Linda Marie Riggs-Stramel, 78, of Salina, passed away on September 28, 2025. Linda was born on May 21, 1947, south of Quinter, Kansas, on the family farm to Howard and Anna Riggs.

She graduated from Quinter High School in 1965. On May 29, 1969, Linda married the love of her life, John O. Stramel.

Her husband preceded her in death on March 22, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles; and her sisters, Eunice and Yvonne.

Survivors include her daughter, Rachel Elsen and husband Dennis, and their family, of Beloit; her brothers, Leonard and wife Carol of Wichita, Kansas, and James and wife Sandy of Lincoln, Nebraska; her sister, Evelyn of Escondido, California; grandchildren, Haley Dreith and Husband Allen, Brianna Elsen, Lacy Elsen; 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen, and no services will follow. Scattering of the ashes will take place at the WaKeeney Veterans Cemetery.

Virginia “Ginger” Leone Donley, 89, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by family, in Salina, KS. She was born November 25, 1935 on her family’s farm in Lincoln County, KS to Erwin and Irene (Troeger) Eckelman. Virginia was a graduate of Beverly High School. She married Alvin Donley at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of rural Lincoln County on November 26, 1953. She was a homemaker, farmwife and dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aide. Virginia was also a member of the Westfall Homemakers EHU and the Republican Committee Women.

Virginia is survived by her daughters, Jodi White (Richard) of Lincoln and Sheree Wieneke (Daniel) of Beverly; son Lonnie Donley (Heidi) of Westfall; grandchildren, Jeff White (Jenny), Jenelle Borst (Adam), Jacob Wieneke (Amy), Caleb Wieneke (Mallory), Rebecca Wieneke, Brady Donley (Michelle), Colby Donley (Emily), and Aubry Donley; great grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Emi, Titus, Lydia, Eleanor, Adelaide, Bennett, Dillon, Libby, Cooper, and Georgia; and siblings, Ila King, Dale Eckelman, and Carol Cain. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin; and sister Florence Fritze.

Visitation: 1-7 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Hall Chapel of Lincoln. Family will receive visitors 5-7 p.m.

Judy Porter, 70, passed away September 28, 2025 at her home in Salina, KS,after a long illness.

&nbsp;She was born Judy Kay Powell January 22, 1955 in Salina, KS to Ira and Phyllis Powell.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

&nbsp;Survivors include stepchildren Ian Berg (Jenny), Bobby Berg (Aingel) and Jewel Berg and five step grandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Siblings Dianna Kelly (Rob), Debra Davis (Vic), Jerry Powell (Brenda), Darla Waymaster (Harold) and Joni Root (Dave).

Judy also leaves behind cats Bella and Elsa who she dearly loved and gave her comfort in her last days.

Judy loved children and ran a day care in her home for many years.&nbsp; She had a unique way to create many clever solutions for convenience in her home.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A Celebration of Life will be held at CrossRoads Church, 1125 W South Street, Salina, KS on Saturday, October 18 at 11:00 am.

Carol is the beloved wife of Pastor Julius Mutembei, who pastors the Minneapolis First United Methodist Church and the United Church of Bennington.

Memorial services will be Friday, October 10, at the Minneapolis First United Methodist Church. &nbsp;Service times will be announced.

Christopher Gerard Colosimo, 61, of Minneapolis, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025. He was born on December 4, 1963, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Chris served in the United States Air Force from 1982 to 1992. He was an EMT in that time as well. He was a part time Sedgwick County Sheriff's Deputy in the 1980s, in the 90s he was an ASE certified mechanic for Bengston’s Auto, and worked in the Engineering Department for Philips Lighting. He worked for Veolia Industries as an engineer.

