Dr. Perry Uriah Hunsley, 93, of Salina passed away on Tuesday April 26th.&nbsp; Perry, a resident of the Presbyterian Manor of Salina was born in Alamota, KS and completed nurse’s training at College of Emporia. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in 1957.

Dr. Hunsley practiced family medicine in Belleville, Kansas until 1972, when he moved with his family to Ohio to complete his residency in surgery at Akron General Medical Center. He then moved to Branson, Missouri where he was chief of surgery at Skaggs Community Health Center for 17 years.

In addition to being a distinguished professional and devoted husband and father, Perry was an avid bridge player, boater, fisherman, golfer, licensed pilot, reader of history, international traveler, and, in his retirement, a highly accomplished and prolific artist.

He is survived by his children Jean Schmidt (Robert) of Roswell, GA; Nancy Kriks (Herb) of Hinckley, OH; Jan Van de Kerkhove (Peter) of Pinckney, MI; and Julie Pagán (Michael) of Lee’s Summit, MO; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Phyllis Hamme Hunsley, his wife of 56 years, and their son, Perry Tom Hunsley.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 2nd at Sunrise Presbyterian Church in Salina. A reception will follow. Interment will take place immediately following at Keystone Cemetery in Manchester.

“Joe” Joseph James Corkrey&nbsp;of Kipp Kansas, sixty-six years young, passed away on April 25th at his home. Joe was born on November 21st, 1955, to Ronnie and Karen (Heatlie) Corkrey in San Francisco, California. He was raised the oldest of six siblings.

Joe spent many years of his life as a painter in California. Some would say though, that he was a ‘Joe of all trades’ as he was a man who wore many hats, both figuratively and literally. After Joe moved to Kansas in 2004, he worked for Douglas Welding of Kipp, and as a City Go bus driver for OCCK before he retired in 2017.

Our Joe was also very proud of the time he spent in the Army as a watercraft operator. He was an avid sports fan. When he wasn’t in his shop working on his latest project, he could be found watching a sporting game of any kind on the television.

Joe could be described as a simple, yet content man. He was very happy to spend his days with his wife, Susan, at their home on a corner lot – as they referred to as “Corkrey’s Corner.” Here, both he and Susan were avid gardeners. Every year they spent many hours together preparing, planting, and harvesting their garden and orchard. They enjoyed keeping busy in tending to their Corkrey’s Corner together.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother Karen, infant sister Julie, and daughter Jamie.

Joe is survived by his wife Susan of Gypsum, Kansas; his father Ronnie of Navato, California; siblings Kathleen Johnson of Taylorsville, Utah, Dennie Corkrey of Petaluma, California, Colleen (Pat) Weller of Gypsum, Kansas, Jimmy (Missy) Corkrey of Leesburg, Virginia, Jenifer O’Hara of Raleigh, North Carolina; children Kevin Corkrey, Cassidy (Robert) Avila, and Bret Corkrey all of Taylorsville, Utah; grandchildren Jackson Corkrey, Kylie, Emery, Oaklee Avila, and Ryder Corkrey; stepchildren Jay (Kathy) Crumpton and Stacy (Chad) Crumpton both of Salina, Kansas; stepgrandchildren Lexy Crumpton, Kaylyn, Jaycee, Kensey Norris, Parker and Mason Crumpton; and several nieces and nephews.

As Joe wished there will be no service or funeral. However, a gathering of his close family will be held at a later time.

Danny Lee Herndon, 73, a kind and gentle soul, of Salina, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022.

He was born July 10, 1948, in Independence, KS.

He worked for Raytheon Aircraft as a timekeeper and retired after 45 years of faithful and loyal service.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Virginia F. (Jones) Herndon, and brothers John Greene and Loyal Raymond Greene.

Survivors include his sister Lucy V. “Sue” Barsch and her husband; Larry W. Barsch of Clinton, IN., as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and two aunts;&nbsp;and many, many friends who knew and loved him.

"Danny had a very quick wit and humor.&nbsp; He was generous beyond what any of us truly know. And he was very kind.&nbsp; He is going to be greatly missed by so many." (Sentiments From the Salina Church of Christ family).

