Eugene A. "Gene" Burns, 81, of Salina, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was born July 30, 1939, in Chicago, IL, to J. Robert "Bob" and Evelyn (Buckley) Burns. As an infant, the family moved to Morris County, KS.&nbsp; He graduated in the last class of Diamond Valley High School, Burdick, KS. &nbsp;

Gene served two years in the U.S. Army and four years in the Reserves.&nbsp; He married Janice Hartman on October 9, 1966. His career spanned 35 years for the USDA Soil Conservation Service.

Gene coached youth sports in Salina during the 1970s and '80s, including serving Babe Ruth Baseball.&nbsp; Additionally, he served as president of the Kansas Parents Association of Hearing-Impaired Children.

He is survived by his wife Janice (Jan), of the home; sons John (Linda Oldham) Burns, of Topeka and Curtis Burns, of Salina; grandsons Hunter Burns and Tyler J. Burns; and sisters Mary Lou Thompson (Jon), Azle, TX, Coleen Anderes (Lyle), of Salina, Linda Cox, of Hesston, Dorothy Goodwin (Steve), of Salina.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Georgia Connor.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at Ryan Mortuary, with family present from 5-7 p.m. Graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at New Basel Cemetery, rural Abilene, KS.

Memorials may be made to Dignity Cares Fund in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, Kansas 67401. Memorial funds will provide aid to current and future residents of Dignity Care Home.

Paul Albert Richard was born in Concordia, KS on April 23, 1943 to Matthew and Angeline (Racette) Richard and passed away January 19, 2021 in Edinburg, TX. He married Gladys (Gee Basgall) Leiker on June 13, 2020 in Salina, KS.

Mr. Richard proudly served his country in the Army and Air Force National Guard serving seven years as a combat engineer. He was owner-manager of PG&amp;R Decorating and Auto Glass in Salina, later becoming a top salesman for PPG (Pittsburg Paint and Glass) while winning multiple awards and certifications.

He was a member the American Legion, Manhattan, KS and VFW, St. Mary’s Salina, and Jolly Mixers Dance Club of Salina serving as president and vice-president several years.

He is survived by his wife Gee of the home; one son, Tony Richard (Sophia Dewey), Mentor, KS; three daughters; Tammy (Doug) Watkins, Salina, KS.; Jennifer (Kris) Antonetti, Lawrence, KS.; and Krystal (Bryan) Hay, Nashville, TN., brother, John (Sandy) Richard, St. George, KS.; two sisters, Maurene (Dan) Miller, Fresno, CA., and Paula Miller, Visalia, CA., six grandchildren; two step-children; DeAnn (Jason) Laymance, Lawton, OK., and Daniel Leiker, Russell, KS., three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

David Aaron Meysenburg passed away May 5, 2021 in Salina Regional Health Center. 

He is survived by his wife Amy and their sons Cody, Cooper and Cayden. He is also survived by his brother Dan and his nephew Max, his sister Kay and her husband Mike, his sister Patty and her husband Scott, his niece Jane, his sister-in-law Jenny and her sons Bobby and Nick.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his brother Michael, his father Bob and his mother Shirley.

David graduated from Abilene High School in 1992. He went on to attend and graduate from Washburn University with bachelor degrees in history and in education. He completed his master's degree in school counseling and was close to completing his master's degree in school administration. Before retiring he was a teacher at St. Francis in Salina and he truly loved teaching there.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to St. Francis PRTF students. Memorials may be dropped off at the church the day of the service or mailed to Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, 414 NW Third St., Abilene, Kansas 67410.

 at the Nickol Home in Glasco, KS. &nbsp;He was born in Osborne, KS on June 
5, 1928 to the late Myrtle (Hammer) and Owen Greve.

Clinton graduated from Osborne&nbsp;High School. &nbsp;He served in the U. S. Air Force as a Staff Sargent in the Korean War.

Clinton was a farmer. &nbsp;He married Wilma Theresa Thompson and to this union, several children were born.

Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, in 2008,&nbsp;a son, Dan, in 2018 and 1 great-grandson.

James "Jimmy" Michael Monroe, age 41, Son, Dad, Pop Pop, Friend and Funny Man of Wichita, formerly of Salina, was born December 29, 1979 and moved on to the spirit in the sky April 28, 2021. He passed away unexpectedly, he did have underlying health conditions. He attended school in Wichita until his sophomore year then attending Bennington High School.

