Eldon Donald Becker, 73, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Pinnacle Park Healthcare &amp; Rehab in Salina, KS.&nbsp; 

He worked at Sanofi Winthrop/Abbott and CertainTeed, both of McPherson.

Eldon was born on April 30, 1949, in Moundridge, KS, the son of Donald Richard and Billie Richerlee (Sutton) Becker.&nbsp; 

He graduated from McPherson High School.&nbsp; 

On March 5, 1978, Eldon was united in marriage to Donna L. Campbell in Little River, KS.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two daughters, Jamie and Jennifer.

He attended Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson.

Survivors include two daughters, Jamie Hamel of Edmond, OK and Jennifer Bontrager (Brian) of Yoder, KS; siblings Jeanene Krough (Mark) of Randolph, VA, Darrell Becker (Shelly) of Coffeyville, KS, and Sandra Thomas of McPherson, KS; two grandchildren, Michael Bontrager and Daniel Bontrager; and many more extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.&nbsp; The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 22, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Black officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.

Eloise Marie McKnight Lichty, 98, passed away peacefully at Angel Arms, in McPherson, KS, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

Eloise was born in Quinter, Kansas, on January 26, 1925, to Verna (Long) and John D. McKnight.&nbsp; 

Following graduation from Quinter High School, she attended McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas, where she met D. Eugene Lichty from Waterloo, Iowa.&nbsp; 

They were married on August 20, 1944, and enjoyed nearly 70 years together.&nbsp; From 1946-1948 this young couple volunteered in Carrara, Italy, under church auspices, helping orphans after wartime.

Being part of the Church of the Brethren was important throughout Eloise’s life.&nbsp; She lived faithfully as a pastor’s wife, bringing her gift of music, of directing plays and children’s musicals, the art of being a hostess, and her concern for others to every church they served, in Oklahoma, Missouri, Ohio, and Arizona.&nbsp; In 1993, she and Eugene made their home in McPherson, KS, where they enjoyed participating in the McPherson Church of the Brethren and being part of McPherson College cultural events.&nbsp; And in her 60s decade, Eloise completed her own college education at Mac!

Eloise and Eugene hosted three year-long high school exchange students, from three different continents.&nbsp; Whenever foreigners arrived in town, the Lichtys wanted to help them feel welcomed. They also had a habit of inviting any newcomers to church, either to their home for a meal or out for Sunday lunch.&nbsp; 

Eloise had a fine soprano voice and sang in church and civic choirs for many years.&nbsp; To supplement a pastor’s income, she gave piano lessons, taught kindergarten, and worked in a doctor’s office.&nbsp; 

She will also be remembered for her fine culinary skills, including a short while in a private catering service with her friend ImoJean Frantz.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marlys Bengston, and her husband Eugene.&nbsp; 

Survivors include two daughters and three sons:&nbsp; Jean (Francis) Hendricks, McPherson; Marilyn (Rob) Rosenow, Beaverton, OR; Dan (Lynne) Lichty, McPherson; Kent (Lori) Lichty, Lee’s Summit, MO; Lyle (Ilona) Lichty, Mt. Vernon, IA; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 25, 11:00 a.m. at the McPherson Church of the Brethren, McPherson, Kansas.&nbsp;

Sharon Christine Schwemmer passed away peacefully at her home in Lucas on February 14, 2023.

She was born November 9, 1950 in Russell, KS to Melvin &amp; Irene Hendershott.&nbsp; She attended school in Natoma Kansas.

She married Timothy Schwemmer on December 30, 1988 in paradise Kansas, and they moved to Lucas in 1989.

Sharon owned and operated the Hair Cottage in Lucas Kansas until her retirement in 2000.&nbsp; After her retirement she worked for the Lucas Nursing Home and the Lucas Public Library.

Sharon enjoyed working in her garden and creating butterfly habitats.&nbsp; She regularly attended the Lucas Methodist Church.&nbsp; She will be remembered for her strong faith, her kindness, and her gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Ray Hendershott.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years Timothy; children Brian (Brandi) Angel of Paradise, KS, Travis (Natalie) Angel of Indianapolis, IN, Andrea Herreman of Oakley, KS; a sister Rhonda (Glen) Strecker of Overland Park, KS; a brother Ron (Lisa) Hendershott of Hays, KS; Grandchildren Tana, Kaden, and Gage Herreman, Alice Angel and Beau Angel.

