Rosalee Mary Steimel, 61, of Salina, Kansas, died July 25, 2022.&nbsp; Rose was born on May 26, 1961, in Ellinwood, Kansas.&nbsp; She was the youngest child of Herman and Waneta Steimel, granddaughter of Martin and Adela Vogel and Adolph and Anna Steimel.

As the youngest of six children, Rose was close to her siblings, nieces, and nephews her entire life.&nbsp; 

She graduated from Claflin High School in 1979 and Barton County Community College with a full tennis scholarship.&nbsp; She earned a B.S. in Business and Data Processing Magna Cum Laude in 1982 as well as a M.B.A. in 1983 from Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; In 1991, Rose completed her Ph.D.&nbsp; from Kansas State University in curriculum and instruction within computer science.

Rose was a college professor in computer studies and taught at Fort Hays State University, Marymount College, Benedictine College in Salina, and Kansas Wesleyan University.&nbsp; Throughout the years, she was promoted to professor of computer studies and assistant M.B.A. director.&nbsp; Rose served as chairperson of the Department of Computer Science, chairperson of the Division of Natural Sciences, and served on many faculty and university committees. Rose retired from KWU in 2020 and was named Professor Emeritus in computer studies.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;

Surviving family include her sister Carol Ahlvers, with her children Leslie (Andrew) Amick, and Nolan (Lindsay) Ahlvers. She is survived by her brother Lyle (Barbara) Steimel, and their children, Jessica Steimel, Adam (Kat) Steimel, Kimberly Steimel, and Dan (Liz) Steimel. She is survived by her sister Sharon Steimel and husband Steve Thomas with their children Kelly (Dave) Lohrmeyer, Eric (Erica) Thomas, and Drew Thomas and wife Mallory Krahn. Her deceased brothers’ children are Della Strait, Pam (Scott) Wiederholt, Deb Steimel (Joe) Clair, Charles (Sarah) Steimel; and Carrie Steimel.&nbsp; She is survived by sister-in-law Lorene Steimel.&nbsp;&nbsp; Also, Rose had 29 great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Steimel, sister-in-law Maridell, brother Glenn Steimel, and brother-in-law David Ahlvers. &nbsp;

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina, KS.&nbsp; A vigil will be held at 9:30 a.m. for a rosary and reflection.&nbsp; Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Salina.

Memorials may be donated in Rose’s name at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 1000 Burr Oak Lane, Salina, 67401 and the Congregation of St. Joseph in Concordia, P.O. Box 279, Concordia, KS 66901.&nbsp;

October 13, 1952 ~ July 22, 2022 (age 69)

Michael J. Schmiedeler, 69, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22nd after a short illness. He was surrounded by his two children and his beloved wife of 45 years.

Michael was born on October 13, 1952 in Beloit, Kansas. He was the fifth of five children of Francis E. and Lucille A. (Pahls) Schmiedeler. 

As a child, Mike enjoyed working in his parent’s grocery store in Tipton, Kansas, which was known for their homemade sausage. He carried on the tradition over the years and was known for gifting Der Schmied’s Wurst around Christmas time.

Mike graduated from Marymount College with a bachelor of science in biology and chemistry in 1975. He then continued his education at St Mary’s Hospital where he completed his medical technology training in 1976. He spent most of his career working in the lab at Salina Regional Health Center, eventually becoming the chemistry department supervisor. He retired in 2018.

Mike married Marilyn K. Swenson on December 18, 1976 at First Baptist Church in Salina, Kansas. Their son, Charles Richard was born on May 23, 1977. Their daughter, Regan Ann was born to the Lord on November 23, 1981. Their second daughter, Mykel Kay was born October 9, 1987. 

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved travelling, with Hawaii being his favorite destination, enjoyed cooking/baking and loved his golden retrievers. Mike was also a history enthusiast, especially when it came to World War II and was a KU fan through and through.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Regan, a brother, James Schmiedeler, sister Jeanne Crawford, and his godmother Dorothy Schmiedeler. 

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Charles Schmiedeler (Travis), daughter Mykel Purkapile (Matt), his three grandchildren Rylan Michael Purkapile, Drew Steven Purkapile, and Peyton Kay Purkapile, brother John Schmiedeler (Zoe), brother Thomas Schmiedeler (Barb) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30th at Ryan Mortuary at 10:00 a.m., followed by a gravesite committal at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. The family will host a reception at First Baptist Church following the services.

