Larry “Keith” Anderson, 84 passed away on August 6, 2023, after a short illness.&nbsp; He was born December 17, 1938 in Sheridan County, Kansas.&nbsp; He was the son of Bill and Ruth Shafer Anderson.&nbsp; After graduating from Sheridan County High School, Larry earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in History from Fort Hays State University. &nbsp;

Larry and his family moved to Salina where he was a History Professor at Marymount College of Kansas and later the registrar at Marymount.&nbsp; Larry changed professions in 1979 and went to work in the airline industry until his retirement in 2008. &nbsp;

Larry is survived by his wife, Norma of 63 years; son, Rob (Pam); daughter, Mel LaBossiere; four grandsons, Brian (Christina), Kevin (Emily), Jean-Luc (Jenna) and Josh (Pennie); three great-grandchildren; sister, Kaye Hird (Carroll); and brother, Robert Anderson (Maxine).&nbsp; Larry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dale Anderson.

Funeral services are Friday, August 11, 2023, at 10:30am at Emmanuel Church, 1325 E. Cloud, Salina, KS. Visitation is at the home on Thursday afternoon and evening.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the Salina Alzheimer’s Caregiver Education and Support Group or Gentiva Hospice, in care of Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Roxanne K. Dupre, 70, of Salina, passed away, Friday, August 4th, 2023, at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born in Salina, KS on June 8th, 1953.

She married Edmond Dupre on August 2nd, 1997. They had been happily married for 26 years.

Rocky worked for years at Hobby Lobby as the art department manager, and after retiring, took her creativeness to painting and working on her prized butterfly garden. She also enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Rocky is preceded in death by her parents, Beverly Hicks and Rocky Lane; adopted father, Vernon Hicks; beloved children, Crystal and Chad; siblings, Tony, Christine, Scott, and Melodee; and great nephew, Tone.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie; daughter, Catrina; grandchild, Xan; siblings, Verna and Johnny; nephew, Chris; nieces, Shannon, Kelsey, and Kortney; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life announced at a later date.

Susan D. (Kinney) Riordan passed away on July 3, 2023. The oldest of five children, Susan was born on October 12, 1947 to William and Mary (MacRae) Kinney in Atchison, Kansas. Her passion for creating visual art spanned her entire life and almost all media–fiber, watercolors, pastels, pen and ink, jewelry, photography, glass blowing, collage, puppetry and more. She often sold her pieces at the Salina River Festival and many other festivals across the midwest. In addition to visual art, Susan regularly attended the Iowa Writers Conference and was awarded her Masters in Poetry from Goddard College, culminating in the publication of her book of poetry 'I Wanted a Poem About Kansas.' She was a voracious reader who loved a good used bookstore and instilled both those loves in her children. Susan was married to Bill Riordan for over 50 years and worked as the art teacher for St. Mary’s Grade school, as well as in the Children’s Department of the Salina Public Library. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Kathy and Billie Jean, her beloved sister-in-law, Terry, and her grandson, Kurtis. She is survived by her sister, Randi, her brother, Philip, her nephews, and nieces, and by her four children, James, Mary, Ann, and Jennifer. Donations to honor Susan’s creativity may be made to the Salina Public Library and the Building Creatively Campaign at the Salina Art Center. Alternatively, enroll your children in dance, music, film drama or drawing classes. Susan was cremated and services will be private at the convenience of family.&nbsp;&nbsp;

