&nbsp; The Reverend Dr. Kenneth Bruce Shultz, 83, of Wichita, KS stepped peacefully into Heaven on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Ken was born in Wichita, KS, the youngest of 11 children. He married Doris Ann Klassen at the ripe old age of 19. Together, they were wholeheartedly focused on sharing the Gospel and serving Christ wherever He would lead them - from leading Young Life clubs, organizing and participating in prayer breakfasts, leading Bible studies, serving as house parents for missionary kids in Zaire (now Congo), pastoring churches, leading discipleship groups, and then, in “retirement”, starting a mission organization in Romania. He chose (2 Cor. 5:14) “the love of Christ compels us…” to represent the mission of International Christian Enterprise (I.C.E.) and there’s no doubt that it was the theme of his life. When Doris fell ill with Parkinson’s, he served and cared for her tenderly until she preceded him in death six years ago. He is remembered by his children, not only for his passion for Christ and love of others, but for his fun sense of humor, his love of telling stories, his theological and current event discussions, and for making and consuming the best fudge. Jarold Otis Koehn

Lonny Nichols died Thursday, November 5, 2020 at St Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK due to COVID-19. He was born on November 12, 1941 in the family home in Clay County, KS. He was the second of three sons born to Lloyd and Edna (Bach) Nichols. He earned the nick name Toad as an infant and it stayed with him until death. &nbsp;

Toad attended rural schools in the Longford community and graduated from Longford High School in 1960. He married Carol Kinder (Kroshus) on February 19, 1971 at the Longford United Methodist Church and they made their home and raised their four children on a farm near Vine Creek, West of Longford. He was a mild mannered, soft spoken, kindhearted man with a twist of witty country humor.&nbsp; He was first a great dad dedicated to spending time with his children and family.&nbsp; He was also a farmer and rancher until 2014 when he and Carol retired and moved to Oologah, Oklahoma to be closer to family.

Toad grew up working on the Nichols farm with his parents and brothers and custom harvesting from Texas to Crosby, North Dakota where he met Carol, his wife of 48 years. During his childhood, the family added their first indoor bathroom and was one of the first homes in the area to receive rural electric service. He bought a Chevelle as a teenager and had a love of cars since then, going to car shows in California, Texas, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin while visiting his kids was a favorite pastime. He spent many hours washing and shining the wheels of his pickup once he moved to Oklahoma, where for the first time in his life he didn’t live on a gravel road. &nbsp;He served in the Clay Center National Guard and spent much of his life in a combine or on horseback, but his passion was spending time with his wife and kids. He enjoyed visiting about family history and could spend hours looking at his well-traveled, tattered, and torn road atlas, sharing photos of vacations, reminiscing and planning road trips.&nbsp; He enjoyed nature, wide open landscapes, hiking, white water rafting, fly fishing and exploring jeep trails on summer vacations to the mountains with his family. In his early years he was an avid, self-taught hunter and trapper and was able to fund his hobby with income from the sale of furs.

Toad spent most of his life within a short distance from the home he grew up in and was a servant son. He and his brothers spent their lives helping Lloyd and Edna with daily operations of farm life. Toad was readily available and took daily care of Lloyd after Edna passed.

He will be greatly missed every day until the family is together again.

Lonny was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Leo and wife Donna.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife Carol of the home, son Randy Kinder and wife Diana of Exeter, CA, his daughter, Melissa Stuczynski and husband Randy of Iola, WI, daughter Kimberly Hardin and husband Glenn of Oologah, OK and son Joshua Lonny Nichols and partner Aaron Plater of Monrovia, CA. He also leaves behind his younger brother, Loran James Nichols and wife Sharon of Longford. Grandchildren include Dane and Molly Kinder of Exeter, Megan and Ali Rass of Kaukauna, WI, Skee Hardin of Fort Worth, TX and Lily and Zeta Hardin of Oologah.&nbsp; Great grandchildren are Dylin, Bella and Aiden of Kaukauna and Emersyn and Hayzin Hardin of Fort Worth.

William “Duke” Bratton, age 84, of Council Grove, passed away November 5, 2020, after a three year battle with cancer.