He married Janny Vance (Dauber) on July 28, 1989.&nbsp; He was also blessed to have two wonderful children and thee grandchildren, whom he loved deeply. &nbsp;

He is survived by his wife: Janny, daughter: Shannon Vance of Salina KS, son: Darin Vance (Janice Nipper Vance) of Minneapolis, KS, brother: Larry Vance and grandchildren: Balie Stamps of Salina KS, Brody Vance, and Shelby Vance of Minneapolis KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Vance.&nbsp; &nbsp;

He requested to be cremated and to have no funeral.&nbsp; Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at All Saints Cemetery, Salina with Fr. Fred Gatschet as celebrant.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durham, Kansas. She loved the joy of family and her grandkids, with the most recent addition of her great-grandchild. She was a devoted daughter, sister and mother. She had a passion for reading and crocheting. Beverly is preceded in death by her father Oliver Unruh and brother Sidney Unruh.

She is survived by her mother Frances (Frick) Unruh, her two sons and daughter Tony &amp; Lynette Mull, Jamie and Traci Mull, Paul and Chrystal (Mull) Ainsworth, six grandchildren, Christopher and Andrea Mull, Cole Mull, Marcus Mull, Nicholas Ainsworth, Austin Ainsworth, Alec Ainsworth and one great-grandchild, Jameson Mull, Sarah Unruh (niece) and Brandon Unruh (nephew). Allen Edward Boyer, 84, of Loveland, CO, passed away in the presence of his family on July 21, 2022. Allen was born on July 8, 1938, to Charles and Winona Boyer in Danbury, NE. 

After graduating from Solomon High School in 1956 he spent his summer custom cutting wheat and then joined the Army where he became a paratrooper for the 101st Airborne. After three years in the service, he was honorably discharged. 

In 1965 Allen married his wife of 57 years, Vada Koehn. They raised two children, Tameria Janae (Boyer) Dishman and David Austin Boyer. 

Allen spent 17 years as a brick and stone mason and then worked for Johns Manville where he retired after 20 years. 

Allen loved spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing, camping, boating and playing cards. It was an annual event to meet his brothers and nephews on opening day of pheasant season and spend the day together. 

In addition to family he was especially close to his friends Charlie Johnson, Loren Boughman and Steve Marquez.

After retiring in 2004, Allen and Vada moved to Loveland, Colorado where he continued with his favorite pass times, as well as watching Tommy and Braiden participate in sports. Allen and Vada were blessed with making new friends in Colorado and enjoyed spending time with them as well. 

Allen was a dedicated and loving husband, dad and grandad. 

He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Winona (Ruby) Boyer, son David Austin Boyer, siblings Lois Zapp, Ardis Boyer, Enid Zapp, Richard (Dick) Boyer, Charlene Duck, and Ron Boyer.

Allen was born on July 8, 1938, to Charles and Winona Boyer in Danbury, NE. After graduating from Solomon High School in 1956 he spent his summer custom cutting wheat and then joined the Army where he became a paratrooper for the 101st Airborne. After three years in the service, he was honorably discharged. In 1965 Allen married his wife of 57 years, Vada Koehn. They raised two children, Tameria Janae (Boyer) Dishman and David Austin Boyer. Allen spent 17 years as a brick and stone mason and then worked for Johns Manville where he retired after 20 years. Allen loved spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing, camping, boating and playing cards. It was an annual event to meet his brothers and nephews on opening day of pheasant season and spend the day together. In addition to family he was especially close to his friends Charlie Johnson, Loren Boughman and Steve Marquez. After retiring in 2004, Allen and Vada moved to Loveland, Colorado where he continued with his favorite pass times, as well as watching Tommy and Braiden participate in sports. Allen and Vada were blessed with making new friends in Colorado and enjoyed spending time with them as well. Allen was a dedicated and loving husband, dad and grandad. He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Winona (Ruby) Boyer, son David Austin Boyer, siblings Lois Zapp, Ardis Boyer, Enid Zapp, Richard (Dick) Boyer, Charlene Duck, and Ron Boyer. Bryant was united in marriage to Susan Holt on October 15, 1965, and this union was blessed with two sons, Todd and Tyson.&nbsp; On July 19, 1975, he married Jennifer Zuellner, and this union was blessed with three children, Selena, Kim, and Geoff.

