David G. Canfield, age 92, entered into rest on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit, San Antonio, Texas.&nbsp; David was born July 18, 1928 in Belleville, KS to Ivan M. &amp; Glennora (Smahel) Canfield.&nbsp;

David served in the US Army during WWII, alongside his father and brother.&nbsp; Upon his discharge, he completed his education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.&nbsp; He worked as the business manager for the Gelvin-Haughey Clinic.&nbsp; He was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #76 &amp; VFW Post #588 and a former member of the Elks Lodge.&nbsp; He was instrumental in establishing the Con-Kids Wrestling Club &amp; was an avid fisherman.

David was the loving husband of Gloria Canfield for 48 years; they were married on December 27, 1968.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2016.

David is survived by seven children; Mary (Canfield) Davis, San Antonio, TX; Michael Lambert (Hoberta), Joyce (Lambert) Jasper, Donna (Lambert) Huber (Doug), Terry Lambert (Robin), David L. Canfield (Lisa), all of Concordia, and Kimberly (Canfield) Lester (Dennis), Phoenix, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; Christopher Bieker, Timothy Bieker, Benjamin Davis, Leah and Keaton Lambert, Amber Lindberg, Lexie, Linzie, and Lacie Huber, Gage Canfield, and Taylur, Tyler, and Tara Boling &amp; 15 great-grandchildren.

David is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; parents; brother, Robert &amp; son in law, Jerry Jasper.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Jim Winter officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by Ft. Glen V Womochil 87 of Abilene passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born February 8,1933 in Elmo Ks The son of Howard and Vera (Westover) Womochil.

He attended the local school districts and graduated from Chapman High School. He served his country In United States Army.

On July 31, 1953 he was united in marriage to Beverly Chrisco in Enterprise Ks. In 1970 He started his own company call Glen’s Janitorial services owning and operating it for 45 years.

Glen is survived by his loving wife Beverly of the home. Two sons Glenn of Abilene, Vincent of Salina a Nephew Howard and wife Jamie of Abilene. Grandchildren Brandon, Kellen, Rylie all of Salina, Joel of Marion . A Niece Allison Nephews Tracyn and Shane. One brother Larry of Detroit. He was proceeded in death by his parents, siblings: Lyle, Gerald, Treva Schneider, Tyila Tyson, Tracy: Daughter-in-law, Carla and a Niece Tayla Womochil.

Hazel Kathleen Matthews Van Meter, daughter of Elsie (Sheets) and Ralph Matthews, was born October 2, 1927, in rural Lincoln County, Kansas. She passed away on September 25, 2020, having reached the age of 92 years, 11 months, 23 days.

Hazel was united in marriage to James Edwin “Skinney” Van Meter on May 18, 1946, at the Ada Baptist Church. They lived all of their married life of 54 years on their farm north of Ada. Skinney passed away on May 26, 2002. Hazel continued living on their farm until her death.

Hazel was a tireless supporter of the Ada community, where she lived her entire adult life. She was very involved with the Ada School and the Ada Baptist Church, where she was a member, as well as the treasurer for many years. Hazel was especially proud of the Ada Museum, which contains memorabilia and pictures about the Ada community. She treasured her involvement with the Ada Alumni Reunion. Hazel made wedding and anniversary cakes for many nieces, nephews, school bus kids, and friends.

Before she was married, Hazel attended Kansas Wesleyan University for a year and taught school for a year. After her children started school, she went to cosmetology school in Salina and opened a beauty shop in Ada, which she ran for many years. Hazel subsequently became a school bus driver for USD 239 for more than 25 years. She was also a nurse’s aide and a home health care worker.

Hazel was preceded by her husband Skinney; daughter JoAnn; son David; grandson, Matt Picolet; brothers Jackie, Danny, and Glen; sister Twila; and parents Elsie and Ralph Matthews.

