
Karen Jean Sitts, 83, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 8:01 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021, at Brookdale in McPherson.
Karen was born on July 27, 1938, in Lindsborg, Kansas to Bernadine Katherine (Engstrom) and Floyd Virgil KImble.
Karen attended the Marquette and Bushton grade schools and graduated from Bushton High School, Bushton, Kansas in 1956. She then attended and graduated from Brown Mackie College, Salina, Kansas with her bachelor's degree.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson.
Karen was a homemaker, and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years she worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company for 9 years in the recording department, and for the Cedars Nursing home for 15 years as a nurse's aide, when she retired. After a short retirement, Karen returned to work, working for Walmart as a greeter.
Karen enjoyed music, Elvis was her favorite and she enjoyed country music as well, she volunteered many hours at Save-N-Share and the War and Peace Quilters. She also loved watching all the sports and activities of her children and grandchildren and her favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Karen Jean Kimble was united in marriage to Max Elvin Sitts on April 4, 1959, at Elim Lutheran Church, Marquette, Kansas. Max died on February 10, 1998.
She is survived by children, Connie Sue Bailey and her significant other David Swick, of McPherseon, Kansas, Keith Troy Sitts and his wife Michelle, of Athens, Tennessee and Kevin Wayne Sitts and his wife Tracy, of Windsor, Colorado, her brother, James Curtiss Kimble and his wife Betty, of Kansas City, Kansas.
She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Elizabeth Rene Bailey, Cody Wayne Sitts, Brett Alan Sitts, Alex Jeffery Sitts, Chelsea Marie Sitts and her two great-grandchildren, Kolton David Kelly and Nayeli Jo Kelly.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Bernadine Kimble; her husband Max Sitts; a sister, Kathye Oberle; a brother Dennis Kimble, and a granddaughter Aspen Bailey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson, Kansas, with Reverend Tim Leaf officiating.
Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