To say he loved his family especially his own "BROOD" is an understatement. He was an avid sports fan...Especially his beloved Kansas City Chiefs, KC Royals, Kansas Jayhawks, and the Wichita Thunder. He loved the holidays especially Halloween and Christmas. If there was a family gathering he was there. He spent his free time watching sports, watching cop shows (his new fav) The First 48 hours, going to the Casino (not always a good idea), doing things with his children. When he was with his children Jimmy glowed with happiness (well, most times, we all know that feeling.) Jimmy could have been a standup comic. He was witty, funny, and charismatic (he gets that from his mother.) He was very bright, mechanically inclined, he could build, make, or fix almost anything (he gets that from his dad.) Most of Jimmy's adult life was spent in the construction business, the majority as a foreman to his father's residential construction company, and most recently with Mertz Construction as a window and door installer.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jim Monroe (Hazel) of Coldwater, Kansas, maternal grandparents Tom (Sue) Hines of Wichita. He is survived by his father Mike (Penny) Monroe of Salina, mother Pamela Cutler of Wichita, Stepfather Mike Wiemerslage also of Wichita, brother Matt Monroe of Pagosa Springs, CO, children Kiersten (Monroe) Schmitt (Logan), grandson Parker Logan, granddaughter on the way Lennox Julia all of Salina, James Michael II, Jackson James, Mason Matthew and step daughter Nevaeh Griffin now all of Salina, several aunts, uncles (including a special bond with uncle Mike Hines), many, many, many did I say many ? cousins including his "ride or die" cousin Lindsay Plunk, Tiffany Hull (mother of Kiersten) Tara (mother of James, Jackson and Nevaeh) and Angela Monroe (mother of Mason).

His celebration of life service will be held on May 15, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Lakeview Funeral home at 12100 E 13th St N, Wichita, Kansas.

As much as Jimmy loved his family, he left room in his heart for the Kansas City Chiefs! To celebrate Jimmy’s life and his favorite team, please feel free to wear your Kansas City Chiefs gear to Jimmy’s service. He was witty, funny, and charismatic (he gets that from his mother.) He was very bright, mechanically inclined, he could build, make, or fix almost anything (he gets that from his dad.) Most of Jimmy's adult life was spent in the construction business, the majority as a foreman to his father's residential construction company, and most recently with Mertz Construction as a window and door installer.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jim Monroe (Hazel) of Coldwater, Kansas, maternal grandparents Tom (Sue) Hines of Wichita. Robert E. “Bob” Watson, the son of Harlow Woodrow Watson and Merle Marie (Finch) Watson, was born January 21, 1947 in Santa Maria, CA and passed away on May 3, 2021 at Stormont-Vail Health, Topeka, KS from complications due to pneumonia at the age of 74 years, 3 months, 11 days.

Bob attended grade school in Lovewell, KS and later graduated from Mankato High School in 1965. He then attended Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS until he entered the U.S. Army.&nbsp; Bob served during the Vietnam War in Artillery until his honorable discharge. H e was a designated disabled veteran. He returned to K-State and completed his Bachelor of Science, graduating in December of 1972.

Bob then returned to Jewell County where he began farming. He was a farmer and stockman all of his life and also worked for Reinke Mfg. in Deshler, NE&nbsp;for eight and a half years.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On February 17, 1973, he was united in marriage to Elaine K. Searcy and to this union three children were born, Curtis, Travis, and Hilary. The couple made their home in rural Formoso, KS.

Bob was a member of the Mankato VFW and the Scandia American Legion.&nbsp; He served in the honor detail for funerals for many years.&nbsp; Bob was always willing to help his neighbors and friends and took great joy in providing home-raised pork and garden produce to his friends and family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Elaine K. Watson of rural Formoso, KS; two sons, Curtis (Glena) Watson of Spokane, WA and Travis (Jennifer) Watson of Aurora, CO; one daughter, Hilary (Kerry) Campbell of St. Charles, Illinois;&nbsp; five grandchildren: Lesley, Henry, and Oscar Watson and Morgan and Anna Campbell;&nbsp; one sister, Harleen (Don) Pino of Walsenberg, CO; other relatives and friends.

Cremation was selected and graveside memorial services and inurnment will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Balch Cemetery, rural Formoso, Kansas.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Detail, Ft.&nbsp;Riley, KS.