Survivors include daughter Jeri Van Meter (Trace Kriegh) of Minneapolis and son Russell (Jana) Van Meter of Ada; grandchildren Angela (David) Oppenheim of Minneapolis; Stephanie Teasley (Rick Longnecker) of Pottersville, Missouri; Benjamin (Kasindra) Van Meter of Salt Lake City, Utah; Joshua (Amanda) Van Meter of Gig Harbor, Washington; and Jessica Picolet of Tescott, Kansas; and great grandchildren Aiden and Ada Oppenheim, Kaylee and Johnna Picolet, and Samantha Van Meter. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held&nbsp;<a href="x-apple-data-detectors://6">on Friday, October 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.</a>&nbsp;at the Ada Baptist Church, Ada, Kansas. Jean Neaderhiser, 92, Salina, was born November 20, 1927 in Salina to Arthur and Edith (Reigle) Quinn, died September 26, 2020 at Minneapolis Health and Rehab. She moved to the family farm west of Bennington in 1929, graduated from Bennington, attended business school in Salina, and worked for a year at the Salina water department.

Jean married William “Bill” Neaderhiser on March 9, 1946, living in Salina until they moved to a farm 1 1/2 mile southeast of Benninigton in 1949. Farming until the later 1960s, they moved into Bennington, opening Memory Lane Antiques in the old lumberyard.

They grew many pretty flowers along the west edge of their house and business. Bill credited their beauty to Jean persistently snipping flowers after blooming.

Jean was a hard working, dedicated homemaker, and consistently provided well for her family. She made artistic crafts--woven willow wicker baskets, copper pictures, candles...

Jean was a good cook, and Bill proudly said that she always had a warm, tasty, well-appreciated meal waiting for him in the oven, no matter how late he ate supper. She made exceptional angel food cakes.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Loving to drive a car, Jean came close to her dream of being a cab driver, when she began delivering prescription drugs for Salina’s B and K Pharmacy. For many years, her family teasingly called her their “drug runner.”&nbsp;

Preceding her in death were her husband, Bill (2008); her son Stephen (2013) and her brother, Dr. Art Jay Quinn (August 29, 2020). Art’s obituary found online at Strode Funeral Home, Stillwater, Oklahoma.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dale Eugene Oliver, 96, passed away Sept. 26, 2020, at Medicalodges 
of Great Bend.&nbsp; He was born July 1, 1924, in Salina, the son of Thomas 
O. and Effie (Skaggs) Oliver.&nbsp; He moved to Great Bend from Salina in 
1961 to join Security State Bank from which he retired in 1988 as Vice 
Chairman and CEO.&nbsp; Later he served as a Member Relations Consultant for 
the American Bankers Association.&nbsp;

He was a director of the Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau, 
BCC Foundation, Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Council of 
Economic Education, University of Kansas Greater University Fund and the
 Community Hospital Association.&nbsp; He also was a former Campaign Chairman
 of the Great Bend United Way and served the Kansas Bankers Association 
as a member of the Governing Council plus several KBA Commissions, as 
well as an Associate Councilman for the American Institute of Banking 
and President of the local chapter of the Bank Administration 
Institute.&nbsp; He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and attended Trinity 
Lutheran Church.

He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Kansas, a member of Phi 
Delta Theta, social fraternity and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, 
honorary business school society.

He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater with 773rd 
Amphibian Tractor Battalion, United States Army, in World War II, and 
was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service of Keise Shima, 
Ryukyo Islands.

On November 14, 1954, he married Donna Jean Deines, in Salina.&nbsp; She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Daniel D. and wife Julie of Raleigh
 N.C., and David E. and wife Eva of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Sarah A.
 Morris and husband Dave of Salina; seven grandchildren, Tim Oliver, 
Katie Oliver, Ted Oliver, Chloe Oliver (Ben Apple), Amanda Ewertz 
(Branden), Abby McKinney (Chris) MacKenzie Morris, and by five great 
grandchildren.&nbsp; He was preceded in passing by one brother, Thomas O. and
 one sister, Marjorie Joan Cregger.

There will be no visitation.&nbsp; Private graveside services will be held
 at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, with Rev. Jon Brudvig presiding.&nbsp;

Donna Rae (Pettet) Carlson, 85, found peace on September 24, 2020 in Salina, KS.&nbsp; She was born in Clay Center, KS on August 30, 1935 to Claude and Irene (Forslund) Pettet.

Donna is survived by sisters Iris Rouse of Clay Center, Beverly (Rex) Steward of Topeka and Shirley Bristol of Portland, OR.&nbsp; Daughter-in-law Janet Carlson, grandchildren Saralyn Szyndlar and Kyle (Courtney) Carlson, and great-grandchildren Malina and Jakub Szyndlar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dale Pettet, sister Barbra Michel, son Everell (Rick) Carlson Jr. and infant daughter Christine Marie.

