Mother of Jody Waldrop (Abilene) and Lori Amanda Waldrop (Pembroke Pines, FL). 

She was preceded in death by her eldest son Shannon and her husband William Travis Waldrop. 

Carol was born in Detroit, MI, moved to Florida in her teens and married in her early twenties. After marriage, she lived in her same house for 62 years until moving to Kansas. 

Her love of life was teaching kindergarten kids for 23 years. 

After teaching, she was very active in her Neighborhood Watch program with the sheriff's office and campaigned with Florida Republicans. She helped candidates such as Jeb Bush and Allen West have victories in their roles and even won an award from the mayor upon her retirement with the neighborhood watch team. 

After moving to Kansas in April, Carol would often say, "When will I be going home?" You have now made it, Mom! You are now at home with Jesus! Will see you again. 

The family has selected cremation and there will be no local services.

Gary Dale Peckham, 71, of Salina, was born in Salina, on November 6, 1950. After a three-year fight with lung cancer, he passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022. 

He graduated from Salina High School in 1968 and Salina Vo Tech in January 1970 with a degree in diesel mechanics.&nbsp; He spent the next 44 years "turning wrenches," as he called it. His work took his family from Salina to Denver then to Fort Smith, Arkansas, and back to Salina. He retired from Foley Eq.

At 15, he met the love of his life, Linda White. They were married July 26, 1969. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2019 with an Alaskan Cruise. They decided they couldn’t top that. He was an avid outdoorsman learning from his father-in-law.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; daughters Jeri Peckham (Terry Davis), Jeni Gregg (Jeremy); five grandchildren, Jordan Owings (Aaron), Cory Peckham (fiancé Jasmine Tabares), Zac Peckham, Kyle Peckham and Ella Gregg; sister Mary Jo Clements of Las Cruces, NM; mothe-in-law Katherine White; in-laws Cindy Lively (Jeff), Elena Thelen; Mike White (Tammy); nine nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Berdine; grandparents; father-in-law Mike White, Sr.; brothers-in-law Roger Searcy and Frank Thelen III.

Bill was drafted into the U.S. Army and served as a medic during the Vietnam War. He was a nurse anesthetist with a private practice covering North Central Kansas and later with Anesthesia Associates of Central Kansas in Salina, Kan.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janice (Sams) Kline; son Michael Kline (Carrie) and grandchildren Caleb and Connor; son Justin Kline (Sara) and grandchildren Katelyn, Kirsten, Jacob, and Joshua; sister Connie Macedo, and his niece and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Ronald Macedo.

Bill’s wishes were for cremation. There will be a private family service at a later date.

Survivors include his wife Thom (Nguyen) Pham; a daughter, Christine (Jason) Jeong, of Irving, Texas; son Alex Pham, of Salina, Kansas; and granddaughter Madeline Jeong.

Cong is also survived by a sister, Tien Pham; and three brothers, Chung Pham (Dung), Vinh Pham, and Thang Pham.

 James and Toni Simpson were united in marriage on July 28, 1973.&nbsp; He worked for ElDorado and KASA for many years as a welder.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather Jack E. Smith.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Toni; sons Jim Swagerty and his wife, April and John Swagerty and his wife, Christina; brother Lloyd Swagerty and his wife, Judy; sister Jeri Wimer and her husband, Joel; four grandchildren, Madison, Emily, Hannah, and Trevor; one great-grandson, Liam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Goodland, Kansas, resident&nbsp;Craig Wayne Holmes&nbsp;was born&nbsp;November 28, 1965, in&nbsp;Garden City, Kansas,&nbsp;to&nbsp;Robert and Frankie (Harp) Holmes.&nbsp;He passed away on September 10, 2022, at the Aurora Medical Center&nbsp;in Aurora, Colorado.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was 56 years old.

He&nbsp;attended school in Sheridan Lake and graduated from Plainview High School in 1984.

Craig worked for approximately 30 years with Caldwell Furniture and Garcia’s Furniture as a delivery and repairman. &nbsp;In his free time, he enjoyed going fishing, playing video games and watching football.