Florine June (Cowing) Terry, 92, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation in Wakefield, Kansas where she had lived for the last several years.&nbsp; Florine (Flossy) was born in Clay Center, KS on November 2, 1928 to Gertrude (Pomeranz) and Roy Cowing.&nbsp; The oldest of seven children, Florine helped care for and raise her younger siblings after her father passed away at a young age. She graduated Clay Center High School in 1946.

At 16, Florine met the love of her life, Douglas Brannan, while on leave from the military. He was walking into the post office in Clay Center as she was walking out.&nbsp; Douglas and Florine married in 1945, in Morganville, KS and had two sons, William Brannan and Michael Brannan shortly after.&nbsp; While enlisted in the service they were stationed numerous places - Fort Polk, LA, Germany, Fort Carson, Colorado, Hawaii, Dodge City and Fort Riley where Douglas retired from the military and they moved home for good to Clay Center.&nbsp; Florine and Douglas divorced, and she met Sherman Terry, Clay Center.

Florine was an extremely talented musician who loved to play ukulele, banjo and sing harmony in a band, "Trickle &amp; Terry."&nbsp; Florine also had a great love for sewing, crocheting, and knitting.&nbsp; She made her granddaughter's wedding reception outfit and made her other granddaughter's prom dress from scratch without a pattern.

Florine was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother Gary; brothers Duane, Lowell, Lewis and Donald; her daughter-in-law Linda Brannan and companion Sherman Terry.

Florine leaves behind her children William Brannan, Seneca; Michael Brannan, Clay Center; granddaughters Misty (Larry) Gawith, El Dorado; Wendy (Tom) Lierz, Seneca; grea- grandchildren Payton Gawith, Manhattan; Allison June Gawith, El Dorado; Hunter and Gracyn Lierz, Seneca; sister Bonnie Pritchett, Wichita.&nbsp; She also leaves behind the family she grew to know and love at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation in Wakefield, who took such good care of her.

Per Florine’s wishes she will be cremated, and a graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clay County, KS.

Loren I. Holm, 99, passed away May 2, 2021, at the Morris County Hospital.&nbsp; He was born June 17, 1921 near Dwight, Kansas, the son of Ivar E. and Birttie E. Harris Holm.&nbsp; He grew up in the Dwight area, attending grade school at Swartz School and he graduated from Dwight Rural High School in 1939. He attended Kansas State Agriculture College for two years.&nbsp;

 He married Mildred Rinabarger at the home of her parents in Alta Vista, Kansas on April 2, 1943 and they celebrated 76 years of marriage before Mildred died in May of 2019.&nbsp;&nbsp; They have three daughters, Connie, Barbara, and Dorothy.&nbsp; Loren and Mildred lived in the rural Dwight area 73 years before moving to the Council Grove Assisted Living in 2016.

Loren and Mildred were dairy farmers and later raised beef cattle. He was proud of his efforts to help organize and then serve as president of a local unit of the KSAC Artificial Breeders Association in the 1950s. He was a member of the Dwight Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and served on the Session, as well as contributing much time and effort to helping with the upkeep of the church.&nbsp; He was also on numerous boards including Dwight Rural High School, Morris County Farm Bureau, Morris County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and the Shawnee Milk Producers Association. He was a Mason, a member of the Morris County 4-H Foundation, and served as an adult 4-H dairy leader at the club and county level.

Loren had many interests but particularly enjoyed having fun with his closest friends and family, traveling, reading and gardening. He and Mildred traveled locally and around the world. He had a great deal of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, which he attempted to satisfy through his travels and reading.&nbsp; Gardening could be a challenge, but when successful, he loved to share.&nbsp; He was known for asking about the family of any and all he visited.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and all nine siblings: Alice Dowell, Harold Holm, Agnes Aspelin, Harvey Holm, Dorothy Fager, Charles Holm, Helen Carlson, Marjorie Magill Haub, and George Holm.

Surviving are daughters: Connie (Gary) Burton, Barbara (Tom) Foncannon, and Dorothy (Jim) Bock; grandchildren: Terry (LuAnn) Burton, Ginger (Ken) Updegrave, Brett Foncannon (Shelley Trujillio), Kent (Renee) Foncannnon, Lauren Bock (Jafar Tabaian), Drew Bock (Emily Isler); Great grandchildren: Nathan (Jennifer), Nicholas, and Andrew Burton, Turner and Erik Updegrave, Scarlet, Nolan, and Vivienne Foncannon, and Cole Bock; great-great-grandchildren: Jacob and Benjamin Burton.