Patricia Allen, 73, Topeka, formerly of Salina passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Pat was born January 10, 1949 in Highland, KS the daughter of Edgar and Wilma (Eckley) Roberts.&nbsp;

She was a member of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.

She was employed by El Dorado National as an inspector.

Pat married Larry Dean Allen on July 26, 1968 in Fairbury, NE. Larry died February 16, 2022. 

Survivors include their children, Tonya Allen, Wichita, Jody (James) Mai, Topeka, Scott (Amy) Allen, Salina; grandchildren, Keeli, Jamie, Justin, Cree; and siblings, Carl, Ronald, Richard and Carol; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Sandra Kay, Bernard, and Edward Roberts.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.

Carol Jean Moulton, 86, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Bethany Home in Lindsborg. Carol was born November 1, 1935 in Ponca City, OK to the late Alvin R. "Pete" and the late Ruby I. "Inez" (Adams) Schambron. 

She married C.R Moulton on August 19, 1956 in Marion, KS.

Carol graduated from Marion High School before attending college at St. Mary’s of the Plains in Dodge City. 

She worked as an LPN at St. Luke Hospital in Marion and at Asbury Hospital in Salina.  Later she worked at McCoy’s Christian Book store. She was an active member of Emmanuel Foursquare Church in Salina, where she enjoyed helping in the kitchen with meals.

Survivors include her husband C.R. Moulton; daughters Mary Kersey (Neal) of Bennington, KS, Jane Robertson (Jon) of Salina, KS, and Donna Moulton of Topeka, KS; son John Moulton (Jean), of Salina, KS; Dana Hill of Salina, who was like a daughter to her; as well as 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27 from 6-8 p.m. at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg, KS.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28 at Emmanuel Foursquare Church, 1325 E. Cloud St., Salina, KS with Pastor Loren Houltberg and Pastor Blaine Herron officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.

She is survived by her daughter Traci Atkinson and her husband Neil, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and her significant other Jim Fendt, of McPherson, Kansas. Michael Kent McMurray, 72, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Friday, April 22nd 2022, at his home. Mike was born in McPherson, Kansas on July 22, 1949, a son of Mildred "Millie" Louise (Doerksen) and Russell Eugene McMurray. Mike attended and graduated from Canton High School, Canton, Kansas. He then attended Bethany College Lindsborg, Kansas until his enlistment into the United States Army. He honorably served in the U.S. Army with the 25th Infantry Division 65th Engineer's Battalion, Company C during the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device, 2 Over-seas Bars, 3 Camp X 120. Michael Kent McMurray was united in marriage to Lori Ann Ediger on February 21, 1976 at McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson. They were blessed with the birth of two children, one son and one daughter, Derek and Katie. Through the years Mike worked for American Farm Supply as a service technician and then started with N.C.R.A. in 1983 and worked in maintenance as a pipefitter, rigger, and insulator prior to his retirement in 2011. Mike was a member of the American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715, both of McPherson. Mike enjoyed reading, golfing, spending time with his family especially his grandkids, socializing with his friends, fishing, hunting, and loved a good cocktail. He is survived by his loving and caring wife of over 46 years, Lori McMurray, of McPherson, Kansas; his children Derek McMurray and his wife Mary Shannon, of Kansas City, Missouri and Katie Anderson and husband Travis, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his brothers Craig McMurray and wife Frankie, of Indian Wells, California; brother Brent McMurray, of McPherson, Kansas, and Kelly McMurray of Los Angeles, California; his brother-in-law James Ediger of Papillion, Nebraska; his six grandchildren, Sierra Anderson, Cora Anderson, Blake Anderson, Abbigail Anderson, Garrett McMurray and Elliot McMurray; his one great-granddaughter Reyna Parra-Anderson; other relatives and a host of friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Millie McMurray. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 2nd 2022 at Glidden - Ediger Chapel in McPherson, Kansas with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. Mandy L. Odle was born on April 14, 1975 in Connecticut, and died&nbsp;April 24, 2022 at the Salina Regional Health Center, very peacefully, surrounded with love.&nbsp;

Mandy is the strongest person to ever walk on the face of the earth.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mandy and Todd were united in marriage on June 3, 2006 and have enjoyed a very happy life together.&nbsp;

She faced many battles throughout her life and took every one in stride.&nbsp;

Mandy had a love for writing and filled many notebooks full of her stories that are located throughout the house. Dancing and singing were a big love also. The Twilight Movies and Book Series were another big love of hers. She so enjoyed to be surrounded by all that came to be with her throughout her life. 