&nbsp;He was a proud Jack Daniels Squire and an avid Jack Daniels collector, like his father. He was the proudest of his family and all their achievements in life especially his grand babies.&nbsp;

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy Colosimo, of the home; children, Chase (Faith) Colosimo, Garett Folger, Nicole (Jeff) Hauck, and Alexander Colosimo; bonus children, Cody and Chelsea; grandchildren, Everley, Grace, Ely, Bentlee, Bentley, Callie, Adylaen, Kenadi, Caleb, Adam, Spencer, and Natalie; bonus grandchildren, Rylee Roo, Gracyn, Camden, Xandra, Bella and Blaison; many nieces and nephews; especially his favorite niece, Jessica Molina.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Colosimo; grandmother, Rose Colosimo; and grandfather, Fred Colosimo.&nbsp;

Terry Gartner, of Minneapolis, KS, met the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 28, 2025. At age 85, he passed away at home with family by his side and peacefully entered God’s Kingdom.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 

Terry was born December 1, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Donald and Viola Gartner. He graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1958 before attending San Bernardino College in California and the University of Nebraska School of Architecture in Lincoln, NE.

He married Francie (Midge) Istas on June 3, 1961, and they made Nebraska their home for 24 years. Terry worked for various architectural firms in Lincoln, Omaha, and McCook as a registered architect. In 1985, they moved to Minneapolis, KS, where he worked for Max Bishop and Associates until the closing of that firm. He retired from Wilson and Company in 2007. After retiring, he still enjoyed drawing house plans for general contractors and individuals. He was proud of his successful career as an architect for 37 years. Terry was a member of the American Institute of Architects, The Knights of Columbus, and the Minneapolis Lion’s Club.&nbsp; &nbsp;

 Terry had a love for astronomy, bird watching, and animals of all kinds, especially his cats. He loved his family with his whole heart and never met a stranger. He kept his family entertained with so many silly, made-up names and stories! He truly loved life.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, and their three children: Lori (Bob) Petersen of Bennington, NE; Shelly (Kyle) Coleman of Salina, KS; and Kevin (Shay) Gartner of Central City, NE. Grandchildren include Kyler (Chelsea) Gartner of Houston, TX; Adam Schmitt of Omaha, NE; Kailee (Patrick) Luddy of London, England; Connor Gartner and Chase Gartner, both of York, NE.&nbsp; Step-granddaughter Melissa (Jason) Smith, great-step-granddaughters Abigail and Emily Smith, all of Wahoo, NE also survive him. Additional survivors include his brothers Donald (Carole) Gartner of Carmel, IN, and Dennis (Tina) Gartner of Lincoln, NE; his sister Cindy (Steve) George of Lincoln, NE; his sister-in-law Nancy Muehl of Valley, NE; as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law Buck and LaVada Istas; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Sue Weiland; brother-in-law Michael Muehl; niece Christina Frechette; and nephew Eric Barnett.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Minneapolis, KS. Visitation will be Thursday, October 2, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wilson Family Funeral Home, followed by a rosary and prayer vigil. Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, KS.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Terry Gartner

Catalina Magallanes, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2025. She was born on April 30, 1931 in Abrego, Zacatecas, Mexico. She lived a long life devoted to her family, faith, and community.

Catalina was a faithful woman whose greatest joy was caring for her loved ones. She was married to Ascension Rodriguez until his passing on February 8, 2002. Together, they built a loving family, raising 13 children. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvino and Antonia Magallanes, her husband Ascension and sons Jose Manuel and Ramon Rodriguez.She was survived by 11 children: Sara (Santiago) Montoya, Irma (Eliseo) Alvarado of Mexico, Salavador (Socorro) Rodriguez, Maria L Rodriguez, Maria C Rodriguez, Aurelia Rodriguez, Raquel (Raul) Picazo, Celia (Baltazar) Panuco, Betty (Erasmo) Jasso, Miguel (Maria) Rodriguez, Hector (Sara) Rodriguez of Salina Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents Alvino and Antonia Magallanes, her husband Ascension and sons Jose Manuel and Ramon Rodriguez. She had 34 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was a devoted follower of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, faithfully praying the novena each month for more than 52 years. Catalina deeply cherished the visits of her family, enjoying every moment she shared with them. In her free time, she loved knitting, tending to her garden, and enjoying ice cream with loved ones.