William "Bill" T. Riordan passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023, 5 weeks after the death of his beloved wife, Susan. Bill was the only child of Vincent and Sylvia (Long) Riordan, born October 23, 1948 at St. John’s Hospital in Salina. He lived with his parents in Solomon until the family relocated to the Riordan homestead in Saline County. From a young age, Bill demonstrated diverse talents, first as a classically trained pianist starting in childhood and then as a small aircraft pilot in young adulthood. A devout Catholic, Bill attended Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas where he met Susan Kinney, who became his dear wife of over 50 years. Bill majored in social work and worked briefly in related fields before settling into a lifetime of work for the Social Security Administration. He briefly worked for the SSA in Coffeyville and Independence before joining the SSA satellite office in Salina, where he and Susan raised their four children over two decades. Bill remained deeply connected to his family’s farming roots throughout his life. He loved old John Deere tractors and adopted several throughout his life, using them to help maintain the land his Irish immigrant ancestors homesteaded in the 19th century. He never met a chainsaw he didn’t like, nor a tool he didn’t need. He loved getting his hands dirty fixing things that were broken. He had the Irish gift of gab and was always ready with a story. Or two. Or three. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Susan, and his grandson, Kurtis. He leaves behind his four children, James, Mary, Ann, and Jennifer; as well as the many friends he made over the years. His family would like to thank Lee Gay for all his help, as well as the hard working and loving staff at Legacy of Salina and Hospice of Salina for making Bill’s final days restful and free of fear and pain. Cynthia Josephine Mudloff, 57, passed away on August 04, 2023 at her home.

Cynthia was born on December 01, 1965 in Grand Island, NE to parents Joseph Wayne and Helen Jane Nealon Mudloff.

Worked in the hospitality industry as a baker/cook. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and doing crossword puzzles. She followed Nebraska Huskers football.

Preceded in death by: mother, Helen Mudloff; maternal grandparents, Maurice and Margaret Nealon; paternal grandparents, Peter Mudloff and Bernadine MudIoff.

Gabriel Tristen Mora, 27, of Salina, Kansas, passed away July 30th, 2023. He was born on May 24th, 1996, in Salina, KS, the son of Luis F. Mora and Kimberly K. Leiker.

Growing up, Gabe was always an adventurer who loved the outdoors, especially hiking, and riding horses at his grandparents’ house. He had a magnetic personality and never met a stranger. Gabe had an ear for music and a unique talent to play a variety of instruments well, and without any training. He enjoyed writing songs, playing guitar and piano. Gabe worked for Travelers of America and was training to become a Semi-mechanic. He was a gentle soul who would give anyone the shirt off his back.

Gabe was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Ronald Miller, Francisco and Delores Mora; and beloved childhood friend, Skylar Lewis.

Gabe is survived by his parents, Luis Mora, Kimberly Leiker &amp; Dave Riley; his Grandmother, Lula Miller; sisters, Amanda Moralez &amp; family, Katelyn Pancost Miller &amp; family, &amp; Jessica Hodges Moralez; brothers, Dalaney Roberts &amp; Aden Mora; cousin, Kayleigh Miller &amp; family as well as cousins, aunts and uncles.

George “Butch” E. Blosch, 77, of McPherson, KS, passed away on August 3, 2023, at home.

George was born on November 4, 1945, in Independence, IA, the son of Harry R. and Wilma E. (Brown) Blosch.&nbsp; He graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in Iowa.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On September 21, 1965, George was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Daleske in Eldora, IA.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two daughters, Lori and Dyan. George and Ruth shared nearly 58 years of marriage together.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was employed at Femco Inc. and Kansas Jack in McPherson. He then retired from Future Foam in 2011 after 13 years of admired employment.

George belonged to the First Presbyterian Church.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, camping, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and spending much valued time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth; two daughters, Lori Byington (Richard) of McPherson, KS and Dyan Chapin (Kyle) of Lyons, KS; three grandchildren, Emily Wills (Phillip) of Kansas City, KS, Eli Byington (Nicole) of McPherson, KS, and Tucker Chapin of Lyons, KS; and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Harry Blosch, and sisters, Nancy Mitchell and Cathy Sease.

The memorial service will be held&nbsp;at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor David Kincaid officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;

George “Butch” E. Blosch

Sue Sudduth, age 61 went to with the Lord on August 4, 2023, after a long hard fight with cancer.

Sue was born on October 2, 1961, to Peter and Rose (Fritz) Kupchunos in Hartford, Connecticut.&nbsp;The family moved to California when Sue was 3 years old. She was a 1979 graduate of Gladstone High School in Azusa, CA

She proudly married her best friend, Phillip Sudduth on June 28, 1981, in Covina, California. They were married over 42 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the happy marriage, they adopted and raised 3 children and one grandchild.

