Russell Wayne Johnson, 60, lifelong Roxbury, Kansas resident, died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on January 15, 1964 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Raymond William and Lois Elaine Vidricksen Johnson.

For many years Russell farmed in the Roxbury area. He married Brenda Skinner in August 1982 and they later divorced.

Survivors include his children April Linder and husband Lynn of Ellsworth; Mason Johson with Kyle Williams in Hutchinson; and Rene Coyle and husband Doug of Hutchinson; brothers Jack R. Johnson of Roxbury, Peter W. Johnson of Canton, Georgia, Timothy A. Johnson of Branson, Missouri; sisters Amy Scott of Roxbury and Eloise Eickstadt of McPherson; along with four grandchildren.

Russell is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Clayton L. Johnson and Thomas E. Johnson.

Cremation has taken place and inurnment services in the Valley View Cemetery in Roxbury will be announced by Affordable Cremations Plus, Wichita, Ks.&nbsp;

Merle F. Binder September 15, 1937 ~&nbsp;June 3, 2024

Merle F. Binder, 86, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at the McPherson Hospital.&nbsp;

Merle was born on September 15, 1937, in Oak Hill, KS, the son of Fredrick T. and Alva L. (Lewis) Binder.&nbsp; He graduated from Longford High School in 1955.&nbsp;

On September 18, 1956, Merle was united in marriage to Noleen June Clark.&nbsp; This union was blessed with four children, Mark, Dan, David, and Ronda.&nbsp; Merle and Noleen were married for 63 years prior to her passing on March 6, 2020.

Merle and Noleen established their first home together in Clay Center, KS.&nbsp; In 1957, they moved to Wichita, KS until 1959, when they moved back to Longford.&nbsp; In 1966, the family moved to McPherson, KS.&nbsp;

Merle worked at McPherson Coop and then was an area seed salesman for Sommer Brothers Seed Company in Topeka and Rudy Patrick Seed Company in Hutchinson. He retired from Chemstar in McPherson where he was a corn mill operator.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was a member of the First Christian Church, McPherson.&nbsp;

Survivors include his children, Mark Binder (Cindy) of Garfield, AR, Dan Binder (Fay Ann) of Inman, KS, David Binder of Plano, TX, and Ronda Gilstrap (Douglas) of Wichita, KS; sister, Leona Woellhof of Oak Hill, KS; sister-in-law, Freda Binder of Texas; seven grandchildren, Chad Binder, Justin Binder (Taylor), Jessica Smith (Ty), Mallory Binder, Natalie Binder, Jason Gilstrap (Ashley), and Luke Gilstrap (Megan); nine great-grandchildren, Tinley Gilstrap, Tucker Gilstrap, Tess Gilstrap, Oliver Gilstrap, Nicolas Gilstrap, Shay Smith, Sloan Smith, Charli Jo Binder, and Wade Binder; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings, Calvin Binder, Ruth Proctor, and Wayne Binder

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at McPherson Cemetery. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the First Christian Church with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.

Steven Frank Ward March 31, 1958 ~&nbsp;June 1, 2024

Steven Frank Ward, son of the late Frank and Margaret Ward, was born on March 31, 1958, in Bussac, France. He passed away June 1st, 2024.

He graduated from Salina Central High School in 1976. He then went on to proudly serve in the US Army from 1980 to 1983 as a combat engineer.

For the last 29 years, Steve worked at Union Pacific railroad as a locomotive engineer.

He married the love of his life Brenda Hustus November 2nd, 1985. From this marriage, they had 2 sons - Eric and Andrew Ward.

Anyone who knew Steve knows that he loved Jeeps, adored his sons, and melted for his first granddaughter, Olivia. He greatly enjoyed country cruising with his wife, fried chicken, and American history.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ward of the home, his two sons Eric (Kayla) Ward, of Chapman, KS and Andrew Ward, Kansas City, MO. Sisters Linda (Dan) Magathan, Pamela (Randy) Jenkins, Kathryn Prather, Julie (Scott) Boyce, brother Michael (Sheila) Ward and one granddaughter Olivia Ward.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents and sister Beverly Fletcher.

In lieu of flowers, the family politely suggests memorials to the American Legion post 62 in c/o Roselawn Burial and Cremation Services.

Kathryn G. Clark, 84, passed away on May 30, 2024, at Homestead Assisted Living in Overland Park, Kan. She was born in Denver, Colo., on April 16, 1940.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 2019 and her parents, Wendell and Georgia Intermill.