Doris G. Swenson, 94, passed away February 13, 2023 at her hillside home outside of Lindsborg. Doris
was born February 28, 1928 in rural Rindal, Minnesota, the youngest of four children to Richard and
Anna Krogstad.



Doris attended a one-room country schoolhouse 1 ½ miles from her home through eighth grade, high
school in Crookston, MN, and graduated from the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN in 1948.


While in Minneapolis, she worked at the Augsburg Publishing House, and then was employed as a
parish worker in Albert Lea, MN.



Doris married Edgar Swenson on April 22, 1956 in Rindal, Minnesota. 

After living four years in Salina,
Kansas, they moved to a farm northwest of the Salemsborg Church, where they farmed and raised their
family until moving to Lindsborg in 1990. In the fall of 2019, Doris became a “country girl” again when
she moved in with her daughter and son-in-law until her death.



God was truly the center of Doris’s life, and she shared her faith with countless youth through a lifetime
of teaching. She started teaching Sunday School when she was barely out of confirmation, and
continued well into her 80s, saying “there’s still so much for me to learn.” She also taught VBS,
confirmation classes, and Lindsborg’s Weekday Church School.



She found joy in music, and shared that joy by directing the Salemsborg Lutheran Church Choir for 35
years, as well as the children’s choir during the Sunday School hour. She wrote and directed the Sunday
School Children’s Christmas program for several years, and directed the musical “Life” for the high
school youth in the 70s. She was a soprano soloist, singing The King Is Coming for dozens of funerals at
Salemsborg. She enjoyed singing Handel’s Messiah and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Bethany
Oratorio Society.



After the death of her husband, Doris spent her time volunteering at the Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg,
the Lindsborg Hospital Auxiliary, and Hospice of Salina. She was active with the Lindsborg Retired
Church Workers and many events at the Lindsborg Evangelical Covenant Church including the 55+
group, Missions Interest, and mentoring other women.

Doris was a wonderful cook and seamstress. Not very many people know that she was an artist -
preferring oil painting, mainly of country scenes and landscapes. 

She was humble and kind, did not
complain, and her family is unable to remember her ever showing outward anger or frustration. She
was content. Never thinking that she would live long enough to meet her first great-grandchild, she was
delighted every time she got to see all five of them!



Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Edgar Swenson; her parents Richard and
Anna Krogstad; and her brothers Earl, Arthur, and Clifford Krogstad.



She is survived by her son Keith (Micki) Swenson of Smolan, daughter Nita Kay (Wayne) Carlson of Lindsborg,
grandchildren Jason (Michelle) Carlson, Suzanna Swenson, Eric (Yesica) Swenson, Brandon Carlson,
Hannah (Elias) Peterson; great-grandchildren Emmett, Vivia, Bekah, Ava, and Abby; sister-in-law Jean
Krogstad of Fertile, MN, numerous nieces and nephews, foster-daughter Mary (Justin) Carlson with
children Drew, Beth and Amy, and many treasured friends.



Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 17 at Crick-Christians Funeral Home, 103 N. Washington, Lindsborg. 

Interment and committal services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, at Salemsborg Lutheran Cemetery, rural Smolan.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Lindsborg Evangelical Covenant Church.

Richard Earl Keim, Jr., 53, of McPherson, KS, and formerly of New Jersey, California, and Hawaii, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, surrounded by family at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. 

Richard was&nbsp; a United States Navy Veteran, serving during Operation Desert Storm. He was a former police officer for the City of McPherson from 1997 to 2018, and was most recently a Senior Production Operator for Pfizer in McPherson.

Richard was born on April 8, 1969, in Trenton, NJ, the son of Richard Earl Keim, Sr. and Gail Etta (Trebil) Keim.&nbsp; 

He attended Hutchinson Community College.&nbsp; 

On March 17, 2012, Richard was united in&nbsp; marriage to Holly M. Steinert in McPherson.&nbsp;

Survivors include: his loving wife Holly Steinert-Keim of the home; children Amanda Duever (Corey) of Sarasota, FL, Amber Keim of McPherson, KS, Adalynn Keim and Ashlynn Keim, both of the home; stepsons Isaac Linscheid and Ethan Linscheid, both of McPherson, KS; mother-in-law Sheila Smith of McPherson, KS; siblings Paula Entwistle (Mark), Scott Hays, Lori Jones (Chris), and Gail Engle (Charlie); and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Hays.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Pattison officiating.

