Sandra Lynn Fisher, passed away on July 10, 2024.

Sandra was born to Eugene and Betty (Cobb) Moravec, in Salina, KS, on August 9, 1958.

A graduate of Salina South High School, Sandra was a hard worker. She enjoyed her job at Sears in the shipping and receiving department.

She could always spot a good deal and loved to go to garage sales and flea markets. In addition to her luck at these sales, she also liked to try her luck at playing bingo.

Sandra was an animal lover, and adored her cats, Tux, Hook and BJ, who she referred to as her babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roxanne Henley / Haggard, Eugene Moravec JR., Christopher Moravec, Bonnie Olsen, and Joe Cobb.

She is survived by Ericka Henley, Ayrea Lemon, Jaydann Lemon, Anthony Bishop, Willie Henley, Kobie Henley, Kyesha Thomas, Prince Thomas, Mike, Tony, David, John, and Mark Moravec, and many more nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, July 19th, 2024, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 2078 E Iron Ave, Salina, KS 67401. Memorials can be made to the family, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th Street, Salina, KS 67401.

Penny Jo Post passed away July 10th, 2024 at the age of 65 at her daughters home in Missouri after a 4 year battle with Cancer. Naomi Elizabeth Haunschild, 75, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 14th, 2024.

Beth was born in Salina, Kansas on July 6, 1949, a daughter of Lois Lurene (Strait) and Glenn Jacob Deckert.

She worked at Sam’s Club for 10+ years and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Westfall, Kansas.

Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Koster, of Cawker City, Kansas; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Beth is also survived by her sisters, Kady Fischer (Dennis), of Westfall, Kansas, Thresa Dewhirst, of Salina; and her brother, Scott Deckert (Karen), of Tescott, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Haunschild; brother, Dee Deckert; brother-in-law, Marty Dewhirst; sons, Robert Oliver and James "Jim" Jacob; and nephew, Shawn Deckert.

Beth’s wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned.

Jacqueline Dee "Jackie" Tolbert, 76, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 14th, 2024.

Jackie was born in Emporia, Kansas on March 12, 1948, a daughter of Phyllis D. (Hufferd) and Leonard Arthur Harriman.

On June 27, 1981, Jackie married Randy Tolbert in Emporia.

Jackie worked several administrative positions with the State of Kansas, including Emporia State, Wichita State, and Kansas State in Salina. She earned several awards while working in these positions. If someone needed something, they could always count on Jackie T.

Her main passion in life was her family and friends. Attending her grandkids activities was her absolute favorite thing to do. She always wanted everyone she came across, to feel special and loved. Jackie was the most giving person you could meet. If she met you once, she considered you a friend and would do anything for you.

She had decorations for every holiday imaginable. The day after Thanksgiving always included homemade turkey pot pie and her kids and grandkids climbing up into the attic to haul out the decorations for her to begin creating a Christmas Wonderland.

She loved feeding people, baking, The Game Show Network, soap operas, gift giving, casinos, the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, the Salina Liberty, and Cheetos.

Survivors include her three daughters, Jennifer Main (Dan), Ashley Hanson (Matt), Angie Stauffer (Brian), all of Salina, Kansas; grandchildren, Alec (Brianna), Courtney (Brooks), Drew, Austin, Caden, Reagan; great granddaughters, Mila, Zoe; and her fur baby, Presley the Yorkie-Poo.

Jackie is also survived by her sister, Carol Miller, of Emporia, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Randy Tolbert; brothers, Terry Harriman, Rusty Harriman; and son, Dustin.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 19th at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina with Pastor Derek Birney officiating. Jacqueline Dee "Jackie" Tolbert

Wilma June "Willie" Wohler, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 11th at Reflections Retirement Resort in Salina, Kansas.

Wilma was born on June 15th, 1937 in Rural Severy, Kansas to June Elizabeth Wade.

Wilma worked at Tony's Pizza in Salina, Kansas, where she eventually retired and began running her County Line Kennel for approximately 10 years in rural Saline County near Glendale, Kansas.

Some of Wilma’s hobbies were gardening, spending time outdoors, and caring for all birds. She loved flowers and being in her yard. She also loved dogs, especially Yorkies.