She had a passion for making friends and turning them into family. She enjoyed the company of others. She loved with everything she had. She didn’t consider anyone a stranger. Her door was always open and her shoulder was always there to lean on. She always had a story to tell. She enjoyed spending time with family especially her grandbabies. They were her world.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Her other enjoyment was the dirt track racing world of going to the races with Todd to enjoy a night out under the stars with the cars running loud and fast. The number on Todd and Mandy’s race car was picked for their date of union in marriage of June 3rd, car 63.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She is survived by her husband Todd Odle of Glen Elder, her mother Diane Riley of Hays, her daughter Kristin Amon of Beloit, her son Dustin West of Cawker City, her father-in-law Stan Odle, her grandchildren, all of her close friends, and brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and so many more that love her till eternity.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by many family and friends. May they all rest in peace.&nbsp;

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28 at the Glen Elder Friends Church. The casket will be closed the day of the service. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home.

Bob’s life began on February 21, 1937, in Marion. He was the son of Godfrey and Mary (Vlk) Jirak. 

He was baptized at St. John Nepomucene Church by Father John Skelnar. Bob attended primary school in Pilsen and served for Father Emil Kapaun in Pilsen.

 Bob was a 1955 graduate of Lincolnville High School. 

He served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve from 1959 until 1965.

 Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Bredemeier on May 5, 1962, in Pilsen. 

He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation from 1957 – 1993, and worked on the construction of the Kansas Turnpike, and later in Topeka and Marion KDOT, retiring with 36 years of service. 

Bob was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Parish, spending a part of nearly every day at the church. 

He kept busy by refurbishing fishing rods and working on lawn equipment and did some house painting after retirement. Bob also enjoyed a good flea market or garage sale. 

He is survived by his loving family including his wife of nearly 60 years, Beverly Jirak of Marion; sons Kevin (Jayme) Jirak of Marion, Timothy Jirak of Hillsboro, and Rodney (Shelly) Jirak of Hutchison; grandchildren Hayley, Dylan, Reagan, Tessa, Cooper, Cassidy, Kaley, and Shelby; great-grandson Beau, and his siblings Barbara Reznicek of Rogers, AR, and Mary Jane (Walt) Lesher of Lawrence.

 Bob passed away on Monday April 25th&nbsp;at NMC Health in Newton. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph Jirak. 

Bob’s family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark’s Church in Marion on Friday April 29th. A rosary service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 2 p.m. by Father Brian Bebak. Bob will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery. Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion is serving the family.

Bob attended primary school in Pilsen and served for Father Emil Kapaun in Pilsen. Bob was a 1955 graduate of Lincolnville High School. He served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve from 1959 until 1965. Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Bredemeier on May 5, 1962, in Pilsen. He worked for the Kansas Department of Transportation from 1957 – 1993, and worked on the construction of the Kansas Turnpike, and later in Topeka and Marion KDOT, retiring with 36 years of service. Bob was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Parish, spending a part of nearly every day at the church. He kept busy by refurbishing fishing rods and working on lawn equipment and did some house painting after retirement. Bob also enjoyed a good flea market or garage sale. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of nearly 60 years, Beverly Jirak of Marion; sons Kevin (Jayme) Jirak of Marion, Timothy Jirak of Hillsboro, and Rodney (Shelly) Jirak of Hutchison; grandchildren Hayley, Dylan, Reagan, Tessa, Cooper, Cassidy, Kaley, and Shelby; great-grandson Beau, and his siblings Barbara Reznicek of Rogers, AR, and Mary Jane (Walt) Lesher of Lawrence. Bob passed away on Monday April 25th&nbsp;at NMC Health in Newton. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph Jirak. Twilah’s life began on September 16, 1939, in Chicago. She was the daughter of Chester E. and Minnie M. (Johnson) Hood. 