He was born August 25, 1936 in Topeka, KS, the son of Cle and Bernice Bratton. He graduated from CGHS in 1954 and continued his education at Kansas State University, graduating in 1958, with a Business Degree. &nbsp;Duke married Kay Allen on February 12, 1959.

Duke opened and ran the Bowling Alley in Council Grove from 1958-1968. He was the City Clerk for the City of Council Grove for several years, before going to work for the Post Office.&nbsp; He retired in 1996, after 30 years of service.

Growing up Duke travelled the country with his parents shooting skeet.&nbsp; He was Runner Up National Champion in 1948, at the age of 12 and subsequently shot in 5 consecutive National Championships.

He was a member of the Council Grove Country Club for 63 years. He was the CGCC City Champion 13 times thru the years, battling for the title with many of his closest friends. Duke loved hunting, trapping and fishing. He enjoyed sharing his passion with others, volunteering with Hunter Safety Programs, sharing in classrooms, and especially spending many hours with his two grandchildren.

Duke loved music, especially Bluegrass.&nbsp; He and Kay took several trips to Branson, MO and Winfield, KS to festivals.&nbsp; He played many instruments by “ear” and self-taught himself to play the banjo. He also loved his K-State Wildcats!&nbsp; He and Kay held season tickets to the men’s and women’s basketball teams for several years…..and the TV was always on for KSU football and basketball.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Robert Sam Bratton; sister Barbara Bratton Harkness; and an infant granddaughter, Aimee Stone. Duke is survived by his loving wife, Kay; daughter Vicki Bratton Stone and husband John, all of Council Grove; grandson Tyler Stone, of Pittsburg; granddaughter Makayla Stone and fiance’ Jordon Foss, of Manhattan; and brother-in-law Larry Allen and wife Janet, of Lawrence; sister-in-law Alice Allen and brother-in-law Darrell Harkness and wife Norma, all of Council Grove.

Due to the Covid Pandemic, there will be a private family Celebration of Duke’s life.

Delbert Doran Anderson of White City, Kansas, died November 5, 2020.

He was born April 2, 1933 to Ingman and Inez Anderson in White City, Kansas on the family farm.

Delbert graduated from White City High School in 1951 and enlisted and served in the US Air Force.

Delbert married Erma Joan Hultgren of White City, Kansas June 6, 1954.&nbsp; After his military service they moved back to White City in 1956 to farm.&nbsp; He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and attended the Christian Church.&nbsp; He was a member of American Legion for over 60 years.&nbsp; He served on the Tri County Telephone Board for 10 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the Tri County Square Dance Club for 30 years.&nbsp;

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Ingman and Inez Anderson, his son Gregory Alan, brother Frank Anderson, and brother Ernest Anderson.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Erma Anderson, sister Lois (Bob)Williams, children Steven (Maridella) Anderson of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, Sondra (Lyle) Williamson of Valley Center, Kansas, Donald (Brenda) Anderson of Dwight, Kansas, Sylvia (Stan) Worcester of Castle Rock, Colorado, 12 grandchildren, &nbsp;10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.&nbsp; No visitation is allowed at this time because of Covid.

Delbert Doran Anderson of White City, Kansas, died November 5, 2020.He was born April 2, 1933 to Ingman and Inez Anderson in White City, Kansas on the family farm.Delbert graduated from White City High School in 1951 and enlisted and served in the US Air Force.Delbert married Erma Joan Hultgren of White City, Kansas June 6, 1954.&nbsp; After his military service they moved back to White City in 1956 to farm.&nbsp; He loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and attended the Christian Church.&nbsp; He was a member of American Legion for over 60 years.&nbsp; He served on the Tri County Telephone Board for 10 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the Tri County Square Dance Club for 30 years.&nbsp;Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Ingman and Inez Anderson, his son Gregory Alan, brother Frank Anderson, and brother Ernest Anderson.&nbsp; He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Erma Anderson, sister Lois (Bob)Williams, children Steven (Maridella) Anderson of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, Sondra (Lyle) Williamson of Valley Center, Kansas, Donald (Brenda) Anderson of Dwight, Kansas, Sylvia (Stan) Worcester of Castle Rock, Colorado, 12 grandchildren, &nbsp;10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.&nbsp; No visitation is allowed at this time because of Covid.

She lived there until April 1987 when she was moved to the Hartford Manor Training Center in Hartford, Kansas and was moved to Burlington.

