DuWayne’s life began on April 8, 1940, in Newton. He was the son of Alfred and Hedwig (Busenitz) Wiebe. DuWayne attended school through 8th&nbsp;grade at Burns and graduated from Berean Academy. He attended Grace College as well. He was united in marriage to Myrial Bartel on August 25, 1962, in Drake, Saskatchewan. The couple made their home in Burn where DuWayne farmed the family farm. He was a member of the Emmaus Church and enjoyed family especially his 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. His loving family includes his children Reg (Tiffany) Wiebe of El Dorado, Dawn (Chris) Blasdel of Wichita, Chad (Leanna) Wiebe of Kiev Ukraine, and Carol ( Bert) Warren of Des Moines, IA; siblings Evangeline ( Sam) Roth, Ted (Nancy) Wiebe, Delores Ames, Bernice ( Joel) Penner, Kerwin (Jan) Wiebe, and Maxine (Brad) Unruh; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;DuWayne went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday February 26, 2024, at Regent Park Rehabilitation in Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Myrial. His family will gather with friends on Sunday March 10, 2024, from 4- 6 p.m. at the Emmaus Church. &nbsp;On Monday March 11, 2024, burial at 9 a.m. at Emmaus Cemetery followed by the funeral at 10 a.m. at Emmaus Church where his funeral will take place on Monday March 11, 2024, at 10 a.m. &nbsp;Lamb Funeral Home is serving the family. &nbsp;Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to SEND International in care of Chad and Leanna Wiebe. Larry Don Spear July 11, 1936 ~ February 23, 2024

Larry Don Spear was born July 11, 1936, in Lincoln County, the youngest child of Frank and Alta (Titsworth) Spear. He departed this life on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the age of 87.

Larry was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Lincoln County. In June 1955, he married Wilma Jean “Jeanie” Ryan and to the union, three sons; Steve, Mike and Brad were born and raised on the family farm Northwest of Lincoln.

Farm life was the best life for Larry. He spent the majority of his days tending to the land and sharing his knowledge of farming practices as well as a solid work ethic with his family. He never missed a day of work, and even up until his final weeks, he was always busy, which kept his mind sharp and his body mobile.

When work was finished, Larry, known by “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was known to enjoy an afternoon of fishing, family time at the lake, a solid game of cards, a piece of homemade pie (or two if Sue allowed him) and always…a well deserved nap!

After the loss of his wife of 48 years, Jeanie, Larry met Virginia “Sue” Dean and the couple wed in February of 2005. Larry and Sue were well-known on area dance floors and spent many hours kicking up their heels at Jolly-Mixer dances. Their love of dancing also blessed them with many friendships throughout the years.

Larry was a believer of Christ and never missed an opportunity to share the Word of the Lord. While he will be deeply missed by his family, he can now rest in the eternal glory of his heavenly home.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Betty “Jean” Markley and Shirley Phillips; wife Jeanie Spear; and son Brad Spear.

Left to celebrate Larry’s life and legacy include his wife Sue; sons, Steve (Jill) Spear and Mike (Lori) Spear; daughter-in-law Diane Spear; grandchildren, Ryan (Lori) Spear, Jared (Lisa) Spear, Corey (Kacy) Spear, Rachael Spear, Adam Spear and Jesse Spear; great-grandchildren, Aziah, Kaydence, Teryn, Axl and Stryker.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at Prairie Grove Cemetery, rural Lincoln.

Kim Michelle Lake October 18, 1959 ~ February 22, 2024

Kim Michelle Lake of Abilene, KS died February 22, 2024, from complications of Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.

Kim was born on October 18, 1959, in Abilene, KS to Bernice (Barlow) Davis Abbott. Kim was adopted by Robert Davis and his loving family after the union of Robert and Bernice.

Kim lived her entire life in Abilene, graduating from Abilene High School in 1977. Kim attended Cloud Community College.

On July 19, 1980, Kim married James Ray Lake. Jim and Kim had two children, Jeremy Ryan Lake and Jessica Robin Lake. The couple were married for 43 years.

Kim worked for Duckwall ALCO for 34 years until its closing in 2015. In 2015, Kim started working remotely for Orscheln Farm and Home as a PC Technician. Kim made many lifelong friends while working. She medically retired on April 29, 2022.