In the later years of her life, Catalina dedicated most of her time to prayer, not only for her family, but also for the needs of the Church and the entire world. Her warmth, strength, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and faith that will be remembered and cherished by her family.

Visitation will take place at the Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, October 2 from 4-7 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 6 pm on Friday, October 3. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 4 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Catalina will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Mount Calvary cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported and prayed for Catalina in her final days.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvino and Antonia Magallanes, her husband Ascension and sons Jose Manuel and Ramon Rodriguez. She had 34 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.She was a devoted follower of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, faithfully praying the novena each month for more than 52 years. Catalina deeply cherished the visits of her family, enjoying every moment she shared with them. In her free time, she loved knitting, tending to her garden, and enjoying ice cream with loved ones.In the later years of her life, Catalina dedicated most of her time to prayer, not only for her family, but also for the needs of the Church and the entire world. Her warmth, strength, and generosity touched everyone who knew her.She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and faith that will be remembered and cherished by her family.Visitation will take place at the Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, October 2 from 4-7 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 6 pm on Friday, October 3. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 4 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Catalina will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Mount Calvary cemetery.The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported and prayed for Catalina in her final days.

David Lynn Fullerton, 76, of Mankato, Kansas, passed away in Kearney, Nebraska on September 25, 2025. He was born in Concordia, Kansas on November 7th, 1948, to William Jennings Fullerton and Ruby (Hancock) Fullerton.

David attended Montrose High School until the school closed before his senior year. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1966.

Throughout his life, he worked in construction, owned a gas station/auto shop called Dave’s Standard Service, drove a truck OTR, and was Jewell County Sheriff until he retired in 2010. He was a member of the Kansas Army National Guard for 33 years.

He married Mary Sue Jensen of Mankato, Kansas in 1973. They were married for 21 years. Their union was blessed with two children: Crystal Sue and William James.

David enjoyed bowling, coin collecting, horse races and traveling. He and his daughter Crystal enjoyed many trips to Hawaii in recent years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby Fullerton, his son, William James Fullerton, siblings Bernice Fullhart, Neva Wharton, Roy Fullerton, Don Fullerton, Laverne Fullerton, Dean Fullerton, Brenda Moser, Joyce McElroy, two infant siblings, Debbie Fullerton and Lyle Fullerton and three stillborn brothers.

He is survived by his daughter Crystal Fullerton, sisters Norma Eitzman, Yvonne Blair, Claudine “Denie” Fullerton, Phyllis Olmstead, and many other relatives.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas on October 7th, 2025, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Rice officiating. Judith Raye Liby, 81, Cheney Ks, died Saturday, September 27, 2025. She was born July 9, 1944, in Salina, to A.J. and Irma (Stuck) Shanahan.

Judi and Stanley K. Liby were married on October 6, 1962.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley K. Liby, Sr.; and siblings, Jan Smith, Nancy McClintock, Sally Stewart, Debbie Shanahan, Deanna Nash, J.P. Shanahan, and Carolyn Kasper.

Robert L. Doering, 75, Minneapolis, died Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. He was born November 10, 1949, in Salina to Harold L. and Evelyn C. (Clark) Doering.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

After graduating from Minneapolis High School, he attended vo-tech where he earned a diesel mechanic degree. He also served in the United States Army. Robert was a longtime truck driver.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Larry Weis.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Survivors are his children, Wade (Leslie), Chantan, Levi, Justin, and Dustin; four grandchildren; and siblings, Cecilia Weis, Gene Doering (Verla), and David Doering (Rhonda).&nbsp; &nbsp;

Joseph Alan “Joey” Hawkinson, 40, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Born on Christmas Day in 1984 to Craig and Melody Hawkinson, at 2 lbs. 10 oz, Joey brought warmth and joy to those around him from the very beginning. A resident of Salina, he graduated with honors from South High School in 2005. Though an avid KU basketball fan (attending every basketball game he could,) Joey pursued his education at Kansas State University Salina before continuing with online studies through Cloud County Community College.

