Bonita M. (Linenberger) Schulte, age 77, of Salina, Kansas, died Monday, March 8, 2021, at her home.

She was born October 7, 1943, in Hays, Kansas to Bonavent and Gertrude (Beck)-Brungardt Linenberger.&nbsp; She married Gary M. Schulte on September 5, 1966, at Victoria, Kansas.

She operated a beauty shop in Victoria from 1962 till 1966 and moved to Hays in&nbsp; 1967.&nbsp; She was a 1961 graduate of&nbsp; Victoria High School, a homemaker, a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays.&nbsp; She and Gary moved to Salina in&nbsp; 2004, and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Salina.&nbsp; She helped start the TMP Booster Club, enjoyed playing card games, spending time with family, and being there for her grandchildren’s sporting activities.

Survivors include her husband, Gary M. Schulte, of the home; two sons, Travis Schulte and wife, Brandi, Lenexa, KS; Troy Schulte and wife, Sharon, Hays, KS; one daughter, Toni Juenemann and husband, Wayne, Salina, KS; one brother, John Linenberger and wife, Marlene, Manhattan, KS; two sisters-in-law, Carol Linenberger and Norma Linenberger, both of Salina; eight grandchildren, Taylor Schulte; Austin Schulte; Jordan Hixon and husband, Nick; Jackson Schulte; Jaden Schulte; Drake Juenemann; Ashley Juenemann; Joshua Juenemann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Edwin, Gilbert, Dennis, Verlin, Thomas, Leo, and Patrick Linenberger; three sisters, Henrietta Giebler, Doris Younger-Pfeifer, Virginita Linenberger; and one infant brother, Clarence Linenberger.

Services are 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 11, 2021, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas.&nbsp; Burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas.

A vigil service and rosary will be at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays and from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Thursday, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas.&nbsp; The family suggests memorials to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Hospice of Salina, or Masses.&nbsp;

Maxine (Mustard) Perkins of Abilene, Kansas, died peacefully on March 6, 2021. She lived a full life of 92 years. She was born August 27, 1928, at the family home in Talmage, Ks to Esther (Brown) and Hugh Mustard. She attended Talmage elementary schools and graduated from Chapman High School in 1946.

As a child of the Depression and the second youngest of 11 children, Maxine learned to work hard at an early age. Widowed at age 30 with a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son, she began a lifetime of caregiving, spending many years caring for her own mother and a sister and nurturing her children and grandchildren throughout their lives. She was the PTA class mom and the Girl Scout troop leader who welcomed everyone into her home. 

She remained an ardent FDR Democrat all her life and last year called to correct her Congressman when he said that “little old ladies in Kansas love Trump.” One of her proudest accomplishments was her service as chair of the Dickinson County Democratic Committee. She hosted many events for local, state and Congressional Democratic candidates, serving her “Democrat punch.”

Maxine was employed for much of her life by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company (later Sprint), first as a telephone operator and later in the business office. Recently she worked at the Dickinson County Historical Society, where, as a 4th generation Dickinson County resident, she enjoyed showing visitors through the portion of the museum dedicated to C.L. Brown, a family member who founded United Telecom, and operating the carousel, as the owner of the site of the original C.W. Parker Carousel Workshop.

Survivors include her children, Lloyd Perkins, Abilene, and Rebecca Perkins, Plainfield, New Jersey; brother Jack Mustard of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren Fallan Perkins, KS; Nick Perkins, AZ; Jeremy Brown, TX; Sara Levine, MA; and Jonathan Estis, NJ; and great-grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Perkins, in 1958; her parents, and brothers James, Donald, Roy, and Beverly Mustard and sisters Gladys (Thorpe), Evelyn (Lanman), Gwendolyn (Botz), Vera (Moody), and Geraldine (Mustard). Friends may stop by Danner Funeral Home from 3:30-5:30 on Tuesday, March 10, to visit with family and to sign the book. Social distancing will be observed and masks will be required. Following her wishes, she will be cremated, with the remains interred at Prairiedale Cemetery in Talmage, Kansas, where her husband, parents and grandparents are buried.

