Richard Louis Worley, 94, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Village Manor in Abilene.

Born May 25, 1927, in Concordia, Kan., he was the son of Hugh and Millie (Daniel) Worley. He grew up on the farm in rural Formoso in Jewell County, attended a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Formoso High School. Even though he was valedictorian of his class, he did not attend graduation ceremonies because he had enlisted in the U.S. Navy and already was in boot camp, preparing to enter World War II when peace was declared.

He served on the troop ship the USS General J.C. Breckinridge in the Pacific Theatre following the end of World War II. He started officer training at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., but the end of World War II meant fewer officers were needed.

After being discharged from the Navy he attended and graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan where he obtained a degree from the college of agriculture. He made his career in ag lending and banking, primarily working for the Federal Land Bank Association of Wichita, serving as president of the Herington branch office which later was moved to Abilene in 1969.

After leaving the Federal Land Bank he obtained a realtor and broker's license and operated Worley Realty in Abilene in the 1980s. He then became a vice president at the Bank of Herington in 1984, before moving to Osborne where he and his wife Mary owned and operated Midland Business Products with stores in Osborne and Mankato. He also was a Xerox marketing representative.

After retirement he became an account representative for the Kansas Senior Times, a publication for older, active adults. In 2007, he and Mary moved back to Abilene where he shared his love of history by working for the Dickinson County Historical Society.

As a young man, flying was his passion so he earned his private pilot's license and eventually owned two planes. His favorite was a Cessna 140 taildragger.

In 1958, he married Mary Catherine Pfeifer in Ellis, Kansas. They had three children, Kathy, Dale and Daniel. Over the years, they made their home in Herington, Abilene and Osborne. Mary preceded him in death in November 2007.

Survivors include daughter Kathy Hageman (Gary) of Abilene; sons Dale Worley of Abilene and Daniel Worley (Lisette) of Osborne; grandchildren Josh Worley (Lindy) of Osborne, Sasha Schultze (Clayton) of Osborne, Julia Worley of Manhattan, Erik Hageman of Topeka, Kelsey (Andrew) Clarke of Beloit, Raegan (Phill) Shamburg of Salina and Madison (Bobby) Bliss of Downs; 11 great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for Richard at 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Martin Becker Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW 3rd, Abilene. Cremation has taken place. 

Memorials are suggested to the Dickinson County Historical Society or Hospice of Dickinson County and may be dropped off or sent to the funeral home.

Charles R. Tingler, 80, of Salina, passed away Friday, July 16. 2021. &nbsp;He was born February 1, 1941, in Sutton, West Virginia.

Following his enlistment in the Army, Charles worked for the Geary County Sheriff Dept. in Junction City.&nbsp; In 1991, Charles moved to Salina and was hired at Schwan’s Pizza Plant, where he worked in the shipping department for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles T., and Nellie A. Tingler, his beloved wife Sylvia M. (Johnson) Tingler, his sisters Annabelle, Onalee and June, and brother Roy Tingler.

Survivors include his children Nellie Tingler and her significant other Brandon Nash of Salina, son Charles Tingler, Jr. of Lawrence, sister Nelva J. Paul, and sister-in-law Christy Price of Salina, seven grandchildren, Shianne, Skyler, Sasha, Malik, Arielle, Stefan and DaeLynn, and one great-grandchild, Emma.

Per Charles’ request there will be no services.&nbsp; Burial will take place at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Manhattan.

Phyllis Jeanne Kronmiller, 91, died July 18, 2021. She was born October 4, 1929, the daughter of Loren and Clesta (Payne) Cline in Bennington, Ks, where she grew up and graduated from Bennington High and was a “Homecoming Queen”. &nbsp;She married Kenneth Charles Kronmiller in 1953.