In 2012, Joey was baptized at the First Covenant Church. Joey always looked forward to Sunday mornings to attend church and to see his church family, especially his "adopted" Grandpa, Don Lyne and learn from the word.

Joey had a deep love for travel, especially train journeys shared with his family. His family started Joe’s Little Nut Company, a small business that Joey loved to participate in that took them to festivals and community events. Joey thrived in these settings, always eager to meet new people and share a smile.

He is survived by his loving parents, Craig and Melody Hawkinson; his uncle, Robert Hawkinson; and many cousins including Vicanna Smith (Brandon), Jim Mauk (Chelsea Hall), Nathan Hardesty (Christa), Stephanie Breitmeyer, Lance Hoover (Trisha), Lori Ramsey, Tim Hawkinson (Marci), and John Hawkinson (Amanda).Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lawrence and Mary Hardesty, Leonard and Nancy John, and Don D. Kay Webster

D’Avalon “Dee” Durham, a cherished soul known for her loving nature and spirited zest for life, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on March 13, 1937, in Ellsworth, Kansas, Dee was a beacon of faith and love to all who knew her.

Dee, the daughter of Melva and Ralph Minear, grew up in a close-knit family with her brother Butch. She embraced the values of family and community from an early age, which continued to resonate throughout her life. Her parents and brother predeceased her, as did her beloved husband, Bob, and daughter Tresa.

Despite the challenges she faced, Dee’s faith never wavered. She was a devout Christian, finding strength and solace in her religion. Her steadfast belief was a source of inspiration and comfort to her family and friends.

Dee's educational journey was marked by her determination and resilience. She received her GED and went on to earn college credits, proving that it's never too late to pursue one's goals. Her professional life was dedicated to serving her community as a bookkeeper and co-owner of Rodrick and Minear Funeral Home.

Family was the cornerstone of Dee’s world. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jeanine Innes and husband John of Kansas City, Kansas, and Becky Hallauer and husband Eric of Holton, Kansas. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, who will carry forward the memories of her love.

Dee enjoyed reading a good book that captured her imagination. She enjoyed playing Mexican train dominoes, a pastime that brought laughter and joy to many gatherings. Above all, spending time with her family and friends was her greatest pleasure.

Her absence will be deeply felt by many who take solace in knowing that her spirit is now at peace.

 </figure>D’Avalon “Dee” Durham, a cherished soul known for her loving nature and spirited zest for life, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on March 13, 1937, in Ellsworth, Kansas, Dee was a beacon of faith and love to all who knew her.Dee, the daughter of Melva and Ralph Minear, grew up in a close-knit family with her brother Butch. She embraced the values of family and community from an early age, which continued to resonate throughout her life. Her parents and brother predeceased her, as did her beloved husband, Bob, and daughter Tresa.Despite the challenges she faced, Dee’s faith never wavered. She was a devout Christian, finding strength and solace in her religion. Her steadfast belief was a source of inspiration and comfort to her family and friends.Dee's educational journey was marked by her determination and resilience. She received her GED and went on to earn college credits, proving that it's never too late to pursue one's goals. Her professional life was dedicated to serving her community as a bookkeeper and co-owner of Rodrick and Minear Funeral Home.Family was the cornerstone of Dee’s world. She is survived by her loving daughters, Jeanine Innes and husband John of Kansas City, Kansas, and Becky Hallauer and husband Eric of Holton, Kansas. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, who will carry forward the memories of her love.Dee enjoyed reading a good book that captured her imagination. She enjoyed playing Mexican train dominoes, a pastime that brought laughter and joy to many gatherings. Above all, spending time with her family and friends was her greatest pleasure.Her absence will be deeply felt by many who take solace in knowing that her spirit is now at peace.