SALINA -&nbsp;Bob Sparkspassed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, at the age of 91 years. He was born on a farm south of Oakley, KS, to A E. (Lon) and Ursel Morehous Sparks. The family moved to another farm near Oakley for six years, prior to moving to WaKeeney. Bob attended school there.

In 1948 he married Isobel Richardson. To this union a daughter, Vicki Lou, was born. Bob was active in a saddle club and loved riding horses. He owned and operated a cafe in Hill City, KS, prior to working in sales. In the late '60s he began buying and selling AKC puppies, which he did until 1992.

In 1977, he married Shirley Hutchison Drees, who helped in the puppy business. During the early years the couple began riding Honda GoldWing motorcycles. He served as the Chapter E Director of GWTA in Salina, moving on to Kansas State Director, Region E director, National Events Director, finally serving on the GWTA Board of Directors.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shirley; sister Betty Mai of Topeka; daughter Vicki Owens, of Kansas City; sons Marc Drees (Lynne), Moyock, NC, Brad Drees (Connie), Wellsville, KS, and Mitch Drees, Brookville, KS; grandchildren Shannon, Robin, Katina, Andrea, Victor, Elizabeth, Justin, Emma, Erin Tate, Riley, Keenan; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Bob in death were his parents, brothers Verlin, Gary and Virgil, sisters, Wyvohn and LaNeece, and a granddaughter, Amy.

She was born on August 1, 1925 in Leon Kansas to Perry and Fanny (Dixon) Strait. She married Max Stroda on December 27, 1945 at the St. Phillips Catholic Church in Hope. She was born on a hot summer day of August 1, 1925 on a farm northeast of Leon, KS. She joined her twin brother Frank and sister Frances who were nine years older. Joan enjoyed this life as her Grandmother Dixon lived close by along with her mother's sisters (aunts) and brothers (uncles). She was surrounded by family. Joan's young life on the family farm changed quite dramatically in 1929 when at the age of four, her mother died suddenly as a result of complications from a surgical procedure. The family continued to stay together on the farm during the Great Depression (1929-39) and the Dust Bowl (1930-36). In 1933 her brother and sister would attend El Dorado Junior College and at the age of eight she joined them so she could go to school in El Dorado. Her father would remain working on the farm. The following year she moved to Hutchinson to live with her Aunt and Uncle John Coleman and cousin Jack. Once her sister Frances finished her education, Joan moved back to the farm. Frances had obtained her first teaching position close by and Joan was reunited with her family. She remained on the farm enjoying life in the country until once again she moved. This time, at the age of 14, she would join her sister, Frances, who had a teaching position in the Hope School District. During those three years she was at Hope, she met the love of her life, Max, whose parents farmed in that community. It wasn't in the cards for her to remain in Hope though as she then followed her sister who acquired a teaching position at Shawnee Mission. There she finished her high school years. She had enough credits after her Junior year that she found that she could enroll at Kansas State University and get back somewhat closer to Hope and to Max. She attended one year at K-State before Max and her decided they wanted to get married, but the economy was just recovering from the Great Depression, Dust Bowl and World War II and money was tight. There was no money for the frivolous—the money went for necessities. Joan decided to move back to Hope where she rented a room from a lady and worked at the Herington Air Base. There she obtained a clerk position that assisted the soldiers in obtaining everything in the way of clothing and supplies they might need before being shipped overseas. On December 27, 1945 she was joined in holy matrimony to Max Stroda in Hope Kansas at the St. Phillips Catholic Church. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, Steve, Sherry, Linda, and Janet. They purchased a farmstead together north of Hope which became their life long endeavor. Joan was a stay at home mom who enjoyed the agricultural aspects of raising crops and cattle along with raising her children. She involved herself in community clubs, church organizations and 4H activities. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved hearing about all the activities her family were involved in. She was also the family patriarch who helped with many decisions and had many helpful ideas in sometimes “tough” situations.Joan enjoyed the out-of-doors and providing for her family. Her gardens always provided for the family and much of the summer everyone spent many hours assisting with the canning and processing food for the winter. The cellar was always filled with canned vegetables, fruits and beef. The Sundays were spent going to church as a family and spending time together. Her later years were spent helping Max with the farming and ranching along with assisting the children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. She loved being with Max and doing things together whether it was checking pastures, planting crops or riding along to pay a bill, they were inseparable until his death. In 2014, Joan moved to Hillsboro assisted living at Parkside Homes where she continued to enjoy visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Even though she never complained and was well cared for, she continued to miss their home on the farm. On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, Joan passed from this earth to be with her heavenly father, her lifetime partner Max, her family, and was reacquainted with her mother that was taken from her at a very young age. A private family burial, surrounded by her family that she loved so much and what kept her connected to see what each new day was to bring, was her request. Her final resting place will bring her back home to where she loved to be. The Pilgrim Cemetery is that place that overlooks all the dreams that Max and her started from scratch and to what they were so proud to have accomplished. Donald James Urbanek, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his home in rural Ellsworth. He was born October 27, 1939 in rural Ellsworth to James and Elsie (Belt) Urbanek.