Wilma enjoyed going to church when she could and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Salina. One of Wilma’s favorite sayings was, “Smile til you’re happy and keep it up.”

Wilma is survived by her sisters, JoAnn Unruh, Sheryl Smoot, Shirley Boulanger, and Debbie Magvire; brother, Jim Bowen; sons, Leonard Donaldson (Gayla) of Assaria, Kansas, and Clint Donaldson (Shelley) of Kansas City, Missouri; and daughter, Tami Jensen of Brookville, Kansas. Wilma is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.

Wilma is preceded in death by her infant son, Kyle; mother, June Elizabeth Wade; daughter, Dallas Riedel; and sister, Sue.

A celebration of life will be held August 10th at 11:00 AM at Grace Baptist Church in Salina, Kansas.

David Allen Metzger, 64, of Belleville, IL, born February 15, 1960, in Salina, KS, died Friday, July 12, 2024, at his residence.

Dave was a 26-year United States Air Force veteran. He served in the Heartland of America band at Offutt Air Force base, Nebraska, the US Air Force Band of the Pacific at Yakota Air Force base, Japan, the Band of Mid America at Scott Air Force base, Illinois, and a deployment on the USNS Comfort Hospital Ship. After his Air Force retirement, he played many woodwind instruments in the Edwardsville Municipal band, the University City band, and many small bands.

He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Metzger; and his mother, Patricia, nee Davis, Metzger.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Denise, nee Aills, Metzger, whom he married on May 2, 1981;&nbsp;daughter, Michelle Wright (Matt Vigil);&nbsp;son, Steven Metzger (Erica Metzger);&nbsp;grandson, Caden Wright;&nbsp;little brother, Brian Metzger;&nbsp;big brother, Randy Metzger;&nbsp;and his stepmother, Shirley Metzger.

David Allen Metzger

Lucile Marie (Keller) Clark was the 3rd daughter born to Henry &amp; Maude (Bassett) Keller, on September 17th, 1932, in rural Lebanon, KS. She passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2024, at 7:07 p.m. surrounded by her loving family.

Lucile grew up in the Odessa area, attending Esbon School and graduating in 1950. Lucile married her high school sweetheart, Edward Lewis Clark on December 24th, 1950. They spent a year in Hastings, NE before moving to a farm south of Lebanon where their five children were raised, Debra Beth, Dennis Edward, Shelly Jo, Randy Charles, and Douglas Robert.

In 1965 Lucile started work at the Jewell County Courthouse and was elected as the Jewell County Clerk from 1971-1975. She was an avid gardener. She loved her Iris beds and planted a huge vegetable garden every year, much to the dismay of her children. She was also passionate about sewing, making all her daughters’ dresses while they were growing up and she even made Shelly’s wedding dress along with all the bridesmaids’ dresses.

In 1975 Lucile &amp; Ed moved to Esbon to their new home. They went to harvest and custom combined for 14 years. In the winter Lucile would work at Esbon Schools as a school “lunch lady”. Lucile also worked as a CNA in Mankato and Smith Center hospitals and nursing facilities, retiring when she was 80! Her love of sewing continued throughout her lifetime and through her late 80’s and into her 90’s she completed over 3,000 “t-shirt” diapers for babies in Zambia. She loved making tie blankets as well, and made sure her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and all the fur babies had at least one, if not multiples!

Lucile was also the local Avon lady for over 45 years, making friends all over the counties. Her home was full of Avon treasures, and she always had a gift for anyone that stopped in.

Her greatest love and joy were her grandchildren. She attended all their sporting events that she could and always had a snickers to hand out after the games. She kept all the newspaper clippings and programs from all the grandkids’ games and events. She cherished her little ones and as they grew older, there was always a new baby to hold and hug.

Every Labor Day all her kids, grandkids, and great-grands that could, traveled to her for the fun-filled holiday weekend. She loved hosting the entire family and always planned the Sunday picnic to host extended family as well! The littles and bigs will really miss this fun weekend.