Sue worked for the Sisters of St. Joseph at the Motherhouse as a CNA for 10 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a member of the Crosspoint Church in Concordia.

Sue excelled at making their home beautiful. She was always working inside, or in the yard mowing or planting flowers. Whatever needed to be done, she was there. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Phil, her son Jack, daughters Jennifer and Carina, Granddaughter Melody and several grandchildren. Also, survived by two brothers Kenny Kupchunos of CA and Peter Kupchunos of Concordia. Many nieces and nephews, friends, and extended family.

Sue loved her family and friends and will be missed by all that knew her. &nbsp;

Visitation will be held from August 14,2023, from 9-11 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at August 14, 2023, at 11am, Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Celebrant Samantha Stennsaas presiding.&nbsp;Reception to follow at Cross Point Church.

Private family inurnment will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas at a later time.

She was a 1979 graduate of Gladstone High School in Azusa, CAShe proudly married her best friend, Phillip Sudduth on June 28, 1981, in Covina, California. They were married over 42 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the happy marriage, they adopted and raised 3 children and one grandchild.Sue worked for the Sisters of St. Joseph at the Motherhouse as a CNA for 10 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a member of the Crosspoint Church in Concordia.Sue excelled at making their home beautiful. She was always working inside, or in the yard mowing or planting flowers. Whatever needed to be done, she was there. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by her husband Phil, her son Jack, daughters Jennifer and Carina, Granddaughter Melody and several grandchildren. Also, survived by two brothers Kenny Kupchunos of CA and Peter Kupchunos of Concordia. Nathalie Ellene&nbsp;Mussemann&nbsp;of Hays, KS, formerly of WaKeeney, KS, passed away on August 3, 2023, at Hays Medical Center, at the age of 93. She was born on September 30, 1929, in WaKeeney to Clarence and Marie (Huber) Zeman. She married Frank&nbsp;Mussemann&nbsp;on November 23, 1948, in WaKeeney. They were blessed with four children: Dennis, Christine, Sharla, and Julie.

Nathalie grew up in WaKeeney and graduated from WaKeeney High School in 1947. She was the epitome of a farm wife and all it entails. After raising their&nbsp;children,she worked at the Dairy Queen and Bethlehem Lutheran Church as the Secretary.&nbsp;Following her retirement, Nathalie spent many hours enjoying the game of golf.&nbsp;She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bethlehem Daughters, Big Creek Ladies Golf, and F.O.E. Auxiliary,&nbsp;all of&nbsp;WaKeeney. She&nbsp;loved&nbsp;playing cards, especially&nbsp;bridge&nbsp;and pinochle, and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Birthday celebrations always included Grams homemade ice cream and chocolate sheet cake.&nbsp;

She&nbsp;was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Zeman and Marie Hands; infant son, Charles Lee;&nbsp;son-in-law, Don Holden;&nbsp;infant great-grandson, Maddox Albers; brother Dwayne Zeman; and sister, Nadine Powell.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in WaKeeney.&nbsp;Burial&nbsp;will follow in the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery in WaKeeney.&nbsp;Visitation&nbsp;will be on Tuesday, 9:30 AM until service time.

Nathalie Ellene Mussemann

Kermit Gene Wedel, M.D., a family physician and community leader in Minneapolis, Kan., for six decades, died peacefully on July 27 at the age of 90. He is survived by four children and his wife of 69 years, Kathleen.&nbsp;

Kerm, the son of Arthur A. and Elizabeth K. Wedel, was born at the family farmhouse in McPherson County on July 28, 1932, shortly after his identical twin brother, Ken. He told of his life growing up on the farm. He attended a one-room schoolhouse in McPherson County and Moundridge High School. He then attended Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. On Oct. 16, 1953, he married Kathleen Zerger at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine where his studies earned him selection into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society.&nbsp;

Kerm spent an extra year as a surgical resident in Wichita after medical school and then joined Ken in practice in Minneapolis in 1962. Ken and Kerm worked mostly at the Minneapolis Clinic (Wedel, Wedel and Barker), two blocks from Kerm’s home on Fifth Street, where he and Kathleen would raise their growing family. Besides raising their children, the two opened their home to medical school preceptors, foreign exchange students and friends and neighbors for numerous themed events.&nbsp;

