Paul Dennis Carpenter, a resident of Salina, KS, passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on June 18, 1946, in Junction City, KS, to Paul A. Carpenter and Irene R. Carpenter, Paul leaves a legacy of service, dedication, and love.
Paul proudly served his country as an engineer in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he embarked on a 41-year career as an engineer for Westinghouse/Phillips Lighting in Salina, KS. His commitment and expertise left a lasting impact on the community.
Preceded in death by his parents and sister Judy Arnold (Charlie).
He is survived by his loving wife, Retha L. Carpenter (Sigle), sisters Pam Bluemel (Mike), and Shirley Donovan (Leland), children Brenda Mettlen, Cindy Soldan (Lee), Dan Carpenter (Chrissy), and Paul L. Carpenter (DeAnna). Paul is also remembered fondly by his 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Paul's life was marked by his passions and interests. He found joy in woodworking, golf, biking, fishing, boating, and electronics. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he took pride in assisting his children with various projects.
An enthusiastic sports fan, Paul cheered on the Chiefs, KU, and KSU, showcasing his unwavering support for the local teams.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wounded Warriors United, reflecting Paul's commitment to supporting those who served.
A life celebration reception will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, at 1310 Columbine Circle, Salina from 1-4 pm, with an open invitation for family and friends to come and go as they please.
Paul Dennis Carpenter's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