Twilah attended primary school in Chicago and graduated from East High School in Wichita in 1957.&nbsp; She then attended Municipal College in Wichita for two years and worked as a customer service representative for Bell Telephone before she met the love of her life Rodney Williams in 1962. Twilah and Rodney were united in marriage on February 23, 1963, at the Zion United Methodist Church in Wichita. Rodney had started Williams Service, Inc., the family business, in 1962 and he and Twilah have operated the business ever since. 

Twilah was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church and for many years organized the vacation bible school and volunteered in many positions to serve the church. She was the past president of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, and past treasurer of the Florence Historical Society. She helped to organize the Florence Labor Day parades, raised funds for the city pool and senior housing project. Twilah was also an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and travelling. 

Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of 59 years, Rodney Williams of Florence; children Stephanie Williams of Wichita and Stan (Karen) Williams of Marion; grandchildren Chase Williams, Kayla Williams, Colin (Emily) Williams, Nick (Jami) Ryan, Frank (Chloe) Ryan, Emily Hutchison and Cooper Bailey; grea-grandchildren Elizabeth, Brantley, Kamber and Kenlee Williams, and Grayson, Callum, and Willow Ryan; and her sister Mavis Percifield of Wichita.&nbsp; 

Twilah passed away on Sunday April 24, 2022, at the Salem Home in Hillsboro. She is preceded in death by her parents. 

Twilah’s family will gather with friends on Thursday, April 28th&nbsp;from 5-7 p.m. at the Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29th&nbsp;at the Florence United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. led by Reverend Stephen W. Rankin, PhD. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence.

Twilah and Rodney were united in marriage on February 23, 1963, at the Zion United Methodist Church in Wichita. Rodney had started Williams Service, Inc., the family business, in 1962 and he and Twilah have operated the business ever since. Twilah was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church and for many years organized the vacation bible school and volunteered in many positions to serve the church. She was the past president of the Florence Chamber of Commerce, and past treasurer of the Florence Historical Society. She helped to organize the Florence Labor Day parades, raised funds for the city pool and senior housing project. Twilah was also an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and travelling. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her husband of 59 years, Rodney Williams of Florence; children Stephanie Williams of Wichita and Stan (Karen) Williams of Marion; grandchildren Chase Williams, Kayla Williams, Colin (Emily) Williams, Nick (Jami) Ryan, Frank (Chloe) Ryan, Emily Hutchison and Cooper Bailey; grea-grandchildren Elizabeth, Brantley, Kamber and Kenlee Williams, and Grayson, Callum, and Willow Ryan; and her sister Mavis Percifield of Wichita.&nbsp; Twilah passed away on Sunday April 24, 2022, at the Salem Home in Hillsboro. She is preceded in death by her parents. Twilah’s family will gather with friends on Thursday, April 28th&nbsp;from 5-7 p.m. at the Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion. Paul Diehl II, 77, of Salina, KS, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was born September 28, 1944 to Paul and Velma (Gustafson) Diehl. He graduated from Tescott High School then enlisted into the Navy. He served a total of four years, 1964 to 1968.

Paul was a hardworking man. He had his own business, Finney County Scale Company, and was a true cowboy. He lended a helping hand to everyone and was always giving great advice. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and talking about “the good ol' days” while playing cards.

He was married to Jo-Ann Donovan and had three children, Paul Diehl III, Donavan Diehl, and Lisa Diehl. He also had five grandchildren,&nbsp; Russell and Gary Carter, Colby Blaser, and Jacob and Britta Diehl. Lastly, he was a loving brother to Janis Galvez, Jerry Diehl, and Ronald Diehl.

He is survived by his children Paul Diehl III, Donavan Diehl, and Lisa Diehl (Darrin Carter); his siblings Jerry Diehl (Judy), and Janis Galvez (Arturo); and five grandchildren. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents Paul and Velma Diehl, and brother Ronald Diehl.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 29th from 4 to 8 p.m., at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.

There will be a graveside service at Prairie Mound Cemetery, 2990-2996 Ave. A, Brookville, KS 67425 on Saturday, April 30th at 11 a.m.

