John M. Schmitt, age 73, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at North Central Kansas Medical Center, Concordia, KS.&nbsp; He was born on December 2, 1948 in Concordia, KS to Arthur F. and Mary A. (Thompson) Schmitt.

John graduated in 1967 from Notre Dame Catholic High School, Concordia.&nbsp; During his senior year, John won a state title in the low hurdles and continued his track career at Benedictine College and again at Cloud County Community College.&nbsp; He was instrumental in starting the track club at Benedictine College.

He married Mary A. Betzen on May 22, 1971 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, St. Mark’s, KS.

John worked in the family business at Schmitt’s Clothing and later was a truck driver for Christensen Oil and later Myers Trucking until his retirement in 2017.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia and a former Knights of Columbus member.&nbsp; He was active in the Jaycees where he was a past president and district officer.&nbsp; He was a former Scoutmaster for Troop 32 and former member of the Elks club.

John is survived by his wife Mary, Concordia; his children Theodore “Ted” Schmitt (Virginia), Salina, Brian Schmitt (Anna Stone), Tampa, FL, Sarah Reed (Shawn), Concordia, Marsha Schmitt Fulton (Casey), Topeka, Peter Schmitt (Sarah), Lawrence, Carl Schmitt, Lawrence and Nicholas Schmitt, Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; brother Matt Schmitt (Edna), Beatrice, NE and a sister, Ann Sharpe (Art), Albuquerque, NM and all of Mary’s family, including several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Samantha Schmitt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Fr. David Metz officiating.&nbsp; Cremation will follow the services and family burial of the cremains will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia at a later date.&nbsp; Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2022 from 1-8 p.m., family will greet friends from 4:30-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.&nbsp; 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to assist with funeral expenses in care of the funeral home.&nbsp;

Blanche Angela Haug, 88, beloved wife and mother, passed from this life on November 28, 2022. She was born September 18, 1934 in Seneca, KS, the daughter of Walter and Theresa (Fangman) Stallbaumer.

She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in St. Benedict, a small town near Seneca, in 1952.

Blanche was united in marriage to Lambert Haug on January 25, 1955. They chose Abilene as their home in 1957 and raised their seven children there, growing together in love and faith in their 67 years of marriage. As her children left home, Blanche entered the real estate business in Abilene with her husband. Her warm and genuine personality led her to be a successful realtor at Haug Realty. Her smile and kind words always had a way of warming the hearts and lifting the spirit of those around her, even in her final days. She had a devout love for Jesus and was passionate about her Catholic faith. She modeled this by always encouraging her family to grow in their faith and praying for them always. In her later years she and her husband were fortunate to make religious pilgrimages, domestic and abroad to Venezuela, the Holy Land, and Rome, including a general audience with Pope John Paul II. These travels deepened her faith and devotion to God. Blanche was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Ladies of St. Andrew, and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed volunteering there, as well as the Abilene Clothing Bank. She was a wonderful cook, known for her delicious pies and chocolate chip cookies. She loved playing bridge and visiting over coffee with friends while still active. Blanche spent the last few months of her life being cared for at home by her loving family.

 She will be sadly missed by her husband Lambert, children Dr. Tom (Karen) Haug of Lincoln, NE, Ed (Nola) Haug of Fort Myers, FL, Sue (Rick) Helvey of Salina, KS, Tim (Terri) Haug of Leawood, KS, Tony (Jenny) Haug, Katy (Ted) Barbieri, and Jenny (Chris) Brooks, all of Abilene, 29 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sisters Joan Steinlage, Seneca, KS, Anna Marie Hiestand, Fargo, MN, and brother Pat Stallbaumer, Topeka, KS. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, and a grandson. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, December 2 at 10 a.m. St. Andrew Catholic Church, Abilene.&nbsp;Parish rosary Thursday, December 1 at 5:30 p.m., Danner Funeral Home, Abilene.

She is survived by her daughter Lisa Kim, two sons, Johnny, and Steven Kim, and five grandchildren.

Born in 1933 in Gangwon-do, Korea, she immigrated to the United States in 1976 with her three children. In 1982, she put down roots in Salina, KS, raising her family as matriarch and working hard to support and cultivate a cheerful, welcoming home.

Byong enjoyed gardening, knitting, traveling, and creating cherished memories with her family. She will be remembered as a steadfast, warm-hearted woman who embraced the happy moments in life while enduring through hard times with grace and strength.

She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina, KS, in a private ceremony by immediate family.

Richard Devon Laws, 80, of Orem, Utah passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the home of his son, Darin, in Minneapolis, Kansas. Richard was born April 6, 1942 in Fillmore, Utah to Elroy and Eava Richardson Laws. 