Lucile’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She had an endless love for feeding all and knew exactly what you liked and would have it ready for when you arrived. As we mourn Lucile, let us celebrate the light she brought into the world and the countless lives she touched. May her memories continue to inspire us all to show the love we have for one another. Lucile's memory will forever live on in the hearts and stomachs of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Lucile was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Audrey Young and Joyce Ritter, her husband, Edward in 1991; her first-born son, Dennis Edward in 2015; and her first-born grandson, Tate Edward Findley in 1978.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Burr Oak Community Church with Lance McDowell officiating.  </figure>Lucile Marie (Keller) Clark was the 3rd daughter born to Henry &amp; Maude (Bassett) Keller, on September 17th, 1932, in rural Lebanon, KS. She passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2024, at 7:07 p.m. surrounded by her loving family.Lucile grew up in the Odessa area, attending Esbon School and graduating in 1950. Lucile married her high school sweetheart, Edward Lewis Clark on December 24th, 1950. They spent a year in Hastings, NE before moving to a farm south of Lebanon where their five children were raised, Debra Beth, Dennis Edward, Shelly Jo, Randy Charles, and Douglas Robert.In 1965 Lucile started work at the Jewell County Courthouse and was elected as the Jewell County Clerk from 1971-1975. She was an avid gardener. She loved her Iris beds and planted a huge vegetable garden every year, much to the dismay of her children. She was also passionate about sewing, making all her daughters’ dresses while they were growing up and she even made Shelly’s wedding dress along with all the bridesmaids’ dresses.In 1975 Lucile &amp; Ed moved to Esbon to their new home. They went to harvest and custom combined for 14 years. In the winter Lucile would work at Esbon Schools as a school “lunch lady”. Lucile also worked as a CNA in Mankato and Smith Center hospitals and nursing facilities, retiring when she was 80! Her love of sewing continued throughout her lifetime and through her late 80’s and into her 90’s she completed over 3,000 “t-shirt” diapers for babies in Zambia. She loved making tie blankets as well, and made sure her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and all the fur babies had at least one, if not multiples!Lucile was also the local Avon lady for over 45 years, making friends all over the counties. Her home was full of Avon treasures, and she always had a gift for anyone that stopped in.Her greatest love and joy were her grandchildren. She attended all their sporting events that she could and always had a snickers to hand out after the games. She kept all the newspaper clippings and programs from all the grandkids’ games and events. She cherished her little ones and as they grew older, there was always a new baby to hold and hug.Every Labor Day all her kids, grandkids, and great-grands that could, traveled to her for the fun-filled holiday weekend. She loved hosting the entire family and always planned the Sunday picnic to host extended family as well! The littles and bigs will really miss this fun weekend.Lucile’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She had an endless love for feeding all and knew exactly what you liked and would have it ready for when you arrived. As we mourn Lucile, let us celebrate the light she brought into the world and the countless lives she touched. May her memories continue to inspire us all to show the love we have for one another. Lucile's memory will forever live on in the hearts and stomachs of her family and friends. After high school graduation Ray started his career as a electrician with Whitehead Electric in Abilene until he partnered with Loyd Rose in Loyd Rose Electric in 1961 and after Loyd retired, partnered with Loyd's son, Greg, until Ray's retirement in 2001. He was a member of Emmanuel church, Abilene and Gideons International. His favorite hobby was riding his motorcycle. People who knew him will remember his passion for going for motorcycle rides and people would only see Sharon behind Ray two or three times holding on as tight as she could.

While he was still working and continuing into his retirement Ray could be found drinking his diet Dr. Pepper at the now closed West Stop always saying hi to all of the customers.

Ray was preceded in death by his father Marshall Vernon Darling and mother Dora (Sexton) Darling as well as his brother Coe Darling and sister Rowena (Darling) Hanback.

Ray is survived by his wife of 68 years Sharon (Bezdek) Darling, and three sons Wesley (Dawne) Darling, Abilene, Kendall Darling, Kansas City, MO, Randall (Terri) Darling, Topeka, KS, five grandchilden, Brek (Christina) Darling, Travis (Maria) Darling, Heather (Zack) O'Gorman, Cody Darling, Rachel Darling, 3 great granddaughters Mackenzie, Morgan, Reagan O'Gorman and 5 step great grandchildren, Eli, Austin, Kinsley, Jackson and Sam.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 18th at Martin-Becker-Carlson in Abilene. Dusty Lee Murray, 61, of Salina, Kan., passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was born on October 30, 1962, in Pawhuska, Okla., to Walter and Grace (Clark) Murray.