Survivors are her brother, Ron Intermill, of Columbia, S.C., and sons Craig (Nancy) of Beloit, Kan.; Bryan (Julie) and Jeff (Jennifer) of Overland Park, Kan.; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The Cremation Center of Kansas City is in charge of arrangements, and a graveside service will take place at a later date.

Jack L. Craig Sr. August 17, 1947 ~ May 30, 2024

Jack L. Craig Sr.,76, of Enterprise passed away Thursday May 30, 2024 in Junction City, Kansas. Jack was born August 17, 1947 in Hutchinson Kansas, the only child of Ernest F. (Pete) Craig and Clemmie Scott Craig.

After Jack graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965, he attended Hutchinson Jr. College followed by Sterling College. While at Sterling, Jack spent two years as a fill-in minister at Abbyville Baptist Church. It was at Sterling College that Jack met Barbara Harms. They were married on June 7, 1970. Jack attended Central Baptist Seminary in Kansas City. Jack then took his first charge at First Baptist Church in Chapman, Nebraska. His ordination ceremony was held November 4, 1973. Jack and Barbara began their family in Nebraska with the birth of their first child, Susan, in July 1973, and son Jack Jr. (JL) in October of 1975.

On January 1 of 1978, Jack took his next charge at the First Baptist Church of Enterprise, Kansas. Jack’s youngest son, Scott, was born in Kansas on March of 1980. In addition to his time as a minister, Jack served as a substitute teacher as well as a volunteer firefighter both in Nebraska and in Dickinson County Kansas. In 1994, Jack became Sexton of Mt. Hope cemetery and served in that position until his death. In 1998, Jack retired from ministry in the Baptist Church. Jack and Barbara moved into Enterprise, and Jack then served as custodian of Enterprise Elementary school a position which he held for 19 years. In October of 2001, Jack came out of pastoral retirement and began serving the Solomon Yoked Parish where he served for 10 years.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara. Jack is survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Dr. Todd Frieze of Chapman; his son JL Craig of Enterprise; his son Scott Craig and his wife Samitha of Tacoma, Washington; and grandchildren Emma and Elyssa of Chapman and Haroun and Zaara of Tacoma.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Chapman United Methodist Church, 426 Sheeran Chapman, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, June 21, 2024 at the Chapman United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow the funeral service at Mt. Hope Cemetery south of Enterprise.

Raymond James Blevins Jr. January 3, 1940 ~ May 29, 2024

Raymond was born on January 3, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas. He is the son of Raymond Blevins Sr. and Dorothy Clinton Patry. Raymond joined the United States Navy, where he was able to serve his Country and further his education. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy, he went on to serve as supervisor for MPBXL, Dole and Hormel. When Raymond was not hard at work he loved to golf and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed horses. A large interest of Raymond’s was learning about the Cherokee Indian Heritage and their language.

Raymond, at the age of 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home in Benton, Kansas. He is preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Dorothy, stepmother: Margaret; grandmother: Clara Hanson; and sister: Esther Johnson. Raymond is survived by his wife: Beverly; daughters: Janie (Ron) McAllister, Judie (Larry) Whiteside, Merle (David) Cazier, grandchildren: Breanna (Tony) Chavez, Cameron (Tess) McAllister, Tyler (Dani) Whiteside, Chad Wolley, Jennifer (John) Barnaby, Carly (Brett Rohloff) Cazier; 18 great grandkids; sisters: Jacque (Darrell) Staab, Raylette Stuckey, and Charlotte Conner and many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life for Raymond will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the American Legion in Whitewater. Billie "Bill" Douglas Stout March 13, 1961 ~ May 31, 2024

Billie “Bill” Douglas Stout, age 63, passed away May 31st, 2024 ending his battle with pancreatic cancer. Bill departed the Ranch surrounded by his family. Born to Kenneth and LaDonna (Walker) Stout on 13 March 1961 in Salina, Kansas.

You could write a novel about a man who knew no stranger and lived life to the fullest. Bill grew up in New Cambria KS. He was a 1983 graduate of Salina Central. Young and full of wild energy, he worked for JC Rodeo, occasionally getting on some bulls himself. He had 30+ years at Beechcraft in Salina working many different positions until the doors closed. Bill then joined the maintenance team at Kansas State University in Salina. He worked his way up to Production Coordinator. Bill has also been a Reserve Deputy for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department and a member of the Saline Mounted Patrol.

Bill's love for people went far beyond just family. His generosity, sense of humor and selflessness will carry on through the people his life touched, for many years to come.