David Allen "Dave" Weed, 67, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 18th, 2022 in the loving arms of his family. Dave was born in Colby, Kansas on March 12, 1955 to parents Mary Helen (Sutter) Weed and Jack Donald Weed. Graduating from Brewster High School, class of 1973, Dave was proud to be in the top ten of his class of 12. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school, serving from 1974 to 1977, rising to the rank of Corporal E4 in the Correctional Service Company where he earned several marksmanship awards, the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged. His roommates often told him he was “one squared away Marine” because his uniforms always looked impeccable. His goals then were to gain a bachelor’s degree and join the Kansas Highway Patrol. After the military, Dave attended Colby Community College earning a degree in journalism and a bachelor’s in communications from Fort Hays State University. Always an avid runner, he enjoyed running alongside the university track team and with the Hays Area Road Runners. He ran the 1979 KU Relays Marathon and the 1983 Nike OTC marathon with a time of 3:09 and was proud to be the only representative from Kansas.

It was while attending college at Fort Hays he met his future wife Mary Alice Yunker. Dave spotted her while “dragging Main” and began talking to her. Later he got her phone number by running down every street in Hays until he found her car then searched for the phone connected to her home address and made the call. She was immediately smitten. Their first date, the following Friday, was at the first basketball sell out game at Gross Memorial Coliseum.&nbsp; On December 4, 1989, Dave and Mary Alice wed in Salina, Kansas. Dave served as an Ellis County Sheriff’s Deputy from 1985 to 1987 before joining the Kansas Highway Patrol in 1987, where he served for thirty years. Retiring as a lieutenant in the patrol, he had been in charge of the Breath Alcohol Unit and for a time the Drug Recognition Unit. He was hired back two months later as a consultant in 2018. Throughout his law enforcement career, he formed many friendships and always considered coworkers as family. He enjoyed spontaneous coddiwomple road trips with his wife where they tried local cuisine and serenaded one another on long drives. Dave was the life of the party bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He was a brilliant man and a great storyteller. Dave’s knowledge of trivia was uncanny. His quirky sense of humor, fierce protective spirit and loving nature made for many memorable moments with family and friends. Dave was a loyal friend to all and shared his love of life and big heart with those lucky enough to find him in their company. A dedicated father and grandfather, Dave was the announcer for the basketball and football games for Ell- Saline High School from 2004 until 2018. He attended every school program and ball game his three children and grandchildren participated in. Dave was born in Colby, Kansas on March 12, 1955 to parents Mary Helen (Sutter) Weed and Jack Donald Weed. Graduating from Brewster High School, class of 1973, Dave was proud to be in the top ten of his class of 12. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after high school, serving from 1974 to 1977, rising to the rank of Corporal E4 in the Correctional Service Company where he earned several marksmanship awards, the Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged. His roommates often told him he was “one squared away Marine” because his uniforms always looked impeccable. His goals then were to gain a bachelor’s degree and join the Kansas Highway Patrol. After the military, Dave attended Colby Community College earning a degree in journalism and a bachelor’s in communications from Fort Hays State University. Always an avid runner, he enjoyed running alongside the university track team and with the Hays Area Road Runners. He ran the 1979 KU Relays Marathon and the 1983 Nike OTC marathon with a time of 3:09 and was proud to be the only representative from Kansas. It was while attending college at Fort Hays he met his future wife Mary Alice Yunker. Dave spotted her while “dragging Main” and began talking to her. Later he got her phone number by running down every street in Hays until he found her car then searched for the phone connected to her home address and made the call. She was immediately smitten. Their first date, the following Friday, was at the first basketball sell out game at Gross Memorial Coliseum.&nbsp; On December 4, 1989, Dave and Mary Alice wed in Salina, Kansas. Dave served as an Ellis County Sheriff’s Deputy from 1985 to 1987 before joining the Kansas Highway Patrol in 1987, where he served for thirty years. Retiring as a lieutenant in the patrol, he had been in charge of the Breath Alcohol Unit and for a time the Drug Recognition Unit. He was hired back two months later as a consultant in 2018. Throughout his law enforcement career, he formed many friendships and always considered coworkers as family. He enjoyed spontaneous coddiwomple road trips with his wife where they tried local cuisine and serenaded one another on long drives. Dave was the life of the party bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He was a brilliant man and a great storyteller. Dave’s knowledge of trivia was uncanny. His quirky sense of humor, fierce protective spirit and loving nature made for many memorable moments with family and friends. Dave was a loyal friend to all and shared his love of life and big heart with those lucky enough to find him in their company. A dedicated father and grandfather, Dave was the announcer for the basketball and football games for Ell- Saline High School from 2004 until 2018. He attended every school program and ball game his three children and grandchildren participated in. David Allen Weed