Dusty grew up in Oklahoma and worked for many years as an oil rig roughneck. He was a proud member of the Kaw Nation and loved OU football and spending time with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joe, Dan, and Vincent Murray and Tonya Gepher.

Survivors include his children, Janna Murray (Dustin Smith) and Dustin Murray; mother of his children, Barbara Hart (Rick); grandkids, Tre Kremeire, Shadrick Murray, and Isabella Smith; sister, Linda Pontious; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina. Burial will be at a later date at the Washunga Cemetery, NewKirk, Okla.

Joan (Blasi) Kelley, born May 30, 1939, was wife, mother, sister, friend. She passed away on July 9, 2024. Joanie was a small but mighty woman who loved her Church, her family and her friends. She never knew a stranger.

Joanie is preceded in death by her parents and 15 beloved brothers and sisters. She leaves behind her husband of 65 years Jack Kelley; her children Victoria, Kathleen (Tom), Bill (Nichole), and Shawn (Marla); Grandchildren Kellen, Brittany (Brandon), McKenzie (Cameron), Paige (Adam) and Carlie (Thomas); Great-Grandchildren, Blake, Breckyn and Graham, and her brother Paul.

Barbara Joan Short&nbsp;passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024 and joins her husband Jerry and her daughter Kristy at home with her Heavenly Father. Barbara was born on October 29, 1945 in Canton OH-the firstborn of Dr. Joseph and Barbara O’Grady. She was a redheaded spitfire from day one, the oldest of five O’Grady kids. Her family moved often and she grew up in Ohio, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas and Kansas. She graduated from Halstead High in 1963.

Barbara met Jerry Short at church in Halstead, they fell in love and were married Feb 1, 1969. Jerry's 36-year career at Buick led to Barbara moving frequently, including a relocation to Houston shortly after their marriage.&nbsp; She gave birth to three daughters while in Houston and assumed the role of housewife and mother.&nbsp; And what a mother she was- she led Girl Scouts, coached sports she knew little about, and centered her entire world around her girls and their happiness and wellbeing.&nbsp; She and Jerry raised their family in Texas, Colorado, Michigan, Georgia and eventually back to Kansas.&nbsp; Along the way, she made so many friends and spearheaded a myriad of adventures.

Barbara was a woman deeply committed to serving and she volunteered with countless organizations over the years, gladly sharing her time, treasures and talents. Her faith carried her through every day of her life. She loved her friends in Salina with whom she quilted and played Bunco. She cherished her role as “Na” to 8 grandchildren the past 26 years.&nbsp; Barbara was a die hard sports fan and loved her KU Basketball and Denver Broncos, as well as being the #1 (and loudest!!) fan at all of her kids and grandkids games. The family would like to apologize to any officials she may have given an earful to over the years. &nbsp;

Barbara battled Parkinson’s for almost 10 years, stubbornly refusing to give up on how she wanted to live her life and fighting tooth and nail right up to the end for her independence. As that fire red hair turned to gray, Barb’s spirit never faltered and she continued to bring smiles and laughter to everyone with whom she came in contact.

She is survived by daughters, Cindy (Steve) of Kapaa HI and Petey of Salina, grandchildren Stephani, Janessa, Haley, Casey, Cole, Avery, Addison and Abbie, her sister Kathy Sheehan (AZ) and brother John (VA) and countless friends.&nbsp; She will be deeply missed for her sense of humor, her spunk and independence.

Saundra Lola Trocheck

Warren Ervin McConnell, 89, Salina, passed away on July 8, 2024, at Salina Regional Health Center with his family by his side.  He was born on November 9, 1934, in Haileyville, Oklahoma to William Warren McConnell and Zelma (Allen) McConnell. His stepmother was Neva (Walford) McConnell. 

 He married Patricia Ann Bahr on October 6, 1959.He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged with the rank of “Sergeant”. He was a police officer for the City of Hoisington for 13 years as a Captain.   He was a postal worker for 38 years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was Grand Knight &amp; District Deputy.  He was a volunteer for the Hoisington Fire Department for over 25 years.  He was a Hunter Safety Instructor for 20 years. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother; wife, Patricia McConnell; half-brothers; Warren Lee, Samuel, Kenneth McConnell, and Harley English and brother-in-law; Tom Call. 