He is survived by: His mother LaDonna Stout; wife, Tori Stout; son Dustin Stout (Taylor Stout) kids Aubree, Charlie, Seeley; daughter Kenna Stout, kids Ruger, Qwincie; bonus son Logan (Marla) kid Dylan; bonus son Landon Smith; bonus daughter Laramie Smith, kids Ronan, Anakin; brothers Brad (Shelia), Steve (Charline), Dave (Alicia); Family and Friends. Preceded in death by: His father Kenneth Stout; Family and Friends.

Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., and funeral service to follow at 3 p.m., on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Tumbleweed, 5680 W Old Hwy 40, Salina.

He had 30+ years at Beechcraft in Salina working many different positions until the doors closed. Bill then joined the maintenance team at Kansas State University in Salina. He worked his way up to Production Coordinator. Bill has also been a Reserve Deputy for the Saline County Sheriff’s Department and a member of the Saline Mounted Patrol.Bill's love for people went far beyond just family. Joseph Blake Schaulis August 26, 1958 ~ June 2, 2024

Joseph Blake Schaulis, age 65, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 2nd, 2024, in Salina, Kansas.&nbsp; Blake was born in West Point, Nebraska, to Nancy and William Schaulis on August 26, 1958.

He graduated from Wisner/Pilger High School in 1976 then worked in the tire industry in Wisner, NE, Colorado Springs, CO, and Salina until his retirement in 2010.&nbsp; In addition, he enjoyed being CEO of Schaulco Farms for his family.&nbsp; He was happiest working on the farm alongside his dog.

Blake was preceded in death by an infant brother, Mother, Father, Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle and Jeanie Marie.

He is survived by brothers Brian (Jennifer) Schaulis, Mason Schaulis (Leigha Kern), sister Susan (Clint) Cox, cousins and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and visitors Thursday June 6th at Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner, Nebraska, from 4-7 pm.&nbsp; The inurnment will be at Madura Cemetery, Wakefield, Kansas, on Friday, June 7th at 4 pm.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Blake’s name.&nbsp;

Loretta M. (Vigna) McCormick September 11, 1935 ~ May 31, 2024

Loretta M. McCormick, 88, of Bavaria, KS, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Minneapolis Health and Rehabilitation in Minneapolis, KS.&nbsp; She received wonderful care during her final weeks in Minneapolis along with Interim Hospice of Salina.

Loretta, “Lori”, was born September 11, 1935, in Leechburg, PA.&nbsp; Daughter of August &amp; Theresa (Vota) Vigna.&nbsp; From her first marriage to Richard L. Cockroft, Sr. was born 3 children: Son; Richard Cockroft Jr. of Bavaria, his wife Laura Hopkins-Cockroft along with Granddaughter Ashley Strange and Great Granddaughter Lily Strange of Salina.&nbsp; Son; Larry Cockroft.&nbsp; Daughter; Sandra (Cockroft) Choitz of Ellsworth, her husband Dean along with Grandchildren; Blair Choitz Helvey (Joseph), Ethan Choitz of Concordia along with wife Amanda and Great grandchildren Cayden, Reagyn and Rhett.

Lori’s first marriage to Richard Sr. resulted in many military moves from Pennsylvania to Germany to Ft. Carson, CO., to Schilling Air Force Base Salina, (home of the waiting wives), all while Richard Sr. was deployed to Vietnam to Ft. Belvoir, VA &amp; to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO.&nbsp; Lori and her children ended military travel and chose to make Salina their home.&nbsp; She worked various jobs but was most proud of her years at Beechcraft.&nbsp; During this time, she met and married George McCormick which resulted in almost 40 years as a farmer/rancher wife in Bavaria.&nbsp; The last two years she made Eaglecrest Senior Living of Salina her home.

Preceding her in death were her Parents; Brother, Bob Vigna; Husband, George; Son, Larry; and Granddaughter, Blair.

Lori is not only survived by her Kansas family but all the extended family &amp; friends from her Pennsylvania roots.&nbsp; This includes Jane Bures-Hunt, Pat Verbena, Delores “Dee” Gagetta, Christine Vigna and all of her Leechburg school classmates that kept in touch all through the years.&nbsp; Pennsylvania was always a home that meant a great deal to her.

All who knew Lori understood her respect for those that served in the military along with their families, and all the work that Farmers endured, the love of animals, purple for K-State and most of all her Pittsburgh Steelers.&nbsp;

Lori’s wishes were to have a private burial and any Memorials be made to the Bavaria Community Cemetery, care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th in Salina, KS 67401.