Martin was the first child born to John and Rosemary Burke. They lived on a farm near Coleridge, Nebraska. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Eileen, and sibling Francis.

Martin is survived by four children – Paula Burke of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Leo Burke of Seattle, Washington; Thomas Burke of Gottingen, Germany; and Margaret Burke of Anchorage, Alaska.

He is also survived by siblings John Burke of Crofton, Nebraska; Gerry Burke of Omaha, Nebraska (Mary); Mary Guthrie of Lincoln, Nebraska (Clair); Angie Burke Benal of Lincoln; James Burke of Omaha (Trisha); and Joseph Burke of Lincoln as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends.

Martin attended Cedar Catholic High School in nearby Hartington, NE, graduating in 1976. He played cornet and trumpet in the school band, played football and ran cross country. He starred (with his brother John) in the one-act play “Hope Is the Thing with Feathers,” and played Linus in the musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.” He was active in Search teen weekend retreats, which emphasized prayer and community.&nbsp;

He attended Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. He studied music and education, graduating in 1980.

He starred as Thorin Oakenshield, the leader of the Company of Dwarves, in “The Hobbit” (with his brother Gerry) at the Lewis and Clark Playhouse in Yankton.

Martin participated in many instrumental performances while in college, including backing the musical “Stop the World, I Want to Get Off.” He switched to trombone and learned to play guitar.

Over the years, he acquired many musical instruments, and reveled in learning more about music. He worked on a master’s degree in music at St. Thomas University with a focus on the Orff method, which brings a play-based approach to learning music in an active way.

Martin taught music at Holy Trinity Elementary School in Hartington, Nebraska, and later taught school in Westboro, Missouri. He played in the pit band one summer at the Mule Barn Theatre in Tarkio, Missouri.

After moving to Salina, Kansas, Martin taught music at St. Mary’s Grade School. He provided music at church.

Martin later worked in carpentry and shipping and receiving jobs, working for many years at Grain Belt Supply Company in Salina, Kansas. He retired in June, 2025.

Martin passed away surrounded by loving family and treasured friends, hearing the music he loved most in this world.

Martin spent years in recovery, being served and serving others. Martin took his pain and turned it into joy!&nbsp; We need more Martins in this world!

A Celebration Of Life will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 1-4 p.m., at the Alano Club, 1102 Armory Rd, Salina, KS, 67401.

Martin William Burke

Charlotte Sue Wilson, 79, of Salina, KS, entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Charlotte was born on July 23, 1946, to Doran D. Dewald and Elma L. (Miller) Dewald at Russell County Hospital. She attended school in Russell, KS where she graduated in 1964. After high school, she attended business school in Wichita, KS. Following graduation she returned to Russell, KS where she worked until she met the love of her life.

Charlotte met Jim Wilson on a double date in Waldo, KS. After a short courting, the two were married on November 19, 1966. The couple made their home in Salina, KS where they raised their three sons. Jimmy, Darren, and Jason. Charlotte dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was a hard worker and an avid gardener. She spent warm afternoons either in her greenhouse working with her plants or on a craft or outside enjoying the fresh flowers near her Koi Pond. Charlotte and Jim enjoyed spending time together at the lake and traveling to visit family across the United States. She was her grandkids biggest cheerleader and always enjoyed attending their activities.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her infant brother Thomas, her sister Linda (Dewald) Austin, her brother-in-laws, Ernest Sitz and Ronald Austin, her parents, and grandparents and one grandson, Josh.

Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Jim Wilson, her three sons, Jimmy (Traci) Wilson of Berryton, KS, Darren (Lori) Wilson of Brookville, KS, Jason (Lisa) Wilson of Gulf Breeze, FL, and her grandchildren Nicholas, Remington, Alex, Nick, Joseph, Adrie, Kalei, and Matthew, one great-grandson, one great granddaughter, her sisters Julia Sitz and Margaret (Kelly) Vosburg, her brothers Richard (Pat) Dewald and Steve (Shilah) Dewald, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to service on Monday, the 29th of September 2025 at Church of the Cross UMC, 1600 Rush Street, Salina, KS. Memorial service will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at the church. Burial will happen at a later date in Waldo, KS. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Church of the Cross UMC, and are in care of Heier Scott Mortuary and Cremations, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas 67401.

