Georgia Fregon, 75, died on Monday, February 27, 2023, at The Ranch House
 in Garden City. She was born on April 22, 1947, at Longmont, Colorado,&nbsp; the daughter of Fred &amp; Pearl (Basta) Sadie. She married Mike Fregon
 on September 15, 2002, at Garden City. 
Georgia grew up in Richmond, California, and attended Compton High 
School. She attended Beauty College at Richmond, California, and 
finished at Faribault, Minnesota. She moved to Garden City in 1980 and 
was a Beautician at various salons and had owned the Classic Cut Salon. 
 She was a member of Bible Christian Church in Garden City. She enjoyed
 country and Christian music but mostly be the role model and protector 
of any children she came in contact with. 
She is survived by her Husband- Mike Fregon, Son- Mike Fisher of Cedar 
Bluff, Daughter- Michelle Martinez of Valley Center, 4 Sisters- Dianne 
Hansard of Altoona, Iowa, Joni Coffield of Beloit, Suzanne Bauernfeind 
of Cottage Grove, Minnesota &amp; Marianne Rupp of Garden City and 5 
Grandchildren- Darrell Fisher, Mason Martinez, Gracie Martinez, Beau 
Martinez &amp; Bella Martinez. She is preceded in death by her Parents. 
Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in

Dennis “Doc” LeRoy Jensen was born on August 15, 1931 to Julius and Vivian Jensen. He passed away February 23, 2023, at the age of 81.

On September 15, 1963, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Morehead, and to this union, six children were born whom he is survived by: Gary Jensen (Marsha) of Scandia, Kansas, Shelley Taylor (Mike) of Apopka, Florida, Kevin Jensen (Starr) of Hastings, Nebraska, Rebecca Sargent (Steve) of Grand Junction, Colorado, Brandon Jensen of Norway, Kansas, Brady Jensen (Billie) of Meeker, Colorado. 

He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Karen Jensen of Kackley, Kansas, sisters Ronnie Kenyon of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Jean Allen of Scandia, Kansas, Loyale Scofield of Poteet, Texas, Virgene Lee of Poteet, Texas, and Deb Samuelson of Courtland, Kansas.

Those preceding him in death are his wife Kathy, his parents, brother Benny, and brothers-in-law.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Kingdom Hall in Belleville. 

Family and friends unable to attend the service can watch the service via Zoom, meeting ID 884-3402-6224, passcode is memorial. The Zoom meeting will also be live streamed at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home.

Barbara Laurine Masar, 76, passed away peacefully in Inman, KS on Feb 8, 2023. Barbara was born June 13, 1946 to Virginia Laurine Davis Fleming and Harold Joseph Fleming in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Barbara grew up in the Dallas, TX area and loved her dog, her dance classes, and her sisters deeply.

Barbara attended Ursuline Academy and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas, TX. She received her associate's degree from Monticello College in Alton, IL. 

She met her future husband Pat Masar at 2nd base of a softball game while he served in the U.S.A.F. at the Colorado Springs Air Force Base and they were united in marriage March 1, 1969. Pat’s career led them to live overseas in Taiwan (where their sons were born), and Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. Their travels enabled them to explore England, Germany, France, Austria, Egypt, Bahrain, Seychelles, Italy, Greece, and Hong Kong. While the Masars lived on the east coast, west coast and Midwest of the United States, their greatest love was for the mountains of Colorado, where they spent the majority of the years raising their family. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Virginia Davis Miller and Harold Fleming, her younger sister Jean Davis Fleming Short Pevehouse, and her nephew Brian Short.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Pat; her children Patrick, Jr. (Jennifer) McPherson, KS; Kevin (Christina) Denver, CO; Christine (Clay) Burlington, CO; her 13 grandchildren – Cora, Amelia, Margaret, Madison, April, Eve, Joey, Katarina, Tatum, Trenton, Tamlyn, Tobyn, and Tyler; her nephew Robert Short III (Tina), and her older sister Marilyn Patrice Fleming of Dallas, TX. Barbara had a sharp wit, a quick tongue, a sweet tooth, and always kept a tidy home and fashionable appearance. Her love for dogs continued into adulthood and she raised several over the years. Barbara loved seeing her grandchildren and hearing about their activities. She was always full of affection for her family. A spring memorial service is being planned for March 9th. LaMonte Prince Davis Sr., 86, of Canton, died February 26, 2023 at McPherson Health &amp; Rehab, McPherson after a brief illness. 

He was a retired employee in quality control for Certainteed in McPherson and was a rancher and former truck driver.

He was born on February 7, 1937 in Seminole, Oklahoma, the son of Glen L. and Jessie R. (Prince) Davis. 