Kim enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching the Kansas City Chiefs with Jim’s grandma, Leona Stammeyer, listening to Elvis tunes, fishing at Milford Lake, spending time with her brothers and sisters and playing with her children and grandchildren.

Kim and Jessica had grand adventures across the US; diamond mining, hot air ballooning, gambling in Las Vegas, shopping at the US’s largest mall, sampling teas at Celestial Seasonings, emerald and ruby mining in the Carolina’s, attending renaissance festivals, whitewater rafting, touring national parks, camping and horseback riding in the Colorado mountains, viewing movies, dinner theaters, Broadway plays, and zoo trips.

Kim is survived by husband Jim; daughter Jessica; three grandchildren; Brianna Lake , Kohen Luchsinger, and Bryce Dickerman and three great-granddaughters; Lavaeh Burdine, Palmer and Aurora Moffith; siblings; Chris (Roxie) Davis of Salina KS, Lisa (Al) Wal of Chino Valley AZ, Curt (Lori) Davis of Delphos KS and Julie (Dean) Gier of Wichita KS; Mother-in-law Vivian Lake, sister-in-law Kimberly Lake, many loved family members, and Shaun the beloved family dog.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Allen Abbott; grandparents OC and Elma Barlow &amp; Darrell and Arlene Davis; son, Jeremy; brother, Mark A. Davis; father-in-law, James E. Lake; infant nephew, Jacob Driver; and several aunts and uncles.

Memorials may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or Dickinson County Home Health and Hospice and may be sent in care of the Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye, Abilene, Kansas 67410, but Kim would have preferred you to enjoy a movie, picnic or playdate with your children or grandchildren in her memory.

A celebration of life will be announced later.

Michael’s life began on September 10, 1958, in El Dorado. He was the son of Richard and Nadine (Paige) Adams. Michael is a 1977 graduate of El Dorado High School. He recently retired from Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital where he worked in housekeeping for 22 years. Mike was enjoying his retirement, talking to family and friends, and listening to country music. He is survived by his life partner Vikki Rountree of Potwin; children Jessica (Sam Moore) Rountree and Henry (Angel) Rountree; grandchildren Annie and Zack; his siblings Gale Morgan, Richard Morgan, and Raymond “Skip” Morgan; nieces and families Casi Morgan, Asta Morgan, Amber Morgan, and Wendi Morgan. Michael passed away at his home on Friday February 23, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers James (Tuck) Morgan and twin Patrick Adams. Ronald "Ron" H. DeVolder, 81, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024. Ron was born June 16, 1942 to Victor A. and Rachel A. (Hemeryck) DeVolder in Detroit, MI.&nbsp; He graduated from Edwin C. Denby High School in 1959. He married Jacquelyn P. (Laquerre) in 1964.&nbsp; Ron was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents.&nbsp; Ron is survived by Jacquelyn DeVolder; sons, James DeVolder, Mark DeVolder, Eric DeVolder, and Jeffrey DeVolder; brother, Norman DeVolder; and 10 grandchildren.

He worked his entire career for the same company, moving up through the ranks and retired from Cashco, Inc in 2009.

Ron had a great sense of humor and laugh.&nbsp; Always on the ready to crack a witty joke whenever he could. He coached his kids' sports teams even though he wasn't an experienced coach.&nbsp; He enjoyed having his kids and grandkids at the house.&nbsp; He loved to do woodworking and built many projects for gifts and around the house.&nbsp; He also loved to golf with his sons and friends.&nbsp; He loved to watch his DVD set of Everyone Loves Raymond.&nbsp; He really lit up when he saw a bag of M &amp; M's. &nbsp;

No services as cremation was chosen and his ashes will be placed privately at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.&nbsp; Memorials are to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and sent in care of the mortuary.&nbsp;

Virginia Dennison Garrelts, age 101, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024.&nbsp; She was born in Salina Dec. 8, 1922, the daughter of Orval and Alma (Zeh) Dennison, and was a lifelong resident.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Kelly (Robert), Salina, Nancy Garrelts, Johns Creek, Ga.; four grandchildren, Christopher Ruegsegger (Sandra), Carissa Liebowitz (Adam), Tasha Campbell (Timothy), and Forrest Teske; two great grandchildren, Rhett and Charlotte Campbell. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, in 2003; a daughter, Kathy Teske in 1997; her parents; a sister, Joan Dennison Smith; 4 brothers, Philip, Robert, Richard, and William.