Survivors include four children, Todd Andrews (Kristy) of Las Vegas, NV, Selena Andrews (Ed Webb) of McPherson, KS, Kim Seib (Cody) of Hays, KS, and Geoff Andrews (Valerie) of Salina, KS; brothers Stephen Andrews (Ann) of Montevideo, MN, Bradley Andrews of Waverly, NE, and Scott Andrews of Waverly, NE; aunt Delores Eades of Wichita, KS; and seven grandchildren, Andrew Costello, Jonah Clarke, Elijah Clarke, Reid Andrews, Sutton Seib, Holdyn Seib, and Hudson Seib.

Janet Lynne Reedy Droge, 63, died peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her home in Topeka, Kansas, attended by loved ones.&nbsp; She died of complications of metastatic ovarian cancer.

She was born January 27, 1959 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Leonard and Judy (Mahon) Reedy, the oldest of six children and the only daughter.&nbsp; She attended first grade at the Hollis, Kansas country school, followed by Our Lady of Perpetual Help parochial school until the 6th&nbsp;grade. She was a member of the Hollis Hustlers 4-H club for ten years.&nbsp; She enjoyed piano lessons at the Nazareth Motherhouse.&nbsp; She was involved in drama club, French club, and took a semester of woodworking her senior year of high school.

She graduated from Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas, as the salutatorian, in January of 1977, and attended Kansas State University for the next year. She participated in the KSU Summer Study Abroad Program and went to France for the summer of 1977.

She married David H. Droge at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, on April 21, 1978.&nbsp; The couple made their first home in Blue Rapids, Kansas, where two sons, Brian and Jacob, were born.&nbsp; Together David and Janet founded the manufacturing company TravAlong Inc, of Waterville, KS. They retired after the sale of the business in 1991, and lived in Manhattan, Kansas, where she enjoyed studying and applying apparel design and interior design. The couple later divorced on January 2, 2002.

Janet went on to develop a new career post-divorce.&nbsp; She first went to Hutchinson Community College for the building trades vocational program.&nbsp; She returned to Topeka, and enrolled at Washburn University where she completed two bachelor’s degrees, accounting and social work, summa cum laude, in 2006.&nbsp; She completed her master’s degree in social work at the University of Kansas in May of 2008.&nbsp; 

She practiced as an LSCSW psychotherapist in a variety of settings, including Valeo Behavioral Healthcare of Topeka, the TBI clinic at Ft. Riley, Pawnee Mental Health in Concordia, Belleville, and Beloit, the women’s prison in Topeka, Stormont Vail Healthcare, Topeka, KS, and as a crisis responder on the Veteran’s Administration hotline. She specialized in the treatment of PTSD.

From June 2018 until mid-2021 Janet enjoyed an early retirement to pursue her lifelong dream of renovating an old house. Those who knew her well were amused by her addiction to DIY YouTube videos. She derived enormous happiness and satisfaction from being able to do such things as roofing, window replacement, plumbing, refinishing floors, and building a new kitchen from the walls out.

She is survived by her partner (Mr.) Terry Kramer, Goff, KS; two sons, Brian James Droge, El Dorado, KS; Jacob Daniel Droge, Topeka, KS; her mother Judy Reedy, Concordia, KS;&nbsp;&nbsp;five brothers, James (Connie) Reedy, Concordia, KS; Dennis (Donna) Reedy, Concordia, KS; Steve Reedy, Plano, TX,&nbsp; Robert Reedy, Wichita, KS;&nbsp;&nbsp;Joseph (Karen) Reedy, Concordia, KS;&nbsp; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gregory “Greg” John Wiesner, age 63, of Concordia, KS, died peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2022 surrounded by loving family at his home in Concordia.&nbsp;

He was born on April 26, 1959 in Hays, KS to Marvin Rudolph &amp; Josephine Martina (Pfeifer) Wiesner. He met his high school sweetheart, Kim, at the Drive-In shortly before graduating from Concordia High School in 1977.

He married Kimberely “Kim” Briggs on April 28, 1979 and built a life they loved. They had fun living the young married life before welcoming Danielle JoAnn in 1985 and David John in 1990. Greg and Kim were always willing to jump in and lend a hand where there was a need, whether it be their kids, family, friends, or even random strangers. Their marriage and parenting epitomized having a Servant’s Heart. They were a team and best friends until the end. Greg lived by God’s Golden Rule and was known for saying simply, “It’s what we do.”