He was&nbsp;preceded&nbsp;in death by&nbsp;his parents.

He is survived by&nbsp;his siblings Debra (Joe) Bennett of Goodland, Kansas, Larry Homes of Goodland, Kansas, and Roger (Cindy) Holmes of Salina, Kansas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

John Vicencio, Jr., 72, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas.

John was born January 8, 1950, in McPherson, Kansas to John Vicencio, Sr. and Thora (Todd) Vicencio. John was raised with four older sisters, Patricia, Marian, Joan, and Delores. When John was 20 months old, he was diagnosed with epilepsy and severe cerebral palsy. He was raised at home and was treated no differently than his siblings.

After the death of his parents and sister, Joan, John was transitioned into the Disability Supports program in 1999, where he has resided since that time. 

While at Disability Supports, he had learned to operate a computer using different programs, became a “gamer” on different systems with the help of staff and friends. He also enjoyed community outings of fishing, bowling, concerts, dances, visiting museums, fairs and living a full life with his friends and the staff at Disability Supports. Some of his biggest pleasures were coloring, Spider Man, cartoons, his magazines, trucks and anything Western, his biggest hero being “The &nbsp;Duke.”&nbsp; However, John’s biggest joy was spending time with his family during the holidays.

John is survived by his many nieces and nephews, friends, and caregivers. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John, Sr. and Thora Vicencio; half-sisters Patricia Rodriquez-Sampson and Marian Seely; sisters Delores Houltberg and Joan Maske; nephew Daniel Rodriquez; and a niece Ashleigh Copeland.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.

Andrew Lysle James, 52, died September 8, 2022, at home in Clay Center, Kansas. Andrew was born October 26, 1969, the youngest of two boys born to Veryl and Carole (Hedlind) James of Clay Center. The family farmed in the Ladysmith Community in Exeter Township Clay Center.

Andrew attended grade school and junior high in Wakefield, Kansas; was a member of the Clay Center United Methodist Church; and a member of the Cloverleaf 4-H Club, with his own small sheep herd. He graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1988 and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting at Kansas State University in 1992. Andrew served in accounting positions for ADM, PDA, John Deere and Kansas State University, and as a USDA dairy inspector.

Andrew married Margaret "Maggie" O'Brien in 1994. She died March 1, 2007. Andrew has a son, Dylan Anderson James, 14, from a previous relationship.

Andrew is best remembered by friends and family for his love of movies, and his uncanny ability to recall the names of the directors and writers of, as well as the actors in all the movies. He could also recite many movie lines word for word. Additionally, he liked to read (much like his dad) and enjoyed music. One of his most-recent favorite songs was a Mac Davis piece called "Uncle Boogar Red and Byrdie Nelle" that talks about working on the farm all week and visiting family on the weekend, a tradition he fondly recalled from his childhood.

Andrew is also remembered as a tall, big-hearted man, who loved to eat as long as he didn't have to cook. Pizza was one of his favorites from childhood through adulthood. Despite being a homebody, Andrew often stepped outside his comfort zone to take his companion of the past five years, Erika Swearengin, to Kansas City Royals baseball games, museums and exploring other cities. He also enjoyed spending time with Erika's three daughters, Colleen, Moira and Orlagh Regan. 

Andrew also liked to fish, as going to the pasture "over West" to fish was one of the extended family’s favorite gathering spots. Andrew didn't like water and never learned to swim, which is evidently not genetic, as his son is on his school's swim team.

Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Veryl; his former wife, Maggie; and both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by his son Dylan of Ottawa, Kansas; his mother Carole James of Clay Center; his brother and sister-in-law Derek and Karra James of Clay Center; nephew and niece Keaton and Allison James of Clay Center; his companion Erica Swearengin and her daughters of Junction City, Kansas; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home of Clay Center.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14 at the funeral home.

