Gene Anthony Blochlinger

Gene Anthony Blochlinger, age 77, entered into rest on November 12, 2024, at the Sunset Nursing Home, in Concordia, Kansas.  He was born on August 3, 1947, to Paul and Lela (Istas) Blochlinger.

Gene was a 1965 graduate of Minneapolis High School, Minneapolis, Kansas.  He served in the United States Army National Guard and reached the rank of SSG.  He was honorably discharged.

On January 7, 1967, he married Judy Kay Householter at the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde, Kansas.

He went on to become a Barber for 17 years, after graduating from the Old Town Barber College.

He was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus.

Gene also worked for Associated Milk Producers Inc., Mid-America Dairymen Inc., which eventually were bought out by Dairy Farmers of America for 25 plus years before retirement.  Their family had previously lived in Hillsboro, Seneca before moving to Concordia in 2018.

He is survived by his wife Judy Blochlinger, Concordia, KS; three sons, Scott Blochlinger, Gypsum, KS; Darren Blochlinger (Ann), Millersberg, OH; Blake Blochlinger, Denton, TX; a daughter, Jaime Brennan (Brian), Poolesville, MD; brother, Kevin Blochlinger (Linda), Minneapolis, KS; three sisters; sister-in-law, Shelly Anderson (Jeff), McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Lela, a brother, Randy Blochlinger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kansas, with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.  Military honors will be provided by the Big Red One, Ft. Riley, Kansas.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary being prayed at 6:00 pm all at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, in Concordia, Kansas.  The family will receive friends after the Rosary Service.