An avid craftsman, Greg, along with his father and brothers, created Wiesner Brothers in 1977.&nbsp; He then owned and operated Greg Wiesner Construction for over 40 years. He loved hiring kids throughout the area for summer jobs and made a huge impact on many young lives. Their motto was “We Build Value” and Greg prided himself on his dedication to building quality around the community.

Greg loved to spend time with his family and friends at their trailer at Lovewell Lake and at his shop for ‘Thursday Shop Night’. Greg enjoyed working on and rebuilding cars with his friends. He loved going to swap meets with the boys to find old car parts and they even built a one-of-a-kind rat rod. He enjoyed regular trips to go skiing in Colorado and was a long time member of the Skiyota Ski Club.&nbsp; He also loved family time with his kids but was most proud to be a papa to his grandchildren! From swimming with Lizzy, having fun at the lake with Charlotte, sharing special rocks with Asher, to singing songs to baby Kate, he adored spending time with them.

Greg was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in 2017 and courageously battled “lewy” taking over his mind and body. With his wife by his side, he was able to continue to provide value in his community by cleaning up the downtown and using his favorite Milwaukee blower. He was known in later years for his sweet baby songs and his quality dishwashing abilities. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his ear wiggling and ornery smile.

His conviction, paired with kindness, is a quality greatly needed in this world. The impact Greg made in lives will continue to ripple through the water for generations to come.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Cloud County Ducks Unlimited, Jaycees, Optimist Club, Concordia Country Club, original member of Jimmy’s Hot Rod Shop, a founding member of Twin Coves Investment Club, a founding member of the Community Foundation for Cloud County, and an enthusiastic member of Skiyota Ski Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kim, Concordia; daughter, Danielle &amp; Josh Freeborn, Concordia; son, David Wiesner, Concordia; grandchildren, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Asher &amp; Katelyn; his mother, Josephine Wiesner, Concordia; Siblings: Jean &amp; Lonnie Bachand, Concordia,&nbsp; Robert &amp; Dawn Wiesner, Dallas, Texas; Jerry &amp; Joan Wiesner, Concordia; Brian &amp; Linda Wiesner, Oviedo, Florida; and Annie &amp; Dennis Bergmann, Concordia, brothers-in-law, Michael D. Clayton Lyle Zook, 79, passed on to his eternal home July 21, 2022. The oldest of six children, Lyle was born to Clyde and Mabel (Lenhert) Zook in Abilene, Kansas on March 16, 1943. 

He grew up in Dickinson County where he always lived on a farm and learned to work at a very young age. He was plowing by age six and, with the sheriff’s approval, hauled his first load of wheat at age eleven. In upper grade school through high school he was also a part of the family turkey and cattle businesses. Lyle began his education in Moonlight’s one-room school. He also attended schools in Detroit, Talmage, and Chapman, completing high school in 1961. He started driving a school bus when he was a freshman. Always having a tender heart towards the Lord, Lyle understood the plan of salvation and gave his heart and life to Jesus at a young age. He endeavored to live a dedicated Godly life for his savior. A lifelong member of the Brethren in Christ Church, he spent two years of alternate service at the Life Line Mission in San Francisco. In this capacity he picked up donations, gave mission guests tours, helped to prepare and serve up to 100 meals each evening and served as bouncer for the evening service. He also transported youth and was greatly involved in ministry to them. Lyle was also called upon to do numerous maintenance jobs at two mission sites. It was in this capacity that he met the love of his life. He and Molly Ann Pool were married December 4, 1964. In 1966 Lyle returned with his bride to Kansas to farm and raise turkeys in partnership with his father. That same year they became the parents of Karen Joy. Two years later son Kenneth John joined the family on Christmas Day. From 1973 until 2009, he, with Molly, were foster parents to over 120 children - some for a day, but most for months to years. Regardless of the time spent in their home, each child was important and loved. Lyle is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Mabel Zook, great-grandson Harding Shumate, and brother-in-law Ron Garver.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Molly, as well as his children Karen (Mike) Corl and Kenneth (Ronda) Zook; grandchildren Jeffrey Zook, Allie Zook, Jason Zook, Andrea (Darrin) Shumate, Janessa Zook, Levi Zook, Andrew Corl (David), Aaron (Jesse) Corl, Anna (J.T.) Brantley, Abigail Corl; and great-grandchildren Hadlee Shumate, J.L. and Allyssa Brantley; Brothers Verle (Katy), Marlin (Connie), and Leon (Bette) Zook, sisters Lavina Garver and Susan (Duane) Schiffbauer, one aunt, Lola Zook, numerous cousins and their spouses, and the many foster children he loved dearly. A memorial service to celebrate Lyle’s homecoming will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 29 at the Abilene Brethren in Christ Church with pastors Dale Engle and Stan Norman officiating. Burial will follow at the Abilene City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 28 at the Abilene Brethren in Christ Church, 11th and Buckeye, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Mark R Bennett, 51, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday July 20, 2022, in Salina.&nbsp; He was born April 8, 1971, in St. Louis, Missouri. He spent his childhood in Ellsworth, where he graduated from Ellsworth High School.&nbsp;