Donnie married Sharon D. Hunter on April 28, 1962 at Excelsior Lutheran Church, rural Wilson.

A lifetime resident of Ellsworth County, Donnie was a heavy equipment operator for the Kansas Department of Transportation and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed music in general and guitar playing in particular, and loved playing and jamming with friends. Kansas Native American history was another of his interests, and he enjoyed being a member of the Ellsworth County Historical Society, volunteering his time as well as serving on the board.&nbsp;

Donnie is survived by daughters, Dawnae Bunch and husband Mike of Kanopolis and Deneen Urbanek and husband Bob Laubengayer of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; son, Westly Urbanek of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Bailey (Robbie) Dolezal, Samantha and Nick McMillin, Rory and Emma Laubengayer, and Cameron and Jimmie Urbanek; great grandchildren, Arianna McMillin Osburn, Kash Bunch, and Jett Dolezal.

A private family burial was held at Excelsior Lutheran Cemetery.

Chelsea N. Glavin, 19, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. She was born on August 16, 2001 in Salina, to Dustin E. and Tori N. (Trumpp) Glavin. She graduated Salina South High in 2020. She was currently attending Hutchinson Community College.

Survivors include her parents; siblings, Mason Glavin and Avah Glavin; grandparents, Pamela Glavin, Tammy and Jason Johnson, Dana and Laura Trumpp.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Terry Glavin.

Cindy J. Breault, 71, of Salina, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020. She was born October 26, 1949, in Concordia, to Leon C. and Ila J. (Huntsinger) Gennette. She married Daniel Lee Breault on February 21, 1970 in Concordia.

She attended Notre Dame High School in Concordia and graduated in 1967, she then moved to Salina. She worked as a telephone operator at Southwestern Bell for several years. After marrying Danny, they moved to Pensacola, FL and worked at Pizza Hut as an area manager and retired in 1995.

Survivors include her husband Danny, of the home; son, Trey Breault and wife Robin; daughter, Danielle and husband Trae Reames; brothers, Mike, Jack and wife Barb, Greg, Tom, Todd; sisters, Janice Gordon, Patty Davis, Debbie and husband Carl Sallman, and Susan Nemechek; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Formal services will be at a later date with a private family gathering planned.

Mary Frances “Frankie” Mesecher, 84, Minneapolis, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020 with her family at her side.&nbsp; Born at the Harrington family residence on Delia St. in Minneapolis to Timothy Frances and Mary Josephine Lynch Harrington, she was given the nickname "Frankie" which stayed with her for life.

The last of six children, Frankie was born when her mother was 42 years of age, she was her parents’ and her siblings’ "doll baby". Third generation American born of Irish immigrants from County Cork, Ireland, Frankie was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. The years spent in the Harrington home were filled with a steady stream of family, friends, priests, and nuns.

At the age of eighteen she met the man she would marry while cruising Santa Fe in Salina, Kansas with friends. Finding the Air Force soldier stationed at Smoky Hill Airbase extremely handsome, and overtly arrogant. Don Mesecher, who upon his proposal of marriage, was surprised when Frankie initially turned him down due to his not being Catholic. Frankie’s unceasing joy was the growing family she and Don raised. The parents of eight children, it was said you could tell when Frankie was expecting due to Don adding another addition onto the family home. The full embodiment of a true Irish Catholic woman, strong, loyal, faithful, and eternally witty.