In addition to being a skilled physician, Dr. Wedel was a recognized leader in the medical profession. He served his profession in many capacities, including serving as President of the Kansas Medical Society in 1982-83. He also served as KMS’ principal delegate to the American Medical Association for two decades. Dr. Wedel served as an associate professor in family medicine for the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Other roles included Governor’s Commission on Healthcare and the Board of Blue Shield of Kansas. He served as Vice President for Medical Affairs at Asbury/ Salina Regional Health Center and on their Boards for many years. In his 18 years as a board member at the Kansas Health Foundation they approved $336 million in grants improving healthcare and healthcare access.

Jerry Slaughter of the Kansas Medical Society recently wrote: “It’s hard to condense down into one paragraph the contributions he made over many years, but without question, he was one of the most impactful physician leaders we have had. He was generous of his time, humble, pragmatic, cheerful, always positive, and never sought attention or recognition for his efforts on behalf of the profession he so ably represented.”

The same sentiment can be said for his many roles in the local community and area. He was one of four community members to travel to Colorado to secure the purchase of the land that would become Rock City Park. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, held many leadership positions and was a charter trustee of the United Methodist Health Ministry Fund. He served as member and chair of the USD 239 Board of Education, a founder of the Ottawa County Community Foundation, president of the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce as well as the city council, including as mayor from 2016 to 2021. Later he enjoyed serving on the Rolling Hills Refuge Board for his close friend and travel companion, Charlie Walker.

Most people simply knew him as Kerm or Dr. Kerm – someone who would offer medical advice, a quick hug, or a smile and handshake on the street, or as he was grilling outside the alley entrance of the Blue Moon, the local “speakeasy” restaurant that he and Kathleen opened for Friday night dinners in 1997 and operated for over 20 years.&nbsp;

Upon their retirement in 2005, The Ottawa County Hospital memorialized Kerm and Ken’s service to the community by naming sections of the hospital in their honor.

In his leisure time, Kerm and Kathleen enjoyed watching KU football and basketball games and games in which their grandchildren played. One of his childhood memories was capturing pigeons in the barn of KU basketball player and later Kentucky basketball coach Adolph Rupp near Halstead. He enjoyed all sports and occasionally said that if he hadn’t been a doctor he might have been a baseball umpire.&nbsp;

He loved spending time at the family’s cabin on Greers Ferry Lake in Arkansas. This provided years of enjoyment for friends and for annual gatherings of all children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that was held each year and included teaching children, grandchildren and children of friends how to ski.

Kerm was preceded in death by his brother Delbert; his twin brother, Ken; and his sister, Leola. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; four children, Alan (Sandy) Wedel of Salina, Russ (Deb) Wedel of Hutchinson, Sonya (Mark) Siebert of Des &nbsp;Moines, IA and Mary (Mike) Mraz of Southold, NY; 11 grandchildren, Rachel (Pete) Stroer, Luke Wedel, Sarah (Derrick) Rowan, Kristin (Brian) McGuirk, Brett (Katrina Horner) Wedel, Emily (Ryker) Williams, Ben (Nina Pressman) Siebert, Matthew Siebert, Simon Mraz, Isaiah Mraz and Naomi Mraz; and six great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ethan Stroer, Elliot Wedel, Rose McGuirk, Jack Rowan and Mara Gene Siebert.&nbsp;

He was surprised and his heart was touched when after his 18 years of service on the board of the Kansas Health Foundation, the foundation presented a check for $25,000 to benefit the Ottawa County Community Foundation in his honor. He asked the contribution be used as seed money for a Public Health Fund. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kerm’s memory can be made to the Public Health Fund of the Ottawa County Foundation. Kermit Gene Wedel

James “Jim” Samuel Adams, 79, of McPherson, KS, and formerly of Wichita, KS, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023, surrounded by family at Salina Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; He was a retired plant manager for Spartech Plastics, previously Plains Plastics.

He was born on November 17, 1943, in Ralston, OK, the son of Oral Henry and Sally Jane (Wheeler) Adams.&nbsp; He graduated from high school in Shidler, OK.&nbsp; On December 17, 2004, Jim was united in marriage to Helen Louise Martin in Wichita. KS.