Mr. Holm will lie in state Friday, May 7, from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m.&nbsp; Family and friends may gather from 5 – 7 p.m. at Sawyer Funeral Home.

Harris Holm.&nbsp; He grew up in the Dwight area, attending grade school at Swartz School and he graduated from Dwight Rural High School in 1939. He attended Kansas State Agriculture College for two years.&nbsp; He married Mildred Rinabarger at the home of her parents in Alta Vista, Kansas on April 2, 1943 and they celebrated 76 years of marriage before Mildred died in May of 2019.&nbsp;&nbsp; They have three daughters, Connie, Barbara, and Dorothy.&nbsp; Loren and Mildred lived in the rural Dwight area 73 years before moving to the Council Grove Assisted Living in 2016.Loren and Mildred were dairy farmers and later raised beef cattle. He was proud of his efforts to help organize and then serve as president of a local unit of the KSAC Artificial Breeders Association in the 1950s. He was a member of the Dwight Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and served on the Session, as well as contributing much time and effort to helping with the upkeep of the church.&nbsp; He was also on numerous boards including Dwight Rural High School, Morris County Farm Bureau, Morris County Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and the Shawnee Milk Producers Association. He was a Mason, a member of the Morris County 4-H Foundation, and served as an adult 4-H dairy leader at the club and county level.Loren had many interests but particularly enjoyed having fun with his closest friends and family, traveling, reading and gardening. He and Mildred traveled locally and around the world. Daniel E. Diehl, born July 8, 1954 in Abilene, Kansas, peacefully passed away at his home south of Chapman, Kansas on Monday, May 3, 2021. Dan had been fighting neck cancer since January 2017. Dan’s spirit never gave up but his body did. Dan was raised on the family farm with his parents, grandparents, brother and sister. He loved and lived farming. He attended grade school in Navarre and graduated in 1972 from Chapman High School. For 31 years Dan worked construction in Wichita, KS retiring from Dondlinger Construction in 2015. He traveled many miles between Wichita and the Diehl farm. In 1973 Dan married Joy Trower. This marriage ended in divorce. On July 17, 1976 he married Betty A. Kirn of Solomon. To this union a daughter was born. Betty died on August 18, 1982. On April 26, 1986 Dan married Karman Morrison of Wichita (formerly of Abilene). To this union a son was born. When Dan retired from construction work in 2015 he moved back to the family farm. Dan was preceded in death by his wife Betty Kirn Diehl, mother Pauline Alexander Wilson and father Lyle Diehl. He is survived by his wife Karman of the home, daughter Marci (Todd) Smith and son Michael (Afton) Diehl of Enterprise, brother Donald (Linda) Diehl of Abilene, sister Deborah (Timothy) Nelson of Chapman, granddaughters Lilliann and Olivia Roy of Goddard and Rexley Diehl of Enterprise, grandsons Matthew, Carter and Cooper Smith of Enterprise, aunts Dona (Monte) Myers of Abilene and Gladys Olson of Fairway, Kansas, uncles Harvey (Jane) Diehl of Valley Center and Dallas (Irene) Alexander of Mims, Florida, brother-in-law Jim Kirn of The Colony, Texas, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Jarda Ann (Sexton) Fitzwater, 67, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, lost her long courageous battle with lupus, surrounded by her family and friends on April 29, 2021.

Jarda was born June 27, 1953 in Abilene, Kansas to Mervin and Cecelia (Zey) Sexton. She attended St. Andrews Catholic School 1st through 8th grade and graduated from Abilene High School in 1971 where she met the love of her life Bruce Gene Fitzwater.

After graduation she played softball and attended Kansas State University where she began attending football games in 1968. She transferred to Marymount college in Salina, Kansas where she started nursing school and completed her degree at St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1973. Then began her lifelong career as one of Kansas' first advanced nurse practitioners in the Emergency Department at Via Christi St. Joseph in Wichita, Kansas, where she provided love and compassionate care to anyone who crossed her path as if they were family until 2009 when she was forced to retire due to her health.