Ray Wesley Smith October 5, 1927 ~&nbsp;June 2, 2024

Ray Wesley Smith died on June 2, 2024, at the Jewell County Hospital ISB in Mankato, Kansas. He was born October 5, 1927, to William W. and Martha Nell (Briggs) Smith on a farm three miles from Wauneta, Kansas. He was the middle of five siblings, Clyde and Mildred being older, and Mary and Vryl, younger.

Ray attended a one room country school for eight years, and then graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1945.&nbsp; Immediately after high school he enlisted in the Navy and served one year, with six months being on Guam. He enrolled at the Kansas State Agriculture College (now Kansas State University) and graduated in 1950 with a degree in Agriculture. He was assigned to Jewell County as an Assistant Extension Agent, soon accepting a job at Jewell High School teaching a Veterans-on-Farm training class.

Ray married Lila Whitaker on June 30, 1951, at the Methodist Church in Beloit, Kansas. They welcomed four children, Max, Roberta, Rebecca, and Barbara.

His on-the-farm teaching job continued as he began to get into farming. In January 1959 the family moved to Independence, Kansas where Ray was a salesman for Gooch Feeds. About a year later, a farm was purchased in Jewell County and the family moved back to the area in April 1960. Ray had said from the time he was young that he wanted to farm. He reached that goal and enjoyed farming and raising livestock for many years.

Ray was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church, the VFW, and the Jewell County Masonic Lodge. He served as a board member for the Jewell County Farm Bureau and the Jewell County Kansas Livestock Association, and was a founding member of the local Rural Water District Board.&nbsp;

He was an avid K State Wildcats fan, for years attending most football and basketball games, as well as multiple bowl games. Among other travel, Ray and Lila enjoyed frequent trips to Branson, MO and Yellowstone National Park.&nbsp;

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

He will be missed by his wife Lila, of the home; children, Max Smith (Stacey) of Mankato, KS, Roberta Walker of Lenexa, KS, Rebecca Donelan (John) of Salina, KS, and Barbara Krone (Jim) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Lindsay Osborne (Chad), Amanda Smith (Derek Rothfuss), Shelby Bohnert (Damon), Alexander Smith, Natasha Taylor, Nathan Walker (Allison Sullivan), Jeff Donelan (Deborah), Valerie Donelan (Brett Naylor), Laura Allison (Jon), and Jennifer Crafts (Kyle); 18 great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.&nbsp;

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Harmony United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Rice officiating. Arlene D. Hamel August 10, 1936 ~&nbsp;June 2, 2024

Arlene D. Hamel, 87,&nbsp;of Russell, Kansas, died on Sunday, June 02, 2024, at the Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell, Kansas.

Arlene was born on August 10, 1936, in&nbsp;Clyde, Kansas, the daughter of Harvey E. &amp; Marie Rose(L’Ecuyer) Harper.&nbsp;&nbsp;She grew up in Cloud County, Kansas on the family farm, located on the Republican&nbsp;River. &nbsp;She attended country schools until 6th&nbsp;grade, then attended Clyde&nbsp;Grade School and&nbsp;graduated from&nbsp;Clyde&nbsp;High School&nbsp;in 1954. &nbsp;She met,&nbsp;fell&nbsp;in love and was united in marriage to Joseph Ernest Hamel on November 12, 1955,&nbsp;in Clyde, Kansas. &nbsp;From this union Arlene and&nbsp;Erniewere blessed with&nbsp;seven children&nbsp;Lynette, Stan, Barb,&nbsp;Mark,&nbsp;Brian, Brad and Annette. &nbsp;The Hamel family lived&nbsp;in Hays, Kansas for a few years before moving to Russell in 1964. &nbsp;In 1988,&nbsp;Arlene went to work for the Russell County Court House in the&nbsp;court clerks office and&nbsp;retired in 2003. &nbsp;She is a longtime member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell&nbsp;and&nbsp;was a member of the St. Mary Church Cemetery Board. &nbsp;She enjoyed sewing,&nbsp;making quilts from used&nbsp;jeans for friends and family,&nbsp;reading&nbsp;and spending time with family. &nbsp;Most of all she&nbsp;enjoyed&nbsp;spending time and playing with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving family include her&nbsp;daughter Lynette Gross (Jeff) of Lincoln&nbsp;County, Kansas,&nbsp;son StanHamel&nbsp;(Pam)&nbsp;of Leavenworth, Kansas,&nbsp;daughter Barb Hake (Brian) of Omaha, Nebraska,&nbsp;son Mark Hamel (Melanie) of&nbsp;Russell, Kansas,&nbsp;son Brian Hamel (Lisa) of Bunker Hill, Kansas, son Brad Hamel of Papillion, Nebraska and daughter Annette Heald (Tracy) of Omaha,&nbsp;Nebraska; brother Rex&nbsp;Harper&nbsp;(Jolene) of Concordia, Kansas; sister&nbsp;Carolyn Nickerson (Duane)&nbsp;of Omaha, Nebraska;

