Robert “Bob” Allen Fink, 71, of New Cambaria, gently and lovingly was released from his earthly body Friday, August 20, 2021, with his loving and devoted family by his side.&nbsp; Bob was born September 25, 1949, here in Salina to Marvin J. and Mildred (Ummel) Fink.&nbsp;

Bob's last place of employment before he retired was at Twin Oaks as an auto cad designer for twelve years., though many will remember Bob when he owned and operated his own business known to many as the&nbsp;“Smoky Hill Trading Post.”

Bob was preceded in death by his father Marvin J. Fink in 2009.&nbsp;

Those to continue to love and miss Bob are his beloved wife of 47 years, Donna Fink, sons Nathan A. Fink of Olathe, Jason P. and wife Sabrina of Salina, Robert’s mother Mildred Fink of Salina, his brother Donald Fink of Salina and his sister Kathy Fink of Littleton, CO, and of course, the three grandchildren Jacob, Morgan, and Logan.

A military graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Roselawn Memorial Park, 1920 E Crawford St., Salina.

In keeping with the kind of man Bob was, the family is requesting in lieu of flowers, please,&nbsp;“make memorials where they will do the most good” and to the attention of the Abilene Bible Baptist Church, 409 N. Van Buren, Abilene, KS 67410.

Bradley E. Schur, 58, Minneapolis, died Thursday, August 26, 2021 at his home.&nbsp; He was born October 20, 1962 in Salina to William and Zoe Ann (Myers) Schur.

Brad was a 1980 graduate of Minneapolis High School and he received his bachelor's degree from Fort Hays State University.&nbsp; He worked at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility for 27 years before retiring and moving to Minneapolis. He was currently working for the city of Minneapolis at the light plant at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his dad Bill in 2017; and his brother Rusty in 2007.

Survivors are his mother Zoe Ann Schur; niece Mackenzie (Ryan) Jones and their two children, Jaxon and Della Raye; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation without family present will be Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.&nbsp;

Kansas. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing, writing and composing 
music. He also enjoyed sketching, drawing, and painting. He loved all

of Minneola, Kansas; his mother, Linda Ketteler, and step father, Gary

Lynn A. Brown&nbsp;was born on September 7, 1928, to George E. and Dollie, McEldery, Brown in Lebanon, Kansas.&nbsp; Lynn passed from this earth on August 20, 2021, at Holiday Resort in Salina, Kansas.

Lynn served in the United States Air Force as a sargent from 1946-1949. Following his service, he pursued an engineering degree at the University of Colorado which prepared him for his career with IBM where he was instrumental in the early development of computers.

Lynn from IBM and became one of the first residents at Eaglecrest Retirement Community in Salina, Kansas. He moved to assisted living at Eaglecrest then to Holiday Resort to meet his health needs.

He was a quiet man who lived a simple life.&nbsp; Lynn enjoyed woodworking and "tinkering" with electronics.&nbsp; He was proud of his 1964 Convertible that he donated to the future home of the Salina Car Museum.

Lynn was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Melvin Brown, Alvin Brown, and Harold Brown, as well as two sisters Alice and Louise. He is survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

Lynn had chosen cremation and requested there be no services.