Richard was&nbsp; a United States Navy Veteran, serving during Operation Desert Storm. He was a former police officer for the City of McPherson from 1997 to 2018, and was most recently a Senior Production Operator for Pfizer in McPherson.Richard was born on April 8, 1969, in Trenton, NJ, the son of Richard Earl Keim, Sr. and Gail Etta (Trebil) Keim.&nbsp; He attended Hutchinson Community College.&nbsp; On March 17, 2012, Richard was united in&nbsp; marriage to Holly M. Joyce was born on October 5, 1930, in Salem, Oregon, to Thomas and Goldie Pearl (Monroe) McLeod.&nbsp; 

She graduated from McPherson High School.&nbsp; 

On August 1, 1954, Joyce was united in marriage to Donald Keith Rickner in McPherson.&nbsp; This union was blessed with two daughters, Lori and Diane. Keith and Joyce were married for 64 years before his passing on September 12, 2018.

She was a longtime member of the First Christian Church, McPherson.&nbsp; She also was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Amity Friendship Club, Bridge Club and TOPS of McPherson.&nbsp;

Survivors include: two daughters, Lori Hurst (Randy) of Augusta, KS and Diane Rotha (Brent) of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, Mallory Grimmett (Will), Connor Hurst, Kaleigh Hartzler (Jared), Logan Rotha, and Macie Priddy (Kelly); seven great-grandchildren, Braxton, Brayden, Atley, Avery, Kowen, Khloe, and Brylynn; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas McLeod and Harold and Goldie Stowe; husband Keith Rickner; and three siblings, Leland McLeod, Shirley Siddens, and Merrill McLeod.

Gene Kindel, age 73, of Aurora, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.&nbsp; Gene was born on April 14, 1949 in Concordia, Kansas to William “Bill” and Bernadine (Cote) Kindel.

He married Kathleen May on June 14, 1969 in Concordia, Kansas.

Gene was employed at Cloud Ceramics of Concordia, Kansas for 40 years until his retirement in April of 2014.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 3rd&nbsp;Degree K of C St. Michael Council #2114 both of Aurora, and Bishop Thill Assembly 4th&nbsp;Degree K of C.&nbsp; 

He was also a member of the Heartland Auto Club.&nbsp; Gene was the bingo chairperson of the K of C Hall in Aurora for many years and was known as the Bingo Man. He also coached Pee-Wee Baseball in Aurora for many years.&nbsp; He enjoyed shooting blue rock and woodworking.&nbsp; Gene loved attending his grandkids' sporting events and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of the home in Aurora, daughter Kathleen Miller (Tony), Aurora; sons Mike Kindel (Jackie), Concordia; Allen Kindel (Missy), Aurora; Kevin Kindel (Jennifer) Aurora; sisters Anna Marie “Amber” Charbonneau (Ray), Dewey, OK, Anita LaBarge (Mark), Aurora, Gloria Blackwood (Steve), Clay Center and Linda Kindel, Concordia; brothers Donald Kindel (Geraldine), Victoria, David Kindel (Jan), Carthage, MO, Raymond Kindel (Jolene), Aurora, Stephen Kindel (Susan), Aurora, Richard Kindel (Sheri), Aurora and Daniel Kindel, Manhattan; &nbsp;11 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William “Bill” and Bernadine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2023 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Aurora, Kansas, with Fr. David Metz officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.&nbsp; A luncheon will be served at the K of C Hall in Aurora for family and friends following the graveside service in Concordia.

Gene was born in Clay County, Kansas on September 8th, 1934, the son of Floyd E. Nelson and Rose M. (Hicks) Nelson.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Naomi (Walker) Nelson.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Jean Hughes (Pat), of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Francee Cox (Doug Ochs), of Minneapolis, Kansas, Paula Tomlins (Byron), of Topeka, Kansas; son John Hiebsch (Wendy) of Wichita, Kansas; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters Karen Wells (Dan Francke) and Sharon Babst (Larry).

Survivors include three daughters, Treasa Toland of Paola, Kansas, Lori Ringquist of Salina, Kimberly King (Phil) of Jay, Oklahoma; son Randy Schriner (Lori Fruits) of Salina; 13 grandchildren, Janeece, Dustyn, Joshua, Katlynn, Douglass, Triniti, Zackary, Christopher, Chandler, Morgan, Jordanne, Brittany, Chase; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Dean is also survived by his sister Joann Hamilton and brother Gene Graybeal (Linda), all of Salina, Kansas.