Jim was a United States &nbsp;Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 101st&nbsp;Airborne Division.&nbsp; He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.

In his spare time, Jim loved playing golf and spent countless hours with his dear friends at McPherson Country Club.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Survivors include: his loving wife, Helen of the home; a daughter, Rebecca “Becka” Leiblie (Joe) of Udall, KS; a son, Brad Adams (Mary) of Derby, KS; siblings, Lillian Murray of Lamar, AR, Ava Blanchard of Adair, OK, Robert “Bud” Adams (Betty) of Udall, KS, Aubry “Leroy” Adams (Janette) of Udall, KS, Nadene Clayton (David) of Indianapolis, IN, Darlene Sullivan (Mark) of Indianapolis, IN, and Patricia McElhany (John Everhart) of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, Mitcheal Adams (Emily), Melayna Adams, Derek Leiblie, and Whitney Leiblie; three great-grandchildren, Mia Adams, Cole Adams, and Cade Adams; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Eileen Hopkins, Iva Sory, and Violet Adams.

A Rosary will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson, with Fr. Benjamin Shockey officiating.&nbsp; The final resting place will be at the Resurrection Cemetery, Wichita, KS, at 2:00 PM.&nbsp; Military Honors provided by Kansas Army National Guard.

Lisa Ann Burlingham, 59, of Salina, passed away Saturday, July 29th, 2023 Lisa was born in Ottawa, Kansas on September 26, 1963, a daughter of Annie and Earl Sommer. Lisa was many things in this life. A friend. A confidant. A mother and sister. A grandmother and teacher. She was beautiful and warm and her presence alone lit up a room. She was loving and kind, but stern and solid when she needed to be. Mom taught us that hard work pays off and that nobody will take care of you besides yourself. She taught us strength and patience. And also how to make light of things in tough times. That’s what she would want. She would want us to grieve quickly and get back to it. She would not want to see us sad or letting go. She would not want us to give up or lose hope, because through everything that she endured, she always laughed and never gave up. She will be missed dearly by many. She touched many lives and improved countless more. She will never be forgotten, and she will never truly be gone. She will stay with us always in our hearts. We will continue on with her lessons and be reminded of her daily through little things and big things, and we will continue on her legacy that she gave us. We continue to make her proud. She will always be in our hearts to remind us that we are loved. We are individuals to be proud of. And that time will indeed bring us back together in the end. Anthony “Tony” Bernal, Sr., 85, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.

Anthony Leon Bernal, Sr. was born June 13, 1938, in the San Joaquin Valley of California, in the Community of Wasco, to Salvador Ernest and Delores Gertrude (Contreras) Bernal.&nbsp; He was the youngest of five siblings.

In his childhood, the family moved to Bakersfield where he attended parochial schools and city college.&nbsp; He married Marian Sifrit, and they were blessed with five marvelous children.&nbsp; Two of them, Baby Boy Bernal and Baby Girl Bernal, did not survive infancy.

Tony served honorably for four years as a medic in the United States Air Force.&nbsp; He was employed as a Production Control Coordinator by North American Aviation, the prime contractor for NASA’s Gemini and Apollo space program.&nbsp; After the successful human moon landing, the mission was accomplished and further space exploration was downsized.&nbsp; He enrolled in college and studied Business Administration and opened a bookkeeping and tax practice.

As he continued to age, he was more dependent on his children, Christina and John, for aid and comfort.&nbsp; Christina and her husband, Kip Goodson, welcomed him into their home to better care for him with assistance from Bluestem Pace.&nbsp;

The surviving three children are Christina “Chris” Sharon Goodson (Kip) of McPherson, KS, Anthony Leon Bernal, Jr. (Christiana) of Germany, and John “Chuck” Charles Bernal (Serwa) of Signal Hill, CA; as well as nine grandchildren, Michael Murphy (Alana), Samuel Bernal (Luzmarie), Derick Goodson, Jamie Goodson (Tiffany), Christopher T. Bernal (Leticia), Daniel Bernal, Christopher Bernal, Julia Bernal, and Oliver Bernal; three great-grandchildren, Michael Murphy III, Landrie Murphy, and Jameson Bernal; and sister, Angelina Gaona of Bakersfield, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Black officiating.&nbsp; According to Tony’s wishes, his ashes are to be dispersed in the Sequoia mountains of California where he often visited to commune for eternity.