Connie Fulkerson, 66, of Manhattan, died August 20, 2021, at Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice in Manhattan, Kan.
 Constance Eileen Nelson was born Sept. 12, 1954, in San Diego, 
Calif., to Paul R. and Barbara J. (Haskin) Nelson, while her father was 
in the Navy.
 Because of her father's work with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., 
she and her family lived in numerous towns: Topeka, Wichita, Pratt, 
Abilene, Salina, Hutchinson, Kansas City, Kan., and Webster Groves, Mo. 
Connie was an active member of the Girl Scouts for 10 years.
 She graduated from Buhler (Kan.) High School in 1972, earned an A.A.
 degree from Hutchinson Community College in 1974 and a B.A. in English 
and journalism from Fort Hays State University in 1977. She was a 
yearbook editor and photographer at all three schools.
 After graduation, she worked for about two years as co-editor of the
 weekly Bucklin Banner and Protection Post newspapers in western Kansas.
 She then moved to Hastings, Neb., where she worked for the Cornhusker 
Press, a professional printing company.
 In 1982, she started working as a production coordinator for Student
 Publications, Inc. (now the Collegian Media Group) at Kansas State 
University. 
 On Aug. 2, 1986, she married the love of her life John Walter 
Fulkerson at the First Christian Church in Manhattan, Kan. He preceded 
her in death on June 14, 2001. They had one son, Alex, born June 7, 
1989.
 When the Journalism Education Association moved its national 
headquarters to K-State in 1988, she was asked to be its administrative 
assistant and bookstore manager. During her years with the organization,
 she also helped plan the biannual national conventions and was a copy 
editor for the organization's Communication: Journalism Education Today 
magazine. She retired after 32 years at JEA in 2020 and was the 
recipient of the organization's highest honor, the Carl Towley Award, in

Nelson, Eugene, Ore.; sister: Jeanne Kennedy, Tecumseh, Kan.; and 
numerous nieces and nephews.
 Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be no memorial service. Burial will be at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Manhattan.

Connie Fulkerson, 66, of Manhattan, died August 20, 2021, at Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice in Manhattan, Kan.
 Constance Eileen Nelson was born Sept. 12, 1954, in San Diego, 
Calif., to Paul R. and Barbara J. (Haskin) Nelson, while her father was 
in the Navy.
 Because of her father's work with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., 
she and her family lived in numerous towns: Topeka, Wichita, Pratt, 
Abilene, Salina, Hutchinson, Kansas City, Kan., and Webster Groves, Mo. 
Connie was an active member of the Girl Scouts for 10 years.
 She graduated from Buhler (Kan.) High School in 1972, earned an A.A.
 degree from Hutchinson Community College in 1974 and a B.A. in English 
and journalism from Fort Hays State University in 1977. She was a 
yearbook editor and photographer at all three schools.
 After graduation, she worked for about two years as co-editor of the
 weekly Bucklin Banner and Protection Post newspapers in western Kansas.
 She then moved to Hastings, Neb., where she worked for the Cornhusker 
Press, a professional printing company.
 In 1982, she started working as a production coordinator for Student
 Publications, Inc. (now the Collegian Media Group) at Kansas State 
University. 
 On Aug. 2, 1986, she married the love of her life John Walter 
Fulkerson at the First Christian Church in Manhattan, Kan. He preceded 
her in death on June 14, 2001. They had one son, Alex, born June 7, 
1989.
 When the Journalism Education Association moved its national 
headquarters to K-State in 1988, she was asked to be its administrative 
assistant and bookstore manager. During her years with the organization,
 she also helped plan the biannual national conventions and was a copy 
editor for the organization's Communication: Journalism Education Today 
magazine. She retired after 32 years at JEA in 2020 and was the 
recipient of the organization's highest honor, the Carl Towley Award, in
 recognition of her outstanding contributions to scholastic journalism 
and exemplary work to improve journalism education.

Opal passed away on Saturday, August 21, in Belleville.&nbsp;

Opal Maxine Crouch was born on November 14, 1929, in Lamar, Colorado, and she took her final journey to heaven on August 21, 2021, at the Belleville Healthcare Center, at the age of 91.

Opal grew up on a farm near Scottsville, Kansas. Following her high school graduation, she met and married Raymond Crouch on July 26, 1947. Opal was a homemaker, a waitress at the Buffalo Roam in Mankato for many years. She also completed schooling and training to become the social worker and activities director at Heartland Care Center in Belleville.

She enjoyed life; some of her favorite things to do were reading, dancing, going for fast boat rides, playing pitch, watching TV and watching KU basketball games.