She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. A &nbsp;graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2024 at Roselawn.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the church.&nbsp; Ryan Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Roger Lee Beach June 11, 1948 ~ February 22, 2024

Roger Lee Beach, a devoted and compassionate man, passed away on February 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Born on June 11, 1948, in Salina, KS, Roger was the second child of Dale Mardell Beach and Lorraine Beatrice Bolby.

Roger's life was marked by bravery and service, as he served with the 101st Airborne Division Combat in Vietnam. His valor was recognized with prestigious honors including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, and more. Despite the challenges he faced, Roger remained a pillar of strength and resilience.

In his personal life, Roger found joy in genealogy and family history, a passion that reflected his deep-rooted connection to his heritage. He shared a special bond with his spouse, Sharon, and her daughters, Lisa, Layla, and Lori, whom he adored as his own. His presence brought warmth and love to their lives, leaving an indelible mark on each of them.

Known for his gentle demeanor and caring nature, Roger was a beloved figure in his community and could often be seen riding around Salina on his Harley. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors, embodying the true spirit of generosity. His garden, where he nurtured vegetables and crafted delicious salsa from his homegrown tomatoes, was a testament to his nurturing soul.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lorraine and Dale, brother Lawrence, brother-in-law Charlie, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Survived by his spouse Sharon, sister Linda, daughters Lisa Button (Tom), Layla Garr (Jason), and Lora Simmons, his granddaughters Eryn (Jared) and Emalie Hassler, Katy Fink (Peyton), Tori Hoffman, Evelyn and Stella Fitzgerald, nieces Andrea Swenson (Steve), Kim Beach, nephew Chip Armstrong (Justin), great nieces Danielle Shelton, Ashley Swenson, Ashlynn Armstrong, and by his great grandson Syer Thompson, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Roger's legacy lives on through the memories he created and the hearts he touched. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his kind spirit and loving soul continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Monday, February 26, at Ryan Mortuary, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery, New Cambria.

Wesley Charles DePoy, 70, of Beverly, Kansas, died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Kenwood View Health &amp; Rehab Center in Salina, Kansas.

He was born on November 6, 1953 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Maurice and Rosella Fischer DePoy. Wesley was raised in the Cawker City area where he graduated from high school in 1971.

He continued to live in Cawker City and married Cynthia Kay Anderson on September 21, 1995 in Salina. Shortly after being married they moved to Beverly.

Wesley was a Master Welder and worked for several businesses through the years. Having grown up around the lake at Cawker City, Wesley always enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife Cindy of the home; sons Wesley DePoy, II of Beloit, Shawn DePoy of Tipton, Bryce DePoy of Down; daughter Darcell Nelson of Iola; brothers Dan and Allen of Cawker City; Carl Suter of Beloit; six grandchildren ; and seven great grandchildren.

Wesley is preceded in death by his parents; brother Joe DePoy; and sister Carla Doxson.&nbsp;

Graveside service to be held on March 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cawker City Cemetery, Cawker City, Kansas.&nbsp;

Joyce Gorton February 24, 1945 ~ February 20, 2024

Joyce Gorton, age 78, died at her home with a heart filled with gratitude and love on February 20, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Ellsworth, Kansas, on February 24, 1945 to Henry (Hank) Hoffman and Helen (Branda) Hoffman.

Joyce attended grade school and graduated from Kanopolis High School in 1963. She continued her education at Kansas Wesleyan and graduated with a degree in Home Economics in 1967. She taught school in Wilson and Hays, Kansas, before moving back to Salina and working as head of the accounting department at Grain Belt Supply before retiring in 2006 after 30 years.