He graduated from Canton High School and was a member of the Canton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his son LaMonte "Bud" Davis, Jr., Canton; two daughters, LaJuana Jo Colgin, Canton and LaRonda Rae Brown, McPherson; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a brother, Gary.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 at Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge. 

A memorial has been established with the Central Kansas Youth Rodeo Association, in care of Olson's Mortuary, Canton.

Kevin Lee Bolte, 63, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at his home in Lindsborg, KS. He was born June 30, 1959 in Lincoln, KS to Roland W. and G. Bernice (Ricker) Bolte. 

Kevin was a master electrician who worked for B&amp;W Electric for 26 years. For the past 17 years he founded and operated Bolte Electric. 

He married Terry (Dinkie) Wishcop in South Lake Tahoe, CA on September 18, 2004. 

Kevin was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed target and trap shooting as well as hunting. He loved 4-wheeling in the mountains and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and family.

Kevin is survived by his wife Terry of Lindsborg; daughter Heather Bloesser (Robert) of Peculiar, MO; stepchildren Chandra Cooper (Jeff) of Lindsborg, Trevor Mills of Lindsborg, Brendon Wishcop of Phoenix, AZ, and Bryanna Williams (Michael) of Manhattan, KS; grandchildren Lukas and Maiah Bloesser; step-grandchildren, Teressa and Avery Cooper; sisters Nadine Bishop (Mark), Lisa Bolte (Kris), and Angela Bolte (Kristin); nephew Brandon Bishop (Pandora); and niece Amanda Davis (Houston): great-niece Cassandra Bishop. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cheryl Ann.

James Fredrick Long was born on April 11, 1957 in Norton, Kansas, the son of Francis “Sam” and Alvera Juenemann Long. He died on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 65.

Jim and his family moved to Beloit, where he attended schools and graduated from St. John’s High School and excelled in football and track.

On August 26, 1989, he was united in marriage with Denise Charbonneau and they resided in Downs. One son, Anthony was born to this union.

Jim worked at the Farmway COOP and Midway COOP elevators for many years. Upon retiring, he helped his son Anthony on the farm.

In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting, and was a huge sports fan. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he loved spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Alvera.

Jim is survived by his wife Denise of the home; son Anthony and his wife Brooke of Downs; three adored grandchildren, Vannon, Cullen, and Lindy; siblings Diana McConnell of Oregon, Ed and his wife Lisa of Beloit, Arlene Alley of Delphos, Steve and his wife Beverly of Osborne, and John and his wife Jennifer of Oregon; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 3 at the temporary St. John's Catholic Church - former Dollar General Building in Beloit. A rosary service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the same location. 

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation.

She graduated from Hanover High School in 1969 and then Cloud County Community College. 

She married Ron Caron on August 8, 1978 in Oklahoma. 

Bev was a registered nurse and worked at St. Joseph Hospital, St. Ann’s, Nazareth Motherhouse and was DON for Sunset Nursing Home until her retirement in 2016.

She was a member of the Concordia Wesleyan Church, PEO, SASNAK, Christian Women’s Club and the hospital auxiliary.&nbsp; 

Bev loved to play Bunco and loved gardening, flowers, birds, nature but especially fond of cats. Bev was an avid Royals fan.

They built their home in the Upland community. They welcomed two sons. Marlene Margaret (Kelly) Clark, 83, Barnard, died unexpectedly after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born on May 6, 1939 at their home west of Barnard to Clyde and Hazel Kelly, an unexpected surprise coming an hour and five minutes after the birth of her twin sister. This was the same home where her father was born.

She attended school in Barnard, KS graduating with the class of 1957. She then attended Stormont Vail School of Nursing in Topeka where she earned her RN degree. 

Nine days after graduating, she married Bill Clark on September 11,1960 at the First United Methodist Church in Barnard. This marriage was blessed with four children, whom she showered with love, words of encouragement, and an unending blanket of prayer. 

Visitors to the farm were treated like another family member and knew that they could count on a good meal or snack. She would often share homemade cookies or jam and a note of encouragement with so many others in the community. In her kitchen window was an ever changing list of family, friends, and acquaintances that she prayed for as she completed her daily task.

Her grandchildren were her greatest blessing and she went out of her way to make each one of them feel cherished. A highlight for them was the annual Christmas Program, orchestrated by Grandma with costumes, a script featuring the nativity story, and lighting of advent candles (plus a few other candles so everyone got an equal turn). She was delighted with the birth of each new great grandchild and was so happy that they carried on this tradition of the Christmas program. Starting with their 40th anniversary, Bill and Marlene took the entire family on a vacation to Colorado every five years. What a blessing when Marlene and her four children spent a week last fall reminiscing and making new memories on a trip celebrating what would have been her wedding anniversary.