Opal has joined many loved ones in heaven; her beloved husband Raymond Crouch, parents, Lawrence and Myrtle Stickler, grandmother Pearl Coleman, grandson Ethan Johnson, great granddaughter Ella Grace Fuller, brother in laws Gerald “Jerry” Rugg and Roger Zeigler, and many other family and friends.

Opal leaves behind three daughters; LaQuita Whitesell and her husband Carl, Vicky Adams and her partner Les, and Lisa Johnson and her husband Daren. Ten grandchildren; Brandon Fuller (Kim), Trevor Fuller, Shilo Nichols (Darrin), Tara Villapando, Heather Haley (Steve), Kelly Varnadore (Nathan), Rachelle, Jon, Ashleigh Thomas (Jon), Cole Thomas and Sheridan Johnson. Numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; as Opal often said, there are too many to count!

She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Rugg, sisters-in-law Linda Zeigler and Betty May, special friend/adopted daughter Caren, and many nieces and nephews.

The memories of time spent with her will always be with us.

Memorial services will be Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville. Visitation with family greeting friends will be two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mary was born on her parents farm rural in Onaga, Kansas on February 1, 1938, a daughter of Simon Eugene and Ellen Margaret (Savago) Bonjour. Mary attended the Onaga Elementary Schools and graduated from Centralia High School, Centralia, Kansas in 1956. Mary was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked at the Warren Hotel, McPherson Sentinel, Dillons Floral and Pharmacy, was a crossing guard for the city of McPherson, and for CK Pharmacy. Mary was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 Auxiliary and the Wendy's Coffee Club. Mary enjoyed kids and did a lot of childcare when she was younger, playing bingo, bowling, listening to music, gardening, playing the lottery and going to the casino. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her the greatest joy. Mary Lou Bonjour was united in marriage to Willard Duane Koehn in 1957. The young couple established their first home together in Moundridge, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of four sons, Mark, Marty, Monty, and Mike. Mary Lou Bonjour Koehn was united in marriage to William David "Bill" Petersen on July 15, 1965 at Evans, Oklahoma. The couple established their first home together in McPherson. This union was blessed with the birth of a daughter Sandy. Bill passed away on April 10, 2010. She is survived by her children, Mark D. Koehn of McPherson, Kansas, Monty D. Koehn and his wife Lori of McPherson, Kansas, Mike D. Shawn was an amazing person. A man who was always willing to lend a hand, Mr. Fix-It, Jack of All Trades. Hardworking, loyal, funny. A rock for his family and friends, he was happiest when fishing, riding 4-wheelers, fixing things and hanging out with his family, especially his son. His laugh was infectious and always had jokes to bring a smile in even the darkest situations.

The world will not be as bright without him in it. Taken from us too soon, he will be greatly missed. With all our love, may he rest forever in paradise, until we meet again.

Rose F. Harradine,&nbsp;85, born May 26, 1936, to Guadalupe Sanchez and Manuel Garcia, in Los Angeles, California, passed away August 19, 2021, with family by her side. Rose was born the oldest of four brothers Pedro (Pete) Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Frank Garcia, and Leo Garcia all of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband George Richard Harradine Il and brother Frank Garcia.

Rose in her earlier years worked as a bank processor as well as being a daycare provider. Later in life she worked for many years as a maid for her family-owned business "The Carpet Man" cleaning houses to help provide for her family. She was a very hard worker and worked cleaning houses all the way into her 70s. She was a resilient individual who also doubled as a perfectionist when it came to her work and her family.

Rose was the most loving and caring person in the world. She was a nurturer and relished at every opportunity to be there for her family and take care of them. Constantly putting others needs before her own is what she will be remembered for the most. 

Her many interests included, indulging in&nbsp; books for hours at a time, watching all kinds of sports from NFL to NBA, the NCAA March Madness tournament, cooking extravagant meals for her family, and going shopping with her granddaughter Sabrina. Watching her great grandkids excel in extracurricular activities like dance, baton, cheer, soccer, T-ball, singing and gymnastics, brought her the most joy. It was all about family when it came to Rose and that always remained her top priority.