Donna was married to Everell Carlson Sr. in 1953 and later divorced.

She was raised in Clay Center, KS and graduated from Clay Center Community High School.&nbsp; She lived most of her life in Kansas except for the 20 year period she was in Austin, TX to live near her sister, whom she loved to travel with.&nbsp; She returned home to Kansas in 2009.

Donna was an amazing knitter and artist, completing a multitude of paintings and acrylic figurines in her lifetime.&nbsp; She made sure no holiday went by without sending a handmade card to her grandchildren.&nbsp; Her skills in the kitchen kept all visitors well fed, especially with sweets.

Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her memory, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her daughter’s memory or the Tammy Walker Cancer Center in her son’s memory.

 </figure>Donna Rae (Pettet) Carlson, 85, found peace on September 24, 2020 in Salina, KS.&nbsp; She was born in Clay Center, KS on August 30, 1935 to Claude and Irene (Forslund) Pettet.Donna is survived by sisters Iris Rouse of Clay Center, Beverly (Rex) Steward of Topeka and Shirley Bristol of Portland, OR.&nbsp; Daughter-in-law Janet Carlson, grandchildren Saralyn Szyndlar and Kyle (Courtney) Carlson, and great-grandchildren Malina and Jakub Szyndlar.She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dale Pettet, sister Barbra Michel, son Everell (Rick) Carlson Jr. and infant daughter Christine Marie.Donna was married to Everell Carlson Sr. in 1953 and later divorced.She was raised in Clay Center, KS and graduated from Clay Center Community High School.&nbsp; She lived most of her life in Kansas except for the 20 year period she was in Austin, TX to live near her sister, whom she loved to travel with.&nbsp; She returned home to Kansas in 2009.Donna was an amazing knitter and artist, completing a multitude of paintings and acrylic figurines in her lifetime.&nbsp; She made sure no holiday went by without sending a handmade card to her grandchildren.&nbsp; Her skills in the kitchen kept all visitors well fed, especially with sweets.There will be no services at this time.Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her memory, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her daughter’s memory or the Tammy Walker Cancer Center in her son’s memory.

She worked at Dole Packing Plant making the bacon! Pearl enjoyed quilting and was a member of the East Side Christian Union Church in Springdale, Arkansas until moving to Whitewater in 2002.

Her loving family includes her daughter, Bonnie Westerfield (Larry) of Whitewater; brothers, Lonnie Watson, Gary Watson (Janet) all of Springdale, Arkansas; sisters, Gracie Waddell of St. Louis, Missouri, Frieda Howell (Sam) of Wichita, Inavern Kissinger of Conway Springs, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Theresa Toews (Jeff) of Whitewater, Pam Edgmon of Wichita, Robin Bowen (Brian) of Whitewater, Crystal Westerfield of Birmingham, Alabama, Michelle Holle (Scott) of Valley Center, Kansas, Becky Kahle (Devin) and Todd Westerfield all of Whitewater; 16 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Linda Diane Fike Peterson was born on November 3, 1950, to Warren and Paula (Mueller) Fike in Herington, KS. She shared her birthday with her Grandpa HFK Mueller.&nbsp; She is the oldest of the seven Fike children. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan Peterson on December 21, 1968.

Linda was a very caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and community member.&nbsp; She consistently embraced the spirit of service above self.&nbsp; Burdick Relay for Life, the Centre School Board, Marion County Commissioner, Burdick United Methodist Women, Labor Day parade chairman, Marion County Special Education Board President, Kansas Association of Counties Board of Directors, and North Central Flint Hills Area Agency of Aging Advisory Council are some the many capacities that Linda enjoyed serving.

You could also find Linda hauling wheat during harvest or on a Heartland travel trip to destinations around the country.&nbsp; She loved sports. Linda enjoyed coaching and playing softball.&nbsp; Dan and she spent countless hours and miles traveling to many places including Brookville, Eudora, El Dorado, Iowa, Kentucky, and even Hawaii to watch their grandchildren’s competitions and activities.&nbsp;

Linda passed away peacefully at her home on September 22, 2020. Richard H. Middleton, 63 of Carlton passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, September 24, 2020. He was born August 17, 1957 in Plymouth, Indiana, the son of F.L and Eva (Judkins) Middleton. 