Mary’s life began on September 15, 1931, in Lansing, MI.&nbsp; She was the daughter of Dr. Howard W. and Myrtle L. (Tobias) Johnson.&nbsp; 

Mary is a 1947 graduate of Greenbelt High School in Maryland. She served her country in the United State Air Force from 1952 – 1954 as an assistant in a medical hospital. Mary was a homemaker and served as a teacher’s aide for over 20 years.&nbsp; 

She was united in marriage to Roland Yerion on November 1, 1953, in New Mexico. 

Mary was an avid quilter and was a member of Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion.&nbsp; She was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.&nbsp; 

Mary is survived by her children Shawn (Tom) Wunderlick of Marion, Deckie (Tim) Kerfoot of Washington, Nona (Dwayne) Woolbright of South Carolina, and Heather (Kristin) Yerion-Keck of Kansas City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.&nbsp; 

Mary passed away at Hillsboro Community Hospital on Monday, September 12, 2022.&nbsp;

Gaylen Dean Kickhaefer was born May 6, 1941, to Herman and Amanda (Timm) Kickhaefer in Woodbine. He was baptized May 25, 1941, and confirmed on April 17, 1955, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. 

Gaylen lived on the family farm southeast of Woodbine while growing up and attending the Woodbine Schools. He graduated from Woodbine High with the class of 1959. After graduation, Gaylen worked on a custom-cutting crew for a summer.

He was united in marriage to Carol Beth Gillett on November 3, 1960, and were blessed with 61 years together. To the union, six children were born: Gail, Todd, Van, Cindy, Debbie, and Nancy. 

Gaylen and Carol made a life of farming and lived all their married life on the farm outside of Woodbine. Together, they ran a hog and cattle operation. Gaylen worked for the Woodbine Co-op and the Navarre Co-op until 1976 when he went full-time farming.

Gaylen was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carol, his parents, son Van and grandson T.J. 

He is survived by son Todd; daughters Gail (Matt) Nemmers, Cindy (Tracy) Rietzke, Deb (Jeff) Meisenheimer, and Nancy (Glen) Brockmeier. He is also survived by his grandchildren Eric Albrecht, Brittany Kickhaefer, Amanda and April Kickhaefer, Kylie (Michael) Yeager, Morgan (Fiancé Nick Boeth) Rietzke, Kelbi and Kamryn Meisenheimer, Holly, Meghan, Amber, and Tyler Brockmeier, eight great- grandchildren and a brother, Mark (Barb) Kickhaefer.

Gaylen was an avid athlete and sports fan his entire life. He told stories of many townteam basketball and baseball games and the activities that often accompanied those events. Gaylen coached his boys in baseball when they were young and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. One would love to know the miles he put on vehicles driving to and from ballgames. Gaylen also enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends on fishing trips. The stories he would tell from those memories brought a smile to his face.

Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington, on Sunday, September 11th&nbsp;from 4 – 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12th&nbsp;at 10:30 a.m. at the church with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. A time of fellowship will be following the burial at the church.

He was baptized May 25, 1941, and confirmed on April 17, 1955, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Gaylen lived on the family farm southeast of Woodbine while growing up and attending the Woodbine Schools. He graduated from Woodbine High with the class of 1959. After graduation, Gaylen worked on a custom-cutting crew for a summer.He was united in marriage to Carol Beth Gillett on November 3, 1960, and were blessed with 61 years together. To the union, six children were born: Gail, Todd, Van, Cindy, Debbie, and Nancy. Gaylen and Carol made a life of farming and lived all their married life on the farm outside of Woodbine. Together, they ran a hog and cattle operation. Gaylen worked for the Woodbine Co-op and the Navarre Co-op until 1976 when he went full-time farming.Gaylen was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carol, his parents, son Van and grandson T.J. He is survived by son Todd; daughters Gail (Matt) Nemmers, Cindy (Tracy) Rietzke, Deb (Jeff) Meisenheimer, and Nancy (Glen) Brockmeier. He is also survived by his grandchildren Eric Albrecht, Brittany Kickhaefer, Amanda and April Kickhaefer, Kylie (Michael) Yeager, Morgan (Fiancé Nick Boeth) Rietzke, Kelbi and Kamryn Meisenheimer, Holly, Meghan, Amber, and Tyler Brockmeier, eight great- grandchildren and a brother, Mark (Barb) Kickhaefer.Gaylen was an avid athlete and sports fan his entire life. He told stories of many townteam basketball and baseball games and the activities that often accompanied those events. Gaylen coached his boys in baseball when they were young and loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. One would love to know the miles he put on vehicles driving to and from ballgames. Gaylen also enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends on fishing trips. The stories he would tell from those memories brought a smile to his face.Visitation will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Herington, on Sunday, September 11th&nbsp;from 4 – 6 p.m. with a prayer service at 5 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Monday, September 12th&nbsp;at 10:30 a.m. at the church with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Melvin M. (Mel) Gradert was born January 31, 1929, in Newton, Kansas, at the then Axtell Hospital. He was the son of John F. Gradert and Georgia (Jorja) (porter) Gradert. 