Rose is survived by her son Paul Harradine of Salina, KS, son Roger Almaguer of Olathe, KS and daughter Linda Almaguer of Gainesville, VA. Her eight grandchildren include Sabrina Ramirez (Alfredo) of Salina, KS, Tyler Harradine of Salina, KS, Elisha Smith (Daniel)of Kansas City, KS, Brock Almaguer of Las Vegas, NV, Adam Almaguer of Kansas City, KS, Casandra Cox of Cary, NC, Randy Wood of Parker, KS, and Brandon Ballhagen. Rose had 11 great-grandchildren she loved and cherished very much. Others mourning her death include daughter-in-law Cheryl Closs, her husband William Closs, Brandi Jones, Mellisa Garcia and family.

She was a nurturer and relished at every opportunity to be there for her family and take care of them. Constantly putting others needs before her own is what she will be remembered for the most. Her many interests included, indulging in&nbsp; books for hours at a time, watching all kinds of sports from NFL to NBA, the NCAA March Madness tournament, cooking extravagant meals for her family, and going shopping with her granddaughter Sabrina. Watching her great grandkids excel in extracurricular activities like dance, baton, cheer, soccer, T-ball, singing and gymnastics, brought her the most joy. It was all about family when it came to Rose and that always remained her top priority.Rose is survived by her son Paul Harradine of Salina, KS, son Roger Almaguer of Olathe, KS and daughter Linda Almaguer of Gainesville, VA. Her eight grandchildren include Sabrina Ramirez (Alfredo) of Salina, KS, Tyler Harradine of Salina, KS, Elisha Smith (Daniel)of Kansas City, KS, Brock Almaguer of Las Vegas, NV, Adam Almaguer of Kansas City, KS, Casandra Cox of Cary, NC, Randy Wood of Parker, KS, and Brandon Ballhagen. Rose had 11 great-grandchildren she loved and cherished very much. Jan Louise (Tweedy) Dockstader, 66, of Gypsum, passed away July 15, 2021 at Salina Regional Health Center.

Jan was born September 29, 1954 in Salina to John Wesley and Dorothea Arlene (Faelber) Tweedy.&nbsp; She attended school in Gypsum and Southeast of Saline High School in Assaria.&nbsp; 

Jan worked many jobs including Raytheon in Salina.&nbsp; After retirement, she worked at Salina Labor building, Kansas Buffet and Exit 14 Restaurant.

Jan loved animals and enjoyed gardening, canning many of the vegetables she grew.&nbsp; She enjoyed a cold beer and visiting with family and friends.

Jan is survived by her biological daughter Jennifer Stanley of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Jennifer’s two children and two grandchildren; brother Douglas Tweedy (Denise) of Gypsum; niece Tamara Tweedy of Salina; nephew, Eric Tweedy of Eudora.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Dockstader; parents; and brother Michel.

Randy Lynn Bass, 64, of Abilene, Kan., passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City. Randy was born November 13, 1956, in Abilene, Kan., to Wilbur Ernest and Ruth Elaine (Heller) Bass. His father Wilbur passed away in September of 1961 and Ruth later married Melvin Howard Beetch in April of 1964.

Randy graduated from Chapman High School in 1974. He went on to earn his Associate's Degree from Barton County Community College in 1976. He worked for Duckwall/Alco Warehouse in Abilene, Kan., until they closed and moved on to work most currently for Footlocker Distribution warehouse in Junction City, Kan.

Randy learned the value of hard work growing up on a farm helping with daily chores, seasonal crop harvesting, and tending to 4-H and family livestock. The work did not stop with farming, there was always mowing and gardening to help with. Randy continued his work ethic in his adult life. He rarely missed a day of work, never wanting others to have extra work or to have extra work himself when he returned. He was not one to sit idle and continued work on his days off, mowing the lawns for his mother and neighbors.