She was born to Marvin and Sylvia (Parson) Worman on December 5, 1930 in Goodland, Kansas.

She lived most of her life in Gypsum, Kansas. She graduated from Gypsum High School and married Dale C. Faelber, June 5, 1949. 

She began painting at age 14 and has art displayed in Gypsum City municipal buildings. She was a 4-H club knitting leader. In 1994, was honored “Wife of the Year” by Kansas Land Improvement Contractors Association and along with Dale received a Certificate of Appreciation for 55 years of Service. She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid photographer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin (Jack) Worman, brother in-law Jim Hall, in-laws George and Mary (Hobson) Faelber.

Survived by her husband; daughters Barbara (Roger) Messenger, Carol (Roger) Schmidt, Diane Faelber; son Gary (Deb) Faelber; sisters Pat (Dwight) Conley, Dyretha Hall; sister in-law Ruth Worman; brother Frank (Dedra) Worman; grandchildren Stephanie (Terry) Thiessen, Steven (Brenda) Messenger, Kregg (Kerri) Schmidt, Jeff Schmidt, Ashley Faelber, Zachary Faelber; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

William “Bill” R. Casey, of Eugene, Oregon passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023, at Churchill Estates Assisted living in Eugene Oregon.

Bill was born on February 25, 1929, in Everton, Missouri, the third child to the late George Dewey Casey and Olive Mae (Bell). He was raised on the homestead family farm; he attended the one-room Carlock School then graduated from Dadeville High School.

Bill entered active service November 25, 1953, and was involved in the Korean war, leaving the active duty for the reserves September 02, 1955.

He was retired but previously worked at Boeing while living in Kansas and later moved to Eugene, Oregon working in sales for insurance and trucking companies. Bill also had many friends that he would do their taxes for and continued to do taxes until long after retiring from his sales career. 

He fell in love with Eugene, Oregon and that is where he spent his years until his passing, enjoying life with many lifelong friends.

Bill enjoyed sports of all kinds especially baseball. He loved playing cribbage with anyone who would play with him and pinochle with his friends – a trip to the casinos was not out of the question.&nbsp; When his children and grandchildren visited, they were usually treated to a ball game. Bill would volunteer to work the ball games just so he had a bird’s eye view of all the games at no cost. He loved watching the Oregon Ducks, and granddaughter Susie kept him cheering for the Chiefs.

Preceded him in death besides his parents are his brothers James Casey and wife Shirley, Clearance “Duke” Casey along with great-grandson Aaron Eiden.

Graveside services will be February 20th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hampton Cemetery in Everton, Missouri.

Bill also had many friends that he would do their taxes for and continued to do taxes until long after retiring from his sales career. He fell in love with Eugene, Oregon and that is where he spent his years until his passing, enjoying life with many lifelong friends.Bill enjoyed sports of all kinds especially baseball. William 'Bill' Casey

Joyce Ann Calkins Sprecker was born on April 7, 1933, at Tescott, 
Kansas. Her parents were Melvin and Esther Calkins. She has a younger 
sister, Delores Gould, Salina, KS.

Joyce graduated from Salina High School May 1951. She 
graduated from Brown-Mackie School of Business, Salina, in 1952 and 
worked for the Salina School System as a secretary for the Director of 
Elementary Education and later for the Director of Secondary Education.

She also attended Central Bible Institute and Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, 1953-1954.

In October 1955, Joyce came to Goodland, Kansas, and was involved with 
radio and television for nine years working at KLOE, formerly KWGB and 
KBLR in Goodland, then at KSAL in Salina, Kansas. At both KBLR and KSAL,&nbsp; she was a host for a homemaker’s call-in program which she enjoyed.

Joyce was active in children’s and youth work in the First Assembly 
of God Church, Salina, Kansas, from the age of 13 on. After arriving in 
Goodland, she was active in the music an in outreach ministries of 
Calvary Gospel Church. After her marriage, she was in the music ministry
 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church until their move to Salina, Kansas in 
1962 for two years. After their move back to Sherman County and to the 
family farm, the Spreckers attended the Burlington Assembly of God 
Church. After retirement and the move to Goodland, they once again 
attended Calvary Gospel.

Joyce and David Sprecker were married on April 6, 1958. David and 
Joyce were involved with the family farm South of Ruleton and Kanorado 
until retirement March 1995 when they moved to 610 Arcade, Goodland, 
Kansas.