Frederick “Dwaine” Shorman passed to his heavenly choir on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the age of 91.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dwaine was born on July 22, 1930, the second son and third child of 
William Frederick and Lauretta Victoria Sumners Shorman in Morganville, 
Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

His elementary years were spent at Morganville and Clay Center 
Schools.&nbsp; He was president of his senior class and enjoyed sports, 
drama, and music. Dwaine graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948. 
He earned his private airplane pilot’s license in 1968 and later earned 
an Aircraft and Powerplant Mechanics license from Kansas State Tech 
Institute.&nbsp;

In 1953, he married Rosalie Woellhof of Clay Center and farming 
continued to be their way of life.&nbsp; He was a farm owner, manager, 
operator and mechanic for 53-plus years. &nbsp;Dwaine and Rosalie lived on 
their family homestead for 64 years, the same farm his 
great-grandparents owned. He enjoyed remodeling and upgrading their 
family home which was built in 1874. &nbsp;He took much pride and 
satisfaction in continuing this farming tradition of over 100 years.&nbsp; 
Other work accomplishments: worked ten years for the ASCS, represented 
Vigortone Feed and Archer Oil, and worked at Fullington 
Lumber.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Music was the enjoyment of his life and a song was always on his 
lips.&nbsp; His music career began in high school and developed into solo 
work, quartets, church choir, leading the singing and fulfilling 
requests at weddings, funerals, churches and community events.&nbsp; Playing 
the trombone and cornet was an added compliment to his musical 
accolades.

Dwaine enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his three boys.&nbsp;&nbsp; The 
family enjoyed flying, baseball, basketball, boating, waterskiing, snow 
skiing and riding motorcycles.

Some of Dwaine’s most memorable experiences involve a missionary work
 tour to Kenya, Africa, ministering along with his wife Rosalie, with 
the local Marriage Encounter group called “Flame," and members of the 
Holiday Ramblers Sunflower RV Club.

As a young man of 19, he committed his life to Christ.&nbsp; Dwaine was a 
member of the First Baptist Church and was a spiritual leader. He was 
involved in the music and drama ministry, taught Sunday school classes, 
and served as a deacon.

Dwaine loved being a family man.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was so proud of their three 
sons, Gary, Darcy and Mark, their wives, grandchildren, and great 
grandchildren.&nbsp; He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, 
brother, a good friend and neighbor.&nbsp;&nbsp; He will be missed by those who 
knew him as a friendly, kind, helpful, and caring person.

Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Betty Jean, 
and brothers Don and Robert. &nbsp;He is survived by his wife Rosalie, his 
three sons and their families, two sisters, sister-in-law, and numerous 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, April 29, 2022, at the 
First Baptist Church in Clay Center with Pastor Matthew Coleman 
officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am
 on Friday at the church. Burial will be at 3 pm in the Fairview 
Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or to Voice of the 
Martyrs and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.

Shasta S. Crum&nbsp;passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her home in Salina, KS after battling brain cancer. Shasta was born on June 4, 1984 in Salina, KS. 

She graduated from South High School in 2002, then attended Fort Hays University and Bethany College. 

Shasta married Steven, the love of her life in 2009 and welcomed their first of five daughters in 2011. 

Shasta was a wonderful wife, mother and daughter with a beautiful soul. She radiated such a positive light and was always a joy to be around. She was a diabetic champion for 30 years, never letting it hold her back in any way. Shasta blessed us all with her infectious smile, laugh, beautiful voice and love for all. She will be missed dearly.

Shasta is survived by her husband Steven; daughters Amara, Tiana, Olivia, Nalia and Bianca, .mother and stepfather Mary Lu and Dale Triplitt, stepbrother Joshua F. Triplitt,grandmothers Elizabeth (Betty) Bachofer, Jane Rogge and Glenda Triplitt, mother-in-law and father-in-law Sara and Galen Crum. 