He grew up in the Batesville, Arkansas area, attended the local school where he was a defensive tackle in football and received his GED. 

He later joined the United States Marine Corp. On October 22, 1988.

He was united in marriage to Cindy Hosie in Abilene, Kansas. She survives of the home. 

Richard was the Senior Pastor at the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Abilene where he pastured for 20 years. 

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family. 

He loved serving the Lord and being with his church family. 

He belonged to The Men of Valor of Navarre, Ks. 

Richard is survived by his loving wife Cindy of 31 years. Daughters: Danielle Middleton (Eddie); Amanda Owens (Bruce); Elizabeth Gentet (Bryan). Sons: Richard Middleton (Tammy) and Daniel Middleton (Marcella). His mother, Eva Lois Judkins, fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brothers: Bill Middleton, Michael Judkins and Joe Cox. Sisters: Vernell Ballard, Terecia Judkins, Frankie Rice and Ann Middleton. 

He was preceded in death by his father, F.L. Middleton, Sisters: Pam Hitchcock, Barabra Neldon, Donna Parker and Dorthy Stockburger Brothers: Delbert Middleton and Richard Everett Middleton and infant granddaughter.

Kenneth J. Miller 94, passed away September 22, 2020. He was born October 30, 1925 to Gwen H. and Louise M. (Raymond) Miller in Greensburg, KS. 

He grew up in Minneola and Meade, KS,moving to Greensburg, KS his senior year in High School, graduating in 1943. 

He was active in the Boy Scouts earning his Eagle Scout aware with two palm branches in 1936. 

He enlisted in the Marine Corp September 1943 at the age of 17. After High School he was deployed to California where he was a member of the Marine Raiders prior to the group being dismantled during WWII. The members of the Raiders were dispersed to other units and Ken was transferred to the newly formed Co A, 1st Battalion, 28th Marines, 5th Marine Division. He landed on Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945. Ken was wounded March 2, 1945 for which he was awarded the Pearl Heart. He was discharged December 1945 at the rank of Corporal. 

After discharge from the Marines, he attended Southwestern College in Winfield, KS, where he played football and basketball, graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He earned his Masters Degree in Education in 1971 through Emporia State University.

He married Sally Elliott in 1950 and to this union were born four children: Kenneth Michael, Brenda Jo, Kelly Eugene, and Claudia Rae. 

He taught Industrial Arts and Drafting at the High School level and was football, basketball, and track coach. During his teaching career, he taught &amp; coached at Coats, Sylvia, Inman, Kingman and finally Solomon, KS. He loved teaching and coaching impacting the lives of many young men and women during his 37 years in education.

Ken married Kaylene Liston Riffel in 1979. 

After his retirement, they lived in Granby, Co where he built their dream home. He enjoyed the mountains and skiing. They remained in Colorado 21 years, returning to Chapman, KS 11 yrs ago. 

He is survived by his wife, Kaylene of the home, children, Mike (Carrie) Miller of Hutchinson, KS, Brenda Moorman of Tigard, OR, Kelly (Raylene) Miller of Clearwater, KS, Claudia (Larry) Nelson of New Cambria, KS, step-son, Brian Riffel of Lenexa, KS, nine grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren, his sister, Marty Koch of Dublin, OH, and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife Sally Walker, parents, and two brothers.

Visitation on Sunday, September 27 at Martin Becker Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene from 9:00 am to 5:00pm. Military Graveside services will be Monday, September 28 at 1:00 pm St. John’s Cemetery, Junction City, KS. Memorials may be made to the Dickinson County Home Health &amp; Hospice in lieu of flowers. On February 16, 1968, Richard married Sharon Long in Salina.

Survivors include five daughters, Jolyne Alexander, (Kevin), of Iola, Kansas, Linda Bledsoe, (Bob) of Salina, Erie Houltberg, (Loren), of Salina, Janice Wearing, (Mike), of Salina, Lisa Nestler, (Rusty), of Salina; four sons, Randy Main, of Salina, Tim Main, (Linda), of Salina, Mike Main, (Marla), of Salina, Bill Main, (Teresa), of Ardmore, Oklahoma; sister, Jean Eberhart, of Salina; 27 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.