19&nbsp;grandchildren and&nbsp;26&nbsp;great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband J.E. (Ernie) Hamel&nbsp;on January 15, 2004.

A celebration of the funeral mass of Arlene’s Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 06, 2024, at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Russell, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;Burial will follow at the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Russell.&nbsp;&nbsp;Viewing and&nbsp;Visitation will be from 9 A.M to 5 P.M. on&nbsp;Wednesday, June 05, 2024, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with family greeting guests from 3:30 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the mortuary. &nbsp;A Vigil and Rosary will be held at 7:15 P.M. on Wednesday&nbsp;evening&nbsp;June&nbsp;05, 2024, at the St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. &nbsp;Memorials may be given to the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery and sent in&nbsp;care of the mortuary. &nbsp;Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell, Kansas, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.

Ngan "May" Low passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

May was a longtime resident of Salina, Kansas and operated Mar's Restaurant until 1999 with her late husband, Kim "Bill" O. Low, who had passed away on August 27, 2016. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, three brothers, an older sister and her current late husband, Kim's son, Rickey K. and his first son.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty (husband Scott) L. and their two children; her late husband, Kim's daughters, Tammy (husband Robert) S. and Terrie (husband Tom) G. and their children/grandchildren; Kim's late son, Rickey's children/grandchildren; her younger sister along with many nephews and nieces from both sides spanning the United States, Canada and China.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 6th, 2024 at 1:00 pm with visitation prior from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel . Burial to follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.

Mason Dean&nbsp;May, 87, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 in Ellsworth, KS. He was born August 9, 1936 in Smith County, KS to&nbsp;Wardie&nbsp;and Alpha (Hillman) May. Mason married Margaret McDowell on August 16, 1959.&nbsp;He&nbsp;served his country in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve. Following his service, Mason was a career educator, coach,&nbsp;andadministrator in Goodland, KS and Phillipsburg, KS.&nbsp;Mason received his B.S. in Math Education from Washburn University<a></a>&nbsp;and his Master’s from Fort Hays State University.&nbsp;After&nbsp;his retirementfrom education, he relocated to Ellsworth.&nbsp;He&nbsp;later married&nbsp;Lesta&nbsp;(Worcester) Hoffman. He was a member of the Ellsworth Methodist Church, Ellsworth Kiwanis,&nbsp;and&nbsp;American Legion Post 174. Mason was very involved in the community of Ellsworth. He enjoyed serving on the Ellsworth Food Bank Board and helping with commodities distribution.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Mason is survived by his wife&nbsp;Lesta&nbsp;May of Ellsworth; daughters, Nancy Hoffman (Greg) of Ellsworth, Stacy Swan (Jeff) of Kansas City, MO, and Amy Pitcher (Camron) of Corona, CA; son Ronald May of&nbsp;Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Patrick Hoffman (Gin), Samantha Brannan (Kevin), Tim Hoffman (Leonie),&nbsp;Tye&nbsp;Soukup&nbsp;(Sadie), Tel&nbsp;Soukup&nbsp;(Kaylee), Larissa May, Camron Pitcher, Jr., Calvin Pitcher, and Kiara Pitcher;&nbsp;nine great grandchildren;&nbsp;step-daughter Susan Robson (Kelly)&nbsp;of Marion, KS; step-grandchildren, Bailey&nbsp;Edmondson (Jonathan)&nbsp;and Zachary Robson&nbsp;(Ellie); brother Jerry May (Patricia) of Wichita, KS; and sister Janice Powell (Dwight) of Salina, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents,&nbsp;first wife Margaret May, and&nbsp;brother&nbsp;Gene May.

Terri&nbsp;Lynn Moreland, 65, of Russell,&nbsp;Kansas, died on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Ellsworth Medical Center in&nbsp;Ellsworth, Kansas.