Joyce's love of music started at early age. At age 14 Joyce begin playing for the Kanopolis United Methodist church. She continued to take piano lessons her entire life from individual instructors to college professors at Ft. Hays State, Bethany, and most recently Kansas Wesleyan. She also traveled to Old Bennington, Vermont, each summer for a week long piano camp. Joyce played many years at University Methodist with Harry Huber, she also played at Trinity United Methodist, Sunrise Presbyterian, Russell United Methodist, Brookville United Methodist, Christ Cathedral and most recently at 1st United Methodist in Salina. She started there in October of 2020. The piano was her love.&nbsp;She enjoyed classical and sacred music and practiced daily. Her real love was accompanying the 1st United Methodist Choir and playing with organist Julie Tuttle. She was part of a group of pianist that met periodically from around the country on Zoom to share their talents. Joyce and Carolyn Hofer did an almost annual Christmas "house concert" at the Gorton home and often played at other venues together. Joyce, Carolyn and 3 other ladies led a successful campaign to purchase 2 new grand pianos for Kansas Wesleyan.

Joyce and Gordon met on a dating site, Yahoo Personals, in October of 2004. Joyce was the only person Gordon contacted. They soon discovered they had graduated from KWU together, knew each other but didn't date. They married in June of 2005. Gordon lived in Russell at the time and for a year they had an "interstate" marriage. They built a home in Russell together and enjoyed the hours of planting and landscaping. Joyce had a "green thumb" and loved planting, watching the seed grow and mature into a beautiful flower or garden vegetable. Their home is surrounded by flowers. They decided to move back to Salina in 2011 as Gordon was President of the alumni at KWU and they were in town often for alumni functions as well as enjoying the Salina Symphony and Theatre Salina performances. Gordon and Joyce both shared a love of cats and you will find Macro and Valentine running the house now. Joyce served as KWU Auxiliary Secretary/Treasurer, volunteer at Prairie Land Market and Salina Shares, was also on the Board of Directors of Tall Grass Women's retreat at Matfield Green. Joyce supported several students attending an Indian School in South Dakota and belonged to several national conservation and environmental groups. Joyce and Gordon spent hours on summer evenings sitting on their screened porch watching birds, squirrels, deer come to their feeders. Joyce was always grateful God had allowed her to watch another sunset. Last Fall Joyce received the KWU Alumni Service award for the year 2023! Gordon and Joyce share a common love for KWU as Gordon received the same award in 2019.

Joyce was buried in a private service. She chose a "natural or green" burial at the Heart Land Prairie Cemetery just west of Niles on the Niles Road. Like our forefathers her grave will become part of the prairie.

Joyce will be missed by many. Her engaging smile and aura brightened their day. Let her "little light" shine through you.

Joyce is survived by her husband Gordon of the home in Salina, a sister Eloise Ray of Boise, Idaho, brother Jeff Hoffman and wife Jody of Kanopolis, cousin David Branda of Goodland, her piano duet partner Carolyn Hofer, and many friends.

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM in the First United Methodist Church; 122 N. 8th, Salina, KS 67401. Memorials can be sent to the music ministry at First United Methodist Church; 122 N. 8th, Salina, Kansas 67401.

Royanne (Young) Larson March 16, 1938 ~ February 21, 2024

Royanne Larson&nbsp;was born on March 16, 1938, and passed away on February 21, 2024. She was born in Salina, the daughter of Wayne and Ailene Young. She was the oldest of 14 children.

Royanne and Harold (deceased) were married for 64 years. Together they have six children: Shelly, Julie, Cindy, Mike (deceased), Joe (deceased) and Dawn. She has 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family; she loved following her kids and grandkids around wherever they lived and traveled.

She worked as a bank teller, a clerk at the Salina Auto Auction, and was The Best Mom Ever. She taught Julie how to be an accountant. Royanne spent many years being an office manager for her sons, Joe and Mike, and her grandson Evan. She was always eager to assist her family with any and all paperwork; she kept everything together behind the scenes. She thought that she was the most boring person in the room, but yet everyone wanted to be around her.

Royanne was an avid reader of suspense and mystery novels. She always read the last few pages of every book before she even started the book.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 5-7pm at Ryan Mortuary. Services will be Monday, February 26, at 10:00 am, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.

David was a high school graduate and worked for many years at Great Plains Manufacturing.

