheuerman.&nbsp; He married Deborah (Roach) on January 31, 2016.Michael grew up on a farm outside of Bison, Kansas.&nbsp; He attended Otis Grade School and was a 1967 graduate of Otis High School.&nbsp; After graduation he enlisted in the U S Marine Corps and did his basic training in San Diego and his advanced infantry at Camp Pendleton.&nbsp; He served three years in active duty and served three years in reserves.&nbsp; One of his tour of duty he spent 12 months in Vietnam where he received a Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. &nbsp;&nbsp;After his time in the military he worked for the Hermann’s then attended Salina Area Technical College getting his degree in Diesel Mechanic.&nbsp; Following his training he opened Mike’s Repair in Otis, and later worked for Tupper’s Custom Harvesters, George’s Repair, and I-70 Trucking where he retired from. &nbsp;Michael lived in Hays for many years and moved to Amarillo in 2016.&nbsp; While in Hays he was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, a Lifetime member of the Hays V.F.W Post #9076, and Edwin A. Schumacher Marine Corps League.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, cooking, playing cards and golfing.Michael is survived by his wife, Deboarh, of the home; his children, Marci; Micah; and Marc, Scheuerman; and his two grandsons, all of Kansas City; his brothers, Dennis Scheuerman and wife, VirJean, Smithville, MO; Paul Scheuerman and wife, Doreen, Angola, KS; his nephew, Tate Scheuerman; his nieces, Treva DeLeon, and Anna Scheuerman.Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Michiel Scott Unrein, 56, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 27th.

Michiel was born in Concordia, Kansas on June 28, 1968, to Barbara Fink and Alvin Unrein.

After graduating from high school, he served in the United States Army as a Sergeant for over 20 years. After the military, he was a truck driver for numerous companies.

In his free time, you could find him at the gun range or riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his father, Alvin Unrein (Judy); son, Devin Unrein (Kierstan); and four siblings.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Fink; and grandparents.

Cremation has been chosen and services will be announced later.

The family requests donations to Quivera Gun Club, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.

Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Lane, 89, of Baldwin City, KS, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2024, with her family by her side.

A visitation and funeral mass will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Annunciation Catholic Church, 740 North 6th Street, Baldwin City, KS. The family will greet friends for a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church parish hall. A rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Kathy was born August 1, 1934, to Fred and Mildred Renner in Cunningham, Kansas. She grew up on a small farm and attended elementary school in St. Leo and Willowdale, Kansas, and later junior high and high school in Kingman, Kansas, where she graduated in 1952.

Pursuing her dream to become a nurse, Kathy attended nursing school in Great Bend, KS, where she excelled, serving as class president for three years and graduating with honors in 1955. After graduation, she worked as a nurse at Saint Rose Hospital in Great Bend. When her parents relocated to Leoti, Kansas, Kathy followed, taking a job at the hospital in Leoti in 1956 to be closer to them.

Kathy met Ross Lane, whom she married on October 19, 1957, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, KS. Together, they raised four sons and celebrated 65 years of marriage until Ross’s passing on August 29, 2023.

Kathy served as the school nurse for the Leoti School District starting in 1965 and continued until 1976 when the family moved to Baldwin City, KS. As a school nurse, Kathy founded the Migrant Care Program to assist those most in need in Wichita County.

After moving to Baldwin City in 1976, Kathy worked at the hospital in Ottawa, KS, until joining Baker University as the school nurse in 1977—a role she cherished. Tragically, a car accident in 1978 left Kathy legally blind, forcing her to retire. Despite this, she pursued further education, eventually earning a psychology degree alongside her youngest son, Grant, in 1987.

Kathy was a dedicated member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Baldwin City, serving on multiple committees over the years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Maple Leaf Festival booth and supporting her fellow parishioners in any way she could.

Kathy is survived by her four sons: Mike Lane; Russ (Annette) Lane and grandchildren Tyler (Jami) Lane, with great-grandson Carter and great-granddaughters Hannah and Lauren; Jessica (Ross) Knutson, with great-granddaughter Sloan and great-grandsons Cohen and Landon; Samantha (Bo) Tiller, with great-granddaughter Rosalie; Abigail (Tanner) Hughes, with great-granddaughter June and great-grandson Trent; Rob (Nancy) Lane, and granddaughters Jordan (Blaise, fiancé) and Teresa; Grant (Lori) Lane and grandsons Jaylen, Jaron, and Joseph; and granddaughter Jocelyn (Tom) Mailloux, with great-grandson Leo. Kathy is also survived by four sisters-in-law—Pat Renner, Judy Renner, Dorothy Renner, and Nevada Parker—and an ex-daughter-in-law, Denise Lane.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Mildred Renner; siblings Robert (Pat) Renner, Peggy (Lawrence) Goetz, Marilyn (Keith) Appl, Father Ronald Renner, Ken (Judy) Renner, Judy (James) Biel, Jim (Dorothy) Renner, Dinah Rae Renner; and granddaughter Kimber Rose Lane, who passed on January 10, 2021.

The Lane family would like to extend their gratitude to the many nurses and caregivers who supported Kathy in her final years, including those from Vintage Park in Baldwin, Rock Creek in Ottawa, Advent Health Hospital in Ottawa, and hospice care at Villa Saint Francis in Olathe, KS.