Terri was born on August 11, 1958, in Lamar, Colorado, the daughter of Mel and Mary&nbsp;Lou(Harmon) Polson. &nbsp;She was raised by her mother and&nbsp;stepfather&nbsp;Ron Moreland who adopted her at a young age. &nbsp;She grew up&nbsp;and lived most of her life in Colorado. &nbsp;She was blessed with a son Justin R. Morland and they moved to Russell, Kansas in the late&nbsp;1990’s. &nbsp;She worked for several years in Russell at Myers Furniture as a salesperson and bookkeeper, Meridy’s Restaurant and&nbsp;as a clerk at the Liquor Station. &nbsp;She enjoyed spending time having fun with her family and close friends.

Surviving family&nbsp;includes&nbsp;her&nbsp;half-brothers&nbsp;Brian Maul and Tony Maul and&nbsp;Aunt&nbsp;Linda Gibbs and husband Phil of Russell, Kansas, Aunt Donna Thacker and husband Bob of Russell, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother,&nbsp;stepfather,&nbsp;her son Justin on June 26, 2021&nbsp;and brother Brad Moreland.

Wilma Regier October 18, 1927 ~ May 30, 2024

Wilma was born on October 18, 1927, in rural Durham, Kansas at the family home. She is the daughter of Jacob and Pauline (Laufer) Geis. Wilma graduated from Durham High School with the Class of 1945. She then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree from McPherson College, where she was a History Major. Wilma married Herbert Regier on November 12, 1955, at the Durham Baptist Church. They first resided in rural Marion County, later moving into the town of Marion where they have resided since. In November, they will be married for 69 years. They had a daughter, Karen in 1957 and daughter Gail in 1960. Wilma was a homemaker until the girls were in upper elementary school. &nbsp;Wilma worked at the Welfare Department &amp; Hallett Construction as their secretary – retiring in 1987.

One of her biggest passions was researching her family history and genealogy. Wilma loved reading and was a very thoughtful person. She would send out letters and cards to family and friends with very meaningful messages, thoughts, and scripture picked out specifically for each individual. &nbsp;Wilma also taught Sunday School when her children were younger and was a member of the King’s Daughters of the Baptist Church in Marion. She also volunteered for the Red Cross collecting donations in rural Marion County. Wilma had many hobbies she enjoyed throughout her lifetime including studying and sharing her love of history with her children and grandkids, painting, sewing, and collecting any snippet of news or magazine article of interest she thought her loved ones would enjoy and find useful. She enjoyed cooking and baking traditional German family recipes, especially for holidays. Wilma shared Jesus to her family and friends by referencing scripture and generously loving others through all of life’s circumstances. She even shared the plan of salvation to one of her doctors in the ICU. &nbsp;

Wilma cherished every member of her family, which includes her husband, Herb of Marion, daughters, Karen Reimer of Wichita, KS, Gail Regier of Wichita, KS; 7 grandchildren: Kristina Deighton (Brian) Raymond, NE, Michael Reimer (Chrissy) Park City, KS, Andrew Reimer (Alyssa) Lakin, KS, Joanna Luerman (Jay) Great Bend, KS, Kara Davis (Morgan) Parkville, MO, Nathan Reimer (Jayne) Wichita, KS, Luke Reimer (Chloe) Glenwood, IA &amp; 12 great grandchildren Ryan, Kari, Jonathan &amp; Kaci Deighton, Roman, Barrett &amp; &nbsp;Olivia Reimer, Magnolia &amp; Elsie Reimer, Lane &amp; Cooper Luerman, &amp; Duke Davis. Sister-in-law, Edith Regier, brother-in-law, Eugene Christiansen, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Pauline, brother Robert Geis, infant baby brother &amp; son-in-law Wes Reimer.

Deanna Kay Klenda April 15, 1944 ~ May 29, 2024

Deanna’s life began on April 15, 1944, in Wichita, Kansas. She is the daughter of Albert and Pauline (Hanus) Klenda. Deanna was raised on a farm north of Marion and graduated from Marion High School with the Class of 1962. She then went on to attend and graduated from Kansas State University in 1967. Deanna moved to the Bay area of San Francisco, California where she worked for World Airways; flying charter flights all over the world. After she was a flight attendant, Deanna moved to Kayenta, Arizona and taught school on the Navajo Indian Reservation. In 1969, Deanna moved to Wichita and was a probation officer for 17 years. Later, in 2001, she moved back to the farm near Marion, and worked for the Funeral Home. She later retired full time and spent her later years in both Wichita and Marion.&nbsp;

When Deanna was not hard at work, Deanna was a member of the Wichita Bar Association Auxiliary for 15 years and served as President in 1980. She was also a member of the Kansas Court Services Officers Association. Deanna coordinated the National League of Families of POW-MIA in Southeast Asia. Deanna was very active in the St. Stephens’s Episcopal Church in Wichita, Kansas, where she served on the vestry in the early 80’s.