Survivors include children, Edwinda (Wayne) Day, Weldon (Karla) McConnell, Jan (Jody) Pfannenstiel, and Renee (Scott) Suppes; seven grandchildren, Miranda Flores, Kristen Flores and Erica (Robert) Harford, Dr. Sarah (Nate) Thomas, Nathan McConnell, Lauren Suppes and MaKayla Suppes; sisters-in-law, Luella Call, Rita Bahr, Jenelda Moore, and Frances Dietz; great-grandchildren, Dakotah and Colton Harlin, John, Matthew, Kallie, Lucas and Brook Harford; half-brothers and half- sisters, Paula Shelly, Frances, Forest and Kathy English and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hoisington, celebrated by Father Warren Stecklein.  Knights of Columbus rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m.   Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery following the ceremony.

He married Patricia Ann Bahr on October 6, 1959.He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged with the rank of “Sergeant”. He was a police officer for the City of Hoisington for 13 years as a Captain. He was a postal worker for 38 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was Grand Knight &amp; District Deputy. He was a volunteer for the Hoisington Fire Department for over 25 years. He was a Hunter Safety Instructor for 20 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother; wife, Patricia McConnell; half-brothers; Warren Lee, Samuel, Kenneth McConnell, and Harley English and brother-in-law; Tom Call. Survivors include children, Edwinda (Wayne) Day, Weldon (Karla) McConnell, Jan (Jody) Pfannenstiel, and Renee (Scott) Suppes; seven grandchildren, Miranda Flores, Kristen Flores and Erica (Robert) Harford, Dr. Sarah (Nate) Thomas, Nathan McConnell, Lauren Suppes and MaKayla Suppes; sisters-in-law, Luella Call, Rita Bahr, Jenelda Moore, and Frances Dietz; great-grandchildren, Dakotah and Colton Harlin, John, Matthew, Kallie, Lucas and Brook Harford; half-brothers and half- sisters, Paula Shelly, Frances, Forest and Kathy English and many nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hoisington, celebrated by Father Warren Stecklein. Terence “Terry” Kay Vrbas, 72, of Mankato, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kansas. He was the youngest child of nine, born to James and Genevieve (Heble) Vrbas in Atwood, Kansas on September 10, 1951.

Terry grew up in Atwood and graduated from Atwood High School in **. He went on to attend Manhattan Technical College earning a degree in Computer Science. He was a jack of all trades and has worked as a bricklayer, carpenter, electrician, plumber, and most recently, in the office at the Jewell County Hospital. 

He married Donna Rahe in Atwood, Kansas on June 16, 1978. This union brought two sons, Tyson and Travis. 

Terry was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mankato. He enjoyed sports, especially the Denver Broncos. He liked hunting, fishing, woodworking, grilling, and just sitting on the patio with his wife, Donna. He was described as a Mr. Fix-it, strong, loving, funny, ornery, caring, and very open with his opinions. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Genevieve Vrbas; brothers, Gene Vrbas, Bob Vrbas, Jimmy Vrbas, Jerry Vrbas, and Mickey Vrbas.

He will be missed by his wife, Donna, of Mankato, KS; sons, Tyson Vrbas (Erica), of Manhattan, KS, and Travis Vrbas (Beth), of Phillipsburg, KS; grandchildren, Blake Vrbas, Tyler Vrbas, Sophia Riffel, Kaycee Vrbas, Kyla Vrbas, and Lucas Vrbas; siblings, Tom Vrbas, Carolyn Rachac, and Cathy Lippold.

Terence “Terry” Kay Vrbas

Norman Clinton Greene was born in rural Beverly Kansas on October 6, 1930 to Niles and Mary Chilcott Greene. He passed away on July 9, 2024 at the age of 93.

Norman wed Mary Ann Jarvis on October 28, 1951. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2000, 9 days before their 49th wedding anniversary. Together they had four children, Steven, Shirley, Susan, and Scott. Norm was united in marriage to Doris Winkel Slate on December 16, 2002 and their encore love story brought so much joy, love and light to our blended family. Doris departed this earthly world on January 3, 2023 leaving Norman broken hearted for the second time in his life.

