Obituary | Terry Seyfert of Beloit, Kansas | Roberts Family Funeral Service (mcdonaldrobertsfuneralservice.com)

November 12, 1951 - March 10, 2021

Terry Seyfert was born in Salina, Kansas on November 12th, 1951 to Gene and Catherine Seyfert.    He grew up as a farm boy in Hunter, Kansas and was the only boy in a house with four sisters. Terry loved to coyote hunt with his dad.

He graduated from Sylvan Unified High School in 1969. He received a degree in diesel mechanics in 1971 from the Beloit Vocational Technical School.  Out of school, he worked for Moritz Implement, in Beloit until 1976. During this time, he also drove the school bus where he earned his CDL.  From there, he became a truck driver for Farmway CO-OP for 18 years.  After leaving Farmway, Terry was a long-haul truck driver for another 27 years.  Within those 27 years he worked for TNT Dugan, CHS, Old Dominion and Marzolf Trucking.

In 1973, he met Julie Mall.  They were married on April 5, 1975.  Together they had two boys, Jeremy, and Casey.  As a family, they enjoyed camping and boating at the lake every weekend. He shared his childhood love of coyote hunting where many memories were made. Terry was always there to support the boys in their activities. Even if that meant driving his truck to the events.

Terry was adored by his seven grandchildren. He always greeted them with a nickname and a smile.  Together they created memories that will last a lifetime.

He loved the open road in his truck and on his motorcycle.  He always had a garden and could be found tinkering in his shed where he was either fixing or building something.  He never met a stranger.  While drinking coffee with his buddies at Casey’s General Store, he would greet everyone who walked into the store, whether he knew them or not, with his smile and a “how ‘ya doin’?”

He was an amazing man with a heart of gold.  He was a blessing to all those who knew him and loved him.  We will forever be thankful for the time that we had with him.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Gene and sister Shirley Beuerlein.

He is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Julie, sons Jeremy (Beth) of Luling, LA and Casey (Amanda) of Beloit; his mother Catherine of Hunter and sisters Janice (Nick) Kastner of Wichita, Sharon (Larry) Dohe of Vesper, and Cherie (Jason) Nelssen of Beloit.  He leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren: Grady, Tatum, Crosby, Slade and Sloan of Beloit and Reiley and Gage of Luling, LA, as well as numerous friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, March 15 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the USD 273 Educational Foundation.