Deanna had two great passions in her life: her family and her mission to bring her brother, Dean, home. She adored her family, which included her sons, Gavin Peters of Wichita, and Kyle (Carla Martin) Peters of Daphne, Alabama; her daughter, Jillyn (Tray) Schmidt of Manhattan; and her grandchildren, Ezra Peters, Tripp Schmidt, and Bodey Schmidt. Deanna cherished spending time with her family at the farm, and her greatest joy was when everyone gathered for sunset in the sunset chairs. Deanna worked tirelessly to bring her brother, Maj. Dean Klenda, home after he went missing in action on September 17, 1965. Klenda was finally laid to rest on September 17, 51 years after his aircraft was shot down in North Vietnam. Deanna's mission was finally complete.

Deanna, at the age of 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home in Wichita, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents; Albert and Pauline, and brothers; Donald Klenda, and Dean Klenda.

Deanna’s family will gather with friends on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion, Kansas. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion, Kansas. Deanna will be laid to rest at Pilsen Cemetery. She was also a member of the Kansas Court Services Officers Association. Deanna coordinated the National League of Families of POW-MIA in Southeast Asia. Deanna was very active in the St. Stephens’s Episcopal Church in Wichita, Kansas, where she served on the vestry in the early 80’s.Deanna had two great passions in her life: her family and her mission to bring her brother, Dean, home. She adored her family, which included her sons, Gavin Peters of Wichita, and Kyle (Carla Martin) Peters of Daphne, Alabama; her daughter, Jillyn (Tray) Schmidt of Manhattan; and her grandchildren, Ezra Peters, Tripp Schmidt, and Bodey Schmidt. Deanna cherished spending time with her family at the farm, and her greatest joy was when everyone gathered for sunset in the sunset chairs. Deanna worked tirelessly to bring her brother, Maj. Dean Klenda, home after he went missing in action on September 17, 1965. Klenda was finally laid to rest on September 17, 51 years after his aircraft was shot down in North Vietnam. Deanna's mission was finally complete.Deanna, at the age of 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home in Wichita, Kansas. Evelyn “Jean” Britt age 84 passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene. She was born September 26, 1939 the daughter of Oval and Gladys Rosa Leah (Sowder) Abel in Hymera, Indiana. She lived in Indiana and Germany before coming to Kansas.

She married Duane Britt on October 13, 1956 in Abilene. Jean worked at Best Western Inn and Vacu-Blast and retired from Alco-Duckwall general office where she worked in the coffee shop for 21 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, step father M/SGT Wendell C. Reid, her son Steven R. Britt, brother James Abel, sisters Blossom Insley and Gladys Rosa Leah Reid.

Jean is survived by her husband Duane of the home in Solomon, sons Gary Britt and Dan Britt of Solomon, sister in law Sylvia Mickey, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

After retirement, Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, feeding the birds, sewing, reading, computer, and crossword puzzles.

Services for Jean will be at 10:30 am Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. Her final resting place will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery south of Solomon. Friends may sign the register book until service time at the funeral home. Lois Shotwell, 87, of Salina, Kansas passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2024. Lois was born on December 16th, 1936 to Paul and Vesta Stolzenburg of Clyde, Kansas. She was the youngest of five children and graduated from Clyde High School in 1955. Lois moved to Salina, Kansas where she met Thomas Shotwell of Buffalo, New York. They were married in 1957 and started a family.

Lois was a devoted mother to her two children, Kevin and Kyle. She enjoyed sewing and gardening in her free time, but her lifelong passion was singing. She was a member of the Salina Chapter of the Sweet Adelines and was a member of their quartet for many years. When her children were older, she started working for the Salina school system, where she worked for 26 years before retiring in 2001.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thom, who passed away in 2015. Lois is survived by her son, Kevin Shotwell (Tammi) of Kansas City, Missouri, along with her grandchildren, Grace Cunningham (Ronnie) and Rose Shotwell, both of Kansas City, MO as well as her two great grandchildren, Wells and Kole Cunningham. She is also survived by her sister, Doris McCall of New Cambria, Kansas.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Thomas Edward Webb, 75, of Salina, KS, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024. He was born on May 14, 1949, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Houston and Irene (Biever) Webb.