Nicholas “Nick” Henry Von Lintel, 72, of Russell, Kansas, died on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital in Russell, Kansas.

Nick was born on April 16, 1951, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Lawrence and Theresa Marie (Rohleder) Von Lintel. He grew up in the Quinter area and graduated from Quinter High School in 1969. He met, fell in love, and was united in marriage to Mary Gayle Meier, on August 23, 1969, in St. Peter, Kansas. From this union they were blessed with 2 daughters Tana and Trina. They moved to Russell, Kansas in 2006, where he worked as a maintenance and repairman for the USD 407 School District. He was a longtime member with St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell. He enjoyed reading, working with his hands, remodeling his home himself and working on hotrods. He currently was working on his beloved 1948, Dodge Pickup and was trying to finish it before he became ill. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and being involved with his grandchildren.

Surviving family include his wife Mary of the home; daughters Tana Sells (Roger) of Russell, Kansas and Trina Yauch of Hays, Kansas; brothers Larry Von Lintel (Debi) of Goodland, Kansas and Bruce Von Lintel (Jamie) of Larned, Kansas; sisters Annette Reitmayer (Jerry) of Derby, Kansas and Kathy Blackwill (Jim) of Quinter, Kansas; 4 grandchildren Chelsea Eickhoff (Kenneth), Nick Sells, Brandon and Caden Yauch; 2 great grandchildren Karsen and Ryker Eickhoff. William “Bill” Bernard Weaver, 90, passed away on July 28, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society in Wamego, KS.

Bill was born on May 21, 1933 in Ellis, KS to parents Edward and Francis Brown Weaver.

He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

With only an 8th grade education, he owned and operated 2 successful businesses, Putt Putt Golf and Satisfied Flooring, both of Salina.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 1432 and American Legion Post 62 both of Salina.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Helen (Befort) Weaver on Sept. 8, 2007 after 53 years of marriage; Brother: Raymond Weaver; 2 Grandchildren: Rebekah in 1997 and Daniel in 2005.

Jeffrey Glen Cummings, 56, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Pawhuska, OK and Prineville, OR, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp; He was a cook at McPherson College and previously had cooked at various restaurants and assisted living facilities.

Jeffrey was born on June 9, 1967, in Ogden, UT, the son of Glen W. and Jean R. (Kendell) Cummings.&nbsp; He attended Tooele High School in Tooele, UT.&nbsp; On May 6, 2016, Jeffrey was united in marriage to Shilo Marie La Fon in Prineville, OR.&nbsp;

SOMERSET, MA -&nbsp;Gladys Marie Macomber, 85, formerly of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Born in Gypsum, Kansas, a daughter of the late Solomon Frank Holcom and the late Nellie Wilma (Hales) Holcom, she moved to Fall River in 2004, having also resided in Florida for a time.

A retail salesclerk for a number of years, in Salina at School Specialty Supply and at a Best Buy in Florida, Gladys had also owned a janitorial business in Salina providing housekeeping services for doctors and Asbury Hospital.

An avid reader, Gladys also enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, and gardening.

She is survived by her four children, Deborah Viveiros of Fall River, Tonya McConnell of Topeka, Kansas, Russell E. Macomber and husband Kevin Haertling of Orlando, Florida, and Victoria Lynn Macomber of Sanford, Florida; a sister, Jean Stanton of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Renee, Shawn, Christian, Niko, Anthony, and Michael; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Gladys was also a sister of the late Hannah Grill, Teddie Holcom, and Mildred Tharp.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary.&nbsp; Inurnment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kelly Chestnutt&nbsp;was born Oct. 18, 1958, in Hoisington, Kansas. Kelly passed away on July 25, 2023, in her home.

Kelly was married to Jim Chestnutt, her high school sweetheart, and they had just celebrated there 45th year of marriage on June 10th.

