
Richard Frank Eggers, 75, passed away at Sunset Home in Concordia, Kansas, on Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born on October 12, 1949 in Agra, Kansas to Edmond Frank and Betty Irene (Palmer) Eggers.
Richard attended Stockton High School in Stockton, Kansas, graduating in 1967. He studied diesel mechanics at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, KS.
While attending CCCC he met Linda Dusek. They married in 1971, and to this union three daughters were born, Lory, Holly, and Julie. They later divorced.
Richard worked for many years for the City of Belleville as a Municipal Power Plant Operator. He later worked for regional KDOT offices as an Equipment Operator, and retired in 2014.
Richard married Joyce Carter in 1999, where they lived in Ellsworth, Marquette and Salina, but later divorced.
He enjoyed all things horses: breeding registered American Quarter Horses and Paints, exhibiting in halter shows, and trail rides. He loved dancing, pie time at the Kravemore, Louis L’ Amour books, and cheering for K-State athletics.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Lory Allison (Lane) of Overland Park, KS, Holly Eggers of Belleville, KS, and Julie Kreiner (Nick) of Springfield, VA; granddaughters, Bethany Allison and Sydney Allison; siblings, Bob Eggers, Ron (Dana) Eggers, and Debbie Schellinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Betty Eggers, sister Shirley Desaire, and brother Terry Eggers.
A memorial service will be held at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with Samantha Stensaas serving as Celebrant. A private family burial will take place at the Belleville City Cemetery at a later date.