Tom earned a degree from Kansas State University and worked as a highway inspector for the Kansas Department of Transportation for many years.&nbsp; Tom enjoyed travel and was an avid reader of history.&nbsp;

Survivors include his brother, Ronald Webb (Camille), of Helsinki, Finland, and Plano, TX; sister, Saundra Carriker (Brent), of Las Vegas, NV; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gregory Webb.

Cremation was chosen and services will be announced at a later date, when he will be laid to rest with his parents in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery of Oklahoma City.

He was the beloved son of C. Orville Williams and Ruth Williams. Robert's life was one filled with love, warmth, and dedication to his family and community.

He was a loving husband to Janice Carol Williams, whom he married on May 20, 1967, in Council Grove, Kansas. Together, they built a life full of love and cherished memories.

Robert's educational journey saw him graduate from high school in his hometown of Dunlap, Kansas. He then went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard, showcasing his dedication to his nation and fellow countrymen.

In his professional life, Robert was a hardworking individual with a strong work ethic. He was known as a skilled landscaper and lawn mower, excelling in his craft. His attention to detail was evident in his work, especially when he cleaned and striped parking lots. Not only was Robert dedicated to his work, but he also served as the Mayor of Dunlap, Kansas, demonstrating his commitment to his community.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Robert had a passion for woodworking and gardening. These hobbies brought him great joy and allowed him to express his creativity and love for nature. His woodworking projects and flourishing garden were testaments to his skill and dedication to his interests.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Carol Williams, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished. He is survived by his loving sons, Christopher Williams (Mary) and Carl Mitchell, two brothers, David Williams and Richard Williams; and one sister, Pat Williams, who will carry on his memory with pride and love.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joanna Marie Jones, who left this world on May 29, 2024, at Pinnacle Park Nursing Home.

Joanna was born on January 14, 1964, in Salina, Kansas, to her loving parents Richard, and Lorna.

Joanna's life was filled with love, creativity, and compassion. She graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1982 and began her career at Flower Aviation as an aircraft fuller. Despite facing the challenges of a life-changing accident, Joanna always approached life with a positive attitude and a warm smile.

Joanna was a dedicated member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she found solace and community. Though her health prevented her from attending in person, she remained a steadfast prayer warrior, touching the lives of many with her faith and kindness.

An accomplished artist, Joanna poured her heart into her creations, whether it be through drawing, painting, or crafting. Her talents were a reflection of her big heart and her desire to bring joy to others. She also enjoyed bowling and excelled in the sport, earning numerous trophies as a testament to her skill and competitive spirit. Joanna's kindness and love for others knew no bounds. Her hugs were known to reach the soul, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She was a beacon of light in the lives of her family, including her Mothers Lorna Putnam and Martina Jones, her sister Becky, her brother Frank and his wife Jamie, numerous nieces, nephews, and one great nephew. Joanna is preceded in death by her father, Richard (Dick) Jones, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Thursday, June 6th, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. 8th St., Salina, Kansas. A funeral service to celebrate Joanna's life will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 1425 South Ohio Street, Salina, Kansas.

Ardis Belle (Bevan) Sutton passed on to her heavenly home on May 31, 2024. She was born at the family farm in Lost Springs, Kansas, on August 27, 1930.

Ardis attended the Lost Springs public schools where she was a cheerleader and active participant in her school activities. She was well liked by all her classmates and enjoyed spending time with them and their families. Ardis was a true believer that any acquaintance was part of her “bigger family.” She enjoyed people and gatherings and most of all, Bevan family reunions. She had many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and all enjoyed her happy, enthusiastic nature.

She had been blessed with four girls from a previous marriage to Louis N. Just. Darrel was happy to have a ready-made family and lovingly accepted his new daughters as his own. He and Ardis went on to have a son and their family was complete.Ardis and Darrel owned Sutton’s Shoppe, a vacuum and sewing business for many years. They continued to set outstanding sales records and Darrel won many trips and cruises because of his outgoing personality and expertise as a salesman. After retirement in the 1990’s Ardis and Darrel traveled extensively by R.V. They were able to visit all 50 states as well as several countries abroad. Ardis and Darrel enjoyed sharing their travel adventures with family and friends. They were a true team and epitome of a loving partnership and marriage.She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel; daughter, Becky Rageth; son-in-law, Barry Smock; parents, Burl and Inez (McMillen) Bevan; brothers, Robert and Ray; sister, Elaine Wyatt; and brother-in-law, the Rev.