Jarda and Bruce were united in marriage on July 12, 1974 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Abilene, Kansas and were blessed with two children, Rachelle Fitzwater of Wichita, Kansas and Levi Fitzwater of Derby, Kansas. She was the grandmother to Damarian, Ayden, Kodiak, Presley and Ryan. She is survived by her mother Cecelia Sexton of Manhattan, Kansas, brother Mark Sexton (Nikki) of Manhattan, and sister Christine Graham of Topeka, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her father Mervin Sexton, sisters Amy Hodges and Jill Ross, niece Deanna and nephews Miles and Joshua.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She devoted over 40 years to living out the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph. She was vibrant, kind, extremely intelligent, and the strongest woman anyone ever met with a devout love for God, her family, and friends. We will forever miss this tenacious woman who was a role model for so many.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be May 13, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 311 S. Buckeye Ave. Abilene, KS with Father Randall Weber as celebrant. The rosary will be held at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Her final resting place will be Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery near Abilene.

Ed Conine, 75, died on Monday, May 3, 2021, at Hays Medical Center in 
Hays. He was born on June 19, 1945, at Garden City the son of Jack C. 
&amp; Elsie M. (Young) Conine. He married Janis Sculley on August 6, 
1963, at Beeler. 
Ed served in the United States army for 3 years as a mechanic and after 
his discharge he moved to Dighton to work as a mechanic for Lane County 
Implement. He then worked as a Lineman for Lane Scott Electric for 20 
years. After retiring from Lane-Scott, he was a truck driver for several
 people in the area. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, 
hunting, woodworking and riding his Harley. He was a member of American
 Legion Post # 190 of Dighton and served many years on the Honor Guard. 
He is survived by his Wife- Janis Conine, 2 Daughters- Sheila &amp; 
Roger Scheib of Liberal and Shari &amp; Mike Lake of Salina, Son- Aaron 
&amp; Lisa Conine of Dighton, 2 Brothers- Jackie Conine of Belton, 
Missouri and Ronnie Conine of Cimarron, Sister- Barbara Slagle of Ness 
City, 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. 
Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Friday at the United Methodist 
Church with Rev Berniece Ludlum officiating. The service will be on

SALINA -&nbsp;Susan Ravenkamp Jamison, 93, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021.&nbsp; She was born August 7, 1927 in Offerle, KS to Nicholas and Barbara Snider. &nbsp;

Susan was known best for her unconditional love and kindness for not only her own family but for anyone that came into her life. As a mother of nine children, she was always there to provide them with love, support and strong faith in God.

Her family always enjoyed her famous fried chicken and delicious homemade pies. She exemplified the Golden Rule and spent many hours volunteering for different Salina organizations. Susan was a pioneer and strong supporter of the Salina Al-Anon group. Her sense of humor and sweet appreciative spirit will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; four brothers; husbands John Ravenkamp, Sr. and Plemma Jamison; daughters Mary Miller and Linda Ingram; son John Ravenkamp Jr.; grandsons Judson Eisenhauer, Zachary Ingram, and Richard Wright; and sons-in-law Marion Miller and Lonnie Albertson.

She is survived by her son James Ravenkamp (Patricia) of Salina; daughters Marjorie Albertson of Lee's Summit, Cindy Eisenhauer (Rob) of Pratt, Judy Larsen of Lincoln, Teresa Pearson (Roger) of Ellsworth, Ann Nowlin (Ken) of Salina; brother Richard Snider (Jessie) of Hiawatha; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. &nbsp;

As a mother of nine children, she was always there to provide them with love, support and strong faith in God.Her family always enjoyed her famous fried chicken and delicious homemade pies. She exemplified the Golden Rule and spent many hours volunteering for different Salina organizations. Susan was a pioneer and strong supporter of the Salina Al-Anon group. Troy Dean Frye was born in Belleville on December 31, 1960, the son of Verne Allen and Betty Eudene (Swaney) Frye. Troy graduated from Tonganoxie (KS) High School in 1979.

Following high school, he returned to Belleville to work on the family farm. He later went to work for Derowitsch Construction, Alsop Sand Company, and then the city of Belleville. He was united in marriage to Berdina Allen on September 24, 1996, in Belleville.

Troy’s passion in life was his family and racing. He could almost always be found in the shop working on his son’s or grandson’s racecar, or spending time at many of the local tracks, watching the races and giving advice.

Troy passed away on May 1, 2021, in Wichita, at the age of 60 years, 4 months and 1 day. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry and sister Tyra.