Mark used his skills from growing up in his family’s flooring business and had a career as a flooring installer. He had a great reputation for his workmanship clear up until he became ill and then had to retire.&nbsp;

He was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) in April 2018. He continued to work until his body gave out on him, then he moved to Salina to live with his sister, Jennifer, and her family. He still had a will to live out life to the fullest, even with his limitations. His nieces Ashley, Alyssa, and Arica all helped make this happen and took him anywhere from concerts to the top of Pikes Peak. He loved his family and was looking most forward to meeting his first grandchild Jaxxon in August.

He was blessed at the end stages with some great caretakers that went above and beyond to bring him comfort.&nbsp;

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Reuben and Alma Bennett, Ellsworth and maternal grandparents Quentin, and June Eklund, Ellsworth.

He is survived by his son Quentin (Jocelyn) Bennett of Hutchinson, &nbsp;his parents Richard, and Machelle Bennett of Abilene, his two sisters Jennifer (Todd) Fitzgerald, and Stephanie (Tom Forristal) Bennett, both of Salina and a brother, Matt Bennett of Colorado Springs, CO, 10 nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Roselawn Memorial Park, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina.

Memorials can be made to the ALS Association in Kansas City, KS.

Carolyn Kirgis Johnson passed away July 24, 2022, at the Phillips 
County Hospital after suffering for decades with Multiple Sclerosis.&nbsp; 
She was born August 8, 1960, in Beloit, KS, the daughter of Robert &amp; 
Doris (Aronis) Kirgis.

She grew up on the farm in Mitchell County.&nbsp; She preferred being 
inside cooking while her two older sisters, Connie &amp; Catherine 
worked outside with their parents.&nbsp; She graduated from Beloit High 
School where she enjoyed being a part of all the musical activities; 
band, vocal &amp; school musicals were just a part of her busy 
schedule.&nbsp; She was a head cheerleader for the state winning Trojans 
&amp; was honored to wear the homecoming crown.

She continued her education at Colby Community College, then 
transferred to Kansas State University where she received her BA.&nbsp; She 
then selected the Salina Vocational Technical School to become a dental 
assistant for Dr. Jerry Lundgren DDS.&nbsp; She was proud to say that her 
entire college years were financed through her participation in the Miss
 America franchise system.&nbsp; She held many titles &amp; made many 
lifelong friends all over the 50 states.

In July 1985, she became Miss Kansas &amp; represented her state in 
Atlantic City, NJ.&nbsp; Her road to Miss America was aided by so many 
wonderful people that coached &amp; encouraged the Hog Farmer’s Daughter
 to Stand Proud &amp; Sing Loud!&nbsp; As her family mourns her passing their
 hearts are warmed by the outpouring of Love coming in from all 
directions.

In October of 1987, Carolyn was united in marriage to Perry Dale 
Johnson at the Salemsborg Lutheran Church in Smolan, KS.&nbsp; The welcomed 
their son, Chaddlee Dale on November 10, 1990.&nbsp; He grew up playing 
baseball just like his dad.&nbsp; The marriage was saddened by the infant 
losses of Chander Kirgis Johnson &amp; Allison Kaylinn Johnson.&nbsp; It was 
during these difficult years that Carolyn Jo was diagnosed with Multiple
 Sclerosis.&nbsp; In the early stages she was able to sing at benefits &amp; 
work for the foundation, but her health deteriorated quickly &amp; at 
the time of her passing she had been in the Phillips County Retirement 
Center over 18 years.