John M. Fate, 74 of Murrieta, California passed away on February 8, 2021 at his home in Murrieta.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was born March 12, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Merle and Ruth Fate.&nbsp;

He was preceded by one&nbsp;sister&nbsp;and&nbsp; 2 brothers, Judy Cardwell, Roy Fate,and Greg Fate.

He was a devout Christian, and US Marine who proudly served his country, and was loved and will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew him.&nbsp;

John is survived by 3 sons, Bill, Tom and Dale Fate; 4 Grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Max, Charlie, and one great grandchild, Trinity; one sister, Cheryl (Dan) Luttrell;&nbsp; other relatives, and friends.

Clifford V. Campbell, age 99, of Beloit, Kansas, died Monday March 8, 2021 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit.&nbsp; Cliff was born on the family farm southwest of Beloit, to T.A. (Pete) and Eliza (Studer) Campbell, on August 20, 1921. He is a Beloit High School graduate.&nbsp; Cliff served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he served as a radar and radio instructor, stationed at Boca Raton, Florida. Cliff received a medal as an expert marksman while there.

Cliff and Irma Faye Huffman were married October 8, 1943, in Beloit.&nbsp; After World War II, they moved to the family farm southwest of Beloit, where they lived for nearly 70 years. Cliff loved farming, and still helped with wheat harvest when he was 93 years old. Cliff and Faye celebrated 72 years of marriage October 8, 2015. Cliff and Faye enjoyed traveling, including taking the family to the World’s Fair in New York in 1964.

Cliff was a member of Pleasant View Methodist Church, the Masons for 50 years, and a member of the American Legion. Cliff was very interested in politics and served as a Kansas State Representative in Topeka, for 14 years. He and Faye enjoyed many functions and made many friends during his term in Topeka. He also served on the boards of many organizations in the community, including Salt Creek Watershed Board for 50 years. Cliff loved history, was quite the story teller, and enjoyed being involved with Mitchell County Historical Society. Cliff enjoyed hunting with family and friends, hosting large groups for pheasant hunting, especially.

&nbsp;Cliff was preceded in death by his wife Faye, and his parents.

Cliff is survived by children Jim (Elaine) Campbell, Jeannine (Ed) Mondero, and Terry (Charlotte) Campbell, Beloit, grandchildren Maria (Robin) Goter, Frederick, CO, Chris (Cierra) Mondero, Ashley Campbell, Christy (Josh) Miller, all of Beloit, Nick (Katrina) Mondero, Hays, KS, Kendra (Jim) Zimmer, Wichita, Trever (Jessica) Heidrick, Beloit, 14 great grandchildren, and his sister Geneva Pearson, Beloit.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Thursday, March 11 at the Beloit First United Methodist Church and will be live-streamed through the Church's Facebook page. Steve C. Chartier, age 63, entered into rest on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at his residence in Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on January 31, 1958 in Concordia, Kansas to Charles and Mary (Sorell) Chartier.&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Steve was a 1976 graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas.

On July 11, 2018 he married Linda Collette in Concordia, Kansas.

Steve worked for Geisler Roofing Company in Concordia as a roofer for 30 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, cooking fish, mushroom hunting, and loved listening to 70’s music.

Steve is survived by his wife Linda, 2 step children, Erin (Jeff ) Burchfiel, Zach (Jade) McGuire, 3 step grandchildren, Austin Cordry, Lucas Burchfiel, Gage McGuire.&nbsp; His dog Wally who he loved more than his wife (LOL).&nbsp;Sisters, Peg (Richard) Sholtz, Linda LeClair, Pam (Mark) Perry, Brother, Jim (Ambrea) Chartier, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Theodore Harder, Jr., 93, passed away on March 5, 2021 at the Salina Regional Health Center. Ted was born in Little River, Kansas to Theodore O. Harder and Rena Harder on December 12, 1927.

Ted is survived by his wife, Doris Harder, and his daughters, Jan Burton of Boulder, Colorado and Conni Williams of Durango, Colorado and his son-in-law, Mike Williams of Durango, Colorado. He has two grandchildren, Anne Burton, of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Allison Cole of Richardson, Texas, and grandson-in-law, Detlef Cole, and two great grandchildren.