He is preceded in death by his son, James R. Main; brothers, Art and James; sisters, Opal and Betty.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 30th at Emmanuel Foursquare Church in Salina, Kansas.

Eula Lee (Grace) Clark, 90, Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully September 23, 2020.&nbsp; She was born in Ada, Kansas on July 20 1930 to Lee and Velma Grace.&nbsp; The family later moved to Minneapolis, Kansas, where at the age of 11 she met the love of her life.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years Robert B. Clark, parents Lee and Velma Grace, brother Stanley Grace.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Lee’s greatest passion was the love of her family.&nbsp; A deeply devoted wife and mother she excelled at both.&nbsp; While involved with several philanthropic organizations throughout the years, her true passion was crocheting crosses of various colors.&nbsp; Giving them away to friends and strangers she would encounter along life’s journey.&nbsp; She would say “it was her ministry”.&nbsp; As an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan, Lee was a season ticket holder for years.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan; sons, Kevin and Linda and Bill and Amy; four grandchildren, Chris, Steven, David, and Kenzie; three great-grandchildren, Zaden, Silas, and Sienna; sister, Nedra Perry and her husband Rich; and many beloved&nbsp; family members. Clark, parents Lee and Velma Grace, brother Stanley Grace.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lee’s greatest passion was the love of her family.&nbsp; A deeply devoted wife and mother she excelled at both.&nbsp; While involved with several philanthropic organizations throughout the years, her true passion was crocheting crosses of various colors.&nbsp; Giving them away to friends and strangers she would encounter along life’s journey.&nbsp; She would say “it was her ministry”.&nbsp; As an avid Oklahoma Sooners football fan, Lee was a season ticket holder for years.She is survived by her daughter, Jan; sons, Kevin and Linda and Bill and Amy; four grandchildren, Chris, Steven, David, and Kenzie; three great-grandchildren, Zaden, Silas, and Sienna; sister, Nedra Perry and her husband Rich; and many beloved&nbsp; family members. James Curtis Logbeck, known by most people as “Jim”, departed his earthly body on Saturday, September 19, 2020, and headed for his next destination. Jim believed in eternal salvation and believed in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Jim was born June 28, 1934, in McPherson, KS, the son of Vern and Helen Logbeck. As a youngster in McPherson, Jim’s first job was working as a shoe shine boy in the Warren Hotel, later working as a paper boy, delivering newspapers for the McPherson Daily Republican. He then worked at the concession stand at the Manor Theater where he also worked in the projection booth. He continued doing these jobs all the way through junior high school and high school. During his senior year in high school, Jim tied for 1st place in a statewide physics contest.

After high school, Jim went to Kansas State University in Manhattan where he majored in electrical engineering. After his sophomore year, he went to work full time for a movie theater chain as a projectionist, manager, and later as a traveling sound engineer.

Jim was drafted into the Army and served a total of six years, including his reserve time. He then returned to Kansas State University after a nine-year break, graduating in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. His first job after college was working for Collins Radio Company in Richardson, TX. He worked with their high-power HF radio group as a junior engineer and accompanied six prototype transmitters to California, supervising the installation of three transmitters near Dixon, CA and three more near Delano, CA. He was in charge of about 20 technicians, numerous electricians, glazier’s and others from the local unions in California. The job took approximately two years, and each radio consumed 500,000 watts of electricity and took up about 10,000 square feet. Jim enjoyed his years in California and often visited his sister, Martha, in Alameda, CA. He also learned to fly and earned his pilot’s license during that time. Jim enjoyed flying a great deal.

Collins Radio had a contract with the United States Army Signal Corps in Vietnam, and Jim volunteered to become a supervisor of that operation. He left for Saigon in March of 1968 and remained in Vietnam until March of 1971. While there, he ran Collins Radio operations and also had a desk at the First Signal Brigade Base at Long Binh. In this role, Jim travelled all over south Vietnam, often to remote locations to enable communications across the country for various military operations. He then travelled from the northern border of south Vietnam to an island in the South China Sea. He would be transported there by helicopter, command aircraft, or a C-130 tanker. To say this job was dangerous would be an understatement. Jim had numerous technical personnel under him and also hired about a dozen Vietnamese to work in the Saigon facility.

