Shirley A. Chermak, daughter of Edward Kolman and Amelia (Havel) Kolman was born November 24, 1936 at Cuba, Kansas and passed away on August 13, 2021 at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS at the age of 84.
Shirley attended White Rural School and graduated from Cuba High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Harry E. Chermak on August 30, 1964 and to this union, five children were born, Harry James, Kerby, Timothy, Andrew, Ritchie.
She was a stay at home mom until the boys were grown and then she worked in the dietary unit at the Heartland Care Center and then as the dietary manager at the Republic County Hospital for a total of 20 years. She worked hard and her family was her job. She was a perfect wife and loved by many.
She was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church, Munden, KS, SCCW and FSCLA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Amelia Kolman, two sons, Timothy and Kerby, brother Donald, and sister Pauline.
She is survived by her husband Harry E. Chermak of Belleville, KS, three sons, Harry J. Chermak of Burlingame, KS, Andy (Danette) Chermak of Hutchinson, KS, Ritchie (Teresa) Chermak of Brookville, KS, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, St. George’s Catholic Church, Munden, KS, conducted by Rev. Henry Baxa.
Interment will be in St. George’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Munden, KS.
Vigil/rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Bachelor-Surber Memorial Chapel, Belleville, KS.
Memorials may be given to the Shirley A. Chermak Memorial Fund.
Friends may call on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.