Ted grew up in central Kansas and was a standout athlete, holding state records in track and field and excelling in many sports. He served in the post-World War II occupation Army in Japan. He graduated from Emporia State College in Business Administration, where he met his future wife, Doris Anderson. He was a member of the Phi Sigma Gamma fraternity. He was signed by the Yankees to their baseball farm system after graduation, but he later decided to get married and begin teaching. &nbsp;

After the birth of his daughters, he began a 20-year marketing career with Skelly Oil Company, leading to his purchase of the Salina Truck Plaza in 1975. Ted and Doris operated that truck stop for 13 years and he continued to operate a fuel distribution business and service station until his retirement. &nbsp;

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, golf, traveling, sports, and playing cards. He was an active member of the YMCA and the Salina Country Club.

A socially-distanced memorial service (face masks required) and livestream (<a href="https://www.salinafirst.com/live">https://www.salinafirst.com/live</a>) will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2021 at First United Methodist Church.

Her loving family includes her daughter Katlynn (Clinton Schwartz) Shaft of Kingman, her longtime companion David Leith of Marion, Dave's children Joseph, Jessica Leith and Shasta McCall, brother Joel Linder of Moundridge, grandchildren Jarrod , A.J., Bella, Bryce, and Ryan.&nbsp; Bobbie passed away at home on March 5, 2021.&nbsp; She is preceded in death by her parents.&nbsp;

He was retired, Darrell's favorite thing was holiday gatherings, and he loved to volunteer at Lakewood Discovery Center, delivering meals on wheels, the river festival, was a dedicated bell ringer for the Salvation Army, was active with Choices Network, played Bingo weekly, bowled on a senior league, and faithfully attended the Landmark Apostolic Church, Emmanuel Foursquare Church, and the Salvation Army Church. Survivors include his chosen family, Kristi, Jim, Taylor, Kora, Kaci and Rosie Copas; Bob and Joyce Gile; Jim and JoAnn Gile; Jody and Steve; Jaime and Jason; Chiara, Cai, and Cooper; Donna and Andy Tope; special friends, Don and Mary Carrier; Jeremy Pummel; Carolyn McCready and many church family and friends. Darrell was born in Wichita, Kansas at the Salvation Army Hospital on January 31, 1950. He was retired, Darrell's favorite thing was holiday gatherings, and he loved to volunteer at Lakewood Discovery Center, delivering meals on wheels, the river festival, was a dedicated bell ringer for the Salvation Army, was active with Choices Network, played Bingo weekly, bowled on a senior league, and faithfully attended the Landmark Apostolic Church, Emmanuel Foursquare Church, and the Salvation Army Church. Survivors include his chosen family, Kristi, Jim, Taylor, Kora, Kaci and Rosie Copas; Bob and Joyce Gile; Jim and JoAnn Gile; Jody and Steve; Jaime and Jason; Chiara, Cai, and Cooper; Donna and Andy Tope; special friends, Don and Mary Carrier; Jeremy Pummel; Carolyn McCready and many church family and friends. Kurtis was a graduate of Pittsburg High School and spent most of his life in Pittsburg before moving to Tescott.&nbsp;

He was employed by Kansas State University, Salina, KS. Previously he was employed by Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS.&nbsp;

Kurtis was active in the LifeTrack Church before moving to Tescott.

Kurtis made many friends and never knew a stranger; he was active in doing a lot of cabinetry and remodeling work on the side and enjoyed every minute of it.&nbsp; Always commented about wanting more tools but he was mostly known for his love of Ice Cream. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his son Samuel Hohl of Arma, KS; &nbsp;brother Melvin J Hohl and his wife Della of Surprise, AZ; &nbsp;brother Neil Hohl of Surprise, AZ; sister Linnea Knisley and her husband Rick of Dewey, AZ.; &nbsp;niece Stefanie Cummings and her wife Christina of Surprise, AZ; a niece Amanda Knisley of Dewey, AZ; a niece Kirsten McCarthy and her husband Tyler of Phoenix, AZ; nephew J.J. Knisely of Prescott Valley, AZ; niece Seuris Hohl of Glendale, AZ; and great-niece Peyton Beesley of Prescott Valley, AZ.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents Melvin and Lois Hohl; and daughter Kara Hohl.

