
Bruce Charles Waddle, age 62, of Gypsum, passed away suddenly at his home on May 24, 2025.
Bruce was born March 23, 1963 in Salina, KS, to Charles and Elaine Waddle. He was raised in Kipp, KS and was a 1981 graduate of Southeast of Saline High School, remaining very close with his classmates throughout his life. He married his wife of 42 years, Tammy Waddle, in 1982, and they settled in Gypsum, KS where they raised their son.
Bruce’s parents began Waddle’s Heating and Cooling in 1973 when he was 10 years old. He grew up helping in the shop and learning from his father. Eventually, Bruce took over the family business and was the owner until his passing. He was a jack of all trades and took great pride in his work.
Bruce was a very kind and generous man who was always thinking of others. He was a member of several groups within the community. He was also a devoted volunteer fire fighter with Saline County Rural Fire District #1. He volunteered with them for over 42 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed going to auctions, hunting, working on his fire truck, and spending time with his grandchildren, Olivia and Keith. He enjoyed taking them fishing and to the races. They were the light of his life, and he loved them very much.
Bruce was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his grandparents, Arnold and Theresa Swanson and Clifford and Margaret Waddle.
Bruce is survived by his parents Charles and Elaine; his wife Tammy; his son and daughter-in-law Wade and Tiffany; his brother Brad (Liz); his sister Christine (Robbie); and grandchildren Olivia and Keith.
Visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 4:00 -8:00 pm. with family present from 5:00 -7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church 302 S. 7th St, Salina. Burial will follow at Poheta Cemetery. A meal will be served at Saline County Rural Fire District #1 fire station in Kipp, KS following the burial. Please dress casual.