In the spring of 1934, Norman moved to Jewell County with his parents and sister “Peg” (Marjorie) on a wagon and hay-rack pulled by a team of horses. He graduated from Jewell High School in 1948 and enlisted in the United States Air Force in January of 1951 where he served in San Antonio, Texas, Wichita Falls, Texas, Bushy Park, England, and El Paso, Texas until he was discharged with an Excellent Character Rating in October 1954.

Norman moved Mary Ann and his first born to the Greene Farmstead at the conclusion of his military career and worked the farming operation alongside his father, Niles. From 1957 - 1967 they welcomed three more children and built a new home. The family continued to manage the Grade A dairy operation, farm the land, and raise cattle. In 2013 Norman and Doris built a new home on the south edge of Jewell where they welcomed friends and family for visits over tea, pies, and homemade ice cream and enjoyed each other's company for their last 10 years together.

Norm will be remembered for his ornery nature, homemade ice cream, and woodworking skills. He was a proud military veteran, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He found joy in blacksmithing with restoring and building horse buggies, for which he won several awards, and taking his grandchildren on trail rides. He was a devoted cattleman, farmer, dairyman, and horseman. Throughout his extensive life, Norman was engaged in many civic organizations where he served on the Musser Fund Board of Directors and USD 279 School Board, was involved with the Kansas Livestock Association, lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW, supporter of FFA and 4-H, and a member of Jewell Christian Church. You could often find Norm in the stands at area school events supporting all the children he loved.

Norman’s legacy will live on through the Greene Farmstead where the 7th generation of Greene’s live, continue to farm, and raise cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Sister Peg, son-in-law Jeffery, brother Jerry, and beloved mule Kate.

Norman is survived by his sister in-law Phyllis Greene, Emporia, KS; four children - Steve (Susan) Greene, Jewell; Shirley (Steve) Upschulte, Kansas City; Susan (Max) Bean, Glen Elder, KS; and Scott (Janelle) Greene, Jewell; six grandchildren - Nathan (Amber) Greene, Jewell, Kristy (Travis) Ladd Culp, Kansas City, MO, Jacob (Sara) Greene, McFarland, KS; Brittany (Matthew) Boyce, Valley Falls, KS; Chelsey Greene, Claytonia, NE; and Corbin Greene, Jewell; and six great-grandchildren - Sadie, Kinley, Dakota, Malia, Wade, and Bridger; seven step-children, 12 step-grandchildren, 20 step-great grandchildren, and four step-great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and coffee pals who will miss him and his ice cream dearly.

Visitation will take place at Jewell Christian Church on Friday, July 12 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at Jewell Christian Church on Saturday, July 13, at 2:00 p.m., followed by graveside service at Wallace Cemetery, and cookie reception at Jewell Christian Church.

Norman Clinton Greene 

Thomas W. Gott, born February 2, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on June 29, 2024, in Salina, Kansas.

He was the beloved son of Wilbur "Bill" Gott and Elsie (Kelly) Gott. Thomas was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Judith A. Gott, and brother-in-law, Keith Tannehill.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn "Evey" Gott, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage since their union on May 11, 1963, in Salina. He is also survived by his son, Daniel L. Gott (Peggy); his sister, Joyce Tannehill; grandchildren, Crystal Swihart (Phillip) and Daniel E. Gott (Jessica); two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Sacred Heart High School in 1962, Thomas went on to begin a fulfilling career with the City of Salina Fire Department in 1966. Throughout the years, he attended Fire Training School in Maryland and eventually retired as a Fire Inspector in 1998.

Post-retirement, he found joy in working as a greenskeeper at the Salina Golf Course, where he meticulously cared for the greens and fairway for his fellow golfers. In addition to his professional pursuits, Thomas was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, served on the board of the Salina Municipal Credit Union, and was a longstanding member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Club in Salina. He dedicated his time to volunteering for various events in the community.

Known for his loving and devoted nature, Thomas cherished his role as a husband, father, brother, and uncle. He found immense joy in spending time with his family, especially relishing moments spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

Special thanks are also extended to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center and the Salina Regional Medical Center for their compassionate care. Thomas will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and his commitment to serving his community. May his soul rest in peace.

Dee Ellen Kay (Farrell) Leach was born September 21, 1939 in Le Loup, Kansas the daughter of Donald and Opal (Hudson) Farrell.&nbsp; She departed this life on July 4th, 2024 at her home near Ottawa, Kansas, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 84 years.