He attended Newton schools through the seventh grade. One notable event which nearly ended his life occurred when he was ten years old. While walking from Cooper School he was run over by a Santa Fe Freight Train at the Broadway and Walnut Street crossing, but miraculously escaped with minor injuries, having fallen between the rails unconscious until the train had passed.

When his family moved to Wichita, he attended Marshall Intermediate and graduated North High School in 1947. He attended and graduated from Wichita University, and upon graduation entered the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean war.

 In 1956 he entered Washburn University Law School, graduating in February 1959. 

He was selected as law clerk for then United States District Judge, later 10th Circuit Judge, Dehnas Hill. He then became an assistant county attorney in Wichita serving under Keith Sanborn, then County Attorney. Following a year as a Sedgwick County Prosecutor he was appointed Assistant United States Attorney by Robert Kennedy, serving in the Wichita office. He later was appointed a Special Attorney General under Robert Londerholm. 

He later served as Counsel to the Garvey Companies.

 In 1970 he returned to Newton and joined the Speir, Stroberg &amp; Sizemore firm. In 1975 he was asked and accepted appointment as County Counselor and County Administrator for Harvey County, a position he held until 1980 when he was appointed District Judge for the Eighth Judicial District by Governor John Carlin. This required a move to Marion County, and he traveled the district which consisted of Marion, Morris, Dickinson, and Geary Counties. After retirement he was appointed as Senior Judge where he served until 2005. He continued to hear cases as retired judge when assigned.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his wife Janice (pierce) Gradert; son Steven K. (DeAnn) Gradert of Wichita, daughter Kimberly A. Miller, San Bernardino CA; grandchildren Jessica (Mike) Zacharias, and Lauren (Grant) Langhofer, and Mitchell (Katie) Gradert and Alesia and Simeon Miller; great-grandchildren Ella, Mia Zacharias, and Fiona, Louisa Langhofer; stepchildren Jackie (Mike) Sigwing of Wichita, Ed (Linda) Robinson of Florence, Kevin (Janet) Robinson of Florence; and stepgrandchildren Kelly (David) Seume of Kansas City, Jeremy (Katlyn) Robinson of Newton, KayCee (Isaac) Hett of Marion, and Krisde (Tervor) Kruse of Marion; and stepgreat-grandchildren Hayden, Hallie Heidi, Henri Seume, and Kolten, Jaylee, Kenzi, Jentry Robinson; sister Bonita (Gradert) Jarvis, of Grove, OK;&nbsp; and a host of Porter family cousins.

His philosophy as a judge was that there were three things needed to do a good job as a judge, and that was patience, and patience, and patience. Those who practiced before him appreciated his willingness to listen. He enjoyed his work and family and laughter. One of his philosophies was to not take himself too seriously, and he was always quick with a joke to ease tensions when necessary.

He was an avid but not particularly good golfer. He was member of Masonic Lodge 142, Newton, past member of Midian Shrine, member and Past Commander, Hillsboro Post 366, member of American Legion Post 2 Newton, and a member and past Exalted Ruler of Newton Lodge 706 of The BPOE Newton.