Randy enjoyed being with family. He was always present for family events such as holidays, graduations, weddings, and family reunions. He had a passion for music and photography. Everywhere he went he enjoyed taking photos of his friends and family, never leaving home without his camera. He enjoyed motorcycles, dogs and being outdoors. 4-H was a big part of his life as a child

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Lynda (Bass) and Kelley Ayres of Minden, Neb.; Sandy (Beetch) and Lyle Miller of Carlton, Kan.; and Kevin and Karen Beetch of Newton, Kan. Randy was preceeded in death by his parents, Wilbur Ernest Bass and Ruth Elaine (Heller) Beetch and stepfather Melvin Howard Beetch.

The family has chosen to have a graveside service for Randy on Saturday, September 11, at 10:30 a.m. for family and friends at the Abilene Cemetery next to his father Wilbur Bass’s resting place.

Hillsboro - Clark Wiebe, 79, passed away August 19, 2021 at Bethesda Home in Goessel. He was born August 12, 1942 in Hillsboro to Herbert and Hildred (Schroeder) Wiebe. He married Anna Marie Toews August 19, 1962 in Hillsboro. 

Survivors include: wife Anna Marie Wiebe of North Newton; son Layne (Karen) Wiebe of Lenexa, Kansas; daughter Janelle (Troy) Weeks of Middleton, Idaho; sister, Clariece Schroeder of Hillsboro; five grandchildren. 

Predeceased by his brother-in-law Dean Schroeder in 1997.

He spent most of his childhood years on a farm east of Hillsboro. He loved the farm! 4-H was one of his favorite activities, joining when he was 10 years old. He won many awards including one for his poultry hatching flock and laying project.

He and his family attended the Hillsboro First Mennonite Church where he was baptized in 1957 by Rev. Elbert Koontz. After graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1960, he attended Bethel College for two years. 

Having decided to enter 1-W Service, Denver, Colorado was where he decided to do his service as a pharmacy clerk at Denver General Hospital.

Before moving to Denver, he married Anna Marie Toews, his high school sweetheart on Aug 19, 1962. Together they began their marriage in Denver, living in a small trailer home. Denver was where their first child, Janelle, was born in 1964.

After his service experience, Clark wanted to finish his college education. He chose to attend Emporia State with a major in industrial arts, graduating in 1966 with a BS degree. After graduation, he taught industrial arts for two years at Scott City High School. It was gratifying for him to see his students build beautiful pieces of furniture.

 In 1968, Layne David was born in Scott City. This was also the year Clark decided he wanted to move to the farm and try his hand at farming which was his first love.

Clark’s dad, at age 65, decided to retire from farming or at least give up the management and a majority of the work. Not wanting the farm sold or rented out to someone else, and not knowing what the future of farming held for them, Clark and Anna Marie returned to the Hillsboro community in the summer of 1968 to farm. 

Clark also found a teaching position in Florence as a hedge. Having nothing to start with (as school teachers usually do), Clark’s father offered a partnership arrangement and the opportunity to farm his acres. Teaching by day and planting wheat and other field work late at night forced him to make a decision – farming or teaching. He chose farming.

Construction on a new home was begun in November of 1974. Nearly all of the oak cabinetry and trim was done by Clark. Woodworking, of course, was his second love which is evidenced by the many projects he has made for other people.

Clark used his leadership talents by holding office positions in Young Farmers Educational Association at local and state levels. In 1977, Clark and Anna Marie won the Kansas Young Farm Family Award for their commitment to farming innovation and community involvement. Other committees he served on were the Marion County Fair Association, Marion County Extension Council, Marion County Wheat Growers, and Hillsboro Planning Commission. 

Holding church leadership positions were also important to him, serving as deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth sponsor, trustee, and business chairman.

Retirement from farming came in 2004 and that is when he started Wiebe Woodworking. Many, many projects kept him busy in his new career. Several of his projects were lovingly made for this church, including the communion tables. 