She is preceded in death by her husband, “Kenny”, and a sister, Carol Lunblad.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Don) Fiske, Truckee, CA; sons, Mike (Tammy) Kronmiller, Arkansas City, Kurt Kronmiller (companion, Belinda Baxter), Salina, Kevin (Shawna) Kronmiller, Salina,&nbsp; Mark S. (Brenda) Kronmiller, rural Salina and a younger sister, Shirley (Jerald) Peterson, Salina. Hillsboro - Charles (Chuck) L. Abrahams was born to Curtis and Anna (Dalke) Abrahams on November 18, 1934, welcomed by his older siblings Verna, Norman and Raymond. Chuck graduated from Hillsboro High School. Chuck enlisted in the Army Reserves on August 17, 1957 as a private. He was honorably discharged from the Army of the United States on April 15, 1963 as a corporal.

Chuck married Genevieve (Genny) Winter on December 2, 1960 in the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Chuck and Genny’s first home was a trailer house in Hillsboro. In 1963 their son Brad was born. Five years later Brad welcomed his sister Marci to the family. After living in several different houses they settled into a home on Lincoln Street where they lived for nearly 45 years before residing at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

Chuck worked a variety of jobs including a milk route, parts manager at Irv Schroeder Motors, and as a salesman for Bowman. 

The majority of Chuck’s adult career was spent delivering mail for the U.S. Postal Service. Regardless of the weather, Chuck would walk a 12-mile route, five days a week without a complaint. He enjoyed walking his route, dressed as Santa Claus every December 24. Chuck ended his career working at Circle D into his late 70s.

His hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting and old cars. 

Chuck would do anything for anyone but his #1 passion was his grandkids – Brady, Derek, Brandi and Maci. He loved supporting them at their events. Chuck also enjoyed his woodworking shop. Some of the items he made included: banks out of post office boxes, sequence games, infant cradles, rocking horses, time out benches, and grandfather clocks.

Chuck definitely knew his Lord personally and showed God’s love by caring, giving and through his gentle, kind heart. He was one patient soul!

Homemade ice cream on Sundays was a given. Chuck also loved to grill. At Bethesda, Chuck could be found at his computer playing Solitaire (which he called Solitary), snacking on M and Ms.

Chuck passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021 at Bethesda Home in Goessel. 

Celebration of Life is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro officiated by Pastor Tom Harder. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Church on Thursday. 

Family asks that everyone where a mask due to COVID-19. 

Chuck is survived by his brother-in-law Vernon Winter and wife Janice, his son Brad and wife Rose, daughter Marci Heidebrecht and husband Ron, six grandchildren: Bret Nichols (Brogan); Kaci Nichols, Brady Abrahams (Audrey), Derek Kelsey, Brandi Abrahams (Caio), Maci Welker (Ryan), and four great-grandchildren: Lane Phillips, Tatum Nichols, Grace Welker and Peyton Abrahams.

Ronald Albert Payne, 89, of Formoso, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021, at the Jewell Co. Hospital in Mankato, Kansas.

He was born August 15, 1931, to A.C. “Bert” and Vivian (Dyas) Payne, on the family farm four miles south of Formoso. He graduated from Formoso High School in 1949. Ronald spent time farming with his dad until he entered the United States Army in 1951. After returning home from France and leaving the service, he resumed farming, which was a love that he devoted his life to.

In 1958, he married the love of his life, Iva Lea Mullins, in Burr Oak, Kansas. They were blessed with three children, and farmed together for the next 63 years.

Ronald was a faithful Christian and longtime member of the Formoso Community Church, serving as a member on the board for many years.

Farming was a career that he truly enjoyed every day. Over the years, he raised many crops, as well as cattle and pigs. He proudly passed along the enjoyment of farming to his son, but all of his children inherited his hard work ethic by watching their dad. Over the years, Ronald developed a talent for woodworking, and was always looking for his next project. Many of his items were made for family and friends.

Ronald’s quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles to all who knew him, most describing him as ornery. He was always there quickly to lend a helping hand to anyone without hesitation.

Family was most important to him, and he was happiest when everyone was together. He enjoyed all the activities his children and grandchildren were in. He was one you could always find on the floor playing tractors with little ones, and loving on the family pets.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and his three sisters and their husbands; Carol and LaVerne Stansbury, Dorothy and Milford Johnson, and Inez and Vernon Quy, as well as an infant brother.