He attended Newton schools through the seventh grade. One notable event which nearly ended his life occurred when he was ten years old. Donna was a 1976 graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas

She was a member of the American Legion Women’s Aux., McPherson, Kansas

Donna worked for Bill’s Outdoor Sports in McPherson, Kansas within the customer service department for many years.&nbsp; She also was a housekeeper.&nbsp; In 2014, Donna moved back to Concordia to be closer to her grandchildren, where she lived out the rest of her days.

She truly loved fishing, gardening and most of all, spending time with her family and beloved grandchildren.&nbsp; Donna was always willing and able to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Survivors include her daughter Jennifer Zimmerman (Roland), Concordia, KS; four grandchildren, Heather Montague (Chris), Crystal, Greysen and Ayden and one great-grandchild, Zoey; a brother, Eddie Linden, Denver, CO; three sisters, Tina Collins and Becky Womack, both of Concordia, KS; and Lisa Linden, Salina, KS;

She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy Tate, parents, son Charles Cyre, a brother, Tim Bisnette.

Donna’s wishes were to be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later time.

Barbara Marie (Kijowski) Jones, 67, of Chapman, passed away September 11, 2022. She was born September 3, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Stanley and Teresa (Ziolo) Kijowski. 

They moved to Abilene in 1959 where she attended the local school districts and graduated from Abilene High School in 1973. 

On October 20, 1973 she was united in marriage to Ronald Jones. To this union two sons were born, Randy and Greg. 

Barb worked for Dickinson County for 44 ½ years. She started in the appraiser’s office and moved to the County Clerk’s office in 1989. She was elected as County Clerk/Election officer in 2008 and took office in 2009. Barb belonged to the North Central County Clerk’s Association and served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President and retired in&nbsp; 2021. 

She was a member of Sutphen Mill Church, rural Chapman. Barb enjoyed time with all family, reading, word search puzzles, and cross-stitching items for many people. 

She is survived by her loving husband Ron of the home; two sons, Randy (Hesper) of Bloomington, Illinois and Greg (Shannon) of Blue Springs, Missouri; brothers Stan (Kathy) of Kansas City, Missouri, Andrew (Lisa) of Abilene, Kansas, Michael (Jacque) of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren Erik, Corinna, Penelope and Isabelle Jones; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Teresa Kijowski. 

Funeral services for Barb will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022 at Chapman United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Sutphen Mills Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5- 8 p.m. at Londeen-Overlease Funeral Chapel in Chapman.

Timothy Morgan Nelson was born October 7, 1959 in Manhattan, Kansas, the third child of Robert and Lavon (Shea) Nelson. Timothy passed peacefully on September 9, 2022 surrounded by his family in his home in rural Chapman, Kansas.

Tim spent his youth roaming the Flint Hills south of Manhattan and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather. He received his education in Manhattan schools, graduating from Manhattan High in 1977. 

He pursued four years of apprenticeship training through Plumbing and Pipefitters Local 411, licensing as a journeyman plumber --following in the footsteps of his father, Robert. 

He loved doing commercial plumbing and helped build or refurbish many of the buildings at Kansas State University and Fort Riley. He received his master plumber license and was an ownership partner in starting the Mid-State Mechanical business in Manhattan. Timothy taught the plumbing trade at Flint Hills Job Corps for a number of years before returning to commercial plumbing to participate in the build of the Biosecurity Research Institute on Kansas State University. He served as the building's facility utility manager for several years before returning to commercial plumbing. On November 26, 1982 Timothy married the love of his life, Deborah A. Diehl in Manhattan, Kansas at First Lutheran Church. To this union two children were born. The Nelson family loved to travel and spent many spring breaks on the Colorado ski slopes, cruising the Caribbean or visiting many cities of the United States. Since 1991, Timothy has farmed south of Chapman with his wife and son. He was the happiest when harvesting his crops and in June when Deb was riding in the combine with him he told her “It is so beautiful from up here.” Knowing it would be his final harvest, he insisted on bringing in the last load of his 2022 wheat. He is survived by his wife Dr. Deborah Diehl Nelson of the home, son Justin Nelson and wife Courtney of Chapman, daughter Dr. Kaitlynn Christiansen and husband Marshall of Manhattan, three beloved granddaughters Mackenzie and Allison Christiansen and Hollis Nelson,&nbsp; brother Michael Nelson and wife Lindsay of Manhattan,&nbsp; sister Tamra Nelson of Woodward, OK, sister-in-law Karman Diehl of Chapman, brother-in-law Donald Diehl and wife Linda of Abilene, and many loved nieces and nephews. Timothy was anxiously waiting to meet his first grandson, Morgan James Nelson.