Dee Ellen lived most of her life in the Ottawa Community.

Dee Ellen graduated from Ottawa High School and was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.&nbsp; She worked at H.D. Lee, UPS, Census, EMT and CNA.

On May 18, 1958, Dee Ellen was united in marriage to Robert L. Leach in Ottawa, Kansas. To this union four children were born, Robert K., Ricky, Rhonda and Randy.&nbsp;

Dee Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Opal (Hudson) Farrell, sister Patricia (Pat) Fleming, brother Doug Farrell and grandson Jaron K. Leach.

Dee Ellen is survived by her husband Robert L. Leach of 66 years, her four children, Robert K. Leach of Rantoul, KS, Ricky Leach of Ottawa, KS, Rhonda (David) Brown of Ottawa, KS and Randy (Vickie) Leach of Pomona, KS, 14 grandkids and 28 great grandkids, two brothers, David Farrell of Florida and Kenny Farrell of Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

Barnett, 88, of Salina, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024.&nbsp; He was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on May 18, 1936, to Arthur Ray and Ruth Nahoma Barnett.&nbsp;&nbsp; After graduating High School, Chuck joined the United States Army, he later joined the Army Reserve.&nbsp; Throughout his working life, he was an inspector for Beech Aircraft and later retired.

Survivors include his children, Jacque Richter/Royer, Jago Blacksky, Patricia Fernandez, Grace V. Cochran, and Victor Brian Cedillo; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael John Cedillo; wife Rose Barnett; and former wife, Sherry Barnett.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Assaria.

Victor was born May 24, 1940 in Glade, KS to John and Elma Schneider. At age 6, he was adopted by his step-dad, Merlin Randolph while still maintaining a life-long relationship with his birth dad. He was raised in Phillipsburg, KS where he graduated high school in 1958.

Victor stepped into the role of a family leader and businessman at the young age of 19 after the tragic death of his father, Merlin. He took over the reigns at the Logan Republican and went on to become a stalwart in the newspaper industry. Victor's career spanned 54 years, with roles at various publications including the Osborne County Farmer, The Burlington Daily Republican, The Emporia Gazette, The Nevada Daily Mail, The Salina Journal, The Norton Daily Telegram, the Miami County Republic and the Osawatomie Graphic.

Victor's dedication to his profession was recognized by his membership in the Kansas Press Association and Missouri Press Association, and his service on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Advertising Manager's Association. Victor's service to his community was equally notable. He was an active participant in the Chamber of Commerce in Osborne, Burlington, and Nevada, a devoted member of both the Rotary Club and the Lions Club, and served on the Burlington City Commission during the establishment of the Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant.

Victor's personality was as vibrant as his professional life; he was organized, energetic, and always the life of the party with a great sense of humor. Even in his last days, his energy was devoted to making others comfortable and welcomed.

His hobbies included gardening, with a particular pride in his tomatoes and flowers, and he cherished time spent outdoors. A devoted sports fan, he never missed watching his favorite teams: the Jayhawks, Chiefs, and Royals. Above all, his greatest love was his family. He dedicated countless hours organizing family photos into albums and honoring his loved ones with pictures on the walls of his home.

Victor is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene Randolph; his sister, Peggy Conrad; his children, Ryan Randolph, Toni Standley, Shelly Pfiefer, Renee Gordon, John Boden, Kelley Grabast, Debbie Blocker, Jeanne Bristol and Kathy Patterson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John and Wayne Randolph, and his children Scott Randolph, Mike Boden, and Rick Boden.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 11 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary in Salina. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS.

Wilfred Finley Mastin Jr, 87, of Topeka, KS, passed away on July 6, 2024. He was born May 1, 1937 in Latimer, Kansas, to Wilfred F. and Vivien (McDaniel) Mastin Sr.