After returning home from France and leaving the service, he resumed farming, which was a love that he devoted his life to.In 1958, he married the love of his life, Iva Lea Mullins, in Burr Oak, Kansas. They were blessed with three children, and farmed together for the next 63 years.Ronald was a faithful Christian and longtime member of the Formoso Community Church, serving as a member on the board for many years.Farming was a career that he truly enjoyed every day. Over the years, he raised many crops, as well as cattle and pigs. He proudly passed along the enjoyment of farming to his son, but all of his children inherited his hard work ethic by watching their dad. Over the years, Ronald developed a talent for woodworking, and was always looking for his next project. Many of his items were made for family and friends.Ronald’s quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles to all who knew him, most describing him as ornery. He was always there quickly to lend a helping hand to anyone without hesitation.Family was most important to him, and he was happiest when everyone was together. He enjoyed all the activities his children and grandchildren were in. Charles taught science and driver’s education in Florence, Marion and Goddard, Kansas. He was a farmer/rancher and a real estate broker. He attended Eastmoor United Methodist, was a member of Lions Club, National Board of Realtors and Marion Advancement Campaign. He enjoyed playing cards and billiards. Most of all he loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events.

His loving family includes his wife Linda of the home; sons and their wives Dirk and Tonya Kannady of Haysville, Kansas, Eric and Lindsay Kannady of Manhattan, Dax and Emily Kannady of Pilsen; brother Jimmy Kannady of Valley Center; sister Teresa Kannady of Benton, Kansas; three grandchildren, Rylie, Avery and Gage Kannady.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister Cynthia Kannady. Charles passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the age of 76 years old.

His family will gather at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion on Tuesday, July 20, from 5-7 p.m. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Eastmoor United Methodist Church, 105 Eastmoor Drive, Marion.

He graduated from Concordia High School in 1957.&nbsp; He graduated from Washburn University with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1961.

He owned and operated Christensen Oil and Champlin Tire Recycling.&nbsp;

Ron was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was a charter member of Mid-America Tire Dealers Association, where he served as past president.&nbsp; Ron received their highest award given, which was Service To The Industry Award. In 1989 then Governor Mike Hayden appointed Ron to the Solid Waste and Recycling Commission.&nbsp; He was a Boy Scout Troop Master for 10 years.&nbsp; Ron also mentored several young men through the Concordia Big Brothers Big Sisters.

He married Susan M. Whiteman on May 7, 1961 in Topeka, KS. &nbsp;She preceded him on June 22, 2008.

Ron was a outdoorsmen, he had his own apple orchard, enjoyed gardening, traveling on many occasions all around the world especially with his grandchildren at his side on many vacation trips. Ron was also a cattleman where he enjoyed being outdoors running his ranching operation.

He is survived by three sons, Gary Champlin (Debra), Bennington, KS; David Champlin and Corey Champlin (Angela) all of Concordia; special friend Judy Kircher, Concordia, KS; brothers Dr. Bruce Champlin (Margie), Surprise, AZ; Keith Christensen, Salina and step-brother, Damon Christensen (Laura), Concordia; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother-in-law David Whiteman, Concordia.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susan; son Shaun; grandson Scott Champlin; parents Robert Champlin (Pauline) and Mildred Christensen (Chris); brother Robert “Bob” Champlin; sister Ivona Kemp and step-brother Loren Christensen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Wesleyan Church, Concordia, Kansas, with Pastors David Redmond and Bob Burns officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.&nbsp;

Randy was the proud father to three children, Bridget Johnston, Bryan Tate, and Aaron Tate and grandfather to four grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Randy was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Nathan Tate; stepfather Warren Taylor; paternal grandparents Lewis and Thelma Tate; Maternal grandparents Andy and Minnie Hoard; brother Curtis Tate, Stepsister Georgie Taylor, and stepbrother Tom Taylor.

His siblings Max Tate, Brenda Marcotte, Dedra Landon, and Willie Taylor all survive, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Randy enjoyed a busy life collecting antique clocks, woodworking, and spending time with his friends and family. &nbsp; He was loved deeply by the family of Kyle and Jenny Williams and their four children, to which he was a devoted friend and family member.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Phelps Funeral Home in Miltonvale, Kansas.