Jim returned to the United States in March of 1973 and landed in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism. With his sister Martha’s help, he made a full recovery and returned to Dallas and worked as a microwave systems engineer. Jim then took a job in a supervisory position in Alaska where he and his team provided communications to various missile sites that protected the United States from an incoming attack. Jim spent five years in Alaska and enjoyed the fishing and made many friends. He returned to Dallas in October on 1978 and worked in logistics on a TACAMO upgrade project. TACAMO is a very low frequency transmitter used in submarine radio transmissions. The following years were spent in highly classified projects for various agencies and military organizations.

Jim had operations in Puerto Rico, Panama, various South American countries, and Kuwait, wrapping up his career with a few projects in Australia. He had always wanted to retire at age 60 and in fact, was able to do so on his 60th birthday. In his retirement years, he returned to Alaska many times, as well as California and various other places. In Jim’s own words, “I had a good and exciting life!”

Survivors include: two brothers, Frank Logbeck (Marilyn) of Rose Hill, KS and Delbert Logbeck of Fort Worth, TX; one sister, Martha Exline of Laguna Hills, CA; and dear friend, Oscar Newburn of Richardson, TX; and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Sally Pattengill and Wayne Logbeck.

James was in the United States Airforce for 20 years.

Ila J. Loe, 88, Glasco, died Wednesday, September 23, 2020. She was born, September 12, 1932 in Beloit, Kansas to Orville and Mable (Cook) James.&nbsp;

Delmar and Ila were united in marriage on May 25, 1952 in North Hollywood, California.&nbsp; They were married for 52 years and had six children.&nbsp;

Wayne Fredrick Siemsen died at the age of 62 as a result of an auto accident March 30, 2020 in Godley, Texas. Wayne was born Sept. 27, 1957 to Helmer and Verona (Peterman) Siemsen.

Wayne graduated in 1976 from Ellsworth High School. He married Susan Snook May 26, 1982. After jobs at the local salt mine and with Missouri Pacific Railroad, he settled into a successful 32 year career in wine sales, which allowed Wayne and Susan to live in several states including New Mexico and Colorado, where they became avid snow skiers. After a move back to Lawrence, Kan., their daughter Natalie was born.

Eventually settling in Godley, Texas, Wayne and his family developed a love of animals, adopting several. Wayne was active in Natalie’s school band career, never missing a performance. Wayne loved music, photography, and was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and was thrilled to see his beloved Chiefs win the Super Bowl.

Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, and brother, and was a friend who showed compassion to those in need. He had an infectious personality and sense of humor. Wayne gave 100 percent to life every day, and loved Susan and Natalie immensely. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan; daughter Natalie; sisters May Anderson, Ellsworth; Sandy McCoy, Mulvane; Linda Webber, Ellsworth; and brother David Siemsen, Salina.

Franklin L. Gilchrist, 78, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Garden City to Aphrodite Angeles and Louis Gilchrist and married Janette J. (Agin) Gilchrist on June 20, 1970; all of whom preceded him in death.

Frank was a 1960 graduate of Garden City High and studied at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and Kansas State University. He served in the ROTC from 1962-1963, and in the Air National Guard from 1965-1971. Frank worked as an executive for Dillons food stores and later in life owned and managed several small businesses in and around Salina.

Frank had a green thumb, and loved to share his gardenâ€™s bounty with all. He enjoyed nothing quite as much as spending a Saturday morning on the tennis court, and was especially proud of the tournaments and championships he won. â€œPhrankâ€ was the original dad-joker, and relished any opportunity to make people laugh.

Survived by: son, Lance (Alison); daughter, Carrie Gilchrist (Nils-Petter Ankarblom); brother-in-law, James Agin (Sally); nephew, Scott Agin (Kjersten); stepmother-in-law, Arlene Sias-Agin; stepbrother-in-law, Pete Sias (Ruth Moritz); stepsister-in-law, Kathleen Kelley; and beloved granddaughters, Gracelyn Gilchrist and Agnes "Aggie" Ankarblom. In addition to his wife and parents, Frank was preceded in death by a sister, Janett Fehrenbacher.

A private interment was held on September 21, 2020 at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family plans to hold a celebration of his life at a later date.