He graduated from Herington High School in 1955. On June 5, 1960 he married Donna Hartke in Lincolnville, KS. The couple had five children: Laura, Kathy, Sandy, Renee and Jason. On July 19, 1994 he married Pamela Shuler. He helped to raise her children, adopting her youngest son and grandchildren: Shaun, Jacob, Joseph and Silvia.&nbsp; Wilfred worked for Beech AirCraft (Raytheon) for fifty years, from 1963 until retiring in around 2013.Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pamela and sisters: Virginia, Vera, Thelma, Marian and Harriet.He is survived by his daughters: Laura (Jeff) Templer (Topeka, KS), Kathy Mastin (Salina, KS), Sandy McClain (Topeka, KS), Renee (Andy) Purdy (Salina, KS), and Silvia Mastin (Lindsborg, KS); and sons: Jason (Jamie) Mastin (Lehigh Acres, FL), Shaun, Jacob, and Joseph Mastin (Lindsborg, KS). He was blessed with ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Cremation will take place following the service and inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Services will be held&nbsp;at 11:00 am Friday, July 19, 2024&nbsp;at Dove Southeast Chapel,&nbsp;2843 SE Minnesota Ave.&nbsp;where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.&nbsp;

Minerva Rodriguez ArandaMinerva Rodriguez Aranda, 88, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 7th, 2024.

Minerva was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 4, 1935, a daughter of Librada (Garcia) Montoy and Alonzo Rodriguez.

Survivors include two daughters, Alma Jaquez, Marta Retana (Juan), both of Salina; two sons, Oscar Aranda Jr. (Jill), of Summerville, South Carolina, Noe Ovalle (Linda), of Salina.&nbsp;She is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren.

Minerva is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Aranda Sr.; brothers, Noe and Gaspar; and granddaughter, Angelina Montoya.

Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned.&nbsp;Minerva will be placed next to her husband at Kansas Veterans Cemetery later.&nbsp;Donations may be made to Wreaths Across America in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.

Jeffery V. "Munk" Scarborough, 57, earned his wings on July 7, 2024, with family and friends by his side. &nbsp;Jeff&nbsp;was born on January 29, 1967 in Houston, Texas. &nbsp;He grew up in Gorham, Kansas, and graduated from Gorham High School in the Class of ’85. Jeff was a master electrician and owned Jay Vee’s Electric for over 20 years. &nbsp;

Jeff met his wife, Kris Miller, in elementary school. &nbsp;They began dating in high school and were&nbsp;married on December 25, 1989. Jeff and Kris were&nbsp;the true definition of soulmates. In good times and bad they always came together and stuck by each other’s side. They were blessed with two children: Jessica and Luke.&nbsp;&nbsp;Jeff was incredibly proud of his children's accomplishments, and he always made sure they knew it.&nbsp;

During his life he had many titles: husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, but his favorite title was “Papa J”.&nbsp; Jeff’s memory will live on in the hearts of his five grandchildren: Eli, Dax, Colt, Caid, and Chloe.&nbsp;He loved nothing more than spending time with his kids and grandkids at the farm.&nbsp;&nbsp;In his spare time, Jeff also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Fat Boy, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, and camping at Lake Wilson.&nbsp;

Jeff was a remarkable man. He always believed when times got tough you just keep going, never quit. If he could tell us anything right now,&nbsp;he would say “don’t mourn my death. &nbsp;Remember everything I taught you and keep going: Scarborough Strong!”

Jeff’s surviving family includes his loving wife of 34 years and best friend, Kris Scarborough; children: Jessica (Blake) Stoppel and Luke (Katie) Scarborough; five grandchildren: Elijah Scarborough, Daxton Scarborough, Colt Stoppel, Caiden Scarborough, and Chloe Stoppel; his sister, Kelly (Eric) Reddig; brother-in-law, Bill (Dulce) Miller; nieces and nephews: Kylie Reddig, Hunter Reddig, Johnny (Erica) Keener, Jaelyn Keener, Nathan (Megan) Keener, Evan Keener, and Kelton Wallace; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.&nbsp;

Jeff is proceeded by death by his parents,&nbsp;Lonnie and&nbsp;Clyde Munk, and Tommy Scarborough.&nbsp;

A graveside memorial service for Jeff will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Gorham St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. &nbsp;A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held from 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Gorham Senior Center in Gorham, Kansas. The family requests that you wear a Kansas City Chiefs, Harley Davidson, or Scarborough Strong t-shirt.&nbsp;

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Liberty MD Direct Primary Care, Emporia, Kansas. Dr. Aaron Watters cared for Jeff during his cancer journey and was a true blessing to Jeff and his family.