She was a lifetime member of the Barnard United Methodist Church where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. Marlene served as a pianist and spent enjoyable hours practicing her music. She was preparing one of her favorites, Amazing Grace, for her upcoming turn on Sunday. In addition to her duties as a pianist, she was also a youth group leader and was active in the UMW. She especially enjoyed children and supported the Vacation Bible School program in many capacities and served as the club leader for Salt Creek 4-H Club for many years.

After graduation from Stormont Vail she worked as an RN in both Ottawa and Lincoln County Hospitals, retiring in 2006. She was known for her caring bedside manner and kind and gentle nature. She was also an involved and supportive farm and ranch wife working alongside her husband, Bill, through the many challenges of production agriculture in helping to build their dreams of an ongoing seedstock cattle operation.

Left to celebrate her life are her children, daughter Feona and Ken Attaway of Hockley, TX; son Leland and Jan Clark of Barnard, KS; daughter Gelane and Tom Cavalli of Lincoln, KS; daughter Arleta and Chris McManaman of Topeka, KS; and AFS son, Tavish Scott of Scotland. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Keila (Tanner) Leake; Kelsie (Randy) Barta; Kara (Jordan) Erwin; Reed (Charli) McManaman; Kevin (Cassie) Cavalli; Meredith (Will) Johnson; Melissa (Aaron) Stewart; Quentin Clark; Kyle Cavalli; and Kiley McManaman; nine great-grandchildren; and her siblings Jolene Brockway; and Kenneth (Reta Fae) Kelly; and in-laws Janice Gregg, Kent (Jonette) Clark; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two grandchildren, Jonathan Clark and Megan Clark.

She was born on May 6, 1939 at their home west of Barnard to Clyde and Hazel Kelly, an unexpected surprise coming an hour and five minutes after the birth of her twin sister. This was the same home where her father was born.She attended school in Barnard, KS graduating with the class of 1957. She then attended Stormont Vail School of Nursing in Topeka where she earned her RN degree. Nine days after graduating, she married Bill Clark on September 11,1960 at the First United Methodist Church in Barnard. This marriage was blessed with four children, whom she showered with love, words of encouragement, and an unending blanket of prayer. Visitors to the farm were treated like another family member and knew that they could count on a good meal or snack. She would often share homemade cookies or jam and a note of encouragement with so many others in the community. In her kitchen window was an ever changing list of family, friends, and acquaintances that she prayed for as she completed her daily task.Her grandchildren were her greatest blessing and she went out of her way to make each one of them feel cherished. A highlight for them was the annual Christmas Program, orchestrated by Grandma with costumes, a script featuring the nativity story, and lighting of advent candles (plus a few other candles so everyone got an equal turn). She was delighted with the birth of each new great grandchild and was so happy that they carried on this tradition of the Christmas program. Starting with their 40th anniversary, Bill and Marlene took the entire family on a vacation to Colorado every five years. What a blessing when Marlene and her four children spent a week last fall reminiscing and making new memories on a trip celebrating what would have been her wedding anniversary.She was a lifetime member of the Barnard United Methodist Church where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. Marlene served as a pianist and spent enjoyable hours practicing her music. She was preparing one of her favorites, Amazing Grace, for her upcoming turn on Sunday. In addition to her duties as a pianist, she was also a youth group leader and was active in the UMW. She especially enjoyed children and supported the Vacation Bible School program in many capacities and served as the club leader for Salt Creek 4-H Club for many years.After graduation from Stormont Vail she worked as an RN in both Ottawa and Lincoln County Hospitals, retiring in 2006. She was known for her caring bedside manner and kind and gentle nature. She was also an involved and supportive farm and ranch wife working alongside her husband, Bill, through the many challenges of production agriculture in helping to build their dreams of an ongoing seedstock cattle operation.Left to celebrate her life are her children, daughter Feona and Ken Attaway of Hockley, TX; son Leland and Jan Clark of Barnard, KS; daughter Gelane and Tom Cavalli of Lincoln, KS; daughter Arleta and Chris McManaman of Topeka, KS; and AFS son, Tavish Scott of Scotland. On February 20, 2023, James Aaron Ruttkay passed
away peacefully surrounded by his loving 
 family in Barron,
Wisconsin, following a lengthy illness. He was 64 years old. 