He is survived by his wife, Dixie; children, Kendra Clark (Scott), Chad Jones, and Darcie Nguyen (Son); grandchildren, Braedyn, Kale, Morgan, Jaylinn, Annabelle, and Lily; Siblings, Gail Jones (Pat), Karen Edwards, and Wiley Jones. Carlie was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Monday, March 8, 2021, from 4-8 pm at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 2 pm at Emmanuel Foursquare Church. Burial will follow at Bennington Cemetery, Bennington, KS.

Derald Dean Armbrust, 89 of Salina, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 surrounded by those he loved, and those that loved him.

He was born June 30, 1931 in Ellsworth, Ks to Andy and Ella (Dolezal) Armbrust.

In 1951, at the young age of 18, Derald enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. After finishing his introduction into boot camp, Derald was sent to Europe and fought during the Korean War. While there, Derald earned the Korean Service Medal with two (2) Stars, as well as the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.

Upon his release from active duty, Derald took an interest in construction, then becoming a welder. He worked for Rickel Manufacturing, Building “Big A”. In 1971, he started a lawn mowing business that he ran for 49 years. In 2003, he retired after 23 years as a welding at Great Plains Manufacturing.

In his younger years, he enjoyed racing dirt bikes, fishing, gardening, and could build anything out of metal. He enjoyed listening to Red Foxx on cassette tape in his Ford pickup.

Derald reveled in sharing his stories about his service to his counrty during the Korean War, as well as sharing stories about his childhood.

Derald also knew and understood heartache with the passing of his parents, Andy, and Ella (Dolezal) Armbrust; his beloved wife, Sylvia Armbrust; his three (3) children, Bob Armbrust, Karen Jackson, and Infant Tammy; brothers, Dell Armbrust and Melvin Armbrust, and especially his beloved and loyal companion, “Red.”

Those left to remember his tales and his spirit are his sons, Donald Armbrust, and Larry Armbrust; both of Salina, sister, Gladys Russell, of Texas, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 1:00pm at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina, where Derald will receive full Military Honors from the VFW, Post 1432.

Nathan Dean Puett, 30, of Salina, died Friday, February 26, 2021 at Hillsboro, KS.&nbsp; He was welcomed home to Heaven with open arms by&nbsp;his grandmother, Ada Harloff, his father Lester Dean Puett and his sister, Brenda Boland.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Nathan was born January 17, 1991 in Junction City, Kansas, the son of Lester Dean “Butch” Puett and Nancy Domiano Puett. He was a 2009 graduate of Topeka High School and attended Salina Technical School.&nbsp; He was a heavy equipment operator in dirt construction formerly working for TNR Construction Company.&nbsp;

Nathan loved his kids and was a “hands on” dad.&nbsp; He enjoyed video games, disc golf, and grilling, although he was not very good at it. He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs.

Nathan is survived by his companion, Lauren Tompkinson, his two children, “J.D.” Jensen Dean and “A.J.” Aspyn Jo, both of the home of Salina; his sister Andrea Puett and her boyfriend Chris, and their children: Trenton, Rita, and Jonah, his nephew, Indy Boland and half-brother Jason Puett.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Ashland Cemetery, south of Manhattan, Kansas.&nbsp;

Patricia (Pat) G. Hedden, 85 of Glendale, AZ, entered the arms of the Lord on February 16, 2021. She was born on August 18, 1935 in St. Joseph Mo.

Her family later settled in Mankato, KS where she graduated from Mankato High School. She then attended Kansas State University and received a Degree in Elementary Education.

There she married the love of her life Wes. Her first assignment was teaching in a one room school with no running water. She always thought she got her ability to teach to all ages and abilities in this place. Her husband entered the Air Force and she moved with him to Spokane, WA.&nbsp; She worked on the Air Force Base as a substitute teacher. After leaving the Air Force the family moved to Salt Lake City, UT, Lawrence, KS, Satellite Beach, FL and Dickenson, TX.

