
Stanley “Zeke” Douglas Palen was born on January 12, 1951 in Beloit, Kansas, the son of Victor and Elaine Remus Palen. He died early Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Resident Care Center in Beloit at the age of 70.
Zeke, as he was known, grew up and graduated from Tipton High School before attending Beloit Vo-Tech for a couple of years.
In 1983, he was united in marriage with Barbara Corpstein. Three children were born to this union, Jason, Jessica, and Jacob. They were privileged to spend 38 years of marriage together.
His true passion was farming, and he was proud to have built and established the farm that he and his family lived on. He also had a love for his farm dogs, and his special fur friend, Oscar.
In his spare time, he also enjoyed tinkering on his cars. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Delores and her husband Louis Magette; and his brother, Bud.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Jason of Tipton, Jessica and her husband Gabriel Sampson of Manhattan, and Jacob of Glen Elder; one granddaughter, Audrey; his sister, Dianne and her husband Mickey Budke of Tipton; sister-in-law, Diane Palen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 11 AM Friday, December 24 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Tipton followed by burial in St. Boniface Cemetery. The family will greet friends at 9:30 AM Friday, followed by a Rosary Service at 10 AM Friday, all at the Church. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the Tipton Schools or Catholic Charities of North Kansas.
