
Alma L. Christenson, 97, Tescott, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born Alma Louise Wilson on January 11, 1928, to Ben and Cora (Dupes) Wilson.
She lived her life in Tescott and graduated from Tescott High School in 1947. She married Clyde Christenson on January 4, 1948. They were happy to celebrate 62 years of marriage before his death in 2010.
Alma always grew a large garden and raised baby chickens each spring. She was the secretary at the Tescott High School for many years. She also worked as the office clerk at the Tescott Cheese Company and was known as the “Tescott Cheese Lady.” Alma was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, their church council, and the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She and Clyde loved dancing with the Sunflower Polka Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; daughter, Cathy; siblings, Sidney, Averill, Laura, Gladys, Cora, Delia, and Marie.
Survivors are her children, Constance (David) Worley, Chris (Sheryl) Christenson, and Carma (Dave) Pauley; son-in-law, Dan Reavis; grandchildren, Amy (Dave) Smith, Matt (Sarah) Christenson, Sarah Reavis, Lisa (Andy) Kohn, Andrew (Ashley) Worley, Amanda (Merek) Holtzinger, Erin (Josh) Wood; and Kyle Pauley; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Julian, Hayden, Brooklyn, Blake, Ray, Jo, Tucker, Cameron, and Becca Spain (ward of Matt and Sarah; sister, Shirley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 10, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.
A celebration of Alma’s life will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 11, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tescott. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.
Memorials may be made to the Ottawa County Community Foundation or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