But that too came to an end with his disease, initially thought to be Parkinson’s, but only recently diagnosed as PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy), a rare neurological disease. This forced him and Anna Marie to make the move to Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton where they had a duplex built in Campus Woods Estates. The disease soon disabled him so he could no longer walk even with a walker. 

Bethesda Home was where he decided to go for the special care he needed. He was adapting to his new home, when on August 7 he suffered a fall. This resulted in a fractured hip. He never fully recovered from the surgery to repair this and also suffered a pulmonary embolism. After courageously fighting the progression of this disease for seven years, he knew he had reached the finish line God had drawn for him. Anna Marie and Layne were beside him when he took his last breath.

Farming and woodworking were a big part of Clark’s life, but his faith in Christ and love for his wife and family were always in first place….. (ice cream and cinnamon rolls were somewhere in between!) He will leave a giant hole in our hearts, but we find comfort that he is now with Christ, eager to see us all again in eternity.

He is survived by his wife Anna Marie, of 59 years, daughter Janelle (Troy) Weeks, of Middleton, Idaho; son Layne (Karen) Wiebe, of Lenexa, Kansas; granddaughters Jade, Raven and Allegra Weeks; Paige and Brooke Wiebe; sister Clariece Schroeder, Hillsboro; sisters-in-law Sharon (Leland) Kliensasser; Lora (Ken) Justice; and niece and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Dean Schroeder. The Wheat Harvest of 2003 (a poem penned by Clark himself) In 2003 the harvest of wheat Was one to be bittersweet. As I contemplated it to be my last It brought memories of harvests past. Some harvests with yields in the cellar But this year some so high they were stellar. It was fitting that this was the year to call it quits, Before my machinery would break into bits. After courageously fighting the progression of this disease for seven years, he knew he had reached the finish line God had drawn for him. Anna Marie and Layne were beside him when he took his last breath.Farming and woodworking were a big part of Clark’s life, but his faith in Christ and love for his wife and family were always in first place….. He is survived by his daughter Sandra of Guilford, Connecticut and her husband Robert Harms, and by his sister Luella Stauffer of Mountain Lake, Minnesota. 

He was a lifelong educator, having taught at Tabor College, Rutgers University, Moravian College, and Penn State University, and he was active in various church and service projects during his retirement in Hillsboro. Born in Hillsboro, Kansas, on February 28, 1919, while his father was attending Tabor College, he grew up on a dairy farm in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. His earliest memories were seeing his father taking the horse and buggy to the rural school where he was teaching. His mother took care of the dairy farm and chickens during the day. His duties at home included milking the cows and delivering milk to some 25 customers. He was baptized at the age of 12 and joined the Mennonite Brethren Church in Mountain Lake, embarking on a lifelong commitment to scripture and Christlike living. He attended German school for the first five grades and then was transferred to the public schools, graduating from high school in 1938. After high school graduation, he went to Mankato State Teachers College in Mankato, Minnesota for a two-year teaching certificate. This qualified him for a rural school position, which he taught for two years.

He married Mary Wall of Mountain Lake, Minnesota in 1942. Their daughter Sandra was born in 1951. After marriage, he returned to Mankato State University to finish his degree program with majors in industrial arts and social studies. After supervising student teachers for three years in the Mankato State University Laboratory School, he went to Stout State University in Wisconsin for his master’s degree in educational psychology, and he later earned a doctorate in education at Colorado State University in Greeley. He joined the faculty of Tabor College as chairman of the education department in 1949, where he got Tabor’s application for teacher certification approved in 1958 and served as the registrar and then the dean of the college. After a stint of teaching at Rutgers University in New Jersey, he became chairman of the education program at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He then became a supervisor of Penn State University’s continuing education program for eastern Pennsylvania. After his retirement in 1982, he and Mary moved back to Hillsboro, where his membership in the Hillsboro M. B. Church provided an opportunity to be the chair of the church council, as well as for Sunday school teaching.