He is survived by&nbsp;sons: Trent&nbsp;Schwantes&nbsp;of Lindsborg, KS, Casey&nbsp;Schwantes&nbsp;of Edwardsville, KS;&nbsp;daughter: Nikki Miles of&nbsp;Saina, KS; grandson:&nbsp;Breckin&nbsp;Eugene&nbsp;Jhamahl&nbsp;Schwantes; and his&nbsp;brother: Jim&nbsp;Schwantes.

Ronald Eugene Clarke July 25, 1939 ~ February 2, 2024

Ronald Eugene Clarke was a dedicated educator and coach who touched the lives of many students and athletes. He was born on July 25th, 1939, in Buhler, Kansas, where he grew up and graduated from high school in 1957. He pursued his passion for teaching at Hutchinson Community College and Bethany College, earning his degree in 1962. He was married in 1960 and has two sons, Timothy and Patrick.

His teaching career began at Riverside School, where he wore many hats: he was the principal, the teacher for all subjects in grades 6 to 8, and the coach for softball, basketball, and track. When Riverside closed, he moved to&nbsp;Smolan&nbsp;Schools as the principal and coach for basketball and track.

He then landed a job at Soderstrom Elementary School in Lindsborg, where he taught English, Reading, and History. He also took charge of the football team, the seventh-grade boys basketball team, and the track team.

After three years at Soderstrom, he made a bold move: he gave up football to start the girls’ volleyball program, which became his lifelong passion. He also coached the eighth-grade boys’ basketball and track for decades.

Towards the end of his teaching career, he focused on coaching girls’ volleyball, with a brief stint helping Russ Weibert with boys’ basketball.

After retirement, he enjoyed running the scoreboard for basketball and volleyball games, jumping on a train to visit his grandkids in California, carving Christmas ornaments for his loved ones, devouring Mystery and Western books, and visiting his friends and family.

Cremation has been chosen and memorial services will be&nbsp;held 2:00 p.m., Friday March 1st&nbsp;at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg.

Robert Wayne Srack, 75, of Bennington, Kansas, gained his angelic wings on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024 with his wife by his side.

Bob was born in Salina, Kansas on March 22, 1948, a son of Ruth A. (Travis) St. Clair and Leland M. Srack, Jr.He served in the United States Army Reserves and was an Ottawa County Undersheriff and business owner/entrepreneur.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Jan; sons, Tom (Nicolette), Aaron (Kim), Eric (Kerry); daughters, Crissy, Cari (Nick); grandchildren and great grandchild.

Bob is also survived by his sister, Ann (Bryce).

He was preceded in death by his parents and his baby brother, Mark.

Sonja Karin Smith, daughter of Fritjoff and Nendean (Stott) Mark, was born October 15, 1935, at McPherson Hospital in McPherson, Kansas.&nbsp; Sonja survived mastoid infections in the 5th&nbsp;and 6th&nbsp;grades and was sent to a children’s ward at Wesley Hospital in Wichita to receive penicillin treatments, as that medication was not available in McPherson.

Sonja attended Washington Elementary School and graduated in 1953 from McPherson Senior High School.&nbsp; She went on to McPherson College and graduated from there in 1957. She was an elementary school teacher.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sonja and sister, Inga, were baptized together by Rev. Walter Upton at the First Congregational Church chapel in McPherson.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sonja enjoyed roller skating and met her future husband at Petersons Roller Rink, rural McPherson.&nbsp; Paul and Sonja were married July 13, 1958, by Rev. Alfred Bartter at the First Congregational Church in McPherson.&nbsp; They went on a honeymoon trip, driving to San Francisco, California.&nbsp; Paul passed away on October 15, 2016.

Sonja enjoyed farm life, raising a garden, and canning.&nbsp; She was a member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans, and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, Sunday school teacher, and also played the piano, violin, and cello.

Sonja passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp; She was eighty-seven.

Survivors include son, Loren; daughter, Cara Dietterick and husband, John; grandsons, Maxfield Dietterick and Samel Dietterick; niece, Christine Langone; and step-niece, Debra Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Inga Lawrence.&nbsp;

Per Sonja’s wishes, there will be no service.&nbsp; The final resting place will be in McPherson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.&nbsp;

John attended school in LaRue County, Kentucky. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. John worked for Bennington Oil Co. Inc. and Farmway Coop before retiring in 2014. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and trustee. John was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 3201.

