Terry Gene (Butch) McCoy passed away at his home May 20, 2025. He was born in Osborne Ks, on May 30th, 1947, to Walter and Beulah (Saylor) McCoy. He grew up on the farm east of Portis. Attended Portis schools graduating in 1965. Butch enjoyed a life on the river riding his horse, helping his dad on the farm. He enjoyed his friends through school playing basketball and enjoying all youthful activities.
On August 19, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Cheril Hofer. The two built a life together. To this union 5 children were born. Julie, Janel, Jared (Karri), Jace (Mandy), Jaylon (Danielle). He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard, and niece Roxanne. He is survived by his wife, Cheril of the home, His sister, Lois, his 5 children, and 6 grandchildren.