In 1969 the family moved and finally settled in Phoenix, AZ.&nbsp; Here Pat worked for the Washington Elementary School District as a Special ED and regular classroom teacher. She retired in 1995. After retirement she pursued her lifelong passion of exploring her Irish-Scottish heritage. She made several trips to Ireland, Scotland and England to do genealogy research.&nbsp;

She also enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places such as, Australia, Europe, Turkey, Egypt and the Soviet Union. She enjoyed spending time with her Grandchildren. Patricia was also an avid reader, a trait she passed on to her children. &nbsp;She is preceded in death by her siblings, William Ramey, Charlene Buck and son-in law Brad LeFevre.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wesley Hedden, children Jane LeFevre and Thomas Hedden (Rebecca). Six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. At her request no memorial services will be held.&nbsp;

Interment will be at Mt Hope Cemetery in Mankato, KS at a later date. Because of her love of animals, she requested in lieu of flowers a donation be made to your local Humane Society.

Shelly was born in Salina, Kansas on March 1, 1968, a daughter of Bonnie Lou (Dix) and Johnny Iseral Hull. Shelly attended Hageman grade school, Salina South Middle School, Sacred Heart High School and graduated from Southeast of Saline High School, Salina, Kansas in 1986. She then attended Brown Mackie College, Salina, Kansas. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church Salina, while growing up. Shelly Raye Hull was united in marriage to Kelly Gibson on December 27, 1986 in Salina, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Salina. This union was blessed with the birth of two children, a son and a daughter, Kurtis and Kelsie. Shelly R. Gibson was united in marriage to Chad A. Ellis on August 20, 2016. The couple established their first home together in Galva, Kansas. Shelly was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years, Shelly worked for Heartland Early Learning Center in Salina as a secretary; in 2001 she worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company and in 2004 Shelly began working for Alliance Agency, Inc as a Personal Lines Agent. She also worked as a bartender for the American Legion Post of Canton and later for the V.F.W. Post 2715 McPherson. Shelly enjoyed watching her favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and KU Basketball and was one of their biggest fans, and loved bowling, golfing, camping, playing poker, dancing, and watching her niece Taryn play softball. She is survived by her husband, Chad Ellis, of Galva, Kansas; her children, Kurtis Gibson, of Wichita, Kansas and Kelsie Fuller and fiancé' Jacob McCage, of Canton, Kansas; her stepdaughter, Aubrie McCoin and husband Austin, of Wichita, Kansas; her siblings, an Identical twin, Kelly Jones and husband Tim, of Galva, Kansas and Johnny Hull and wife Tami, of Olathe, Kansas; her parents, Bonnie &amp; Johnny Hull, of Rossville, Kansas; her niece, Taryn Hull, of Olathe, Kansas and nephew, Jordy Hull, of Olathe, Kansas; her two favorite grandsons, John and Jordan Fuller; other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded by her grandparents.

Shelly Ellis' Celebration of life will be a Open House, Come and Go, and will be held at the Emma Creek Barn just outside of Hesston, Kansas from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, April 11, 2021 for anyone who would like to pay their respects or visit with family. She owned and operated Daylight Donut Shop in McPherson, was the former art director at the McPherson Senior Center, and owned and operated Bev’s Bee Hive, a ceramics studio. Jolene was born on September 27, 1934, in Canton, KS, the daughter of William Aubrey and Neva Pearl (Johnson) Keagle. She graduated from Canton High School in 1952. On June 14, 1953, Jolene was united in marriage to Webb Clark in Canton, KS. This union was blessed with three sons. Webb preceded Jolene in death on September 8, 2000. She attended the First Christian Church. Survivors include: three sons, John Dennis Clark (Sylvia), Richard Kim Clark, and Michael Jay Clark, all of McPherson, KS; a brother, Jay Keagle (Marilee) of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Rick Clark, David Clark, Paul Herrera, and Tina Schwartz; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four siblings, William Keagle, Dean Keagle, Warren Keagle, and Bonnie Westbrook. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
