SALINA - Reverend Robert L.“Bob” Turner, 82, passed away June 26, 2021. He was born July 8, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to ViedaTyson and Wilber Turner. On June 15, 1957 he married Patricia Kirk. They had three children before divorcing. On June 24, 1969 he married Christina Aldana Bowman Creighton, a widow with four children. Together they had one child.
He attended North Central Bible College and the American Baptist Seminar.
Bob held numerous jobs over the years in addition to being a pastor. Some were salesman, truck mechanic, over the road truck driver, truck driving instructor, and restaurant management.
He pastored churches in Kansas, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also led numerous mission trips to Woody Island, Alaska.
Bob loved to hunt and fish in his spare time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Turner, grandsons Michael and J.J. Carlson, seven brothers and a sister.
Bob is survived by Christina his wife of 52 years, sons Rick Turner and John (Robin) Creighton, daughters Roberta Turner, Rebecca Jill Turner, Janet (Gary) Carlson, Joyce (Keith) Pohl, Joan (Larry) Newingham, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister Bonnie (John) Zeman, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 28, at Ryan Mortuary.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the First Baptist Church in Salina.
Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