He married Sharlet Marie Slade on June 9, 1967 in Salt Lake Temple of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Richard grew up in Provo and graduated from Provo High School. 

After high school Richard served in the U.S. Army. He served in the CIA in his early years and later moved back to Utah County and worked at Geneva Steel for 37 years. 

His family will always remember Richard as a hard worker and always on time. 

Richard loved sports and was an avid Jazz and BYU fan and coached his sons in baseball in their youth. He was a devoted member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. He enjoyed nothing more than teasing grandchildren and attending their many activities. 

Richard and Sharlet moved to Kansas nine months ago to live with their son and his family. While there, they enjoyed fun activities which included visiting Dodge City where his favorite western television program “Gunsmoke” was set. There he was able to finally say “lets get the hell out of Dodge.”

He is survived by his wife Sharlet of Orem; three children: Brenda (Dan) White, Orem; Brian (Rachel) Laws, Wake Forest, NC; Darin (Anita) Laws, Minneapolis, KS; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five siblings: Kaelene (Richard) Swanson, Mike (Peggy) Laws, Vicki (Jim) Guild, Debbie (Darrell) Trump and Tammy (Dave) Nuttall. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tara.&nbsp;

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Orem Second Ward Chapel, 80 South 280 East, Orem. Jessie F. (Drake) Showalter, 88, went to be with her Savior on 
November 27, 2022. She was born to William L. and Ella M. (Dial) Kramel 
of Blackwater, MO, the eighth of 10 children.

Jessie was married to Rex Drake for 28 years. He passed in 1982. She remarried to Ray Showalter for 20 years. He passed in 2011.

Jessie was a beautician and owner of Larkland Beauty Salon for many 
years as well as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. You
 could always find her busy in the kitchen, working in her yard, or 
playing with her grandchildren. Jessie was a great cook and known for 
her mashed potatoes as well as delicious desserts. She loved to pay 
cards with her sister and enjoyed annual fishing trips to Roaring River 
with her family. Jessie was a long-time member of Temple Baptist and New
 Hope Baptist Churches.

Survivors include: her children, Terri (Danny) Kelsey of Dickinson, 
TX, Daniel (Karen) Drake of Hutchinson, Kim Drake of Salina, Stephen 
(Rowena) Drake of Joplin, MO; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 
brothers, William Lee (Eleanor) Kramel, Bob Kramel, and Emil (Kathy) 
Kramel.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Rex Drake and 
Ray Showalter; grandson, Cameron Bookout; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022, at

Edward Dalke, 84, of Hesston, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Pine Village in Moundridge, Kansas. He was born September 20, 1938, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, the youngest of seven children born to Henry and Carrie (Base) Dalke. 

He spent his first years of life growing up on the Base homeplace in Fort Cobb. Edward prayed to receive Christ as his savior at the age of twelve after hearing an evangelist share the Gospel at his home church, Green Field Mennonite, which was just a few miles away from the Base homeplace. As soon as he was big enough to pull a sack behind him, Edward joined in the family’s work of picking cotton. From a young age, it was his dream to be able to have and run a farm of his own. After his brother Herman and wife Selma moved to Halstead, they helped find work for Edward on nearby farms during the summer. His parents, Henry and Carrie, also made the move to Halstead, Kansas where Edward finished high school. In the summer of 1957, Earl and Darlene Bartel hired Edward as a farmhand, and a certain Joyce Voran as help inside the house with cooking, cleaning, and watching the children. Edward and Joyce were soon smitten with each other, got engaged at Christmas and were married that next summer on June 20, 1958. They had three children together, Ileen, Allen, and Janell. Edward learned how to weld in high school and went to mechanics school in Denver after high school. These things served him well when he went to work for Hesston Corporation.

Soon after Janell was born, Edward got to realize his dream of having his own farm. The family moved to a farm just down the road from Joyce’s homeplace, and Edward farmed that land for over 50 years. He continued at Hesston Corporation while he began a dairy. He operated a dairy for more than 20 years and then drove truck for Sunglo Feeds for nearly 20 years. 