He will be forever remembered by his wife Berdina, son Tyler Frye and his wife Diana, and their son Trevin, of Belleville, daughter Tamika Frye and her daughter Brianna, sister Tracey Helmick, sister Trisha Bruns (David), and many friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Belleville High Banks Racetrack, with Pastor Jacob Rice officiating. The family requests persons attending the service to wear casual attire.

Lester D. Jantz, 92, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 11:15 p.m., Saturday, May 1, 2021, peacefully, with his wife by his side at Cedars House. Lester was born 1/2 mile west of Galva, on his parents' homestead, on January 4, 1929, a son of Ruth Olga (Eck) and Edwin Henry Jantz. Lester attended the Galva grade school and graduated from Galva High School, Galva, Kansas in 1947. He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church, McPherson, KS where he served his church in many capacities through the years. Lester served in the United States Air Force as a SSGT in the Korean War. He received the NDSM and GCM and served with the 3635th Field Maintenance Squadron. Lester Dean Jantz was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Stucky on August 5, 1955 at the Eden Mennonite Church, rural Moundridge, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and one daughter, Steven, Tony, and Angela. Lester started in 1945 working for San-Ore Construction until 1948. In 1949 he began working for Hutch Concrete Company building silos until 1950 when he was called to serve his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force.

In 1954, after his honorable discharge, he went back to Hutch Concrete until February of 1955 when he began working for Boeing Aircraft working on jet engines. In 1955 there was a layoff and Lester came home and worked for his dad on the farm until later that year when he started working for Lake Superior Lumber Company. In 1966 the name changed to Harris Lumber Co. and Lester became partners with Harold Harris, Warner Harris, and Harold Schlender until 1985 when Lester and Shirley purchased the lumber yard and changed the name to Jantz Lumber Company. He served as past president and board member of the Kansas Lumber Association; board of the Mid America Lumber Association; had served as director of the McPherson Chamber of Commerce and had served this community in many other capacities over many years. Lester was a member of the Lions Club and Noon Kiwanis Club. Lester enjoyed traveling, gardening, landscaping, camping, fishing, his family, and enjoyed watching and collecting model trains and airplanes, and southern gospel music. Gary was born in Ellsworth, Kansas on August 3, 1941, a son of Velma A. (Leach) and Arthur Alfred Hutchison. Gary attended the Lincoln grade schools and graduated from Lincoln High School, Lincoln, Kansas in 1959. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in McPherson, Kansas. Gary was a McPherson fire fighter for a number of years before he started with the Kansas Gas Service. He served several positions including warehouse manager and retired after 27 years. He volunteered many hours with the McPherson County Food Bank. Gary loved collecting tools and fishing gear and fishing. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandkids. Gary A. Hutchison was united in marriage to Louise Kay Buck on June 19, 1960 at United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Kansas where the young couple established their first home together. This union was blessed with the birth of three sons, Mark, Danial "Dan", and James "Jim." The family moved to McPherson, Kansas in 1966. Richard Siehndel, 80, of Scott City, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at McPherson Hospital. He worked as a truck driver for many years. J was born on January 9, 1941, in Wichita, KS, the son of Thurman and Stella (Wilson) Siehndel. He graduated from Windom High School and attended some college. Mr. Siehndel was a veteran of the U.S Army and enjoyed horses and reading. He is survived by two sisters, Kay Ward of Hutchinson, KS, and Connie Norton (Brad) of Kearny, NE; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Ray Siehndel. Jane Elizabeth Zacharias, 75, passed away Sunday morning, May 2, with her family by her side as well as her pet (Are Jay) after a long battle with an incurable lung disease.

Jane was born April 12, 1946, in Ransom, Kansas to William (Keith) and Bernice (Shedden) Dannefer.&nbsp; She graduated from Basehor High School in 1964 and Kansas State University in 1968.&nbsp; She would later get her master’s degree in education.&nbsp; She married her high school sweetheart, William (Bill) Zacharias on June 28, 1969.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She started her teaching career at Clay Center Community High School in the fall of 1969, teaching health and girls’ physical education.&nbsp; Her passion was helping students excel and test their own limits.&nbsp; Jane was an assistant on the first girls track team and started the girls’ volleyball program that continues today and took great pride in her teams, record, and maturity of the girls as they advanced through the years. She retired from teaching in 2004.&nbsp;

She enjoyed camping, traveling, socializing with friends, Kansas State football, and life in general.&nbsp; Jane was a member of Beta, PEO and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and two brothers-Dennis and Larry.&nbsp;&nbsp;