Left to mourn her passing is her son, Chadd Johnson of Abliene, KS; 
her mother, Doris Kirgis of Beloit, KS; sisters, Connie &amp; Jerry Cox 
of Long Island, KS &amp; Catherine &amp; Clayton Cox of Norton, KS; 9 
nieces &amp; nephews &amp; 35 great nieces &amp; nephews.&nbsp; They will be 
joining her many caring friends across the state of Kansas!

Through this loss, we’ve learned that God understands our pain. He 
doesn’t always fix it; sometimes he just sits with us &amp; lets us lean
 on him while the grief comes.&nbsp; We cling to the promise to be made whole
 once again &amp; reunited with our loved ones in Heaven!

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 1:30 
p.m. in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor 
Becky Saddler officiating.&nbsp; The service will be streamed live on the 
Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.&nbsp; A graveside service will be
 held at 4:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit.&nbsp;

Memorial contributions may be made to the Phillips County Retirement Center of the Beloit First Christian Church Youth Group.

Skylor Jo Brummer was born on October 30, 1986, one minute after his twin brother, Seth, in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Daniel and Rhonda Cox Brummer. He was welcomed home by his older brother, Michael, and was born 11 months and 5 days before his sister Emily. He died Saturday, July 16, 2022 as the result of a motorcycle accident in Lenexa, Kansas at the age of 35.

Skylor grew up on the family farm near Asherville, and attended Beloit High School, where he graduated in 2005. Following graduation, he attended the NCK Technical College, where he earned his degree in auto mechanics. While in school, he also worked at the Mitchell County Hospital. He later moved to Lawrence to support his twin brother Seth and start his career as an automotive technician. He became a proud home owner in the last year.

For the last 15 years, he has worked in Lawrence at Bossier Subaru, Brigg’s, and McCarthy Subaru as a master technician. He was always the “go-to guy” and would always drop what he was doing to help others.

In his spare time, he loved fishing, playing video games, dancing, going on motorcycle rides and car shows, and eating good food. He also enjoyed any outdoor adventures involving walking and hiking, and loved spending time with friends and family. Throughout his life, he also spent a lot of time at his grandparent's farm, helping out with whatever chores needed to be done. He also had a special spot in his heart for his beloved dog, Balou.

Skylor was known as a jokester, and always kept people smiling and laughing. He never had an enemy and touched a lot of hearts.

He is greeted in heaven by his dog Balou; Grandpa and Grandma Engelbert; Grandpa Norman Cox; great-grandparents Forest and Thelma Wilson; great-grandma Helen Murray; great-grandma Katherine Brummer; uncle Rodney Cox; and cousins Lucas Mehl, Trevor Beyma, and Destiny Cox.

Skylor is survived by his proud parents, Dan and Rhonda Brummer of Asherville; twin brother Seth and DJ of Junction City, brother Michael and Sara Brummer of Denton, Texas, and sister Emily of Overland Park; grandparents Gerald and Pauline Brummer of Beloit, and Norma Cox of Eufaula, Oklahoma; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 25 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House or Toys for Tots.

Mike’s life began on November 21, 1930, at home, in Antelope, KS. He was the son of Alvin “Bud” and Verna (Bass) Loveless. 

Mike attended school in both Lincolnville and Marion. He was a member of the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. 

During his time in Army, Mike came home to marry LaVona Weathers on January 14, 1954, in Marion. The couple enjoyed 68 years of marriage. 

Mike was a farmer and rancher. He and LaVona raised sheep and grew crops at their Antelope farm. Mike also worked in the oilfields for a few companies and with his father-in-law. 

He was a member of American Legion Post 347 in Lincolnville and had been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Mike was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors hunting and camping. He and LaVona enjoyed attending the Walnut Valley Blue Grass Festival as much as they could. 

He is survived by his loving wife LaVona of Marion, children Judy (Roy) Houdyshell of Lincolnville, David Loveless of Lincolnville, and Tamara Suffield of Marion; grandchildren Sara (Randall) Batman, Michelle Loveless, Matthew Loveless, Alisha Loveless, Nikki (Ryan) Van Wort, Dustin (Kara) Suffield and Roxi (Rob) Santamaria; 14 great-grandchildren and his sister Thelma Green of Whitewater.