He served at Garden Church all of his adult life in various capacities including the roles of deacon and elder. Church and ministry were very important in Edward’s life. He loved his family, loved God and desired that all of his friends and family have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Survivors include his daughters Ileen Miller of Oceanside, California and Janell (Ray) Zuercher of Olathe, Kansas; Five grandchildren: Clarissa Dalke, Tyler Dalke, Rachelle Clair, Jared Zuercher, and Katelynn Zuercher; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Norman Dalke of Yukon, Oklahoma; sisters, Ruthie Nightengale of Carnegie, Oklahoma and Edith Unruh of Halstead, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joyce; son Allen; brothers Herman and Irwin; sister Ruby Unruh; brothers-in-law Alvin Unruh, Leo Nightengale, and Bennie Unruh; sisters-in-law Selma, Norabell, and Micky. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Garden Community Church, rural Moundridge. She worked for Kansas State University on Fort Riley and for the Clay Center Dispatch and the Salina Journal in ad sales.&nbsp; 

Cynthia was a member of the Eagles #3650 Auxiliary for many years and was past-president.&nbsp; She also served on the transportation board and site council for Apollo Towers.&nbsp;

Beloved educator and world traveler, Sara Jane Mosier was born November 15, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp; She is the daughter of Laurence A. and Mildred L. (Dunn) Moore. 

Sara Jane was trained as a teacher at Marymount College in Salina in 1952 and began a distinguished teaching career that included assignments in Germany in 1961 and Japan in 1963 on United States military bases.&nbsp; She also taught in Topeka for five years and earned her master's of education degree from Washburn University in 1973.&nbsp;From Topeka, Sara Jane found herself in Herington, Kansas where she taught elementary school from 1975 – 1992.  

She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Herington. 

Sara Jane loved animals, traveling, and trying out new recipes.&nbsp; Her extensive world travels took her all over Europe and Africa.&nbsp; Jane also enjoyed the period of time she lived with her sister in Phoenix.&nbsp; 

Left to cherish her memories are nieces and nephews Sharon (Ken) Kalkwarf of San Antonio, TX, Christine (Claude) Moore-Coe of Charlotte, NC, Jamie Moore of Austin, TX and Steven Moore of Lincoln, NE and several great-nieces and nephews.&nbsp; 

Sara Jane passed away on November 24, 2022, at Eagle Crest Assisted Living in Salina.&nbsp;

 She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Loretta Heard and brother James “Jim” L. Moore.&nbsp;

Dennis R. Douglas, 82 years of age, of Clyde passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde.&nbsp; He was born on November 14, 1940 in Clyde, Kansas to Roland and Teresa (Caron) Douglas.

Dennis was a 1958 graduate of Clyde High School.

On September 5, 1959 he married Sherril Brosseau at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde.&nbsp; To this union two boys were born, Chris and Eric.

Dennis worked as a meat cutter at the Clyde Ideal Market for 17 years.&nbsp; He then managed Makin Bacon of Clifton for 17 years. He retired from Clifton CO-OP where he drove the feed truck.&nbsp; Dennis and his brother Louis also owned and operated 4-D Fur Farm in Clyde for many years.

He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and the Clyde Golf Association where he served as past president.&nbsp; Dennis volunteered his time in helping maintain and care of the Clyde Golf course for several years.

Dennis enjoyed, hunting, fishing, trapping, golfing, woodworking and was an avid K-State fan.&nbsp; He was a gifted woodcraftsman where he made nativity scenes, bird houses and various wood projects, and attended craft fairs.

Dennis is survived by his wife Sherri Douglas, Clyde, KS; two sons, Chris Douglas (Kim) of Hutchinson, KS, Eric Douglas (Jenni) of Bel Aire, KS; four grandchildren, Lindsey Henning (Steven), DeLand, FL; Mackinzie Blake (Trevor), Hutchinson, KS; Austin Douglas and friend Rebekah, Wichita, KS; Jackson Douglas, Denton, TX; great-granddaughter, Rylee Henning, DeLand, FL; sister-in-law Karen LeBlanc, So. Hutchinson, KS; two brothers-in-law, A.J. Brosseau (Becky), &nbsp;Mission Viejo, CA; Robert Brosseau (Shirley) Ammon, ID; sister-in-law Maxine Boling of Clyde, KS; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent, Roland and Teresa, father and mother-in-law Ralph and Helen Brosseau, brother Louis Douglas, brothers-in-law Rick Brosseau and Don LeBlanc; sister-in-law Sheri Brosseau, his nieces Ali, Kathy, and Carol, a nephew, Steven.

Rosalita M. (Rottinghaus) Skeels, age 85, longtime Concordia resident, entered into rest on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at her home in Concordia.&nbsp; She was born in St. Benedict on January 5, 1937 to Alvin and Rose (Haverkamp) Rottinghaus.

Rosie graduated from Marymount School of Nursing in Salina, KS in 1958.

On May 4, 1959 she married Kenneth D. Skeels at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Benedict, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union four children were born, DeAnn, David, Douglas, and Dana.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.&nbsp; Rosie had a deep passion of caring for others.&nbsp; She worked in nursing until the age of 75.

Rosie enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, baking and most of all spending time with her family especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she was always excited to see.

