
Anita Ann Shull, 88, of Salina, passed away on August 31, 2025. She was born in Gypsum, Kansas, on March 1, 1937, to David and Edna Mae (Elliott) Base.
Anita was a life-long member of the Salvation Army and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She worshiped at The Salvation Army for 50 years, serving as a Home League Secretary, League of Mercy Secretary, and Sunday school teacher. In her later years, Anita also attended the Salina Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She married James Shull on June 20, 1965, in Salina, and together they built a loving family. Anita cherished her family and the time they spent together. She also deeply valued her friendships and enjoyed crocheting.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, James Shull.
She is survived by her son, David Shull; daughter, JaNita Meyers; sisters, Elsie Clark and Mary Brewer; and brothers, David Donald Base and William H. Beardsley. Grandchildren James Shull, Joslynn Shull, Jonathan Shull, and Anjoelina Bonilla.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St., Salina. A funeral service will take place on Monday, September 8, at 10 a.m. at the Salvation Army, 1137 N Santa Fe Ave., Salina. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, 2020 E Iron Ave., Salina. A reception will be held at Salvation Army after Burial.
