
A Memorial Service for Paula S. (Bruning) Keffeler will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Sylvia High Karlsson officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Paula Sue Keffeler, 52 years of age, of Holdrege, died on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska following a courageous battle with cancer. Paula was born on February 11, 1969, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, the fourth of five children, born to Dalbert and Karen (Bolte) Bruning. She received her education from Herndon, Kansas Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1987. Paula was active in high school with Cheerleading and Dance. Paula then pursued higher education from McCook Community College with an Associates of Science. She then went on to receive a degree in Radiologic Technology from Fort Hayes State University in Hays, Kansas.
On August 26, 1995, Paula was united in marriage to Bryan Keffeler at the Immanuel United Christian Church in Herndon. To this union, they were blessed with two children: Katelyn and Brayden. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Paula was employed at Phelps Memorial Hospital as a Radiologic Technologist, Sonographer, and Mammographer, for 28 years. On August 26, 2020, Paula and Bryan celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Paula enjoyed singing, crafting, gardening, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family. Together, the family loved to craft and enjoyed their vacations to the beach. Above all, Paula loved being a mom. She has left a tremendous legacy of love to her husband, children, family, and friends.
She was a member of Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church in Holdrege, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and the Nebraska Society of Radiologic Technologists.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Dalbert and Karen (Bolte) Bruning.
Paula leaves to mourn her passing; her husband, Bryan Keffeler of Holdrege; her children: Katelyn and Brayden Keffeler of Holdrege; her siblings: Donna Weeks and her husband, Rick of Cawker City, Kansas; Kim Dempewolf and her husband, Steve of Colby, Kansas; Roy Bruning and his wife, Teresa of Atwood, Kansas; and Kristin Grafel and her husband, Kurt of Natoma, Kansas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jake and Phyllis Keffeler of Sturgis, South Dakota; two brothers-in-law: Troy Keffeler and his wife, Christi; and Kurt Keffeler and his wife, Kamette all of Sturgis; along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial book signing will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Paula’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