He enjoyed computers, developed and started an internet radio station called “Nighthawk Radio” which is now owned and operated by others.

He was preceded in death by his father Ronnie Mack Moncrief Sr. in 1996. Ronnie passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas.

His loving family includes his wife Teresa Stepherson of Herington; three children of the home, Sevana, Brianna, and Ronnie all of Herington; mother Martha Eleanor Taylor of Savannah, Georgia; and brothers Robert Moncrief and Ryan Moncrief (Melissa) all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Reagan Moncrief (Shannon) of Savannah, Georgia.

Dona “Jane” was born on April 10, 1933, the daughter of Dwight Custer and Mable Pearl (Jones) Stevens in Satanta, Kansas. She graduated from Florence High Class of 1951 and married Earl Russell Mann on June 23, 1951, in the Florence United Methodist Church.

Jane was vice president of a jewelry company based in Chicago. She enjoyed designing jewelry for 25 years, including for the Miss Kansas and Miss America Pageants. For 28 years she held her realtor and real estate broker licenses. She was a member of Unity Church and the Association of Realtors and was listed in the Who’s Who for Women in Business directory. In her younger days she worked at the soda fountain at the drug store in Florence. She also rode horses and participated in parades, was a drum major and also a band majorette. She enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, crocheting, crossword puzzles, traveling, playing cards, sewing, selling real estate and jewelry. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and would attend as many of their events as she could.

Her loving family includes her children Nedra (William) Olenick of Halstead, Doug (Vici) Mann, Darla Diamond, Don (Angel) Mann all of Wichita; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Earl in 2015; sister Esther Sinclair; brother Dewy Stevens; and her beloved dog, Mr. Angel. Jane passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the age of 88 years old.

Her family will gather with friends on Thursday, July 22, from 5-7 p.m. at Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, 205 Elm Street, Marion, Kansas. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m. (early viewing at 10:00 a.m.) at Ridgepoint Church, 8000 W. 21st, Wichita, Kansas 67205.

Brenda Lee Rupert, 44, of Marquette passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in Salina, with family by her side.  Brenda was born April 19, 1977 in Salina to Randy and Sharon Lister. 

    Brenda grew up in Washington and always spoke of how much she loved her home state. She enjoyed running with her family, playing saxophone in the band, and being on the cheerleading squad. Brenda graduated high school in Kansas and attended college. 

She married David Weber on November 4, 1995 in Delphos, and they had three children. Brenda married Mitch Rupert on May 5, 2005 in Estes Park, CO. 

She worked as a para educator for Smoky Valley High School for over 15 years. During that time she had the opportunity to touch many people's lives, being a friend, mentor, and teacher. She considered all her students "her kids." Brenda participated in many activities and functions and loved being a cheerleading coach at SVHS. 

    Her biggest joy was her family and grandchildren and she leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Her kids and grandbabies made her shine like the star she was. It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle to cancer because she never stopped fighting. Through her, we know what true resilience and perseverance look like. Brenda was truly one of a kind and will be missed by everyone she knew. 

    She is survived by her husband Mitch, of the home;  daughters Madi Weber of Salina and Kati Yates (Gary) of Salina; son Bradyn Weber (Taylor) of Junction City, KS;  parents Randy and Sharon Lister of Delphos;  sisters Angela Sidener (Jeff) of Spokane, WA and Jen Bowen (Jeremy) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren Carter and Asher Yates, and Nash Weber; and niece Peyton Bowen; her chihuahuas Elly and Daisy, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

    Brenda was preceded in death by her stillborn son Colby James Rupert; cousin Charlie Palmer; paternal grandparents; and close friend Glenda Flora and her son Ethan Flora.

    Cremation has been chosen.  A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, with Pastor Jon Fillipi officiating. Reception to follow at the American Legion in Lindsborg.