He became the executive director of the Kansas Paraguay Partners organization for seven years, making two trips to Mennonite settlements in Paraguay, and he directed a major project to restore all 80 panels of the stained-glass windows in the Tabor College auditorium. Throughout his retirement years, he remained a prolific reader and a constant learner.

She attended Goodland Bible Church, Calvary Gospel Church, Goodland, Kansas and New Hope Evangelical Church in McPherson. Twila was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked for White Machine and Motor from 1945-1948, Boothroy Memorial 1948-1960, Goodland Savings and Loan 1960-1975. She also worked various odd jobs throughout her life. Twila enjoyed baking and sewing. She loved her children and grandkids, and great-grandkids. Twila Marie Stephens was united in marriage to William Ernest Bishop on December 20, 1951 at The Gospel Hall, Goodland, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Goodland, Kansas. They then moved to McPherson in 2007 to be closer to the kids. Bill died on January 1, 2020. She is survived by her daughters Cindy Moors and her husband Winston, of McPherson, Kansas and Debbie McIntyre and her husband Brian, of Waukesha, Wisconsin; her siblings Maxine Klein, of San Antonio, Texas and Irma Silkman, of Burlington, Colorado; her grandchildren Cody Moors (Jessica), Lindsey Vincent (Shiloh), Brock Moors (Amanda), Joshua McIntyre, Jamie Cote' (Michael), Tommy McIntyre and Jessica McIntyre and her Seven great-grandchildren. Billy was born in rural Alta Vista, Kansas on December 1, 1932, a son of Iva Bell (Berry) and Pearly Otis Parsons. Billy attended Alta Vista Elementary School and graduated from Alta Vista High School in Alta Vista, Kansas, he then attended and graduated from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas in 1960. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in McPherson. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the Korean War. Billy was a math teacher through the years for Overbrook High School, Overbrook, Kansas, Montezuma High School, Montezuma, Kansas, Paradise High School in Paradise, Kansas, and retired from Natoma High School Natoma, Kansas. After retirement he enjoyed substitute teaching, and when they moved to McPherson, was a para for the McPherson High School. Billy enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors, attending sporting events, coaching, teaching high school math and loved watching his kids and grandkids playing sports and spending time with his friends and family. Billy Lee Parsons was united in marriage to Doris Eileen Bradley on December 5, 1953 at Topeka, Kansas, where the young couple established their first home together. This union was blessed with the birth of five children, two sons and three daughters, Tony, Beverly, Jay, Lori and Meredith. Doris passed away on September 13, 2019. He is survived by his children, Tony Parsons, of Victoria, Kansas, Beverly Parsons, of Inman, Kansas, Jay Parsons and his wife Sharena, of Inman, Kansas, Lori Parsons, of Independence, Missouri and Meredith Roblez and her husband JR, of Overland Park, Kansas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Anthony Parsons and Camien Parsons. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; brother Oren Parsons; and sister Glennis Furman. He worked at The Cedars as a facility maintenance technician. Rob was born on June 4, 1977, the son of Robert Lynn Van Pelt, Sr. and Carla (Hofflinger) Van Pelt. He attended McPherson High School. On April 30, 2016, Rob was united in marriage to Somer (Priddy) Turley in McPherson, KS. Survivors include: his loving wife Somer of the home; children Dylan Van Pelt of Freeman, SD, Sierra Van Pelt of Oskaloosa, KS, Alexia Van Pelt of McPherson, KS, Nadia Turley (Madison Servaes) of McPherson, KS, and Vailyn Turley of McPherson, KS; mother Carla Van Pelt of McPherson, KS; sisters Tiffani Van Pelt of McPherson, KS and Nyssa Van Pelt of McPherson, KS; one grandson; and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, and his uncle Randy Van Pelt. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the McPherson Community Building with Liz Hamor officiating. Masks are required to attend the service. Memorial donations may be given for final expenses and made payable to Somer Van Pelt in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