She is survived by her husband Kenny Skeels, Concordia, KS; daughter DeAnn Romberger (Richard), Abilene, KS; son David Skeels (Nikki), Shawnee, KS; son Douglas Skeels, Concordia, KS; Dana Santos (Marcus), Littleton, CO; 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Elmer Rottinghaus (Nancy) and Regis Rottinghaus, two sisters, MaryAnn Dressman and Millie Heinen.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Rose, brothers Wilbert, Leonard, Albert, Justin and Galen Rottinghaus, sister Dorothy Fangman.

John Wesley Willey III, Topeka, KS, left this world to join his beloved wife on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the age of 84. He was born October 2nd, 1938 in Solomon, KS, the only child to John Wesley Willey, Jr. and Henrietta M Wolfe. 

A graduate of Solomon High School, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Arlene P Haymond of Salina, KS on June 5, 1960. They lived in Solomon for 31 years and together welcomed three children: a son, John IV, and twin daughters, Linda and Brenda.

In 1990, John and Arlene moved to Abilene, KS. Sadly, Arlene passed away on Dec 2, 2002 and John moved to Topeka, KS shortly after this, where he resided with Mary Wright. John began his lifelong career as a civil engineer with Wilson and Company Engineering and Architects, Salina, KS, at the age of 18. Notably, his first engineering assignment was the design and construction of I-70 at Abilene. Over the next four decades, he was involved in major infrastructure improvements in the mid- and southwest region of the U.S. and for the City of Abilene. In 1989 he was hired as Abilene’s City Engineer. He spent the next 12 years there before retiring in 2001. His most significant contribution was the construction of the first reverse osmosis municipal water treatment plant in the state of Kansas.

He was a Freemason and served as secretary of Solomon City Lodge for 25 years and was a former officer of the Grand Lodge of Kansas. Attending the annual Solomon lodge picnic each June with his family was one event he perpetually looked forward to. He was a man of few words with a quiet, witty sense of humor. Incredibly wise and intelligent, he was the kind of person that when he spoke, everyone listened. Although he was quite stubborn and independent himself, he would drop everything to do anything for his loved ones. An avid NASCAR fan, John often enjoyed a nap with the race playing in the background. His love for his various dogs and cats throughout his life was apparent, and anyone who knew him will always picture him in his wardrobe staples—cowboy boots and sweaters year-round. John and Arlene were their grandchildren’s greatest fans, cheering at every sporting or musical event they were able to attend and taking them on countless day-trip vacations including tours of Big Brutus, old steam engines, airplanes, and fishing. He was known as the grandpa who believed in donuts and Oreo cookies for breakfast and he always had some kind of candy or cookie to bring each time he visited. John was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene.

He leaves behind his son John (Jason) Willey IV, Topeka, KS; Linda (Joe) Duntz, Manhattan, KS; Brenda (Mike)Yamamoto, Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren: Dustin, Ashley, TJ, James, and Andrew; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon, on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.

John D. Gregory, 70, of Wichita died on November 25,2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. John was born John DeRoam Gregory to Sylvia Patricia Wilhoit and Truman Gregory on October 28, 1952, in Osborne, Kansas. 

As an only child, he grew up helping his father on the farm in Woodston, Kansas. 

John attended primary school in Woodston, Kansas and later, John graduated from Stockton High school in 1970 after Woodston closed due to low enrollment. John attended Fort Hays State University from 1970-1973 graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications. He was an active member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity.

He married his college sweetheart, Kathyrn R. Rohrbough of Scott City, Kansas on March 2, 1974. John worked for the Great Bend Tribune, Osborne County Farmer Newspaper, Brush Art, and Arrow Printing Company.

He is survived by his daughters Robin Gregory of Oklahoma, and Crystal and husband Nathan Elliott and two grandchildren, William and Halle of Wichita, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his wife Kathy on June 9, 2022.

John was a member of the Andale Catholic Church. John is known in the Salina area community for his work at Arrow Printing Company as an account executive. He was an active 4-H leader in Saline County in photography approximately from 1990-2010.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 1st, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 2nd, at the funeral home.

Mabel Henrietta Warren Mase was born August 29, 1918, to Vivian and Etta Flentie Vautravers, in Centralia, KS.&nbsp; She passed from this life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 21, 2022.

Mabel grew up on a farm near Centralia, surrounded by five siblings and extended family.&nbsp; As a girl, she enjoyed school and was eager for it every day.

Mabel graduated from Centralia High School in 1936, then attended Kansas State College where she earned her teaching certificate.&nbsp; During her second year of college, her family moved to a farm south of Ada, KS.&nbsp; Upon receiving her teaching certificate, she taught at a rural school just north of Minneapolis.