She possessed a uniqueness within her that people were drawn to. Quick with a new (and at times inappropriate) joke, Frankie loved telling a good story, and was known to host a great happy hour if one happened to stop by at the right time.

Frankie became lifelong friends with nearly everyone she met, and truly didn't know a stranger, always had an extra potato in the pot for whomever was at her the door. A businesswoman with her sisters Gen and Addie, and her husband Don, they successfully operated three different restaurants in Minneapolis. From the Shamrock to the Cozy Cafe, and finally People's Cafe, customers gathered for their home-made fare, and possibly the antics that ensued at each establishment, especially on Saint Patrick's Day.&nbsp; Frankie and her family put on quite a celebration for St. Pat! She would be dressed from head to toe, proudly wearing the green...if she couldn't find green shoes, green house paint was applied!&nbsp; Irish music filled the air, as an Irish jig was performed by Rita Foster, "Danny Boy" sung by Dave Corman, and " My Wild Irish Rose" by Denny Foerschler, the townsfolk and the a few times even the Bishop of the Salina Diocese were treated with good ole Irish fare.&nbsp; Her contagious enthusiasm for her heritage makes one wonder what conversation ensued between Saint Patrick and Frankie upon their meeting. From her and Don's impromptu dances in their kitchen, to her marching down main street during a homecoming parade recognizing past MHS cheerleaders, everything she did was done with great happiness, and sometimes hilarious results. During that particular parade, Frankie's exuberant hello to parade onlookers caused her top denture to fly out of her mouth and onto the street. Her "marching" turned into more of a cadence of step and kick as she pushed her teeth down the street, determined not to cause a scene.

Frankie's life was filled with many "you won't believe this" moments and some truly side-splitting stories. As the matriarch of the family, Frankie's compassion and enthusiasm for life will forever be engraved in the hearts and souls of her family and friends.

She joins her loving husband, Don; her infant babies; son Mark; daughter Jo; and all her departed family and friends in heaven.

Those who await a joyful reunion with her and our Savior are her children, Michael, Shell, and Mitch; her grandsons, Mark, Daniel, Corey, Zach, and Josh; granddaughters, Dawn, and Kelsey; great-grandsons, Xander, Jhett, and Connor; great-granddaughters, Jordan, Emma, and Aubrey; daughter-in-law, Shannon Platt; sister-in-law, Beverly Mesecher Stoke; numerous nieces and nephews; and a community of wonderful and lifelong friends.

&nbsp; Marty Dale Koehn, 61, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 5:45 p.m., Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020 unexpectedly, at McPherson Hospital. Marty was born in McPherson, Kansas on April 29, 1959, a son of Mary Lou (Bonjour) Petersen, and Willard Duane Koehn. Marty was born with mental disabilities and he spent his youth in Topeka at the KNI facility where they were able to work with him on his speech, motor skills, and daily living techniques. He moved to Newton, Kansas for several years before returning to McPherson and joined the MCDS family. Marty enjoyed eating, drinking Pepsi, loved Christmas, always had something in his hand, and loved being with his family. He is survived by his mother, Mary Petersen, of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings, Mark D. Koehn, of McPherson, Kansas, Monty D. Koehn and wife Lori, of McPherson, Kansas, Mike D. Koehn and wife Lisa, of McPherson, Kansas and Sandy Unruh and husband Mark, of McPherson, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and his MCDS family. &nbsp; Karin Kathleen Ward (Burdick), of Abilene, age 79, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 1, 2020 with her family, at home, in Abilene, Kansas. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Abilene with Father Don Zimmerman as Celebrant. A parish rosary lead by Daughters of Isabella (D of I) will be Monday evening at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church at 6:30 p.m. The family will be receiving visitor’s from 5:00-6:15pm and after the rosary until 7:30pm. Monday evening at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall. Karin's final resting place will be at the Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery. She was born May 29, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Henry A. and Delores F. (Lavery) Burdick. Karin grew up in Wichita, Kansas graduating from the all-girls catholic school at Kapaun-Mt. Carmel High School in 1960. On July 16, 1960 she married Wayne Robert Ward at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Wichita. Karin and Wayne were blessed to spend the first 15 years of their marriage before their first of two children were born. In 1969 they moved to Abilene and in 1976 God gave them their first blessing, Julia Ann Ward and their second, Lucille Ellen Ward 1978. Karin greatest love was taking care of her home, family and selflessly volunteering to many, many organizations including: Neighbor to Neighbor, St. Andrews Church and School (the annual Ham Loaf dinner and the annual Catholic Church Auction), Catholic Religious Education and CYO, Adoration, Board of the American Red Cross, SCARC-Bingo in Salina, Special Olympics in Salina, was President of Altar Society, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Head of Heart Fun Drive. She also managed the Webster Apartments her and Wayne owned in the 1960’s in Junction City, Kansas, was a swimming instructor in Abilene and taught special needs children to swim, the director of the Heart Fund in Abilene, a member of the Daughters of Isabella (D of I), served on a team for Cursillo, worked on the their family greyhound farm, attend the March for Life 6 times, helped sponsor St. Therese’s radio 106.5, she was her sister’s Barbie and Mary’s night companion during their time of need. Karin loved spending time with her family and friends, playing bridge, swimming, cooking, gardening, knitting and crocheting, reading, camping, boating, Greyhound Races, traveling, and meeting new people (I don’t know that she knew a stranger)! She is survived by her daughters Julia Ward-Veal and her husband Mitchell, and Lucille "Luci" of Abilene, grandchildren Alexandra Veal, Zachary Veal, Shyann Scoville-Ward, Clayton Veal, Jonathan Veal, two great grandchildren Brody Veal and Tycen Veal. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Wayne on April 8, 2007, sisters Gretchen McDonough, Mary Morgan, Barbara Sperry, and her brother (Tony) Henry Anthony Burdick, III. Robert Earl "Bob" Summers, 76, of Salina, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020.