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Daniel J. Bachofer, Dr. Reverend Stan Rogge and F.D.Triplitt.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Monday April 25, with family greeting friends from 6-8pm with a rosary vigil at 7 p.m. at Ryan Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, at Assaria Lutheran Church, Assaria, KS.

Larry L. Weis, 73, Minneapolis, died Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his home. Larry was born December 23, 1948, in Salina to Howard and Mae (Eckels) Weis.

Larry was a graduate of Minneapolis High School and he served in the Army Reserves for seven years. He and Cecilia Doering were united in marriage on December 28, 1968, in Minneapolis. Larry was a lifelong farmer and he served on the Bennington Fire Department for numerous years. He also enjoyed being Santa Claus for many years in the area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Art Weis and Wilma Fraser.

Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Cecilia; children Charles “Chuck” Weis, Richard Weis and his wife, Lisa, Michael Weis and his wife, Faunett, Amy Weis, and Chanel Barrett; “adopted son” Evan Muller; brothers Ron and Steve Weis; sisters Norma Kisling and Ella Mae Hughes; and 16 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 11:00a.m., Friday, April 29 at the Bennington Fire Station, 586 N. 180th&nbsp;Road, Bennington.

Diantha (Dee) Lynn Christensen Borden Davis, passed away on March 10, 2022 in Salina, Kansas. She was born in Denver, CO in 1958 to Fenton Christensen and Veleda McCord. Both preceded her in death. Dee is survived by her Stepmother, Sharon Christensen of Saginaw TX; two children, Brandon Borden (Andra) of Killeen TX and Stacie Salazar (Tim Ramos) of Waco TX; sisters Linda Hinnenkamp (Jack) of Salina Ks, Kim Patten (Jeff Brough) of Albuquerque NM, Michelle Sides (Roger) of Fayetteville, AR, Candy Freeman (David) Saginaw, TX, and brothers Chris Christensen of Fayetteville AR, David Jones (Cindy Fiocca Bloom) of Manhattan, IL; Aunt and Uncle Bernice and Clyde Mynatt of Ft Myers FL; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews, 2 cousins and her cat, Toby.

Dee had many accomplishments in her life. She worked at Texas Instruments, was a hair stylist and a prison guard while living in Texas. She lived in Albuquerque, NM, for a time where she went to school for medical assisting and spent her last 11 years in Salina, KS. She loved music and sang and played piano for her church. She loved painting and was a great writer. She was smart and funny and loved by everyone she met. Dee was a tough little cookie and prevailed no matter what life threw at her. The many health challenges she faced over the last few years finally took her home to her eternal Father. She will be missed.

Dee’s final resting place will be beside her mother at Highland Cemetery in Winfield, KS. A private Celebration of Life was held in Salina.

Memorials may be made to Friends of the Animal Shelter or Meals on Wheels in Salina KS.

Hannelore Marie (Stahl) Young, age 75, of rural Wakefield, died April 20, 2022 at Advena Living of Clay Center.&nbsp; She was born November 28, 1946 in Heidelberg, Germany to Erdmute Stahl and raised by her grandmother, Anna Stahl.&nbsp; 

Hannelore married and moved to the United States in 1977 becoming a U.S. citizen on July 22, 1983.&nbsp; Hanna worked very hard for her U.S. citizenship completing classes and learning English.&nbsp; She was very proud to be an American.&nbsp; 

Hanna spent her career working in school and hospital cafeterias preparing wonderful food. Her knowledge and love of cooking was cultivated by her grandmother, Anna. &nbsp;&nbsp;She was known for making her native German dishes and serving them to her co-workers and friends.&nbsp; She loved sending greeting cards to her friends to celebrate all of their special occasions.

Hanna was a member of the Mizpah United Methodist Church.&nbsp; &nbsp;She is survived by her brother Bernhard H. Stahl of Heidelberg, Germany and her cousin Gudrun R. H. Woelke of Leimen, Germany.&nbsp;

 In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mizpah United Methodist Church.&nbsp;