Joyce loved children’s work and as soon as their three boys were in 
school, became a volunteer classroom teacher’s aide in the USD 352 
Goodland. Before beginning her employment in the School Administration 
Office in 1984, she had accumulated over 9,000 hours of volunteer 
classroom work. She received state recognition of her work as a “Special
 Friend of Education."

Joyce retired from the School Administration Building in April&nbsp;1996. 
She enjoyed retirement pursuing her own personal hobbies that had been 
postponed for many years, reading, sewing, quilting, knitting and 
cooking.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister and infant 
daughter. Surviving family includes&nbsp;her husband David, three sons, David
 Jr. (Katherine), Americus, Kansas, Richard (Lori), San Marcos, Texas, 
James (Debbie) of Underwood, IA., nine grandchildren and eleven great 
grandchildren.

Thomas A. Gilkerson, 78, of Frontenac, Kansas, passed away on February 
9th, 2023, after a long illness. He was the son of Othal and Lavina 
(Herdt) Gilkerson. Thomas was born on April 29, 1944, in Salina, Kansas,&nbsp; and was the oldest of twelve children. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, infant sister Geneva and brother Marvin. He is survived by
 his wife of the home Anne (Teeter) Gilkerson and three adult children. 
His oldest daughter is Jenna and husband Larry Watson of Aurora, MO. 
Daughter Adina and husband Tony Sanchez of Pittsburg, KS. Son Travis and
 wife Kristine (Hilgart) Gilkerson of Hewitt, WI. Tom has four 
grandchildren, Ciara and Roman Sanchez and Andrew and Emma Gilkerson. 
 Tom is survived by siblings: Lela and husband Jim Ziegelmeier of 
Salina, KS, Lila and husband Wayne Krug of Salina, KS, Virginia Reed of 
Katy, TX, Verlin and wife Liz Gilkerson of Elk Grove, CA, Verna and 
husband Bill Organ of Henderson, Nevada, Wilmer and wife Gail Gilkerson 
of Marysville, KS, Lorraine Samuelson of Oakley, KS, Stanley and wife 
Esther Gilkerson of Burkburnett, TX and Pam Jackson of Hermitage, TN. 
 Tom grew up and attended schools in Oakley, Kansas. He served in the US
 Army at Red Stone Arsenal in Alabama, working with the Nike Hercules 
Missile System. He attended college at Fort Hays State University before
 marrying his wife, Anne Marie Teeter, on November 26, 1966, in Oakley, 
KS. Tom worked with several companies in his adult life including: 
Beech Aircraft, Addressograph, Ruffin Fertilizer, Grainger Farm Supply, 
and Certified Laboratories. He enjoyed working with southwest Kansas 
industries and small municipalities in the water treatment industry. Tom
 founded and operated Catalog Chemical, a water treatment consulting 
company, for several years. Later on, he was an owner-operator of two 
parcel delivery routes with RPS and FedEx. Tom enjoyed several clubs and
 organizations including: Ambucs, Optimus Club, and Lions Club, and 
always enjoyed meeting friends for coffee in Dodge City to have spirited
 discussions about current events. Tom’s family would like to 
express deep gratitude to the many healthcare professionals that cared 
for him over the past several years. Special thanks to Dr. Jacqueline 
Orender - primary care, Dr. Chang-Qing “Mickie” Xun - oncology, Dr. 
Bashar Marji – cardiology, and the amazing volunteers and staff of the 
Ascension Via Christi Cancer Center in Pittsburg, KS. Burial 
will take place on May 6, 2023, at the Oakley Cemetery in Oakley, Kansas.
 Memorial service will take place immediately after at the Buffalo Bill 
Event Center located at 3083 US Hwy 83, Oakley KS, 67748. Further 
details will be released by family members as specific times become

Ilene Theresa Boyer was born May 19,&nbsp;1933 in Aurora, Kansas. &nbsp;She passed away at her home with all of her four children at her bedside in Belleville on February 8, 2023 at the age of 89.

Ilene was the 4th&nbsp;of 10 children born to Edward and Delia (Breault) Boyer. They moved to the rural Belleville area in 1943, where she attended Bowling Green country school. &nbsp;

When she left the farm, she worked as a clerk at Duckwalls. She quit working to raise her family, and later returned to work at Duckwalls, until the store closed in 2004. 