Bob was born February 15, 1944 to Ernest and Ruth Summers and raised in Salina, KS. Once graduating from Salina High School in 1962, he joined the Army Reserves and served for 6 years. He worked for Yellow Cab, and Food 4 Less where he became the dairy manager for over 35 years.

Bob was known for his love of baseball and football! He would often take his kids to a Royals baseball game at least once every season! He would also make sure the kids tagged along with him to all the old car shows in Salina! He loved peanut butter sandwiches and candy! He was a hard worker and loved his kids and adored his grandkids and great-grandkids! Once he retired, his days were filled with morning McDonald's coffee, sports, TV Land and Me TV.

He is survived by his children, Kevin (Amber) Summers, Michelle (Tony) Newell, and Amanda (Kevin) Wilson; grandchildren, Megan, Kiera, Kyle, Brinley, Trinity, and (step) Kemper; great-grandchildren, Dawson, (step) Bryson, and Jaxson; brothers, Tom, Larry, and David; sister, Doris; along with several nieces, nephews, and other loved family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Ruth Summers; and grandson, Marcus Graham.

Because of recent health concerns, a celebration of life will be planned for a later date in 2021. We will have a follow up listing on service arrangements as they become available.

 </figure>Robert Earl "Bob" Summers, 76, of Salina, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020.Bob was born February 15, 1944 to Ernest and Ruth Summers and raised in Salina, KS. Once graduating from Salina High School in 1962, he joined the Army Reserves and served for 6 years. He worked for Yellow Cab, and Food 4 Less where he became the dairy manager for over 35 years.Bob was known for his love of baseball and football! He would often take his kids to a Royals baseball game at least once every season! He would also make sure the kids tagged along with him to all the old car shows in Salina! He loved peanut butter sandwiches and candy! He was a hard worker and loved his kids and adored his grandkids and great-grandkids! Robert Earl "Bob" Summers

Paul Eugene Burt&nbsp;passed away peacefully in his sleep November 3, 2020. Paul was born May 7, 1947 to Merle and Florence Burt. Paul worked for many years at Great Plains, Collins Bus, and his own business, American Fire and Engine. Paul was one of the kindest men you had ever met, who gave love to all and expected nothing in return except a smile when you passed him by.