Timothy was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and one infant brother, Robert Douglas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 14th at 10:00 a.m. Both visitation and funeral will be held at the Enterprise Community Church 210 W. South Street, Enterprise, Kansas. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery located on Oat Road south of 2000 Avenue. After burial a luncheon will be served at the Enterprise Community Church. Timothy passed peacefully on September 9, 2022 surrounded by his family in his home in rural Chapman, Kansas.Tim spent his youth roaming the Flint Hills south of Manhattan and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather. He received his education in Manhattan schools, graduating from Manhattan High in 1977. He pursued four years of apprenticeship training through Plumbing and Pipefitters Local 411, licensing as a journeyman plumber --following in the footsteps of his father, Robert. He loved doing commercial plumbing and helped build or refurbish many of the buildings at Kansas State University and Fort Riley. He received his master plumber license and was an ownership partner in starting the Mid-State Mechanical business in Manhattan. Timothy taught the plumbing trade at Flint Hills Job Corps for a number of years before returning to commercial plumbing to participate in the build of the Biosecurity Research Institute on Kansas State University. He served as the building's facility utility manager for several years before returning to commercial plumbing. On November 26, 1982 Timothy married the love of his life, Deborah A. Diehl in Manhattan, Kansas at First Lutheran Church. To this union two children were born. The Nelson family loved to travel and spent many spring breaks on the Colorado ski slopes, cruising the Caribbean or visiting many cities of the United States. Since 1991, Timothy has farmed south of Chapman with his wife and son. He was the happiest when harvesting his crops and in June when Deb was riding in the combine with him he told her “It is so beautiful from up here.” Knowing it would be his final harvest, he insisted on bringing in the last load of his 2022 wheat. He is survived by his wife Dr. Deborah Diehl Nelson of the home, son Justin Nelson and wife Courtney of Chapman, daughter Dr. Kaitlynn Christiansen and husband Marshall of Manhattan, three beloved granddaughters Mackenzie and Allison Christiansen and Hollis Nelson,&nbsp; brother Michael Nelson and wife Lindsay of Manhattan,&nbsp; sister Tamra Nelson of Woodward, OK, sister-in-law Karman Diehl of Chapman, brother-in-law Donald Diehl and wife Linda of Abilene, and many loved nieces and nephews. Timothy was anxiously waiting to meet his first grandson, Morgan James Nelson. Timothy was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and one infant brother, Robert Douglas. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 14th at 10:00 a.m. Both visitation and funeral will be held at the Enterprise Community Church 210 W. South Street, Enterprise, Kansas. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery located on Oat Road south of 2000 Avenue. After burial a luncheon will be served at the Enterprise Community Church. Mrs. Barta passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Memorial Hospital. She was born July 23, 2949 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Robert and Bertha (Weed) Cromwell. She graduated from Hutchinson High School and was a homemaker. Janeen enjoyed going to car shows, drag races, and het kitty cats, and especially loved spending time with her family. On June 22, 2002 she married Neal Barta in Abilene. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her daughter Kimberly Johnson and her husband Dave of Olathe, stepdaughter Cassie Barta of Wilson, son Todd Gordon and his wife Gwen of Inman, stepsons Austin Barta and his wife Krystal of Aurora, Colorado, Zach Barta and his wife Jenna of Ellsworth, grandchildren Brandon James, Ashley Adams, Miranda Cayson, Mariah Kammers, Dylan Martin, Barrett Davis, Tate Gordon, Alyson Sneath, Tyler Gordon, ten stepgrandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother John Randall Cromwell and her parents. The family has selected cremation and there will be no visitation.