Edward Dean Mock, 81, of Salina, KS, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025. He was born June 6, 1944, in Eureka, KS, to Milton Edward and Pauline (Denner) Mock.

Ed was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Hall on September 29, 1984, in Ft. Stewart, GA.

Ed retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant Major after 23 years, which included service in the Vietnam War. Ed and Pat settled in Salina where he continued his career as a mechanic for five years with MSS Transport and 13 years with the City of Salina, retiring in 2006. Ed loved to garden and watch the birds. He had a huge heart and a never-ending sense of humor. He will be missed by all who loved him!

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Pat; daughters, Kimberly Beining (David), Tamera Kruse (Steve), and Holli Denton (Richard); son, Greylyn Gilson (Vikki); brother, Steven Mock; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Milton “Dan” Mock Sr., Paula Goodell, and Patricia Lawrence.

No services are planned at this time. Interment will occur at a later date at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery at Ft. Riley/Manhattan, KS.

Jo Ann Zachary went home to be with the Lord, September 20, 2025. She was born October 8, 1959 in Salina, Kansas, the youngest of seven children. On Valentine’s Day, 1987, she married the love of her life, Wayne Zachary, in the Bethel Church, rural Cloud County.

Jo Ann was employed at IBP in Emporia and Bosselman Truck Shop in Salina. She enjoyed riding horses, especially Hank, and spending time with her beloved dogs. Marrying Wayne provided her the privilege of mothering Mendy. Many nieces and nephews appreciated the baby quilts Aunt Grandma embroidered and rugs she hooked. Ill health had curtailed many of these activities, but she remained a cheerful and joyful companion.Survivors include her husband, Wayne; stepdaughter, Mendy; siblings, Juanita Stone (Craig), Joyce Buckland-Rohloff, Marty Buckland, Jan Zinn (Joe), Judy Love; sister-in-law, Rebecca Coleman; brothers-in-law, Stephen Zachary (Arlene), David Zachary (Sheri); and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed…

Jo Ann Zachary

Joan M. Mills of Abilene, age 94 years, passed away on September 21, 2025, at The Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, KS.

She was born to Carl and Josephine (Erichsen) Schweitzer on September 14, 1931, at the Geary County Hospital in Junction City. She grew up on the family farm near Alida with her 2 sisters and 1 brother. Joan graduated from the Milford High School with the class of 1950.

On July 30, 1950, she married Lee Mills of Chapman at her parent’s home in Alida. They farmed outside of Chapman and raised cattle, hogs, chickens. And raised grain crops. Joan spent a lot of time raising the 6 children. They retired from the farm in 1990 and moved to Abilene.

Joan served on the Scherer Memorial Lutheran Church Counsel and was very active in the church. She also bowled on a Tuesday afternoon league in Abilene for many years.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, sisters, Bonnie Freeman, Joyce Welshans and their spouses Herman and William, brother, Jay Schweitzer, Daughter-in-law, Deb Mills and son-in-law, Wayne McZegle.

She is survived by her six children - daughters, Susan McZegle, Enid, OK, Leanne Mills and significant other, Geoffrey Houser, Junction City; sons, Melvin, Talmage; Randy, Assaria, Larry (Kathy), Kent (Sarah) Mills of Chapman. Ten grandsons, Bill, Travis (Kristen), Andrew (Heather), Mitchem, Ryan, Jared (Bobbi), Nicholas, Kevin, Kyle Mills and Dustin Westover. Six great-grandchildren – Colby, Carly, Chloe, Ellery, Sully and Amelia. And a sister-in-law, Wava Schweitzer.

Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, at Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Chapman. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., following the visitation. Burial will be at the Indian Hill Cemetery, Chapman.