Kelly was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend.

She loved to work and had worked for K-mart for 20+ years before going to work for Crestwood, Dillons, and she also bartended at a few bars in Salina.

Kelly is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Barbara Randolph; uncles; aunts; and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Dustin Chestnutt; sisters, Nikki Snell and Raynetta Hubbard; brother, Robert Randolph; granddaughter, Kyla Chestnutt; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug 1st, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Ryan Mortuary.

Dennis Lee Embrey, 60, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at McPherson Hospital.&nbsp; He worked at Central Plastics and held the title of line setup operator.&nbsp; He was one of few employees on 2nd&nbsp;shift that covered more than one title.&nbsp; He worked as a material handler for several years, as well as a line operator and line prep.&nbsp; He also would be called upon to train new employees for each of these positions.&nbsp;

Dennis was born on August 5, 1962, in Chamberlain, SD, the son of Lewis Lawrance and Janice Louise (Kelley) Embrey.&nbsp; He graduated from McPherson High School in 1980.

Survivors include: his parents, Lewis &amp; Janice Embrey of Lindsborg, KS; a sister, Connie Stark (Claus) of Smithville, MO; a son, Steven Embrey of Schulenburg, TX; a daughter, Megan Valenta (Garrett) of Moundridge, KS; step-children, Brooks Johnson of McPherson, KS, Zach Johnson of McPherson, KS, Chad Richert (Justin Cook) of Kansas City, MO, AshLeigh Brodin of Kansas City, MO, and Sierra Kerbs of Joplin, MO; a niece, Marissa Stark of Lafayette, CO; four grandchildren, Daniel Scott, Gabe Embrey, Nathan Scott, and Zoey Scott; his beloved dogs, Skylar and Riley; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Edyth Rae Deckard - (Edie), age 72 of Emory TX, went to be with Our Lord in Heaven on July 3, 2023 in Tyler TX. &nbsp;

Edie was born on June 9, 1951 in Cuba KS to Edward and Helen Shulda. &nbsp;She was a 1969 graduate of Hillcrest High School in Cuba KS. &nbsp;After graduation, Edie attended nursing school. &nbsp;She worked at St. Joseph Hospital and several other medical clinics in the Concordia KS area.&nbsp;

In 2006 Bernie and Edie moved to Texas to enjoy lake life, and she continued her nursing career at Trinity Mother Frances clinics until retirement. &nbsp;Edie enjoyed dancing, singing, clogging and many pets along with spending time outdoors. &nbsp;She also enjoyed making floral arrangements, camping and fishing. &nbsp;She was an avid birdwatcher and loved nature, including all of the wildlife that would run through the yard.&nbsp;

Edie is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bernie Deckard of Emory TX, their daughter Alesha Halfhide (William) of Wichita KS, step-daughter Shelley Deckard of Newport Beach CA, brother Claygatt Shulda (Connie) of Cuba KS, sister Edna Hanzlicek (Dale) of Newton KS, and several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Cremation has taken place with Boren-Conner funeral home in Bullard, TX. &nbsp;

Lavone was a member of the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, was President of the Peace Officers Women's Auxiliary, and she was also an avid cross stitcher. Survivors include her daughter, Lorene Burch, (Roger), of Salina; three sons, Dennis Clark, (Jill), of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bill Clark, (Cathy), of Salina, Bob Clark, (Marian), of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Helen Irene Zimmerman, age 102, passed away on Thursday, July 20,2023, in Lakewood, Colorado,

She was born in Russell, Kansas May 4,1921 to Adam Fose and Kathrine Schneider. She worked as clerk and bookkeeper for several businesses in Russell and was Worthy Matron of Eastern Star.

Helen married Dean Zimmerman June 6, 1939. They were married for 68 years. Dean and Helen ran the Sky-Vu Drive In theatre in Russell for 32 years.

She was preceded in death by husband, Dean, daughter, Gwen Writer and son, Fred Zimmerman.

Helen is survived by daughter, Mitzi (Leo) Stambaugh of Denver, four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A private family burial will take place at the Russell City Cemetery in Russell, Kansas. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