John and Sharie Zuker were united in marriage on May 6, 1977, in Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Justin Lee; and sister, Linda Sloan. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

He worked in carpentry and construction. He served in the United States Army Air National&nbsp;Guard. Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. He was very patriotic and appreciated his country.&nbsp;

Gary is survived by his mother Colleen, his son Zachery and wife Jamie, grandchildren Jayden, Natalie and Nikko, his brother Patrick and wife Zephyr, nephews Volt, Zap,&nbsp;Bas,&nbsp;and Cru. He was preceded&nbsp;in death by his father Dean Gill and his nephew Ocean Van Gill.&nbsp;

Elva Christine ‘Teen’ (Peterson) Krause passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2024. She was born November 1, 1930, in Enterprise, Dickinson County, Kansas to Martin Edward Arthur Peterson and Grace Esther (Picking) Peterson.Teena married Clyde Frank Krause in 1949. After spending time in Kansas City and Georgia, the family moved to Hutchinson, Kansas in 1959, where she lived for the next 65 years. They divorced in the early 1960s and she joined the workforce, starting as a gift-wrapper at Sears. She retired from Sears in the 1990s. From the time she moved to Hutchinson, she was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. She loved to travel, and she loved her family. Traveling with her sister, Leona, was one of her favorite pastimes. Together, they traveled all over the United States.She is survived by one sister, Mary Esther Bever, three of her children, including son Greggory Allen Krause of Hutchinson, daughter Susan Koren Burdick of Texas, and son Jeffrey Neil Krause of Hutchinson, grandchildren Rachel Ann Swartz (John) of Texas, Benjamin Paul Krause (Tara) of Texas, and Heather Donnell Madrigill (Ed) of Kansas City, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and life-long friends.She was proceeded in death by her parents, three sisters, Beverly Anne Krisher, Leona Ruth Blodgett, and Connie Marie Amburgy, son Martin Paul Krause, grandson Jeremy Allen Burdick, and great-grandson Lucas Aaron Swartz.Per Teena’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held 1:00 P.M., April 27th, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Enterprise, Kansas while the spring flowers are in bloom. Sheila Ann (Brown) Turner, 62, of Culver, Kansas, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Sunday, February 18th, 2024 with her husband, Gary, by her side. Even though our hearts are heavy with sadness that her time here on earth has ended, we have comfort knowing the Lord has called her home and she is no longer in pain.

Sheila was born in Lakewood, California on August 27, 1961, a daughter of the late Areta (Peebles) and Jimmy Brown.

On May 20, 2014, Sheila married Gary Turner and they lived in Salina, Kansas.

She was a waitress and loved getting to meet people. She was a very friendly and outgoing person and was always there to help anyone who needed it. Sheila loved playing games on her phone, talking to her friends, spending time with family and friends. Her animals were her babies and she loved them so much. Due to her declining health issues, she had to retire but never complained and just kept fighting.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Gary Turner; sons, Curtis Payne, Jr., Kerry Payne; grandchildren, Amelia Payne, Kody Payne; great grandchildren, Isabella "Izzy," and Kolbie; brother, Billy Brown (Sheena); aunts, Sharon Goode and Nana Payne; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, W.M. Peebles; grandmother, Melodese Peebles; and nephew, Dakota Brown.

She will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date in Bonham, Texas.

Gary will then bring her back to Salina, Kansas, where she will be buried.

She was a homemaker who also worked several part-time jobs over the years.&nbsp; One of those jobs was at the Wonder Bread Store where she met “that cocky young truck-driver” Roger Smart who drove for the Bread Store.&nbsp; He ended up being the love of her life and they married on March 24, 1978.&nbsp; Jan and Rog shared 35 wonderful years together before he passed away and she missed him tremendously.&nbsp; Jan would tell you that the most important job she ever had was raising kids and taking care of her family.&nbsp; Her kids couldn’t be more proud of the woman she was and are forever thankful they were lucky enough to have her for a Mom.&nbsp; Jan would tell everyone not to mourn her because she is finally with Rog. &nbsp;

Jan’s favorite past-times included bowling, playing softball, coaching her daughters (and many other “adopted” daughters) in softball, and planting flowers.&nbsp; In addition to those, her love of sewing turned into a love of quilting which lasted her entire lifetime.&nbsp; She thoroughly enjoyed passing that love to everyone – whether through teaching the art of quilting or through gifting a quilt.&nbsp; She even taught her daughters to quilt!