Joan M. Mills

Lonny Pucket, 84, departed this world on the morning of Friday, September 19, 2025, at 3:50 a.m., while in hospice care at Village Manor of Abilene, KS, with his oldest grandson watching over him.

Lonny Lee Pucket was born in Concordia, KS, on June 30, 1941, the son of George W. and Irene Lillie (Orebaugh) Pucket. He was a twin to Larry Lee Pucket and one of five children: Garrel, Clyde, Larry, Lonny, and their sister, Guila. Lonny was fortunate to attend school in his hometown of Glasco, KS, completing both grade and high school there and graduating in the spring of 1959.

After high school, Lonny moved to Salina to work for Lee Hardware before deciding to attend college at Fort Hays, where he graduated with an associate degree. Following college, Lonny moved to Wichita and began working in the aircraft industry as a painter. On weekends, he often returned home to see family and friends. It was during one of these visits that he met the love of his life, Fonda Plymire.

On June 8, 1968, Lonny and Fonda were married at the United Methodist Church in Glasco, KS. They lived in Wichita for the first few years before moving back to Salina. In the fall of 1970, they were blessed with the birth of a son, William Pucket. In the summer of 1976, they were again blessed, this time with a daughter, Gina (Pucket) Winter.

Life made Lonny a grandfather three times, a role he cherished. He faithfully attended countless soccer games, school programs, Boy Scout events, and anything else his grandsons were involved in. He believed that showing up was one of the best ways to show he cared. Whenever he could convince one of the boys to go to a car show or cowboy event, it became a day of joy that he would talk about often.

Lonny was a hard worker, having grown up on a farm south of Glasco. He loved sharing stories from his childhood with anyone who would listen. He spent over 25 years working for AGCO in Hesston, KS—a job he enjoyed because of the friendships he made, which made the daily commute worthwhile.

In his spare time, Lonny enjoyed taking his wife dancing at the Muse Ballroom. He loved classic car shows and cruising with the Thursday Night Cruisers. He also enjoyed traveling—first with his wife and children to places such as the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and Mount Rushmore. Later, once the children were grown, he and Fonda traveled to places such as New York, where they saw their favorite country western singers perform at Carnegie Hall, and even took cruises to Cozumel and Alaska. They loved exploring the beauty of this country together.

Lonny is survived by his wife, Fonda Pucket of Kipp; son, William Pucket of Salina, KS; daughter, Gina Winter and husband Matthew of Salina, KS; three grandsons, Thomas Fletcher of Marquette, KS, and Nic Fletcher and Bryant Rush of Salina, KS; his brother, Clyde (Brenda) of Wichita; and many nieces and nephews.

