Minnie Belle "Penny" Settle, 92, of McPherson, Kansas, entered eternal rest at 3:10 p.m., Saturday, December 18th, 2021 peacefully, at Loving Care of McPherson.

Penny was born in Cement, Oklahoma on August 6, 1929, a daughter of Esma Ree (Thiel) and Otto Lee Parks.

Penny attended from Gracemont Country School, Gracemont, Oklahoma. Later she obtained her GED.

Minnie B. "Penny" Parks was united in marriage to Walter Raymond "Cotton" Settle on June 19, 1947 at Anadarko, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with the birth of four children, John, Jim, Rich, and Diana. In 1961 the family moved to "the Ranch" near Russell, Kansas where they made their home for nearly forty years.

She was a member of McPherson Church of Christ McPherson, Kansas.

Penny was a homemaker and loved cooking and raising her four children on the Ranch. Through the years, she worked as a cook for an elementary school in Russell, Kansas for several years. She sold eggs and cream to locals in town and around.

Penny enjoyed playing games with the family, sewing, quilting, and gardening.

She is survived by her children, John Settle and wife Karen, of Englewood, Colorado, Rich Settle and wife Vickie, of McPherson, Kansas, and Diana Settle, of Oregon; her six grandchildren, Lewis Settle, Chase Settle and wife Jenae, Logan Noll, Casi LeDuc and husband Andy, Amanda Kenney and husband Jeremy, and Samuel Sheets; her nine great-grandchildren, Derek Kenney, Kayla LeDuc, Noah Kenney, Megan LeDuc, Sean LeDuc, Mathew LeDuc, Emily LeDuc, Kye Settle, and Jesse Settle; other relatives and a host of friends.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter and her son, Jimmy Settle; her brothers, Roy Lee Parks, Clyde Parks, and E.J. Parks; and her sisters, Morna Ree Parks, Willie Mae DuBois, and Ima Lee Pope.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 27th 2021 at McPherson Church of Christ in McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 27th at McPherson Church of Christ in McPherson, KS with Minister Gary Witcher officiating.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