James "Jim" was born
the eldest son of Richard and Sally Ruttkay (now of Onawa, IA) on October 
 18, 1958, in Sioux
City, IA. Jim attended school in the Sioux City School System. He was a 1978 
 graduate of North
High School. Jim married Brenda Stovner on October 3, 1981. Together they 
 raised five children
until their marriage ended. 
 Jim held various positions including Chef, Quality Control with IBP in
Dakota City, SD, Parking 
 Supervisor at The Metropolitan Club in Minneapolis, MN, and other
positions. He truly was a 
 “jack of all trades,” He worked until the onset of his illness at which
time he moved in with, and 
 was cared for by, his youngest daughter Amanda Ohlson and family. Jim
enjoyed the outdoors, 
 riding his motorcycle, caring for and raising rabbits, chickens, and
various other animals. Jim also 
 treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren. He never
tired of telling stories 
 about his time with them.

Jim leaves behind his children, four daughters:
Stephanie Snedeker (Dustin) of Hoven, SD, Brittany 
 Ricks (Barnibus) of
Liberal, KS, Nicki Merkle of Salina, KS, Amanda Ohlson (Gabe) of Hillsdale,

missed every day 
 since his passing in 2014.

David LeRoy Schneider, Sr. passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Living Center in Marion, KS on February 20, 2023, at the age of 78. He was born June 14th, 1944 in a farmhouse in Hunter, KS to Benjamin and Eulalah Schneider. 

At the age of 18, David began his career at KP&amp;L in Abilene, KS as part of their three-year apprenticeship program. This is where he developed the passion and love for his craft, often mentioning ‘there is nothing else I’d rather be doing.’ After a short stay in Abilene, KS he moved to Lincolnville, KS and continued working for KP&amp;L as a power lineman, ultimately spending his entire 40-year career with them. 

Some of the things David enjoyed doing included farm pond fishing for catfish, spending weekends camping with his family and friends at the lake, water skiing, bowling, and being active at his church. His two favorite sports teams were the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs, spending several Saturdays at Royals’ games. Monday night family tradition involved watching football, making popcorn balls, and having a Pepsi. 

David also spent several years serving his community as the mayor of Lincolnville. 

He is survived by his three children, daughter Wendy Weyand, daughter Renee (Jim) Koehn, son David (Lacinda) Schneider, two granddaughters Chérie Weyand and Rachel Weyand,&nbsp; great-granddaughter Brynlee Taylor, and sister Wilma Rauscher.

She graduated from Chapman High School with the class of 1977 and received her associate degree in accounting from Cloud County Community College. Melody was the office coordinator for Frontier Estates in Abilene and enjoyed camping, and fishing, but her greatest joy was spending with her family, especially her grandchildren. On September 6, 1980 Melody was united in marriage to Danial Elsasser in Abilene. He survives of the home. She is also survived by her daughters Michela Brown and her husband David of Abilene, Samantha Horn and her husband Tim of Kansas City, Kansas; sisters Cindi Casanova and her husband Edwin of Solomon, Dr. Shawnie Lamborn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren Tyler Brown, Isabella Horn, and Makenzie Horn.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Services for Melody will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with Pastor Lindsey Brummer officiating. James Robert “Bob” Freeman, 84, of Salina, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023.&nbsp; He was born November 25, 1938, in Salina, to James R. and Ruby Belle (Nelson) Freeman.&nbsp; 

He graduated from Salina High School and joined the United States Marine Corps for two years and was stationed in Fallon, Nevada.&nbsp; 

He owned a family business “Jim’s Truck &amp; Trailer Service,” for and with his father, then later with his son Troy.&nbsp;

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapshooting, and hanging out with friends.&nbsp; He enjoyed playing pinball, video games, shooting pool, and playing pitch.&nbsp; Bob lived his life the way he wanted to live it.

He is survived by his children Debra Brite of Phoenix, AZ, Craig Brown of Salina, Tom Brown of Ellsworth, and Troy Freeman of Salina; sister Lois Skelton Myrtle Beach, SC, Darlene Volk of Osgood, IN, Cindy Holcomb and Loretta Gossid, both of Skiatook, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Gladys Freeman; and child, Terri Skogeho.

Cremation was chosen and a graveside will be scheduled at a later date in Franklin Cemetery, Tescott.

Pamela "Pam" Yvette Bracy, 69, passed away peacefully February 20, 2023. She was born on August 14, 1953 in Woodston, Kansas to Warren and Janeva Jones, who both preceded her death.

Pam was the oldest of four siblings, which undoubtedly led to her hard-working, nurturing, and selfless personality. She was rarely still, and spent her life making sure that those around her were happy and taken care of.

In 2016 Pam retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she spent her entire career. Being the first one in her family to attend college and earn a degree, she was very proud of the accomplishments that she had made, but at the same time humble enough to never broadcast them.

Pam’s passion for life was infectious. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor that always put people at ease and made friends everywhere she went. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was always up for a game of pool or a shopping trip.

Pam will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. 

Pam is survived by her daughter Danica Bracy, and siblings Tammy Jones, Jerry Jones and Fred Jones.