Mabel and Carroll Warren were married May 5, 1941. Jean Anne was born March 29, 1943, followed by Laurel Beth on December 24, 1946.

Mabel loved being a homemaker, wife, and mother.&nbsp; She also retained her love of learning and earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kansas State University.&nbsp; She taught briefly in Salina, then two years in Ada before teaching third grade in Minneapolis for 17 years.

Mabel earned her master’s degree in special education from Kansas State University in 1970 after which she taught in Minneapolis then at Hawthorne Elementary School in Salina until her retirement in 1981.&nbsp; Mabel loved teaching, and she loved her students.

In the sixties and early seventies, Mabel’s family increased by two sons-in-law, Bob Griffin and Robert Cudney; and three grandchildren, Todd Griffin and Jeff and Melissa Cudney.

Following Carroll’s death in 1983, Mabel spent a year as a Pi Beta Phi housemother at UNM in Albuquerque.&nbsp;

In March of 1985, Mabel married Wayne Mase and they made their home in Salina.&nbsp; Her family grew with a stepson, Gerald and MaryLu Mase and a stepdaughter, Norma and Roger Craft; and seven step-grandchildren.

During her retirement years, Mabel remained active in Delta Kappa Gamma and the Retired Teachers Association.&nbsp; She loved to play golf and bridge and she volunteered with St. Stephens Ministry, Meals on Wheels, and Reach to Recovery.

Throughout her life, Mabel enjoyed activities with the local ladies.&nbsp; She loved entertaining and was a gracious hostess.&nbsp; Mabel enjoyed staying in touch with former neighbors through the Solomon Valley Sunflowers.

Mabel was blessed to have eight great-grandchildren, Stuart and Grant Griffin, Elijah, Emory, Annalee, and Bodie Cudney and Joshua and Emily McClendon; seven step-grandchildren; numerous step-great-grandchildren; and numeours step-great-great-grandchildren.

After Wayne passed away, Mabel moved to an apartment at the Salina Presbyterian Manor and to assisted living in 2021.&nbsp; During her years at the Manor, Mabel continued to volunteer and make many friends.

Mabel’s greatest joy was being with her family and enjoying time together.&nbsp;

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Marvin, Paul, Alice, and Eldon; husbands Carroll and Wayne; daughter Jean; and stepson Gerald Mase.

Mabel is survived by her brother Ralph and Sue Vautravers; daughter Beth and Robert Cudney; son-in-law Bob and Barbara Griffin; step-daughter-in-law MaryLu Mase; stepdaughter Norma and Roger Craft; grandchildren Todd and Rachel Griffin, Jeff and Mindi Cudney, and Melissa and John McClendon; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren; and step-great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. &nbsp;Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30 at the funeral home.&nbsp; Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salina Presbyterian Manor and be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 166, Minneapolis, KS 67467.

Mabel H. Warren Mase

Lola Mae Boyd, 82, of Paradise, Kansas, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.

Lola was born November 18, 1940, in Osborne County, Kansas.&nbsp; She was 
one of five children born to Russell and Grace (Finch) Boyd.&nbsp; She grew 
up in Natoma, Kansas, and graduated from Natoma High School.&nbsp;

Lola was a manager for Autozone Store in Omaha, Nebraska, and a 
manager for Radio Shack.&nbsp; Before that she was a draftsman for REMCO.&nbsp; 
She lived in Omaha from 1991 to 2008, then she moved to Paradise.&nbsp; Later
 in life, she helped with the music department for USD 407.&nbsp; She enjoyed 
playing the piano for local schools and churches.&nbsp; She was a member of 
the Melony Cousins that played on the Great Bend Television station.&nbsp; 
She loved her community and was always willing to do whatever she could 
to help.

Lola’s surviving family include her two daughters, Teresa Meyers 
(Rodney) of WaKeeney, Kansas and Stephanie Scheck (Kennith) of Russell, 
Kansas; two sons, Wade Winder of Paradise, Kansas and Stephen Winder 
(Pam) of Garden City, Kansas; six grandchildren and thirteen great 
grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Joan Boyd of Abilene, Kansas.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Catherine Boyd; brothers, Fred Boyd and Rex Boyd.

Celebration of Lola’s Life will be held at 11:30 AM, Monday, December
 5, 2022, at the Paradise United Methodist Church.&nbsp; Burial will follow at
 the Natoma City Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be held at the Church from 
10:00 AM to service time.&nbsp; 

A Memorial has been established as the Lola 
Boyd Memorial Fund.&nbsp; Contributions and condolences may be sent to