He was a foster parent for thirty years, leaving behind so many people who he considered family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Carolyn, whom he loved deeply for over 41 years. His children were his proudest achievement, all moving on to create wonderful lives for themselves and allowing him to be part of it. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life, every single one of them carrying with them a special bond that would never break. He was the man who taught them what a man should be, how to treat people, how to treat your family, and how to live a life you are proud of. Paul was loved by all, remembered as the kindest soul, and will be forever missed.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Billy Robert, Verley and Laverna, children; Carol Lee Ryder, Becky Ferguson, Shanne Jonte, Connie Rodriguez, and grandchild Journi Maas.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Burt; children Stephani Greytak and husband Larry: Kelly Burt and wife Allig Staci Ellison and husband Todd, Scott Maas, Jason Maas and wife Andrea, Adam Burt, Chastity Burt, Roberta Cart; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be a celebration of life next summer where the family invites all friends to join with them.

After a long battle with Alzheimer's,&nbsp;Larry Keith Lucas&nbsp;passed away, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in Salina, KS. He was born October 1, 1950. He is preceded in death by his mother Mildred Meadows Lucas, his grandparents Ann and Oscar Meadows, and cousin Othello Meadows, Jr.

Larry attended Central High School in Salina and graduated from Emporia State College. While in Salina he took dance lessons from Bessie Caldwell, and later moved to Los Angeles, CA. He lived in Los Angeles many years and worked as a dancer before moving back to Salina.

He is survived by cousins, Linda Meadows Camarena and Gail Meadows Livingstone of San Francisco, CA, and a host of cousins and friends.

A private Inurnment will be held at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center for the care they gave to Larry Keith Lucas.

James William Dickerman, 77, passed away on Nov. 3, 2020 at his home with his wife at his side. He was born Sept. 7, 1943 in Salina, KS. to Don and Esther Dickerman.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and two nephews.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Kathryn; a sister, Josephine Pfannenstiel, Las Vegas; sons, Kenneth J. Dickerman, Sebastian, FL, and James D. Martin (Teresa), Covington, TN; grandchildren, Aaron, Aden and Amanda Dickerman, and Abigail Martin and Samantha Collier (John) of Tennessee; brother in law, Kenneth B. Parson (Vicki), Salina, and many nieces and nephews.

Jim loved Christian music and in his younger years enjoyed singing country gospel hymns when requested by church members. We are sure he has joined a heavenly choir.

A private graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020 in the Gypsum Hill Cemetery with Rev. J.J. Sexton officiating. Friends are invited to call at the Ryan Mortuary the hour prior to the graveside.

Memorials are suggested to Interim Hospice or Village Bible Church.

On May 15, 1971, Phyllis married Dennis Boos at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, Kansas. Survivors include her husband, Dennis of the home; daughter, Tammy Tompkins, (Mike), of Wichita, Kansas; three sons, Russell Boos, Rodney Boos, John Paul Boos, all of Salina, Kansas; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and her beloved Kitty. She is preceded in death by her brother, Larry "Butch" Jellison; sister, Barbara Runyon; beloved dog, Jackson. Cremation has been chosen. Evadne J. Tuxhorn, 89, of Salina passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Pinnacle Park in Salina. She was born March 19, 1931 in Thayer, KS to the late Alvin W. and Evelyn (Whitmore) Burton.  

She is survived by her sons: Wade Tuxhorn (Dorene) and Ross Tuxhorn (Brenda); daughter: Willa Jo Glassburn (Gene); grandchildren: Regina Prothro (J.R.), Fawn Albers (Tim), Ariel Glassburn (Sean), Joy Leeds (Greg), and Ben Tuxhorn (Ashley); adopted grandson: Larry “Beethoven” Conroy; and great-grandchildren: Trent Prothro; Colton Prothro; Drake Clark, Tyler Clark, Kyle Albers, James Albers, and Oliver Tuxhorn.

Evadne is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 5 from 5-7PM at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.

Evadne J. Tuxhorn

&nbsp; Kimberly Thurston, 50 of Abilene, formerly of Michigan passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her home. She was born January 23, 1970 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Leroy and Nancy (Dye) Thurston. 

Kim worked various jobs, most recently at Chamber of Commerce and the Abilene Reflector. 

She is survived by her fiance, Alan Bynum. Her two sons, Alex Tucker of Oregon and Davis Thurston of Abilene. One daughter, Hannah Immenschuh and husband Joseph of Junction City. Two brothers, Michael Thurston and Brian Thurston. One sister, Pamela Aument. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