Ilene enjoyed many hobbies, but she was an avid bowler. She enjoyed weekly bowling with close friends and sisters-in-law. She always looked forward to state bowling tournament, and also made national bowling tournaments in Reno, Nevada a couple of times. She loved spending time with her family, gathering at “the farm” for family picnics with her sister, brothers, and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She loved to travel and made several trips with her family. She especially enjoyed Deadwood, Colorado, Branson, and Prairie Band. She loved attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events football, baseball, basketball and rodeos. If she couldn’t attend, she would enjoy watching videos that her family would send her. 

She loved to do puzzles and enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds in her backyard. She also loved her plants and flowers. Saturday evening she loved listening to Daniel O’Donnell, Lary’s Country Diner, and Molly B’s Polka.

Ilene is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Delia Boyer; husbands Marvin Blackburn, Richard Zukowske, and Billy Kelly; infant son Richard J. Blackburn; son-in-law Lyle Elliott; sister and spouse Hazel Prather and Jim Prather; brothers and spouses Leland and Marilyn and Iris Boyer, Paul and Cecelia Boyer, Eddie and Peggy and Emily Boyer, Duane and Carol Boyer, Junior and Beverly Boyer; sister-in-law June Boyer; in-laws Freta and Charles Cornett, Erma and Glen Cornett, Donna Holmes, Lavon Boman, Edward and Betty Blackburn, Dale Blackburn, Ralph and Louise Zukowske, Leona and Micky Ferguson, Francis and Glen Sterba, Fern Sterba.

She is survived by children Marcia and husband George T. Hendricks, Marlene Skipton, Mary Elliott, Mark and wife Dianna Zukowske; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Michael and wife Megan – McCoy and Macy Hendricks; Ashley and her husband David – Xavier, Crichton, Shepard Hughes; Tia and her husband Trey Collins –Faith, Sammie, Caryn, Kayla, and Jay; Larz and his wife Jessica – Hayzen, Hadlee, and Harper Elliott; Tamika and son Garren Nutsch and her fiancé Cody James, Kaden Elliott, Kashaya Zukowske and significant other Tee Robinson.

Ilene is also survived by brothers&nbsp; Eldon Boyer, Raymond and his wife Susan Boyer, John and his wife Linda Boyer,Rosalyn Blackburn, Warren Holmes, Delores Boman, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, February 17th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 16th&nbsp;from 1 p.m.- 8 p.m., with rosary / vigil services at 6:30 p.m., at the funeral home. The family will greet friends following the rosary.

Memorials are requested to support the High Banks Hall of Fame Museum, Church People Concerned to benefit Meals on Wheels, or the Rocky Pond Christmas Lights. Donations to be sent in care of the funeral home.

If she couldn’t attend, she would enjoy watching videos that her family would send her. She loved to do puzzles and enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds in her backyard. She also loved her plants and flowers. Virginia B. (Shoemaker) Douglas was born on October 7, 1929, in rural Jewell County, to John and Merle (Dean) Shoemaker, and she passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 93, in Marysville.

Virginia graduated from Glen Elder (KS) High School in 1947, and she was united in marriage to Melvin Douglas on June 6, 1949. To this union two sons were born, Terry and Gary.

Virginia enjoyed arts and crafts, working on word search puzzles, and most importantly, spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, her sons Terry and Gary, sister Opal Glauser and brother Harold Shoemaker.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her daughter-in-law Lori Douglas, her grandchildren Toby Douglas, Tessa Douglas, Taylor Douglas, Robert Douglas, Skylar Douglas and Kayla Douglas. Virginia is also survived by her brother Delmar Shoemaker and sister Judy Weber.

Virginia requested cremation, and no public services will be held.

Koehn, 68, died on February 11, 2023, at the Presbyterian Manor, in Newton, Kansas. He was born on September 26, 1954, to Gilbert E. and Irene (Hostetler) Koehn. He attended Hesston schools and graduated from Hesston High School in 1972. Following graduation, he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. After resigning from the railroad, he worked various jobs in the aircraft industry. He is survived by his daughter Marie Koehn, her husband Justin Key, Oklahoma City, OK; son Dustin, his wife Cassie, of Newton, KS; granddaughters Lakyn and Kinzie; and brother Gary, his wife Donna, of Hesston. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Hesston City Cemetery, with a light lunch following at Whitestone Mennonite Church.