 </figure>Franklin L. Gilchrist, 78, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020. He was born on May 18, 1942 in Garden City to Aphrodite Angeles and Louis Gilchrist and married Janette J. (Agin) Gilchrist on June 20, 1970; all of whom preceded him in death.Frank was a 1960 graduate of Garden City High and studied at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, and Kansas State University. He served in the ROTC from 1962-1963, and in the Air National Guard from 1965-1971. Frank worked as an executive for Dillons food stores and later in life owned and managed several small businesses in and around Salina.Frank had a green thumb, and loved to share his gardenâ€™s bounty with all. This will be an informal gathering in memory of Jon that will begin at 2:00 PM and friends are welcome to come and go as they wish. Casual attire is requested.

Jon R. Snapp, 49, of Belleville, KS, passed away on September 1, 2020 at Republic County Hospital, Belleville, KS. Jon was born March 28, 1971 in Manhattan, KS the son of Lawrence B. Coleman, Jr., and Dianna K. (Trzicky) Snapp. Lawrence was killed in Vietnam when Jon was 4 months old and was later adopted by Thomas J. Snapp when he was 6 years old.

Jon grew up in Belleville and graduated from Belleville High School in 1989. He then attended Arizona Automotive Institute where he received degrees in diesel mechanics and automotive technology. Jon worked for Ken-Boy Motors in Hebron, NE until 1998 as a service manager and mechanic. He then owned and operated Snapp’s Service on Highway 36 in Belleville with his wife Karen for 6 years. Jon then began working for Melton Motors and was still employed there up until his cancer diagnosis. In addition to being an ASE Certified Mechanic, he was a General Motors Master Technician. In 2007, Jon was named a World Class Technician, a highly prestigious award from General Motors.

On June 27, 1993, he was united in marriage to Karen Morrissey. In 1995, Jon (at only 24 yrs. old) and Karen graciously adopted three teenage children: Jeremy, Shannon, and Amy.

Jon was an Eagle Scout and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Belleville, KS. He was a musician and played drums in the high school band. Jon was a self-taught craftsman. He had an amazing ability to repair or build any project you placed before him. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and in the great outdoors.

Jon was preceded in death by his biological Father, Lawrence B. Coleman, Jr; his grandparents, George &amp; Jane Trzicky and Bill &amp; Wilma Snapp; and his Father-in-Law, William Morrissey.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Snapp of Belleville, KS; Children, Jeremy R. Snapp of Marquette, KS, Dr. Shannon (Randall) Snapp of San Francisco, California, and Amy Michelle Frank of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Emilie Snapp, Lily Frank, and Ronan Fleming; Parents, Tom and Dianna Snapp of Belleville, KS; one Brother, Jeremy J. (Gretta) Snapp of Belleville, KS; Sister-in-law, Kathy (Mark) Jarvey of Chino, California; Brother-in-law, James (Tanya) Morrissey of Kansas City, MO; Mother-in-law, Neomia Morrissey of Belleville, KS; niece and nephew, Frankie &amp; Farmer Snapp; other nieces /nephews &amp; relatives; and his puppies, Maycee Mae and Lucy Lou.

Dr. Kenneth M. Krauter, 80, of Ellsworth, KS, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020. He was born May 28, 1940, in Hutchinson, KS, the son of Howard and Minnie Krauter (Nixon).

After high school, Kenneth served his country in Korea as a peace keeper. Following his service, he went to Kansas State University. He graduated in 1967 with a degree in bacteriology and zoology, and held a doctorate degree in molecular biology with a minor in micro chemistry with a doctorate degree in microbiology. While living in Manhattan, KS, he met Kay Ensworth. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Great Bend, KS where they were married. Dr. Krauter went to work as a microbiologist for the Fuller Brush Company. The family subsequently moved to Bushton, KS where he operated his own business in the oil industry and various other ventures. Following Kay’s death, he lived in Wichita and Missouri before marrying Marilyn Blynn. The two resided in Ellsworth where Dr. Krauter worked for the hospital and with Mosaic assisting individuals with their health needs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; parents; sister, LaWanda Lower; and his stepson, Stephen Montoya. He is survived by his sister, Doris Gaeddert; his step-children, Thomas Montoya, Karen Gieselman, Theresa Parsons, Christopher Montoya, Michael Montoya,&nbsp;Paul Montoya, and Susan Julian; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