Dale George Grothusen, 101, originally of Ellsworth, died December 7, 2020 in Salina. He was born December 17, 1918 on a farm in Ellsworth County to William and Christine (Strella) Grothusen. He was a farmer and stockman, retiring in 2003.

When he was eight, the family moved to a farm northeast of Ellsworth, which was to be his home for nearly the remainder of his life. At that time the farmhouse had few comforts and no indoor plumbing, which he later added among other household additions and improvements throughout his life. He attended Ellsworth public schools.

He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He was a waist gunner and engineer on a B-17 bomber, flying 51 missions over northern Italy, Austria, Hungary, Rumania, Yugoslavia, Germany, and France. His crew flew out of Amendola Air Field near Foggia, Italy. In later years he reunited with surviving crew members to reminisce. He traveled to the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC on an Honor Flight, in recognition of his military service.

Dale married another Ellsworth County native, Dorothy Neuschafer, on June 30, 1945 on Mercer Island near Seattle, WA. Following his discharge from the service that year, they returned to the family farm where he took over the wheat farming operation from his parents. He took well-deserved pride in improving the land through soil cultivation and conservation, while also tending his herd of Herefords. During his early years of farming and raising cattle, he also worked part-time for Cities Service Gas Company and for Ellsworth Township as a trustee and road maintenance worker.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ellsworth, where he also served as a church elder, VFW Post 6485, and American Legion Post 174, all of Ellsworth. He was a long-time blood donor. He and Dorothy enjoyed playing pinochle with their card club friends for many years, visiting their grown children, and traveling to Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) and Germany. In later years they continued their lifetime enjoyment of polka music and dancing, traveling to polka fests in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, and Arizona.

Dale will be remembered for his love for his family and the land he farmed, his sunny disposition, his warm sense of humor, his generosity to others, and his ability to build, redesign, or repair just about anything he needed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Ralph, Lloyd, and Jack, and sister Dorothy Remley. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his daughters Marsha Drebelbis (James) and Ruth Obadal (Charles Hammonds) and son William H.G. Brooks (Richard Black), and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

At Dale’s request, his body will be donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center for education and research. Burial of the remains will be at Ellsworth Cemetery.

Dale’s memorial service was delayed because of the pandemic. 

It will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. Courtesy masks requested by the family. Military funeral rites will take place at Ellsworth Memorial Cemetery following the service. A reception and light refreshment will follow at the church.

She was a homemaker, raising four children before becoming the deputy county clerk for Ellsworth County and the Ellsworth County treasurer. She was a member of the Ellsworth First United Methodist Church and a past member of the Ellsworth County Historical Society.

Paula is survived by her daughter Cherie Sauers (Marty) of Kanopolis; sons Ed Schneider (Geneva), James Schneider, and Randy Schneider (Melissa) all of Kanopolis; 12&nbsp;grandchildren and 19&nbsp;great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Edward Marvin Schneider.

Sister Ramona Medina died July 16, 2021, at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia, KS.&nbsp; She was 84 years old and a religious sister for 66 years.&nbsp; She was born in La Jara, CO on March 14, 1937, to Juan and Celina Romero Medina, the thirteenth of fourteen children, and was baptized Elvira Elidia.&nbsp; She entered the Atchison Benedictine Order in 1955, then transferred to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, KS on December 21, 1980.&nbsp; On December 11, 1955, Elvira received the habit and was given the name Sister Ramona. &nbsp;She kept this name when she transferred to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia, KS.&nbsp; She pronounced first vows on December 16, 1956 and final vows on January 1, 1959.

Sister Ramona received a BS in education in 1970 from Mt. St. Scholastica College, Atchison, KS. &nbsp;In 1983 she received a BS in occupational therapy from the University of Kansas.&nbsp; Sister Ramona worked as an occupational therapist in Shawnee Mission, Kansas City, Onaga, Ellsworth and McPherson, KS and in Lakeland, FL.&nbsp; She was elected to the Leadership Council of the Congregation in 1999 and served for eight years as a regional coordinator.&nbsp; In 2009 she co-founded the Neighbor to Neighbor ministry in Concordia, KS.