A service and celebration of his life will be held at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina, KS, on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the same location. As was Lonny’s request, his favorite pies and cookies will be served. Please bring a story to share, as Lonny always enjoyed good conversation and cherished memories.  </figure>Lonny Pucket, 84, departed this world on the morning of Friday, September 19, 2025, at 3:50 a.m., while in hospice care at Village Manor of Abilene, KS, with his oldest grandson watching over him.Lonny Lee Pucket was born in Concordia, KS, on June 30, 1941, the son of George W. and Irene Lillie (Orebaugh) Pucket. He was a twin to Larry Lee Pucket and one of five children: Garrel, Clyde, Larry, Lonny, and their sister, Guila. Lonny was fortunate to attend school in his hometown of Glasco, KS, completing both grade and high school there and graduating in the spring of 1959.After high school, Lonny moved to Salina to work for Lee Hardware before deciding to attend college at Fort Hays, where he graduated with an associate degree. Following college, Lonny moved to Wichita and began working in the aircraft industry as a painter. On weekends, he often returned home to see family and friends. It was during one of these visits that he met the love of his life, Fonda Plymire.On June 8, 1968, Lonny and Fonda were married at the United Methodist Church in Glasco, KS. They lived in Wichita for the first few years before moving back to Salina. In the fall of 1970, they were blessed with the birth of a son, William Pucket. In the summer of 1976, they were again blessed, this time with a daughter, Gina (Pucket) Winter.Life made Lonny a grandfather three times, a role he cherished. He faithfully attended countless soccer games, school programs, Boy Scout events, and anything else his grandsons were involved in. He believed that showing up was one of the best ways to show he cared. Whenever he could convince one of the boys to go to a car show or cowboy event, it became a day of joy that he would talk about often.Lonny was a hard worker, having grown up on a farm south of Glasco. He loved sharing stories from his childhood with anyone who would listen. He spent over 25 years working for AGCO in Hesston, KS—a job he enjoyed because of the friendships he made, which made the daily commute worthwhile.In his spare time, Lonny enjoyed taking his wife dancing at the Muse Ballroom. He loved classic car shows and cruising with the Thursday Night Cruisers. He also enjoyed traveling—first with his wife and children to places such as the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, and Mount Rushmore. Later, once the children were grown, he and Fonda traveled to places such as New York, where they saw their favorite country western singers perform at Carnegie Hall, and even took cruises to Cozumel and Alaska. Karl Ray Stutterheim passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on September 16, 1937, in Long Island, Kansas, the only son of Henry and Fanny (Raymaker) Stutterheim.

Karl lived in Long Island until second grade, when he and his parents moved to Phillipsburg, Kansas. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1955, where he was a standout multi-sport athlete, with basketball being his favorite.

He went on to attend Kansas State University, graduating in 1960 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Karl played on the 1955–56 freshman basketball team under legendary coach Tex Winter and alongside All-American Bob Boozer. He was also a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, where he formed lifelong friendships. During his freshman year, Karl met Connie Benjamin on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. They married in June 1959 and shared 66 wonderful years together.

After college, Karl began his career at Burns &amp; McDonnell in Kansas City. In 1961, he and Connie moved to Salina, where Karl joined Jarrett Electric Company as an electrical engineer.

He served as president and CEO until his retirement in 2006, after which he devoted his time to family, travel, volunteering at Salina Regional Health Center as “the wheelchair guy,” and playing golf with lifelong friends.Karl led a full and generous life, actively participating in his church, community, and numerous organizations. He served as a trustee, board member, or volunteer for many groups, including Sunflower Bank, St. John’s Military School, Trinity United Methodist Church, Salina Regional Health Center, Salina Country Club, Southeast of Saline, CAPS, First Tee, and Salina Charities. He was a member of Gridiron. A devoted supporter of Kansas State University, Karl contributed to the KSU Foundation, student scholarships, and the university's athletics programs. He held season tickets from the inaugural season of the stadium in 1968 (now Bill Snyder Family Stadium).One of Karl’s proudest moments was his 2013 induction into the Salina Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame.Above all, Karl was known as a kind and gracious gentleman, generous with his time, talents, and resources. He honored relationships by treating everyone with respect and dignity. His warmth and gracious spirit touched every person who met Karl Stutterheim.Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fanny Stutterheim.He is survived by his wife, Connie; daughters Karen Kogler (Duane) of Battle Ground, WA, and Nancy Jorgensen (Steve) of Vancouver, WA; son Dan (Jennifer) of Salina, KS; grandchildren Matthew, Daniel, and Katie Kogler of Battle Ground, WA; Emily Jorgensen of Birmingham, AL; Amy Jorgensen of Vancouver, WA; Ben Stutterheim (Megan) of Salina; Allison Stutterheim of Kansas City; and Gracie Fabing (Tom) of Manhattan. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Liam Morris and Ruth Stutterheim of Salina, and many other loving family members.The Stutterheim family extends heartfelt thanks to Nat and the Presbyterian Manor staff for their patient and loving care of Karl.A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 29, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Salina. A reception will follow at the Salina Country Club, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Karl’s remarkable life.Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Salina Community Foundation, with “Karl Stutterheim Memorial” noted in the memo line.