Loved family members left behind include son, Brett Sidles of Assaria, daughter, Jaelyn and husband Mike of Solomon, daughter Una Vincent of Salina; grandchildren Danielle and husband Dylan Schmidt, Dalton and wife Kara Ecton, Kinsey Ecton, Logan Ecton and partner Hannah Dautel; great-grandchildren Evan, Thea, Brexton, and Gavin Schmidt, Josie Barrow, Lucie Ecton.&nbsp; She is also survived by her sister Carol and husband Dave Siebert.&nbsp;

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Una Rinker, brothers Ronald and Keith and the love of her life, Roger.&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place and, per her wishes, there will not be a memorial service. &nbsp;

Cards to the family may be sent in care of Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp; Memorial contributions may be made to Salina Animal Shelter.

Olay Siyajuck, 71, of De Soto, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born in Vientiane, Laos to Phomalee and Boun Phonkhamlay on December 15, 1952. She married Sene Siyajuck in Laos. After spending multiple years in re-education camps in Laos, she then spent two years in immigration camps in Thailand as a displaced person. She immigrated to Modesto, CA as a refugee with her family. She then moved to Salina, KS in 1992, where she worked at Tony's Pizza Factory for 20 years, retiring in 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; and sons, Phoutavahn Siyajuck and Xaysana Siyajuck.&nbsp;

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Sene; children, Sooksavay Siyajuck of Overland Park, Thipmalay Lynn (Siyajuck) of Fort Campbell, KY,&nbsp; and Chantha Siyajuck of Lenexa; and her brother, Somnuk Phommanorat of Texas. She was Mathu to nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be at noon on Friday, February 23, 2024 followed by the ceremony at Ryan Mortuary, Salina with Buddhist Monks as celebrant. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, in Salina, at 2:30 p.m.&nbsp; After the burial a reception will be held at 4 p.m. at the Buddhist Temple of Salina.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Olay liked yellow flowers and they may be sent to Ryan Mortuary for the ceremony.&nbsp;

Betty Marie (Logan) Kerr July 2, 1947 ~ February 17, 2024

Betty Marie Kerr, 76, of Salina, Kansas, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2024. Born on July 2, 1947, in Clay Center, Kansas to James Floyd and Margaret (Stevenson) Logan, Betty lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and service.

Betty was a graduate of Clay County Community High School and furthered her education at Washburn University and Stormont Vail School of Nursing. Her lifelong dedication to nursing saw her caring for patients at St. John's Hospital, as well as the Penn and Santa Fe Campuses of SRHC, for over four decades. Betty's role as a nurse and supervisor was not merely a career but a calling, through which she nurtured countless lives with her expertise and kindness.

An active member of the Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Betty found joy in her faith and the fellowship of her church community. Her myriad of interests included gardening, sewing, crocheting, and engaging in various crafts. Adept with her hands, she created beauty and comfort, her handiwork a testament to her loving spirit. Betty was an avid puzzle solver and maintained a family calendar that kept her loved ones connected.

Surviving Betty is her devoted husband of 55 years, Maurice Kerr; her cherished daughters, Marci McCullough and Mindy Johnson; esteemed son-in-law, John Johnson; adored grandsons, Allen and Cameron Johnson; and a host of relatives and friends who were dear to her. Betty's legacy also extends to her unofficially adopted daughters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, niece Emily Kerr, father-in-law Melvin Kerr, and son-in-law Terry McCullough.

A service to honor Betty's life will take place at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Sunrise Presbyterian Church, 825 E. Beloit Ave., Salina, Kansas. The family suggests that memorials in Betty's name be directed to the American Cancer Society or Sunrise Presbyterian Church.

Betty Marie Kerr will be fondly remembered as a beacon of love and care, both within her family and the broader community. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the honor of sharing in her journey.