Sister Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.&nbsp; She is survived by two sisters, S. Celinda Medina of Atchison and S. Rebecca Medina of Framingham, MA; and one brother, Luis of Monte Vista, CO.&nbsp; 

A Bible Vigil Service will be held July 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel with Sister Judy Stephens as the eulogist.&nbsp; The Mass of Christian Burial will be July 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel, Father Barry Brinkman presiding.&nbsp;

&nbsp;If you have not been fully vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask and social distance out of consideration for those who are immunocompromised.&nbsp; 

The burial will be in the Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery.&nbsp;

 </figure><a href="https://www.chaputbuoy.com/obituary/sr-ramona-medina">Obituary | Sister Ramona Medina of Concordia, Kansas | Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home (chaputbuoy.com)</a>March 14, 1937 - July 16, 2021Sister Ramona Medina died July 16, 2021, at Nazareth Motherhouse in Concordia, KS.&nbsp; She was 84 years old and a religious sister for 66 years.&nbsp; She was born in La Jara, CO on March 14, 1937, to Juan and Celina Romero Medina, the thirteenth of fourteen children, and was baptized Elvira Elidia.&nbsp; She entered the Atchison Benedictine Order in 1955, then transferred to the Sisters of St. Joseph, Concordia, KS on December 21, 1980.&nbsp; On December 11, 1955, Elvira received the habit and was given the name Sister Ramona. &nbsp;She kept this name when she transferred to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia, KS.&nbsp; She pronounced first vows on December 16, 1956 and final vows on January 1, 1959.Sister Ramona received a BS in education in 1970 from Mt. St. Scholastica College, Atchison, KS. &nbsp;In 1983 she received a BS in occupational therapy from the University of Kansas.&nbsp; Sister Ramona worked as an occupational therapist in Shawnee Mission, Kansas City, Onaga, Ellsworth and McPherson, KS and in Lakeland, FL.&nbsp; She was elected to the Leadership Council of the Congregation in 1999 and served for eight years as a regional coordinator.&nbsp; In 2009 she co-founded the Neighbor to Neighbor ministry in Concordia, KS.Sister Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and six sisters.&nbsp; She is survived by two sisters, S. Celinda Medina of Atchison and S. Rebecca Medina of Framingham, MA; and one brother, Luis of Monte Vista, CO.&nbsp; A Bible Vigil Service will be held July 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Nazareth Motherhouse Chapel with Sister Judy Stephens as the eulogist.&nbsp; The Mass of Christian Burial will be July 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the Motherhouse Chapel, Father Barry Brinkman presiding.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you have not been fully vaccinated, we ask that you wear a mask and social distance out of consideration for those who are immunocompromised.&nbsp; The burial will be in the Nazareth Motherhouse Cemetery.&nbsp; Chaput Buoy Mortuary, 325 W. 6th&nbsp;St., Concordia, KS is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp; Memorials for Sister Ramona Medina may be given to the Sisters of St. Joseph Health Care/Retirement Fund or the Apostolic Works of the Sisters, P.O Box 279, Concordia, KS&nbsp; 66901.&nbsp; For online condolences, please visit&nbsp;<a href="http://www.chaputbuoy.com/">www.chaputbuoy.com</a>.

Normann L. Burwell, 90, passed away July 17, 2021. He was born July 20, 1930 at Manhattan, KS, the son of Walter and Lillian Burwell. He graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1948. On August 16, 1964 he married Genevieve Anguiano. 

He is survived by his wife of the home, son David Cress (Dee), daughter Liz Alvarez (Mark Larson), three granddaughters, Caitlin Wallace (Grant), Becca Fritch (Garrett) and Karli Alvarez, one great-granddaughter Metilda Marie Wallace. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Perry Donald Burwell and sister Lucille Burwell Norris. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021 at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Peter O’Donnell as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Abilene. Parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Danner Funeral Home. Family will receive friends following. 

The family suggests memorials be given to the St. Andrews Catholic Church or to St. Andrews Catholic School. Memorials may be dropped off or mailed to Danner Funeral Home, 501 N. Buckeye, Abilene, Kansas 67410.
